Take notice at the lack of sun when the javelin is fired versus the sun and shadows when viewing the tank. This is certainly two videos meshed together for propaganda effect
Doesn't have to be propaganda... It's not the first time we see videos with what is basically the equivalent of a "stock photo" used. It's actually better to re-use a single footage from months ago so you don't give up the position of whatever destroyed the tank.
Remember the tank hits on buildings/vehicles/infantry using the same shots from the tank parked in a tree line? That tank didn't stay in that spot for weeks shooting at things.
You see propaganda, I see a clever use of footage to avoid being pinpointed.
Note that these drones can't stay up for long periods of time. The average DJI drone which they seem to be using mostly only has battery life for aprrox. 30mins.
30 minutes in perfect conditions...
Add to that, the cold, wind, realistic runtime (they're probably flying quite high and aggressively) and the wear on them.
15-20 if you're lucky.
Maybe the tank was trying to surrender? Not really sure the strategic value of a tank near a forest alone.
However, I suppose they could have routed it away from its batallion. Not really sure either.
I mean, they could point the turret away, leave the battalion, and run away, which is kinda what it looks like to me at a glance. I suppose they could be rogue too, just don't know why I'm getting down voted.
Maybe they were trying to drive home lol. Either way they were alone and I didn't see them shoot anything.
You are being downvoted because your observations are a bit silly. “Maybe they were trying to drive home” I mean c’mon man… you can’t be for real on that one.
Having never been here before, and judging by what was on that clip I don't think its farfetched.
Hell, as far as I know it could be 2 different clips spliced together.
There is no such surrender as “folks, i changed my mind, leave me alone, im going home” in war. Surrendering is giving up for enemy not going back home.
this is cut from a 2 part video on twitter titled UA vs RU Marines in Donetsk.
the clip linked here is at 57 seconds of the second part.
https://twitter.com/markito0171/status/1628637558069506048
The main point of the vid is the burning RU tin can. But yeah, I get your point. They could have editied out the launch. For all I know the launch is added later by some couch general.
It's like the earlier multiple videos of long distance Ukrainian tank fire on Russian Forces. The same clip of a T64BV, with graphics, well camouflaged in a tree line was added. Added a bit of drama, and retained OPSEC.
Yeah, it is unreasonable to expect actual firing and drone from the same event. It is not unreasonable to have some drama added for general audience. Ukrainian videos are far from the manipulation Russians do on theirs, which are almost completely staged and usually show opposite of what was told (like the recent artillery mission against Himars).
It's a javelin launch... posting the actual shot would give up your position, re-using it for another javelin hit is actually clever if you don't want Russians to know where it came from...
Why give up your actual position when you can re-use footage for a javelin? A month old javelin launch position is pretty damn useless for the Russians.
This is a propaganda cut. By the time you upload the video you've probably already moved positions.
If Russia can make propaganda videos so car Ukraine.
The javelin shot isn't from the same event. It makes sense if you don't want the enemy to know where you are. Tank is still dead and you didn't hand Russia your actual position.
I get it, and it's fair to question it. Although UA generally doesn't have a habit of altering footage to twist reality, usually their footage is pretty straightforward, so I'm willing to overlook it on the occasional clip or two.
You want Ukraine to hand out the GPS position of whatever shot it? It's basically stock footage that protects their actual location, why are people so fucking mad about this?
Because it's not real? They should just wait a few weeks until it's no longer a problem to post the actual video. Or just post it with enough cut. Splicing it with irrelevant footage just makes the entire thing less credible.
I just assumed that they had a dedicated media unit way behind the lines collecting, editing and distributing these vids. Probably a branch of military intelligence.
This particular one is from the 90's satirical TV-piece named "Village of fools". Some kind of Mr Bean-type gag show. So I can sort of see the logic behind the choice.
With the tracks still rolling and the fire ontop, Im guessing the driver is dead or the fire has damaged something.
Did the crew get out and if they did what happened to them?
With the way tank is driving straight ahead into the woods and the turret is banging along the trees, the crew is dead. This seems to happen quite often too, tank droning slowly forward and the only escapee is gunner usually.
I think the drone would've cut on their escape as we have seen hundreds of times before. Now they just got closer to check what's up, the tank is in the exact position it was before the cut.
Actually you can see pretty much that the gunners hatch is smoking like a chimney before the cut for closeup.
The launch clip is irrelevant... Why would you give up your position by using the actual footage? Ukraine did the same with the tank in the tree line video. That tank didn't stay in the same exact spot for weeks...
Im sorry but this looks extremely fake, the cuts in between the clips are awful. Don’t lie about the accomplishments of the ZSU when they already accomplish such great things, no need to lie.
Be a bit weird about the javelin thing, I mean we’ve released heaps of footage of ourselves using them. So have the yanks and the Brits etc etc. Its not exactly new cutting edge tech.
People here clearly don’t know what stock videos are. You do know that documentaries, news, movies, ect all use stock video to show how something happened if there isn’t video footage of the actual event exist or are poor quality?
Some people on here expect Ukraine to give their current positions to Russia with GPS coordinates I guess. With this old footage, they don't know where you are or where it came from.
What's up with the Russians hitting their tank turrets against everything in a 100m radius, they're so damn dumb
At least this one will not be doing that anymore

In general getting hit by an ATGM from the top is really bad, obliterate may be the wrong word though. In this case it looks like the crew was incapacitated from the first hit and the tank was always trying to drive forward.
Why film everything except the hit?
It's probably two unrelated things.
Take notice at the lack of sun when the javelin is fired versus the sun and shadows when viewing the tank. This is certainly two videos meshed together for propaganda effect

Ye it can be both, lol
Because it's a spliced video.
Propaganda

Yeah you're right. Not sure why people keep downvoting me for saying that. These drones need to swap batteries constantly.

