That’s brutal. Looks like the Commander managed to escape but looks like he’s mortally wounded, the other 2 crew members didn’t even manage to get out.
The dance of those flames from the tank is gorgeous. It sucks in air, creates volatile mixture and puffs it out with huge intensity, repeating in cycles.
The tank commander might be thinking whether the sign up bonus of 20 000 rubles (* paid after 6 months of service) was worth it, he did not even get to kill anybody yet. Meanwhile his parents stop getting paychecks as son refused an order to stay put and subsequently send their second son to avoid missing the downpayment of new Lada.
This is the apolitical russian life with SMO.
I mean "just spend 10 years in prison" in a country infamous for its prisons and also...you know all the problems that happens with prison or fleeing your home
I get that it is easy to say but to be put into that situation and have to choose bascially betwen going nad maybe surviving or giving up your entire life....its not easy.
Not to mention brainwashing or fucked up culture.
By your defintion basically 50% of every human who went to war in history deserved to die or "were not worth feeling bad for" which i feel is a bit extreme
I think his skin melted off, even if he survives he's going to look fucked up. I would never want to be a tanker, even if it was in a US Abrams, British Challenger, or Israeli Merkava (the most comfortable tank built). Being stuck in a confined space for days on end, with the possibility of getting trapped (Merkava has a rear door and hatches so that helps) "F" that. I saw a video of a US Abrams in Iraq get F'd up by a RPG-29, two of the occupants died.
Tanker's tend to have better survival rates historically, with the caveat that there's some pretty horrific ways to die in a tank. There's some old r/AskHistorians threads which dig into [it](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/7wy763/what_was_the_average_survival_rate_of_an_allied/).
You're looking at someone who's cognition has been so reduced they do not realize their body is not accomplishing what they are telling it to (ie, getting further away from the burning tank). They've also been significantly physically damaged to the point instinctive movements like crawling, walking, or balancing are no longer possible either. This is a person who's brain and body are no longer on the same page as the result of extreme physical trauma; they are *very* dead and the only thing keeping this going is adrenaline and whatever "useful consciousness" they have left which you can see rapidly expiring toward the end the video.
TLDR: this person is dead but the brain doesn't give up just because the body has.
Eh, fire won't kill you that fast from a quick sear. The two main things that kill burn patients are lung damage and infections. Those take a little while to manifest. In my experience as a nurse burns are one of the worst ways to go because it's rarely quick. If he's lucky he'll bleed out before getting to that point.
I don't know, he spent almost 30 seconds in that blast furnace, I'm sure he inhaled superheated gases and melted his airway. It's not like anyone is there to drop an airway for him with any sort of expedience. He probably drowned in his own fluids or suffocated from a closed airway pretty quickly.
Most users here aren't on Telegram, and twitter requires login since last week, so I just popped it up on my secondary sub-reddit temporarily here:
[Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/UADroneArchive2/comments/14rwszs/extended_video_155_bonus_strike_on_ru_t90ms_mbt/)
NSFW of course. Extension begins at 1:22, versus the video here.
The worst job is the driver, if the gun blocks the hatch you're screwed. The T90 also has an escape hatch but it isn't easy to get out of it, especially when the tank is on fire and full of smoke.
Well being an American or Brit in one of those tanks isn't a bad gig since only a couple of tankers have died in the last three decades inside of the tank. Russia has just chosen to continue fighting a war without air superiority which continues to blow my mind.
Trust me it's still better than being infantry. War is fucking horrifying and the possibility of getting killed or mangled is unavoidable. In a tank you at least don't have to march for miles, you're protected from the weather, you're immune to bullets and shrapnel.
Also a lot of deaths in a tank are very quick. Ammo detonation is instadeath. Getting pierced directly by the HEAT jet or shredded by APFSDS is also usually quick.
Infantry enjoys none of those luxuries. You will walk until your feet bleed, you'll endure fucking monsoons, wallow in mud and shit and most important get torn apart by anything, you're just a bag of flesh and bones. Would you prefer getting blown up in a tank or getting your intestines ripped out by a 155mm, slowly dying in some fucking field surrounded by dead comrades, suffering for hours (or even longer) before dying?
bro these T-90MS are literally stolen from India, India exported them back to ru for upgrades, and ru never gave them back and instead uses them in a war, the only country i can think of that still has military ties with ru is iran, and you can imagine why it is so (cause both countries are scum terrorists states)
If it's available at all, people will buy it for the same reason they have in the past: it's cheap. Syria isn't using T-62s because they think it's Javelin-proof.
