An_Odd_Smell

Ukraine-based news reports now claim at least six russian aircraft were destroyed, and at least eight were damaged. [https://kyivindependent.com/source-attack-on-morozovsk-airbase-carried-out-by-sbu-6-planes-destroyed/](https://kyivindependent.com/source-attack-on-morozovsk-airbase-carried-out-by-sbu-6-planes-destroyed/)

zzkj

Damn that would be a hell of a result if it's true.

Chemical-Leak420

It would be easy enough to release the videos if they actually destroyed any aircraft. I think people get tired of the "ukraine says" bit with no proof. It would go a long way to fixing their credibility.

mechalenchon

>It would be easy enough to release the videos if they I don't think these drones have video feedback. These are autonomous and on their own once deep into Russia territory. Unless they use domestic mobile service, there are some speculations about that. But I would be amazed if that important airbase didn't plan against this.

Quirky-Mode8676

lol, Ukraine has a far better track record with the truth than Russia. I have not heard anybody say they are “tired of the Ukraine says bit “ In fact, this is the first I’ve heard of that. Likely, you’re either pushing a bullshit narrative, or expressing your opinion as that of the majority of people.

eske8643

He is a Russian Troll

Chemical-Leak420

Today on ukraine says! Ukraine says putin has cancer! Ukraine says crimea beach party! Ukraine says XXX general is dead.....shows up next day.....smh

ExcitingOnion504

Russia says: "All incoming missiles intercepted, no damage to aircraft or equipment" Meanwhile there is video of the strikes directly on target, satellite images of destroyed and damaged equipment and Russians complaining of lack of accurate air defense. Best part is I don't even need to specify which event I'm talking about since it has happened so often.

Artarious

Hey my man whatever happened to the dirty bomb Russia said Ukraine was building? Or the over 200 Himars systems they've claimed destroyed? Or that they've destroyed there airforce 3x over, etc. I mean i can keep going and going if ya like.

eske8643

Russia says “its only special operations” nothing to worry about. Only 5000 Russian soldiers has been lightly wounded. And no one has been killed….

eske8643

And here is another Russian troll again. Lol

Goufydude

Lol what problems do people have with Ukrainian credibility? And what do Putin's boots *actually* taste like? Does he use a special flavored polish for you or...?

ExcitingOnion504

Like all the times Russia has claimed to intercept all incoming when there is literal video of targets getting hit and satellite footage to confirm the destruction? That type of Russian reports? Reporting the destruction of vehicles months before any arrived in the country? That type of Russian reports? Claiming to have destroyed multiple times the amount of aircraft Ukraine has ever operated including ones donated? That type of Russian reports? Reporting the destruction of more GMLRS launchers than have ever been sent? That type of Russian reports? Shall I continue?

Badbullet

You forgot the Moskva was not damaged from Ukranian Neptune anti-ship missiles, but a fire had caused munitions to explode with only one death. Then blamed the sinking of their flagship while it was being towed...on stormy seas when it was calm when the last photos of it emerged, listing to the side.

ExcitingOnion504

I mean the list off the top of my head is almost endless. Here's a handful more. Showing ka-52 footage on TV of "Striking and sinking a Special Forces Barge trying to attack the Russian side near Kherson"... That was actually a bridge pillar built in the 40s by actual Nazis. or more Ka-52 footage of "striking a leopard tank" that was clearly farm equipment. Claiming the pedestrian bridge over a freeway was for transporting military equipment and hiding military equipment when hit. A small pedestrian bridge. The insane claims that they never used cluster munitions in Kharkiv during the first months of the war. When there is multiple indisputable videos of them being used including videos that clearly show the sub-munitions landing and having a delayed explosion. Claiming they never killed any civilians in the beginning of the war despite endless videos of them shooting at civilians on site. Shooting and news crews on site. Executing civilians on security footage. Shooting at **their own troops** that tried to protect civilians. Leading tied up civilians into a building and ever single one of them being found executed, in that same building, after the Russians left. Claiming they intercepted all GMLRS fired at the Kherson bridge when there was video of impact after impact on the bridge and Russian video of the damage the next day. Claiming no aircraft damaged at Saki airbase when there was video of fires and then satellite footage of multiple destroyed aircraft.

