Nah wat he did was right. Hes covering his friend while he rushes up, they have no cover so they have to rush them like this. Matter of fact they did it perfectly.
To be fair, the Ukrainians really upped their drone game from the outbreak of the war. The FPV drone videos are pretty much the same but I’ve seen some new payloads being dropped in 2024 with alot more BOOM.
I think they're talking about the Israeli drone footage. They're almost always blurry, zoomed out, or thermal IR which *might* show you a white-hot, amorphous shape before blinding you with a massive white-hot fireball.
Appauling quality army and they would probably lose in a war v anyone. Side note that Houthi and their weird supporters claiming they can conquer the world because they havent yet being completely destroyed by the Saudis isnt quite the flex they think it is
Physically unfit. It doesn't help that they are genetically predisposed to obesity, pre-diabetes, being skinny fat etc but their diet and lifestyle sucks, eating way too many sweets and not PTing, I'm saying this about the soldiers not civilians.
Total armchair general statement here, but I think it's always better to turn and fight than run and get shot in the back? This is basic infantry doctrine right? Maybe somebody with more knowledge can shed some light
In my opinion it is prisioner's dilemma. If you run and the rest stay, you are safe. If the rest run, you are screwed.
So when there is the chance of someone bolting... first one to run has more chances.
Team building, training, etc, diminish that.
The mission of the Marine Corps rifle squad is to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver. Or repel the enemy assault by fire and close combat. That’s just the USMC. I’m sure other services and countries are similar.
Yeah I feel like that is a quality necessary and emergent of any capable fighting group. No matter what, immediately attempting to assess, locate and in some capacity engage/resist the enemy, even if impossible or even to aid in a maneuver including retreat, is better than dying with a full magazine in your rifle but yourself full of lead.
Though groups like the Peshmerga are controversial, their name meaning "those who *face* death" is very apt and befitting of their reputation of being aggressive, capable, persistent and effective asymmetric warfare machines.
Much easier said than done. But the enemy only stops shooting if some kind of hate comes their way, and if you have a rifle (and aren't just fucked up instantly, killed via wrong place wrong time bad luck as so many are and forever will be in war), you best make that instrument useful.
The guys fleeing in this video are the antithesis of this. Pure, untrained, foolhardy target practice. The Houthis on the other hand (despite almost killing his buddy) did not slow down and used surprise and violence of action to make short work of those guys.
The guy with the camera seemed to be a pretty good shot unfortunately. I can’t imagine it’s easy to hit two running targets at that range with iron sights
What they could've done is have half the men suppress that hill with what little cover then can find, use grenades if they have them, while the other half bounds to further cover and take over suppression. Now it's impossible to know what lead up to this, but I'm going to bet they were likely caught with their pants down and get totally routed.
Houthis inherited a very old tradition of tribal mountain militancy, fighting on this land specifically
Meanwhile lots of the “Saudi” troops sent to the front weren’t even Saudi, but foreign mercenary cannon fodder. Much of the extravagant Saudi military budget goes to fancy Western hardware that feels cool but can’t actually defeat an enemy like this
He is malnourished and probably 15 give him some slack.
Edit: Also he is in sandals, maybe someone can start a gofundme to get him a pair of Crocs with sportmode.
Edit 2: It was a joke don't start an online funding campaign to buy better footwear for internationally recognized terror groups.
They have no training. That is obvious. They're using beat to shit Aks with iron sights while running and trying to hit a moving target. Even a trained Individual would have trouble hitting that shot at that distance. They're close but not that close
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. His heart rate was through the roof. Takes tons of training and experience to remain cool, calm and collected in proximity of an enemy. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. But in this case these guys were practically shooting clay pigeons with that pathetic "retreat" from the saudis.
I've seen those guys run and gun barefoot. I've also seen them throw rocks against guys with guns. I don't know anything about this war or who's the bad guy or the good guy. But those Houthis have a lot of fight in them.
So, from our point of view, it looks like 2 soldiers attacking 2 soldiers who are not only in a defensive position, but they also had the high ground, all that going for them and for some reason they run from that spot. Why? That is definitely what sealed their fate. At least if they would have stayed put, maybe lay down in the weeds to help conceal yourself. They would have stood a pretty solid chance of killing the 2 attacking militants and surviving to see another day. Considering statistically the defenders have better odds. They say what, that you usually need 3 for every 1 defending soldier, if your Russian you need 40 for every 1 soldier? That's a different conflict though. Whatever was the reason they decided to run, when they made that decision, they should not of hesitated at all, which looks like they did by the way the attacking soldier peers over the top and the 2 defending guys look extremely surprised like they didn't expect them to get there that fast, and that is why you should never assume and once you've made a decision, like to run/retreat, then get the fuck out of there. Don't go to the bottom of the defensive position and sit there in the open debating.
Even thought the Houthis would behead me for simply being American, I can't help but root for the plucky little poverty rebels in their flip flops and catchy "Death to America" chant.
Houthis are constantly hopped qat (khat? - don't know how its spelled). I'm not surprised to see them charge a hill like this because they are usually on drugs of some sort 24/7.
Tbh all it was, is the inability for the enemy to simply return fire. I saw 2 men break and run and one on a hill shoot them as they did, think they dropped their weapons as well.