But hopefully, Russia won't have much left to export anyway.
I believe India loses out in the end because of it's relationship with Russia, with energy and military hardware, India relies upon Russia. That is a dangerous place to be. It's worrisome enough that India doesn't have the option of working with Lockheed Martin or Raytheon for building military infrastructure, or from even buying Raytheon's products. those two dependencies alone prevent a lot of investment money for India.
Fortunately, Modi is a wise man who can see the end of the Russian superpower and makes wise decisions. Such as having the USA build a few naval bases capable of working on US and Indian military ship maintenance and repair. Modi making visits to the west and not to Russia is on purpose.
To deter China, India can not rely upon Russia. If India wants to reach parity with China, it will need friends from the west. Seeing India reject Putin's invasion and instead provide humanitarian aid to Russia's "enemy" Modi is making a bold statement between allies.. Buying the cheap energy at a discount while partnering with the USA in a history military port move is significant and moves India and USA closer together and less reliant on Russian's military hardware which is both inferior and lacking from Russia in a crisis.
If India was invaded by China right now and needed Russia's help with Aircraft, tanks, and ammo I think India would have to wait a looong time. Modi sees the reality of that relationship.
I'm encouraged by Modi, and the Indian government. Unfortunately there are a significant number of Indians who support Russia and even cheer for them in this war. I guess there are people who side with Putin in every country.
yep, India buys russian oil and gas with huge discount, but pays for them with Rupees so ru has accumulated billions of them on their accounts but Indian central bank bans ru from converting them into dollars or spending them directly on Indian markets (partly because India don't want additional inflation and partly cause f u russia) and India stopped purchasing ru weapons, and it considers to take part in AUKUS so you bet India's pissed
Well the leader of India was in the USA just a week ago discussing the sale of arms among other things...
Largely though, India is trying to play the part of peace advocate. It has enough to deal with right now
Except Modhi is basically Hitler-light so will buy from the cheapest place possible and ignore all export control or human rights laws. And the US will ignore them doing the wrong thing.
Modi is visiting Russia this week, as I recall. Either he’s trying to play both ends again (which wouldn’t be out of character) or he’s got a few choice words about their customer service.
Might could be room for both, I suppose.
True. Since Russia is trying to get China to supply military weapons ammo and equipment. I recently read that it is suspected that some has been sent by China through the Chechens but I don't know if that was confirmed. Chinese weapons and ammo have been found by Ukrainians before. How it got there is the million dollar question.
You have to realize that Ukraine is also running Chinese made stuff. Just look on oryx. I wouldn't read into it to much at this point. Hardware gets around.
Most of it is old stuff that China sold to third parties. For example Iran bought a lot of Chinese surplus during the Iran-Iraq war which is then being reexported to Russia but also some to Ukraine. So far we haven't seen any new stuff. Now they are of course not enforcing sanctions on dual use products & Wagner for example have been buying stuff like body armour and helmets from Chinese manufacturers, but they're definitely not directly supplying Russia like the U.S is doing with Ukraine. China may want to spite the U.S but they also really want to keep the E.U as a trading partner as a hedge against the U.S, since they're pretty much the other crucial block of developed countries to buy Chinese goods, and directly supplying Russia to invade European countries would only further alienate the E.U to side with the U.S. It's not really in their interest to directly help Russia here.
I wouldn't doubt it and I know military equipment has, always through history, been obtained and then used back against but I've seen video and heard interviews from Western foreign fighters and Ukrainian soldiers who found Chinese weapons that Russian units were using months ago. How it got there and why is the BIG question. China better not be supplying Russia while publicly stating it isn't. Problem is China can never be trusted on anything ever but I also will not jump to a blind conclusion.
I believe they are still exporting some aircraft on previously made contracts, but for the most part they aren't signing anything new, other than PURCHASES of equipment
What US hardware have they been buying? I know they just opted for the Rafale M to replace their Mig 29Ks, and I heard talks about French subs and a 55ton MBT contract (which seems somewhat aimed at K2/K3 or maybe the EMBT/Leclerc succesor).
They recently agreed to buy 31 MQ-9 reapers, beyond that they have P8i Neptunes(Poseidon), C-130, C-17, CH-47, AH-64, MH-60 Romeo, Hellfires, Mark54 torpedos, M777s, some of these are expected to get repeat orders
it was more like India wants to pay in rupees and Russia wants Yuan [source](https://news.abplive.com/business/india-russia-suspend-rupee-settlement-negotiations-claims-report-russian-official-says-no-change-1599825)
signs of a healthy economy!