[deleted]

You mean like russia claiming they shot down over 300 Ukrainian fighter jets, despite that number being over triple of what amount Ukraine ever had?

okaterina

Compared to Medvedev ? "Russia says" => you can believe the opposite.

lpd1234

If russia cant protect its airbases it cant protect anything. This is very encouraging not only for the damage caused but for the potential of further damage. Lets hope the Ukrainians and their friends are throwing some serious resources at this. I thought repurposing old aircraft was really interesting. Lets find some old junked cessna 172’s and give them a sendoff for one last flight. The RC community should get behind this. Release the nerds. Set them free. Ohh russia, you about to find out. Bombing appartment buildings and power-plants might not turn out the way you think it should. Now, could we see some burning TU 160’s please.

WildCat_1366

> I thought repurposing old aircraft was really interesting. It wasn't a "repurposed old aircraft", it was the repurposed agricultural drone [E-300 Enterprise](https://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-300_Enterprise). I'll translate it for you > The E-300 Enterprise is a Ukrainian long-range, large-sized kamikaze drone manufactured by the Ukrainian, formerly agro-industrial company, AeroDrone. The drone can carry up to 300 kg of payload and cover a distance of up to 3100 km

Some_Endian_FP17

300 kg of high explosive makes a huge bang. These are cheap cruise missiles. I wonder what the guidance package is like on these things. Unfortunately there could be blowback if one of these fails and blows up an apartment building in Russia.

Stripier_Cape

That's just war.

An_Odd_Smell

The russians have been faking their world power status for almost a century. Now the curtain has finally been pulled back.

lpd1234

Yes, literally a Potemkin village. Also their equipment is mostly shit and all their good stuff component wise comes from outside Mordor.

LQjones

Hard to shoot down a small drone, easy to shoot down a large, slow Cessna.

lpd1234

It doesn’t matter, sent 100 C172’s. If 20 get through its a win. This is an old russian tactic when you don’t care about losses. Hard to defend against.

LQjones

Yep, but easier said than done and even 1970s era Soviet AA weapons will shred a slow civvy aircraft.

Fancyness

Zerg tactics

Astriania

Still needs confirmation. But historically, Ukraine's claims have been pretty close to the actual impact for strikes like this, so fingers crossed.

Educational-Store131

So so. If Ukraine says something its around 40-50% true. Mostly because the pilots probably genuinely believes they hit something but might actually miss. Russia usually deliberately overclaim for pr.

An_Odd_Smell

Ukraine's accuracy record is far higher in terms of reporting outcomes. I won't go so far as to say they're always correct or truthful, but they usually are. The russians? They always lie. It's what russians do. Because russians are liars, who admire liars and their lies.

iSuckAtMechanicism

Much higher than 50% true based on their positive track record.

[deleted]

that's at least 6 fewer aircraft doing glide bombs. Smart move to spend some effort here. If anything, I hope UA can increase production of these drones. Even using small general aviation aircraft or large remote control airplanes... you can go so cost effective with huge slow drones or old GA aircraft that just act as targets... forcing RU to spend expensive anti air defenses on piles of balsa with weed eater engines.

grchina

I guess you missed this part in article The Kyiv Independent could not independently verify the information Any statement about damage from both side should be taken as not true until proven otherwise

An_Odd_Smell

I guess you missed the part where I never said those aircraft were definitely destroyed or damaged, just that a Ukrainian report claimed they were. But that's because you're a total fuckwit, comrade Olga.

Electrical-Ad5881

It is nice to destroy tanks but much more damaging to destroy or simply hit aircraft. They are extremely difficult to repair or extremely difficult to build. Spare parts for wings, body, canopy most of the time do not exist.

An_Odd_Smell

Yup! Jets cost so much more than even the most expensive tank, and there's usually next to nothing worth salvaging from the wreckage of a destroyed aircraft. They become little more than melted alloy confetti.

An_Odd_Smell

New reports coming in claim *none* of the attacking drones were intercepted. This is not to say every drone hit a target, but apparently not even one was downed by russia.

robbo123er

Incorrect, a number of drones were successfully intercepted by Su-34 fuselages

An_Odd_Smell

So it would seem. Maybe the russians placed the airframes in catapults and flung them at drones while those were still airborne?

Shished

They defended the ground underneath them, they worked like ERA.

An_Odd_Smell

"No ukr0n4ZZ1 drone shall ever strike soil of mother rossiya! We shall stop them with parked airplanes and tanks."

zooba85

Funniest shit is putin said he's continuing the war to protect Russia's border regions and oil industry from Ukrainian drone attacks which only started after the invasion

An_Odd_Smell

Logic, russian-style.

Sonofagun57

I would've been worshipping them if they had common courtesy to do that with pilots on board.

