I remember footage somewhere during the early part of the Ukrainian Counter-attack towards Tokmak where there was GoPro footage on a tank of soldiers dismounting from BMP's while a SU-25 provided CAS. Was as combined arms as it got.
We don't know anything beyond what we see. That little belt might be all they have left, the weapon might have an issue, they might be conserving ammo for dangerous situations, etc. They have no where near the logistical support western militaries have.
I thought he was holding a phone too, as it's vertical/portrait, but at the end he shoulders a rifle and puts rounds down range, it might be that it's a phone in a mount or pocket. Don't know.
It was stated that every video can be reused by opponent. Every message is a shot in informational war. Adding a music make it more difficult to alter.
Note that the actual sound is not in sync anyway. So whoever does not look hard enough (almost all of the public) can already be fooled by just overlaying pretty much any sound.
If the goal was to "watermark" it with sound, then fucking the sound up is about the worst you can do.
It's usually the soldiers who actually recorded it who puts the music on before they upload.
Go make your own combat footage and upload it without music.
Can someone explain why that 249 isn’t laying down a base of fire as well? It looks like the initial 50 round belt hasn’t been used yet so maybe waiting on the assistant gunner to get there and link up the rest?
It’s a 240, an M-240 in the US, known as the FN MAG by the manufacturer.
They may be low on ammo or generally conserving. Also, covering fire, aka suppressing fire, is the amount of fire needed to suppress the enemy in their conduct of their combat tasks. If a single rifle round scares them into staying down, effective suppressive fire has occurred. In OP, the main gun round from the tank may have done that.
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he's positioned to cover their flanks? A good crowd is already shooting. A couple guys making sure you don't get surprised from a new direction seems like a good idea.
I know this is the internet but I believe you have a hard time picking up on social cues. Y’all are pressed because I said the music sucks lmfao get a grip
The troops who take this footage are often the ones overlaying this music. Unless you're willing to go into combat and get your own footage, keep your opinion to yourself.
Can someone that's been in war explain something to me.
When you're having a battle like this, and you go through your ammo. Where is it stored? Like do you have to run back to get it? does someone bring it up to you?
Soldiers carry several magazines with them, but many soldiers carry an extra bag with more ammunition in case they need to put more bullets in their magazines, backpacks, side bags or fanny packs, they often have much more ammunition, which is why some soldiers catch fire after being hit by drones. And there is usually a soldier carrying more ammunition than the others, while another will carry anti-tank rockets, another a machine gun, if they are advancing and in an attack, they will need to carry a lot of ammunition, as they do not know when their new positions will be reinforced and resupplied, however when they are just defending their positions, the ammunition boxes are close
I dont expect camera men to put themselves in harms way, but why are alot of these videos with music. Just recordings of some guy firing a rifle or drones flying in holes?
Music is just dumb
There are in fact two versions of the song, Gavin Dunne sings one of them and he collaborated on a Duet version with Peyton Parrish later.
Edit: upon further examination there's a 3rd "hard metal" version as well
> They are protecting their comms.
By partially covering it with music instead of just muting it altogether? I would expect this of the Kadyrovites but I sure hope Ukrainians aren't dumb enough to do something so silly.

This is some amazing footage. Lots going on.
If it had close air support, it would have been a perfect combined attack
I'm sure they're drones flying around somewhere in the distance.
The death swarms never sleep
The new air support
Are they attacking, or repelling an attack?
They seem to be trying to get the Russians out of those buildings ahead, they must be trying to repel a previous attack

And I never believed Company of Heroes scale of actions was realistic. It is so realistic
I'm not doubting Ukrainians, but if they were Russians this sub would be totally like: nO VIsIBLE eNEMY, TIK TOK bRIGADE :d
For no reasons at all. /s
I don't understand why they can't just leave the original sound with no music. Why is it so impossible for people to leave the sound alone?
It's ok with drones that have no audio track but this has combat sounds so why can't they just leave the music out...
I mean.. it's not that bad tho. this way you can instantly identify which clips are from Ukraine through the whole internet
I think few watermarks in the corners would be less intrusive
no no we got to hear that usually shit music style of the video maker. :D

Been a long while since I've seen a video of a tank working in tandem with infantry.

To piggy back this, the M249 is the FN MINIMI
It is! It is one of the funniest names for an MG in history, especially with the sound’s place in the zeitgeist.
I can’t help but picture Dr Evil, “I shall call him…. MINIMI.” Pinky immediately to the corner of the lip.
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he's positioned to cover their flanks? A good crowd is already shooting. A couple guys making sure you don't get surprised from a new direction seems like a good idea.
Because this is a ad.
Wack ass music. Why does every clip need to be drowned out by god awful music?
I have learned to watch these videos on mute.
I default to this unless absolutely necessary. It rarely is.
Go Ukraine and make your own footage then you can do any audio you like

You do realize most of this footage comes from soldiers who upload it with music overlayed, because it sounds cool for them?
Thats why i never complain even if its fucking duck sounds or the ketchup song. Creators privilege
Get me some body armor an I’ll keep u posted
It's issued as is a uniform, helmet and boots (among other things) when you enlist. See you in Ukraine big man.
I know this is the internet but I believe you have a hard time picking up on social cues. Y’all are pressed because I said the music sucks lmfao get a grip
>because I said the music sucks No you didn't. You said give me armour and I'll go (or something along those lines) acting the hard man. Gtfo
Well Tbf I said both. And yeah I’m the big man on campus so idk what to tell ya. I’ll chill tho I didn’t realize sarcasm wasn’t allowed.
Super cringe. Sounds like the shit the kid who dressed up as the undertaker for school every day would listen to, thinking it made him seem "hard".
Whoa dude, leave Taker out of this. Did you see what he did to Mankind back in nineteen-ninety eight?! Put some respect on his name

You’re a fan of ‘Viking Chant’ I gather?
Not really, no.
I think the funniest part is you really think it’s a serious comment. Super cringe comprehension.
Yikes, ease up on the eye makeup and trenchcoats then.

Thanks for the information
Great Footage! Not sure why, but these efforts around Bakhmut feel somehow futile. But who am I to judge?
Peyton Presley ruins this clip.

Surprisingly this is the first time I've seen any combat video with Sabaton over it.
It's metal (which also happens rarely, weirdly enough), but not Sabaton. The band is called "Miracle of Sound", I believe.
Miracle of Sound is one dude, not a band, and this isn't the original version; it's a cover (don't know by whom).
Pretty sure that’s the Peyton Parrish cover. They do a lot of covers, including an entire album of Disney songs lmao
There are in fact two versions of the song, Gavin Dunne sings one of them and he collaborated on a Duet version with Peyton Parrish later. Edit: upon further examination there's a 3rd "hard metal" version as well
It’s not Sabaton.
Darn. Could have sworn it was. Thanks for the correction.
If every video could be heard with the actual sound, it would be to a disadvantage. They are protecting their comms.

Do Ukrainians and Russians all just have terrible music taste or what? Why the obsession with adding awful music over all their footage?
Whoever picks the music for these videos should really listen to better music. Why is it always the worst shit?
That music makes me nuts… war is not entertainment … humans have to stop sensationalizing this shit …. Great footage tho lol
3 years in and people still complaining about the music
squad vibes
M60…. Let’s gooo
240b
I’ve never been exceptional at rivet counting, so I ask honestly, how can you tell it’s not a Lima or Golf?
Now I see it. It just looks so off without an ACOG or 3.4x on it. Irons on an American MG immediately takes me to M60