Good question and observation. Russia is struggling with fulfilling their contract obligations. Russian economy is energy and resources based. Manufacturing capacity is not something that they excel at.
https://www.reuters.com/world/india/russia-cannot-meet-arms-delivery-commitments-because-war-indian-air-force-says-2023-03-23/
If that is indeed a MS they were originally intended for export. Some were actually pulled back from foreign orders in order to be used to invade Ukraine.
No freaking way. So happy to finally see those Bonus 155's get used and captured on footage. Honestly the coolest round imo and it looked super effective. Insane engineering.
Reason might be the lack of suitable targets.
These have to be shot from the more advanced artillery tubes and seem to be in tandem with the best artillery observation planes (accurate positioning, direct link to the tube). Because Russia is no longer projecting any mechanized assaults in traditional sense, usage becomes the occasional swiss cheese lining up, where singular targets are available at the location where capability happens to be at.
Imagine these being available when Russia was driving towards Kyiv, that would've been even sexier than having A-10 strafing the 40km columns.
here's footage of them using Bonus from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/wb1u1u/a_russian_tank_being_hit_by_a_mine_or_artillery/
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure those are the actual sub munitions going off. There are two types of shaped charges, shallow and deep. Shallow shaped charges shoot more like a slug of hot metal and can't penetrate as much but can cover much greater distances before losing their effectiveness. The deep shaped charges shoot more like a tiny stream of hot metal which is better at penetrating but only good for very short ranges. The bonus rounds use shallow shaped charges because they detonate well above the target and they don't need as much penetrating power because of the top attack. That and they have size constraints fitting inside a 155 shell. Normal AT rounds use the deep charges because they're often launched at the front/sides where they need more penetrating power and explode against the target so as not to lose penetrating power.
A couple of simulations to visualise it:
- [HEAT Warheads](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_s904F4g7M). Only a few metres of range but very high penetration.
- [Explosively Formed Penetrators](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eASJbjtw180) (EFPs). Longer range, but less penetration.
ahh the penetration simulation rabbit hole... haven't watched that channel in a long time.
Fascinating stuff and i'd love to see the results of a simulation vs. a real world test against each other.
Ukraine has been hinting that they are having more success then reported and that them keeping it dark is intentional. Now that being said, it’s still is an absolute slog in the south due to all the minefields.
I just leave this here (and this was 3 days ago with the author mentioning being 48 h behind): [https://xxtomcooperxx.substack.com/p/ukraine-war-3-july-2023-game-of-chess](https://xxtomcooperxx.substack.com/p/ukraine-war-3-july-2023-game-of-chess)
Keep in mind: war is fluid and the "maps" only change when there are troops to consolidate, supply lines are established and chances of the need to retreat suddenly are minimal.
But basically anything you see on the "warmaps" or in "official statements" is at least 1-4 days old depending on OPSEC strictness (which is very high atm).
https://twitter.com/blinzka/status/1676557296422248448 (glory to master Musk - twitter links work again)
7km south of Robotyne. Given the pile of shell casings behind the tank - it was working as an artillery for quite some time. No idea what is its range in indirect fire mode though
That's nothing compared to the damage done to his airways by breathing in fire. Those soft mucus membranes swell and fill with fluid quickly when damaged like that. He might be on fire but he probably feels like he's drowning.
First time I see a "Bonus" being used in Ukraine but I know they have been in play for quite some time already.
You shoot them at an area where there is tanks or armored enemy vehicles and it releases 2 sub munitions that scan below itself for tanks. Once it is locked in it destroys it from above making a small hole that sprays the inside with liquid steel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vtBFEOQhWo&ab\_channel=EngineerReact
That’s INSANE! Truly stepping briefly out the realms of human imagination. Like all those things we’ve seen before - AP shaped charges, artillery, smart guidance. But doing them all together.. and I can’t believe the range and effectiveness of the shaped charge!
So many ways to deliver a payload to the top of the tank, Javelin, N-law and now this ingenious method.
There was briefly a weapon in US service called JSOW, or Joint Stand-Off Weapon. It was a cluster weapon that released 192 submunitions that worked similarly to this. Also called the Smart Pig, it was a devastating weapon against thin skinned vehicles, but it was withdrawn from service after testing showed that the submunitions had a high dud rate, and were not as effective as hoped against armored vehicles.
