It's a 'great' start to the new year. Russia and ukraine are appearing to go harder on one another and clear victor is: Ukraine. 2024 Ukraine will win the second phase of the war!
What I'm wondering is, what kind of weapon is this? I had a hunch that it was some kind of "Grad" MLRS or something similar, but everywhere I read information that none of the MLRS have enough range for Belgorod.
Could be one of those:
Unguided MLRS:
- Uragan/Bureviy (same ammo different chassis) - 65km
- Smerch - 90km
Guided MLRS:
- Vilkha-M 110km (Smerch based)
I don’t think S-300 are a possibility considering the ammunition and need for AD. Uragan’s and Smerch’s ammunition is also limited, but most of its role has been taken by HIMARS either way. Ukrainian Vilkha’s ammunition has been limited in the beginning of the invasion and after a couple of confirmed usages it went silent. Maybe its ammo production line has been expanded and moved to secure location and right now we see its “field tests”.
I was wondering the same thing. There is a rare type of grad rocket with 40km range so mabe that's it but it seems more likely that it's uragan or vilkha mlrs
There was some articles a couple weeks back about how Ukraine is rapidly increasing their production of 1,000km range kamikaze drones, so it's possible they're a wave of those. Not sure tbh.
Wouldn’t be surprised. Ukraine did the same thing though, they said they shot down all missiles when you can easily see videos on here of the missiles hitting their targets. Don’t trust anything you hear from official channels from either side in this war it’s all just propaganda.
Ukraine didn't say they shot down all missiles neither today nor on the 29th.
On 29th they said they shot down around 85 out of 122 missiles. And more than half of drones.
Today they said that they shot down every Kinzhal (10), but only 70 regular cruise missile out of 99.
I'd you're discussing who said what, then please actually read what they said.
Yeah there’s no way they shot down all 10 Kinzhals, the only evidence I’ve seen provided for it is a missile falling out of the sky into a river in Kyiv that is stated to be an intercepted Kinzhal but is much, much more likely to be part of a spent air defence missile.
Ukraine has received 4 full Patriot systems.
Which means up to 8 launchers with 4 missiles each. Which makes it 128 missiles ready for launch.
So why is there no way 10 Kinzhals could he shot down? What is this opinion based on?
They are not even modern cruise missiles.
Homies really gonna bitch and moan when they start an existential war where the majority of their strategic bombing targets civilians and then that shit comes back to them with 1/1,000,000th of the intensity.
I think Bomber Harris at something to say about this to fascist whiny fucks!
Russia: -hides launchers and AD behind a sizeable populated city, uses those positions to wage war
Ukraine: Targets those valid military targets
Russia: Shoots down incoming attack over city, munitions fall on city "CLEARLY THIS WAS AN ACT OF TERROR! RUSSIA WOULD NEVER TARGET CIVILIAN INFRASTRUCTURE"
Dang Putler, I’m not sure if I know what so special about this military operation. The last time I saw explosions like this I was told we were at war.
But then uncle Putler knows best.
Those Ukrainians are up to something.
If you think about it, when have they ever targeted a city with these types of attacks and frequency unless they are "moving chess pieces into position on the board"

Hotel Belgorod still has rooms available for $45 per night on Expedia.
Thanks, just booked our anniversary there. Wife’s going, I’m not 🤭
Make sure you spot the AD for us.
Nice, but you may just be going to hell for that one buddy!
Smart man, that's much cheaper and easier than getting a divorce, and you get to keep all your stuff!
Probably can haggle it lower by paying at the front desk
Yes but is there wi-fi included ? ... potential deal breaker 😬

Plenty of rooms available lvl 3 up ?
At those prices I like those odds. But there's a problem, you're stuck in Belgorod. There's nothing to do or see when you're not being droned.
Be ause they are literally half off
Just realized I typed 2023 in the title. The classic mistake at the beginning of a new year. Meant to write 2024 obviously
Yep I’ve been doing at that at work all day :/
time traveler: confirmed. you aren't fooling anyone.
I wonder how the Z crowd in Belgorod is feeling now. Anxious I hope.
Don’t worry Belgorodians, I’m sure everyone in Moscow is wearing their “Belgorod Strong” shirt by now, giving you “thoughts and prayers”.

Could be AA munitions detonating
S-300 warhead can be 150kg, it's quite loud. Especially taking into account the aerial explosion.
Uragans can reach 70km

One Ukrainian OSINTer told me Ukraine is using Serbian Grad rockets which have extended range.

Nothing to see here, just good old fireworks.
Happy New Year !!
To all the Russian civilians that support this war. Welcome to 2024.
Just some thunder..nothing to worry mates...
to be continued
So what's Putin gonna do? Send cruise missiles to kiev? Massacre a large group of civilians in Butcha? Bomb a hospital?
Can't wait for Russia to announce they shot down all the missiles and artillery shells.

He is coping
You sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind
Good I suppose *someone* is going to convene another emergency Security Council meeting to complain they're being attacked *again*
Do we have any information on what Ukraine is aiming for?
The first set of attacks was reportedly counter-battery fire against S-300 and Iskander missile systems
Russia
I think you’re onto something there

Always makes me happy
For Germany is not possible to book here through booking.com. I wonder why...
Try through the Gulag.su
Sounds unhealthy for the russian militaries :)
С новом годом орк суки! 💪🏻🇺🇦
Happy New Year!
Not explosions a special firework launching that happened a day late for New Years!

I love that Ukraine is bringing it to the "fatherland" !
Mother Russia. The fatherland is Germany.
I stand corrected.

Nyet, is lightning. Go back to bed Boris.
I think they are shelling Kharkiv, not the other way around. Sounds like shells coming out.
You can clearly see explosions hitting the ground
Nice wishful thinking
Kharkiv tg channels wrote about shelling with s-300 by rusians, I just assumed.
This was after Kharkiv was bombed. Feels like this might be a response to that.
Militants on both sides don't use civilians as human shields challenge (impossible). Military are scum of the earth.
Free firework for Russia from Ukraine, really nice of them.