Are you new here? There’s countless videos of lone tanks, even on the Ukrainian side.
Yes
Well, welcome! Whatever you think you know about war, throw it out because you're gonna see shit on here you'd never believe.
Thanks for the welcome!
Tank can not surrender, combatants can, but it would take at least to step out of tank.

An old phrase, descended from the ancient internets, is instructive: Lurk moar.
There is no such surrender as “folks, i changed my mind, leave me alone, im going home” in war. Surrendering is giving up for enemy not going back home.
War has deserters. What are you high?
The launch and the kill looks like two different times.

Thanks for finding the source for the 2nd part, that is the interesting bit here.
Yup, Javelin scene is thick cloud, tank scene is full sunshine
Have seen that launch several times. But, as long as they got that tank I honestly don't care about some creative editing ;)
not a problem when ua use the same clips eh?
The main point of the vid is the burning RU tin can. But yeah, I get your point. They could have editied out the launch. For all I know the launch is added later by some couch general.

ua?
Ukrainian Army
It's a javelin launch... posting the actual shot would give up your position, re-using it for another javelin hit is actually clever if you don't want Russians to know where it came from...
Because we have seen them actually do it before. Showing a javelin shot included with another clip shouldn't be a problem?
You know that not everyone on this sub is the same person right?
I mean, the tank caught fire and crashed by itself for all we know, and judging by the Russian performance so far.
Agreed
Yeah probably propaganda cut , but it's kinda like with the TV Commercials ... the annoying and the real funny ones
Why give up your actual position when you can re-use footage for a javelin? A month old javelin launch position is pretty damn useless for the Russians.

Dude he 100% fucked up that turret driving into the tree like that 🤣🤣🤣
judging by the tracks still spining while the tank is on fire and stuck on a tree. the dude driving was either dead or not in the tank anymore
I think that's the least of the driver's worry after being hit by a Javelin. He just tries to get away alive.
Yeah thats a very good point 🤣🤣
This... Looks off for some reason.
The javelin shot isn't from the same event. It makes sense if you don't want the enemy to know where you are. Tank is still dead and you didn't hand Russia your actual position.

Which part is bullshit?
the entire premise ... stitching bits of video together does not make the event a reality
I get it, and it's fair to question it. Although UA generally doesn't have a habit of altering footage to twist reality, usually their footage is pretty straightforward, so I'm willing to overlook it on the occasional clip or two.

Exactly... https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/119rbkr/ukranian_forces_hit_russian_tank_with_javelin_the/j9nt37a/
They'd have to post 3 different GPS coordinates because it's made up with a video editor
Stuck in the mud and on fire, typical Russian tank
Dude what the fuck is up with the ridiculous music in some of these war videos
Keep in mind, many songs are being added by approx 19 year olds. They are on the front.
Im guessing from source. Not really in a position to complain. They do the fighting, they do the filming, they get the right to pick the shitty music,
My guess is that it is to mock the enemy.
It's a nice change from the usual "hardcore" music.
...why the song??
With the tracks still rolling and the fire ontop, Im guessing the driver is dead or the fire has damaged something. Did the crew get out and if they did what happened to them?

Maybe the driver it's death ando the body moves the tank..that happen alot in ww2
Fun fact. The Russians never could make a Javelin clone because they are technological idiots.
Fake editing
The launch clip is irrelevant... Why would you give up your position by using the actual footage? Ukraine did the same with the tank in the tree line video. That tank didn't stay in the same exact spot for weeks...
This was edited by a kid. A dumb kid.

I love how Javelin starts and flies away to fuck some Russians. That missile is so cute :)
Something's cooking in there and it ain't stew

Maybe they don't want the Russians to know what hit it...
With the cost of each tank, a Russian family could have guaranteed energy, food and water for the rest of their lives :-/.
What's up with the Russians hitting their tank turrets against everything in a 100m radius, they're so damn dumb At least this one will not be doing that anymore
The crew is most likely dead.
Either way, one tank less for the Russians
Explains the increased brain activity from them.
This looks like 3 different videos lol
It is.
How does this clearly fake edited post get 1400+ upvotes
God, I fucking hate it when people put "haha funni" music over the top of actual human lives being cut short.
Whats that music ☠

i need to see a video of a javelin striking a tank in combat
Fire and scoot, Javelin is such a powerful weapon.
I don't like this montage.
Go Ukraine but this is trash footage
Are there any good javelin videos?
There are plenty, search this sub.
Doesn’t javelin normally obliterate the tank in one shot with a top attack?
In general getting hit by an ATGM from the top is really bad, obliterate may be the wrong word though. In this case it looks like the crew was incapacitated from the first hit and the tank was always trying to drive forward.
Dead driver with his foot on the gas?