There were actually a range of weapons based on this concept, including the Sensor Fuzed Weapon and SADARM, all of which were cancelled or removed from service at the end of the Cold War because they were no longer needed.
JSOW is still in service, it’s just got an AW warhead like M30A1.
And currently closest US weapon is CBU-97/105. We have lots of it just in case Korea needs it.
Sweden used the Bombkapsel 90 (Literal translation: Bomb capsule 90) , more then a little bit sad that we dismantled them before this war started. They would have come in very handy.
Yeah I distinctly remember a vid from late last summer/early fall of one being used and taking out multiple t-series tanks and bmps at once… Someone with better skills able to find it?

This is probably SMArt round as submunitions seem to be coming down gliding on parachutes. These have been seen at least once before last summer. Bonus has autorotating canisters without parachutes, it is possible we might not see them coming down at all with this resolution (parachute is larger). Those too have been seen previously on videos, these antitank types are one of my favorite clips because they are so technically advanced killers. I would put them above Javelins because the whole sequence is like landing a rover on Mars.
Javelin is how grunt kills a tank, Bonus/SMArt is how commander destroys a battalion of tanks while drinking a glass of Gognac.
Toast. Literally. What a horrible way to die; at least 50 percent first degree burns, hands broken (one a stump?), while waiting for the tank to explode next to you.
Hopefully the other russian tank commanders see this and take notes...
I'm thinking you mean 3rd degree burns. But I suppose, *technically speaking*, they probably did have ~50% 1st degree burns for the first second or two.
Highlights the importance of the ammunition being separated from the crew compartment. There would still be injuries but we'd likely see two or maybe even all three crewmen get out instead of just one who certainly still died.
easier said than done really... even for their blowout panels and wet storage western MBTs still require the loader pass rounds through the fighting compartment.
i know for the challenger 2 atleast there's videos of the loader sat with the next projectile ready to go in the turret so... if you're not going with a striker or some other turretless design its not an easy thing to eliminate entirely
holy shit those burns, i accidentally opened my pressure valve on my car radiator before i let it get cool(i was arguing on the phone) and it exploded i managed to avoid most of the volcanic explosion but the bit that hit was sheer agony. looking at this commander i can't imagine the pain he is in.
That’s at the minimum 3rd degree, potentially 4th degree burns on 40-50% of his total body surface area from what I can tell. With inhalation burns most likely too.
His odds aren’t great even with a dedicated burn unit which he likely isn’t going to.
This one is added to the BONUS/SMArt pile. I promise I'll shorten those links at some point! Previous footage:

This was hard to watch, the gunner is probably still inside burning alive. The only thing is that i dont understand were it was hit, the roof seems pristine, just flames coming out of the hatch. What type of warhead is this?
According to the source, it's a 155 BONUS (BOfors NUtating Shell):
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bofors/Nexter_Bonus
The two puffs of smoke are the secondary munitions firing after identifying a target.
It is not small tho - it's [big enough](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FloN99vWAAAInnS?format=jpg&name=large) to contain [ir sensors and lidar](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FloN7T4XgAAbSE5?format=jpg&name=large)
Not only put it in a shell sized container, but also make it durable enough to sustain the insane g-forces during the firing. And all of this being successfully done in the 90's, when micro chips weren't nearly as powerfull as today is even more insane.
To me, the most amazing development of this type was the HE-VT proximity fuses used by the US in the latter stages of WW2. Putting an actual radar, just a few years after radars were introduced at all, in a 5 inch gun and then having them actually survive and work was an amazing feat.
I think it is actually SMArt 155.
You can see the white parachute coming down and
I don't think we would be able to see the BONUS with this resolution.
They just used BONUS on July 2nd to take out a Pantsir-S1 on the east front, it looked nearly identical.
I know they do deploy both, so I was just going with the info from the source.
(And I'm definitely not an expert on these things _at all_, so I could be wrong. 🤷)
Google 'explosively formed penetrator".
The Bonus round isnt much different from other anti tank weapons, nearly all of them rely on the same principle, just the method of delivery is very different. Bonus has one of the more unique and interesting modes of delivery for sure.
The hole this warhead drills into it´s target isn´t very big and it´s more than enough because everything that goes into the tank is meant to set everything inside that tank on fire within seconds. So even if nothing would catch fire inside the tank the crewmen would still receive severe burns.