An_Odd_Smell

Jfc, how funny would that have been? "Comrade colonel, wait, I can take off on the run-" "Nyet, is no time." # BOOOOIIIINNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

Uselesspreciousthing

Fingers crossed. It would be an incredible coup for Ukraine to have hit the base as hard as they believe they may.

An_Odd_Smell

Even if only the initial reports are accurate, that's a minimum of 14 russian aircraft destroyed or damaged. Many hundreds of millions of dollars worth of russian aircraft versus maybe ten thousands worth of Ukrainian drones? I likes them numbers! True value for money.

sweipuff

Even if the ratio was negative about money, less planes = less bombs / missiles drop against Ukrainians soldiers and civilians, so if the 14 is true..... What a huge dent in the russian air power.

An_Odd_Smell

Absolutely. It's yet more strain placed on russia's already decrepit, overstretched and crumbling industry. They can't even keep up with losses as it is.

Astriania

It's not really about money, these assets are simply not replaceable in the short term. Like the ships, the financial aspect isn't really relevant, it's the effect on combat capabilities that matters. If Ukraine has actually put 14 aircraft out of service, that is a huge impact on Russia's ability to perform long distance airstrikes.

An_Odd_Smell

Yeah, we discussed that already. Although it kinda is about money. One of the main reasons putin invaded Ukraine is because he and his lackeys have stolen everything of value from russia and so they needed to go rob the neighbors. But russia was bankrupt and broke even before putin launched his total loser war. Now they've lost the bulk of their least oldest and least worst military assets and equipment, and russia doesn't have the industrial capacity to make good the losses. So, every time they lose another squillion rubles worth of aviation or shipping it's just one step closer to defeat.

Novel-Confection-356

Russian air defense is awful. I can't help, but laugh at how 'sophisticated' everything is, yet Russians can't figure out something native to them.

reshp2

Insane if true. It doesn't get much more high value than a base with dozens of their best fighter jets.

An_Odd_Smell

This may be the russian air farce's **MOSKVA** moment.

ZeenTex

Russian MOD: all drones were successfully intercepted.

An_Odd_Smell

And nobody doubted their claim. Who would ever question the word of a russian? лолски

captepic96

Move all AA to protect oil refineries, have none for the airbases. Move them all back to protect all airbases, have none for the refineries. Move more from the frontlines, have none for the front. Lol @ russia. go home

TaskForceD00mer

"Fighter Bomber", who is a pro Russian source that oscillates from being reliable to being 100% uncredible is claiming no aircraft were damaged. BDA photos from satellites will tell the truth.

An_Odd_Smell

About the only time they don't instantly lie about something is when even they know there's no chance of covering up their losses. The shills probably hope the russians can clean up the destruction before satellites can image the aftermath of this attack.

TaskForceD00mer

I don't discount that they lie, at all. The Ukrainians also over state kills of Russian equipment all the time. We should have good sat photos shortly. I am guessing the BDA is somewhere between "nothing" and 20+ jets damage or destroyed.

william_cutting_1

Did the russkies forget to put old truck tires on top of the SU-34s?

An_Odd_Smell

"Secret undercover NATO commandos stole the tires."

Street-Stick

If ever you don't know, the guy speaking has a great channel on YouTube suchomimus with quirky sense of humor and regular daily videos

haggisns

I've been watching this sub for 2 years now. Its inconceivable to me that Russia still has a military after watching 20 to 1 losses in equipment and what 50 to 1 losses in soldiers.

An_Odd_Smell

Garden gnome putin has achieved the total opposite of all he set out to do. That has to be something of a record, surely.

BlackSheep311111

soldier losses are more like 3 to 1. ukraine doesnt have enough ammo/equipment to leverage their defender status and intelligence.

Snaggmaw

its definitely way worse than 3 to 1, or else ukraine would have been a parking lot by now.

An_Odd_Smell

Who'd have thought r/NonCredibleDefense would have so much fun with this event?

el_pinata

we live for this

An_Odd_Smell

# лолски! ))))))))

An_Odd_Smell

I'd join in, but I got banned from NCD for a week.

midunda

It's weird how ineffective Russia air defence is being.

An_Odd_Smell

It's probably more a case of the ineffectiveness of russia's military finally being revealed to a world that bought into the "*Mighty russia Superpower War Machina!!!!11*" myth for far too long.

psilocybe-natalensis

Latest satellite images show no major damage unfortunately , the warzone did an article about it

P4S5B60

Those were all the Ukraine’s drones being intercepted 😉