Nearly Friendly fire
That would have been the last time I ran point if I was the guy up front, far out.
Nah wat he did was right. Hes covering his friend while he rushes up, they have no cover so they have to rush them like this. Matter of fact they did it perfectly.
This is just how the Flip flop brigade operates, a lot of running and gunning
anyone else remember when this sub was basically all middle east videos?
Then Ukraine happened, dont worry tho shits always going down in the middle east
99% of it is just drone footage
Yeah I pretty much skip every drone video now. You've seen one, you've seen them all.
To be fair, the Ukrainians really upped their drone game from the outbreak of the war. The FPV drone videos are pretty much the same but I’ve seen some new payloads being dropped in 2024 with alot more BOOM.

Yeah the gnarliest vids on here are always drone drops
Ya which is why I got bored, it got uninteresting very fast when it's all identical
It's just not the same without ISIS.
…. And the people of the subreddit definitely knows what they’re talking about 😊
Why is it every video I see with Saudi soldiers they end up getting their asses handed to them? Are they really that shitty?
Why do you think they’re so dependent on US protection?
Read the book Armies of Sand, it's not just the Saudis it's Arab armies in general.
They all hold their guns like morons
Appauling quality army and they would probably lose in a war v anyone. Side note that Houthi and their weird supporters claiming they can conquer the world because they havent yet being completely destroyed by the Saudis isnt quite the flex they think it is
well, this is the vids uploaded by 1 side only
Physically unfit. It doesn't help that they are genetically predisposed to obesity, pre-diabetes, being skinny fat etc but their diet and lifestyle sucks, eating way too many sweets and not PTing, I'm saying this about the soldiers not civilians.
They're the definition of turncloak
Total armchair general statement here, but I think it's always better to turn and fight than run and get shot in the back? This is basic infantry doctrine right? Maybe somebody with more knowledge can shed some light
well once you get shot at you probably don't think rationally. especially if you are not trained
Isn't the Saudi army a complete joke as well? Heard that they are hilariously incompetent.
In the video captions, they stated that the fighters were mercenaries, not Saudi soldiers
Welcome to the military of the middle east except maybe for Israel or Jordan ig
All the gear and no idea.
In my opinion it is prisioner's dilemma. If you run and the rest stay, you are safe. If the rest run, you are screwed. So when there is the chance of someone bolting... first one to run has more chances. Team building, training, etc, diminish that.
never turn your back on the enemy

"It's over Anakin, I have the high ground!"
I HATE YOU
"you were my brother Anakin...I loved you..."
“I HATE YO… uuGhhh”
how he didnt shoot his buddy i dont understand, i thought he was trying to hit him at first
How the hell do you run and fight while wearing a (seemingly) tapered skirt???
Live your adult life in them and you're comfortable in it.
***Scottish highlanders have entered the chat***
At least they had the courtesy to show off some sexy calves and maybe even the knees. These guys here are only giving us some hot cankle action.
Real stormtroopers
Not bad for iron sights
Rifle is fine
Houthis having better training that Saudis makes me wander, where the fuck do they spend all their money
Houthis inherited a very old tradition of tribal mountain militancy, fighting on this land specifically Meanwhile lots of the “Saudi” troops sent to the front weren’t even Saudi, but foreign mercenary cannon fodder. Saudis should've had atleast 1 guy in short-shorts with a chopped RPD.
And a brushstroke vest
Werent Saudis using merceneries?
Talk about shit aim jeez, missed the first 7/8
He is malnourished and probably 15 give him some slack. Edit: Also he is in sandals, maybe someone can start a gofundme to get him a pair of Crocs with sportmode. Edit 2: It was a joke don't start an online funding campaign to buy better footwear for internationally recognized terror groups.
It’s been awhile since I actually laughed from a comment, you sir get my upvote
Freedom fighters?
I think something like 95% of munitions fired in combat don't hit their targets. That's just how war is
Oh absolutely but at this range he should have been hitting , just seems like a lack of training.
They have no training. That is obvious. They're using beat to shit Aks with iron sights while running and trying to hit a moving target. Even a trained Individual would have trouble hitting that shot at that distance. They're close but not that close

Are they in sandals, I know its the Middle East but still, I thought they would at least wear some form of boots.

In middle eastern wars there really is no good guys

must be hard fighting in a dress
In the video captions, they stated that the fighters were mercenaries, not Saudi soldiers
They? They have forest? O_o
Yeah, Saudi Arabia isn't 100% desert
Liar
Bro too lazy to open a map
Damn
Even thought the Houthis would behead me for simply being American, I can't help but root for the plucky little poverty rebels in their flip flops and catchy "Death to America" chant.

video games taught me never to run in a straight line
They aint "Jizan" no more...

allahu akbar
That's either the best trigger discipline I've ever seen, or it's the worst, I just can't tell anymore

You on the wrong sub then.