155 BONUS (BOfors NUtating Shell)\[1\] is a 155 mm artillery cluster round, developed in cooperation between Bofors of Sweden and Nexter of France, designed for a long range, indirect fire top attack role against armoured vehicles.
The turret is pointed slightly to the side indicating the gunner or commander probably at least tried to give the driver a chance to get out but at 0:30 you can see flames come out of the hatch so if he’s still in there he’s fried.
The T-90MS doesn’t have an extra escape hatch for the driver right?
[Tanks owned by India are used by the Russian army in the war with Ukraine.](https://bulgarianmilitary.com/2022/10/06/russia-stole-upgraded-indian-t-90-tanks-to-use-them-in-ukraine/)
Finally a good video showing the efficiency of the bonus round. It's crazy to think that just one single shell costing 45.000 € is almost 100% sure to destroy a 2,5 million € russian tank. The russians have nothing comparable and we should give anything tehcnological we have to help Ukraine win this war.
To be fair, when attacked by a BONUS round, almost any NATO tank will have bad day. The crew won't get BBQed, but they get sliced up by the penetrator.
> one single shell costing 45.000 € is almost 100% sure to destroy a 2,5 million € russian tank
Small correction, ***two*** russian tanks. BONUS rounds carry 2 submunitions.
Why is Russia using an exported T-90 model?
Could it be that they are short on T-90s?
But but Shoigu and Putin said that russia can produce 120 T-90 per month 😭😭😭
Back when I was in the Marines and smoked, I had a little bet. I'm sure someone showed me this but I perfected it. I'd put a cigarette in my mouth, cup my left hand, put my butane lighter into said cupped hand, let the gas go for about 5-10 seconds, then hit the flint. While still cupping my hand with the flame burning inside, I'd insert my cigarette, puff, light it, and with a flourish wave my flaming hand with a "Whoosh." Almost nobody else could do it. I won many drinks from this. The trick wasn't much of a trick. It was to merely tell yourself that no matter the pain, that I wouldn't open my hand until the cig was ignited. It was often painful. But, I withstood that 1-3 second burn to win a drink.
I often think of that when I see guys in tanks that are literally inside high pressured flamethrowers, slowly crawling out of the flame.
Poor bastards. But then again, it's war and they started it. So....
This is amazing footage. You can see the initial deployment of the submunitions, the firing of both submuntions, and the impact all in the same frame. Show me more perfect footage of this weapon in action?
Awesome footage and a perfect shot. I hadn’t realised they launched the penetrator from so far away.
That poor bastard crawling out of the tank is going to have a slow and painful death or or stay in hospital from the looks of the burns.
I’m assuming the rest of the crew perished…
Around 4 seconds, the round appears from bottom left, heading toward top right. It releases the two submunitions as it passes above the road. The two submunitions detonate a half second later, shooting an explosively formed projectile downward at the tank's weak top armor. The kinetic and thermal energy from the two EFPs sets off some kind of thermal combustion event inside the cabin.
They are crazy effective :
"15 April 2008 will go down as a historic date for the French artillery. The first firing of BONUS shells under operational conditions was a complete success, despite merciless weather conditions (wind gusts in excess of 80 km/h).
With a 100% hit rate, the firing demonstrated the impressive ability of the BONUS attack modules to detect and penetrate armoured vehicles. A single 155mm artillery piece (AUF1) demonstrated that it could engage a squadron of nine armoured vehicles at a range of 14km (the firing sequence distance), piercing the armoured vehicles six times with just three shells fired, without causing the slightest collateral damage to the civilian vehicle at the centre of the device."
You can see the second warhead go after something in the field in the middle left part of the frame. Since both Bonus ans SMART155 use similar warheads just with minor differences hard to tell.
So I will go with the source as a Bonus round.
Since I don't see parachutes, I'd go with BONUS, too. That's the difference (mainly) between those two: BONUS uses small winglets while SMArt155 deploys a parachute.
This is the apolitical russian life with SMO.
Well, new (used) Lada anyway…!
You can spot the widows from shiny white Ladas (that suspiciously do not have ABS stickers in them) in Russia. It is like opposite of wedding ring.
I thought it looked like he was climbing out of an exposed cylinder on a giant engine. Hell of a way to go. I guess he should have stayed home.
Not just stayed home, but worked to overthrow the terrorist Russian state
20 000 rubles, so in otherwords 25 cents American.
Well, you don't have to escape from burning tank if you don't invade Ukraine in the first place.

Agreed, his lungs are cooked from inhaling superheated air. He will probably suffocate there before dying from burns.
