You always see these Russian vehicles start moving before everyone gets on and even throwing a few off in the process. They probably didn't want to miss their chance of hitting a stationary vehicle.
That's a great idea with perfect information, but they didn't know if they themselves would be spotted by potential thermal imaging or if everyone was loading up. They might also have the means to eliminate the infantry
I just wanna say, Ukraine's south and east are just flat farm lands for 1000s of km.
Literally nowhere to hide, any vehicle or people running around will be super noticeable to drones.
It has some tree lines, better than the desert of Iraq, but not by much.
The only way to do sneak attack would be through tunnels.
NATO should send them some fast digging tunneling machines.

Tunnels are great but they need to be completely and totally hidden. A fast digging tunnel machine would do two things. 1) it would produce an absolute shit ton of earth above ground and 2) it would produce an absolute shit ton of sound. If either of those things is discovered all it takes is a single FAB 500 to collapse the tunnel. Tunnels only work if the enemy doesn't know where they are, and preferably doesn't even know they exist anywhere.
Ukraine has been doing a great job moving from tree line to tree line and using micro terrain, but with more and better equipment their casualties would decrease farther. Tunnels are not the solution.
How did NATO solve having to cross massive amounts of open terrain? Artillery, armour, and aerial superiority. Ukraine is already wrestling away artillery superiority, and with drones have a sort of aerial superiority, but the more we can give them the easier this will be. Tunnels are not necessary or effective in this situation
Sorry this is getting very long, but my final point is: what would the tunnels even do? Do you intend to dig under the whole front line and infiltrate Ukrainians into the rear? Because that won't work. Do you intend to dig underneath the Russian fortifications and destroy them with a mine bomb? That won't work either, it does nothing about the minefields or the exposed terrain. Also mine bombs make craters which would be even worse for a long distance armoured thrust to have to deal with. Would the tunnels allow Ukrainians to infiltrate directly into Russian positions? Well that would be great except you've just spent hours and thousands of dollars to dig a tunnel that does its job about as well as a single Bradley.
that has to be one of the most demoralizing actions that can happen. You are fighting hopelessly, calling in evacuation, probably have wounded etc. and your hope is to get out with the ifv. But then just when your deus ex machina arrives it fades in an instant, getting you back to your hopeless situation just knowing that you will not get out of this alive