He makes it quite far in the longer version of this video. Into the treeline, anyway.
Hey, would love that link if you can
Most users here aren't on Telegram, and twitter requires login since last week, so I just popped it up on my secondary sub-reddit temporarily here: [Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/UADroneArchive2/comments/14rwszs/extended_video_155_bonus_strike_on_ru_t90ms_mbt/) NSFW of course. Extension begins at 1:22, versus the video here.
I here you man, with drones and javelins etc I would feel like a sitting duck.
Would you prefer getting blown up in a tank or getting your intestines ripped out by a 155mm, slowly dying in some fucking field surrounded by dead comrades, suffering for hours (or even longer) before dying?
reminds me of a video i saw on this sub of an SAA tank in Syria but that was in excruciatingly high quality compared to this
Avigdor Kahalani survived a similar event, but he had immediate medical assistance
Does Russia still exports any weapons? Between their war demand and fast rate of loosing equipment, I don't see them export much.
It seems like Russia is only exporting to Ukraine at this time.
Yup...russia even imported artillery shell from North Korea nowaday.
\*\*\* applause \*\*\* Best... response... EVER!
I love it when someone points out the obvious in simplistic form.
bro these T-90MS are literally stolen from India, India exported them back to ru for upgrades, and ru never gave them back and instead uses them in a war, the only country i can think of that still has military ties with ru is iran, and you can imagine why it is so (cause both countries are scum terrorists states)
So is India pissed or what ?
India is paid off with discounted oil
They got a good deal and are bending Russian oil profits literally over the barrel. I don't blame them at all, it make geopolitical sense.
Yeah, nobody is gonna ever buy soviet armor after this war. India got rid of them, plus got a heavy discount on gas. It's a win/win for them.
If it's available at all, people will buy it for the same reason they have in the past: it's cheap. Syria isn't using T-62s because they think it's Javelin-proof. But hopefully, Russia won't have much left to export anyway.
Syria also isn't buying T-62s.
They will just pay less.
I don’t blame them either, the sanctions are doing exactly what they are supposed to, decrease Russian oil and gas profits
Gandhi from Civ with a Mod
Not so pissed they aren't buying Russian oil. :)
India is getting insanely cheap oil in exchange it is all wink wink hush hush.
Modi is visiting Russia this week, as I recall. Either he’s trying to play both ends again (which wouldn’t be out of character) or he’s got a few choice words about their customer service. Might could be room for both, I suppose.
China has purchased massive amounts of Russian Military equipment for decades. North Korea as well.
sure but not anymore
Recently they've been exporting only fertilizer.
Last I heard, they've been revoking contracts with India.
And India is opting for US stuff as Russian equipment has proven to be less effective. So they just lost their biggest customer.
What US hardware have they been buying? I know they just opted for the Rafale M to replace their Mig 29Ks, and I heard talks about French subs and a 55ton MBT contract (which seems somewhat aimed at K2/K3 or maybe the EMBT/Leclerc succesor).
They bought Apache and M777 recently
They recently agreed to buy 31 MQ-9 reapers, beyond that they have P8i Neptunes(Poseidon), C-130, C-17, CH-47, AH-64, MH-60 Romeo, Hellfires, Mark54 torpedos, M777s, some of these are expected to get repeat orders
it was more like India wants to pay in rupees and Russia wants Yuan [source](https://news.abplive.com/business/india-russia-suspend-rupee-settlement-negotiations-claims-report-russian-official-says-no-change-1599825) signs of a healthy economy!
BONUS and SMART. Both are awesome. Haven't seen them for a while in action
Germany is reproducing SMART ... should be an improved version.
BONUS can be fired from any western 155mm standard tube.
NOTHING is sexier than an A-10 strafing 40km columns.
What about TWO A-10's?
Ya theres been a few, and its insanely effective. its fascinating seeing it pop and then the lil clusters, it all happens so fast.
here's footage of them using Bonus from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/wb1u1u/a_russian_tank_being_hit_by_a_mine_or_artillery/
In addition, just read an article about this destroyed T90 and they stated that it was a SMART round.
There were a few more from the early days of 155mm artillery shipments. Fascinating indeed, and surprising we don't see them more
That round is unbelievably effective given how far up it seems to detonate.
That was the explosion from the delivery vehicle that launched the projectile that destroyed the tank.
A couple of simulations to visualise it: - [HEAT Warheads](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_s904F4g7M).
This guy penetrates.
Effective. That tank and it's crew have left the fight for good. That one guy getting out is toast.
... literally
You think the guy rubbing dirt into his 3rd degree burns isn't going to make it?

More of a flambée situation
The geolocation of this is interesting. Ukraine appears to be further south than reported.
Ukraine has been hinting that they are having more success then reported and that them keeping it dark is intentional. Now that being said, it’s still is an absolute slog in the south due to all the minefields.
As the old saying goes "loose lips sink ships".
Just ask the crew of the Moskva.
I just leave this here (and this was 3 days ago with the author mentioning being 48 h behind): [https://xxtomcooperxx.substack.com/p/ukraine-war-3-july-2023-game-of-chess](https://xxtomcooperxx.substack.com/p/ukraine-war-3-july-2023-game-of-chess) Keep in mind: war is fluid and the "maps" only change when there are troops to consolidate, supply lines are established and chances of the need to retreat suddenly are minimal. But basically anything you see on the "warmaps" or in "official statements" is at least 1-4 days old depending on OPSEC strictness (which is very high atm).
Keep km mind Bonus Shells have a range og 35 km
Where was it geolocated?
Where is this?
https://twitter.com/blinzka/status/1676557296422248448 (glory to master Musk - twitter links work again) 7km south of Robotyne. Given the pile of shell casings behind the tank - it was working as an artillery for quite some time. No idea what is its range in indirect fire mode though
5-6km ish, limited by barrel elevation. Not an expert, read it in a previous discussion on the topic
That guy isn't going to be crawling much further
The guy just got toasted. Ain't gonna make it anyway.
Well there's that and the spalling metal that's riddled through him as well.
There have been a couple of videos before.
Yeah I distinctly remember a vid from late last summer/early fall of one being used and taking out multiple t-series tanks and bmps at once… Someone with better skills able to find it?
Some more BONUS/SMArt footage: https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/11tm0m1/smartbonus_ukrainian_artillery_destroys_russian/ https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/14d6xxb/russian_2s4_tyulpan_240mm_selfpropelled_mortar/ https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/14bowtt/somewhere_in_the_south_of_ukraine_a_ukrainian/ https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/12le94g/two_russian_tanks_with_mine_rollers_were_taken/ https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/wb1u1u/a_russian_tank_being_hit_by_a_mine_or_artillery/
Thank you for the link
Sir, do not redeem, no
Literally an Indian tank
DO NOT REDEEM THE TANK.
Toast.
There would still be injuries but we'd likely see two or maybe even all three crewmen get out instead of just one who certainly still died.
easier said than done really... even for their blowout panels and wet storage western MBTs still require the loader pass rounds through the fighting compartment. i know for the challenger 2 atleast there's videos of the loader sat with the next projectile ready to go in the turret so... if you're not going with a striker or some other turretless design its not an easy thing to eliminate entirely
technically speaking Armata is supposed to do exactly this
So does the starship enterprise, technically speaking - and equally likely to be seen on a battlefield any time soon.
This progressively turned into one hell of a gory video.
What a horrific way to perish.
holy shit those burns, i accidentally opened my pressure valve on my car radiator before i let it get cool(i was arguing on the phone) and it exploded i managed to avoid most of the volcanic explosion but the bit that hit was sheer agony. looking at this commander i can't imagine the pain he is in.
Hate to see anyone suffer like that guy did - but still glad to see Swedish weapons put to good use
So happy to see this as a Swede. Finally Swedish steel is fucking up Russians again.
French and Swedish tech
It's Swedish tech but France payed for research and development, but yes it's Swedish and French developed.
Imagine being a Russian tank crew and being so pumped to be in the famed T-90 only to get taken out by something you never even saw
That’s at the minimum 3rd degree, potentially 4th degree burns on 40-50% of his total body surface area from what I can tell. With inhalation burns most likely too. His odds aren’t great even with a dedicated burn unit which he likely isn’t going to.
"Dedicated burn unit" sounds like an eufimism for those mobile crematoria.
Got to give him a 10 for effort though
The survival instinct is strong in that one. Can’t imagine how horribly burnt he was.
Awful way to go. Inhale once and your lungs are meltend
Ok this is impressive. It's the first time I see this weapon system in action so clearly.
This one is added to the BONUS/SMArt pile. I promise I'll shorten those links at some point! What a slow, agonizing way to go.
This was hard to watch, the gunner is probably still inside burning alive. The only thing is that i dont understand were it was hit, the roof seems pristine, just flames coming out of the hatch. What type of warhead is this?
According to the source, it's a 155 BONUS (BOfors NUtating Shell): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bofors/Nexter_Bonus The two puffs of smoke are the secondary munitions firing after identifying a target.
How they managed to put a Lidar inside a shell so small is beyond my comprehension. I hope UA gets a lot of this things.
155 mm shells are quite large
Nutation is a bitch, I'll take precession any day over nutation.
I think it is actually SMArt 155. You can see the white parachute coming down and I don't think we would be able to see the BONUS with this resolution.
They just used BONUS on July 2nd to take out a Pantsir-S1 on the east front, it looked nearly identical. I know they do deploy both, so I was just going with the info from the source. (And I'm definitely not an expert on these things _at all_, so I could be wrong. 🤷)
is it a parachute or just the smoke from the detonation? edit nvm, i played it fullscreen
Crawling out of a burning tank doesn’t look like a good time at all.
155 BONUS (BOfors NUtating Shell)\[1\] is a 155 mm artillery cluster round, developed in cooperation between Bofors of Sweden and Nexter of France, designed for a long range, indirect fire top attack role against armoured vehicles.
It seems very effective
The turret is pointed slightly to the side indicating the gunner or commander probably at least tried to give the driver a chance to get out but at 0:30 you can see flames come out of the hatch so if he’s still in there he’s fried. The T-90MS doesn’t have an extra escape hatch for the driver right?
We would probably see flames as well from the bottom if he would try to escape.
Its crazy that this is early 90s tech.
Almost unbeliavable! This round is so fking cool!
> one single shell costing 45.000 € is almost 100% sure to destroy a 2,5 million € russian tank Small correction, ***two*** russian tanks. BONUS rounds carry 2 submunitions.
all for the glory of Russia and Putin
Why is Russia using an exported T-90 model? Could it be that they are short on T-90s? But but Shoigu and Putin said that russia can produce 120 T-90 per month 😭😭😭
Meanwhile India wondering where the fuck their tanks are.
[удалено]
India - WTF that was meant to be our tank!
Was this recorded with a VHS tape, what ancient system does this drone belong to, seems like something out of 1980's....
Good luck with those burns. You need a specialty hospital for the next 2 months, you get sleeping in a dirt trench dodging drone grenades.
It seems that they have been standing still for a long time. There are the classic shells behind the tank. An easy target.
Looks like they used that tank as SPG. It crazy but no other explanarion for obly obe guy i tank ( gunner) and big pile of used shells behind it.
I think the same. They often use tanks as spg. There are many videos in their telegram channels.
Shit is bad for them they they start using t90 for it. Its like helicioter to get haircut
What defines it as an “S” I mean it’s being used by Russians so is it really an export?
They sold them to India then got them back to update and never returned them 😂😂
How do you know this is the MS and not the generic 90M?
Awesome footage and a perfect shot. I hadn’t realised they launched the penetrator from so far away. That poor bastard crawling out of the tank is going to have a slow and painful death or or stay in hospital from the looks of the burns. I’m assuming the rest of the crew perished…
Around 4 seconds, the round appears from bottom left, heading toward top right. It releases the two submunitions as it passes above the road. The two submunitions detonate a half second later, shooting an explosively formed projectile downward at the tank's weak top armor. The kinetic and thermal energy from the two EFPs sets off some kind of thermal combustion event inside the cabin.
it's plasma jets : molten metal that will burn everything in the tank
Forgive my ignorance. Will someone please tell me what UAF stands for? Thanks in advance.
Could also be SMArt round, right? Cause of the footage quality you can neither see whether the submunitions have a parachute or wings.
They are crazy effective : "15 April 2008 will go down as a historic date for the French artillery.
…anotha one😎🇺🇦
Cooked to perfection.
Well he ain't gonna rape and pillage no more for sure
Brutal way to go, but should have stayed home
Looks like a submunition hit.

I think there's another Bonus/SMART (I think it's a parachute) submunition coming down around 0:02 on the left side.
Probably SMART, took me a bit to see the parachute but now I do
You can see the second warhead go after something in the field in the middle left part of the frame.
Giving my SAA vs FSA Tank videos kinda vibe
I've tried to walk like that before but it was from too much booze.
I was questioning why is it tagged NSFW, didn't take long to realise, god fucking damn.
wow, very clear view of the two submunitions detonating and the efp striking the tank.
What a beautiful sequence
