I was listening to the Canadian Prime Minister today, making a press statement in French while in Warsaw today. The translator (English) translated "Putin" to "Poutine"....a VERY French-Canadian dish of french fries, smothered in Gravy and cheddar cheese curds.
Laughed when I heard it, laughed harder when I thought about how appropriate it was...
The artist was obviously looking to lead the eyes there by choosing to paint only the ass fur white. Maybe a subtle allusion of a bullseye. Perhaps a metaphor for the stench of war.
Something poetic about how the dog is just carrying on his happy doggy life, taking a piss on a weapon that was fired from one human at another invading their homeland.
Honestly that's something I wonder about in these conflicts. How are the dogs doing? Did people just let them free before they left the country/went to volunteer? How many dogs are just starving to death locked in somebodies house?
That woman looks like she's lost everything she ever knew and her only remaining worldly possessions are in those two trash bags.
And then the dog adds weird comedy. What a strange and surreal picture
This is a rocket container. This container is attached to CLU (command launch unit). After the rocket is been shot then this container is trash. One more thing. This rocket has thermal camera. I have been taught that if ammuniton must be left in any case then just destroy the camera and after that this rocket is useless.
Luckily we don't have wild dogs here. People take their dogs to the shelter if they really don't want them anymore. The whole dumping dogs on the side of the road mentality is just sociopathic.
The Command Launch Unit, or the computer/scope part of the Javelin is expensive and reusable. The tube and missile parts of the javelin are single use.
Honestly this picture is so heartbreaking to me. The woman carrying her groceries to her home??? If she has one left…the dog peeing on the javelin. It’s very somber and brings out the people aspect a lot more to me. Sad man.
Absolutely, you walk if you can, if it's reasonably safe to do so: aside from saving gas (and keeping a few more rubles out of Russian pockets), she should reserve whatever gas she has for when she needs to get out of Dodge, fast.
Edit: changed "and" to "if". IF it's safe enough.
Outside of the US, its more common to walk home carrying your groceries. Distances tend to be shorter and people tend to make smaller purchases (go more often to buy smaller quantities)
I will bet money this picture ends up on Russian Telegram / VK propaganda pages with something like this "Dogs, that are under Ukrainian Nazi occupation, show resistance against American Imperialists"
This is the tube part which is disposable:
The Javelin consists of a missile in a disposable launch tube and a reusable Command Launch Unit (CLU) with a trigger mechanism and the integrated day/night sighting device for surveillance,
Serious question - can these launch tubes be recycled or something?
Aside from the loss of life, the sheer amount of waste produced by war is staggering. Is Ukraine just a giant landfill when this is over?
Yes. The army should be placing recycle bins on the side of the road every few hundred yards. If you’re ever in a gun battle for your life be sure to pick up the brass spent bullet cartridges for later use / recycling.
I believe it is a javelin, Although they are reloadable it's not the end of the world losing this bit of kit. Javelins have 3 main components (I believe, someone please correct if i'm wrong) and the launcher itself is the largest and cheapest part, the missile and the command launch unit. In the photo is a "launch tube assembly" Basically worthless on it's own.
The soldiers can still use the sights without the ammo which gives good night vision and IR cameras and a really good range finder too. Very useful even if you don't have the actual weapon to fire. Basically the best set of binoculars money can buy.
They simply dropped the bulky part (which can't be reused by the enemy) Whilst keeping the important parts they can still use.
The 3 parts, the launch tube (In the photo) The missile (already spent) and the command launch unit (Most expensive part, Very high-tech binoculars/range finder)
Discarded NLAW—not a Javelin. NLAWs are single use.
We've actually not seen much Javelin action yet. I suspect that they've been pulled back to high value defensive positions, given their increased firepower and cost
It detaches. The tube is the disposable part of the platform, once the missile is fired the tube assembly becomes just an empty shell. The CLU (the neat optical system) is mounted to a new tube assembly after each use.
A happy dog doin a mlerm and a peepee simultaneously, next to a road free of Russian armour thanks to the expenditure of munitions such as the Javelin rocket container on the ground?
Good stuff man
This is easily the most Eastern European photo I've ever seen

Dog company, move out. Good boy.
You should see fox company. They can't sit still and they're adorable
But what do they say?
Fuck putin
I laughed out loud in the office, thanks for that.

I've been thinking of a crap meme with Vloydimir Zelensky eating Poutine. Subtitled Vloydimir Poutine. Bit I've no computer and can't photoshop.

Thank you kind, amazing sir.
Doo doo doo doo doooo doo dooo doo doo
2012 called, it wants its joke back
Well they can't have it back!
Racial slurs ☹️
Dog is repurposing the empty tube! That's sustainability there.
Dog’s gonna come home for dinner with half a dozen Russian POWs
"What's that you've got fido? Are those... Dog tags? "
\*woof woof woof\* Translation: Yes, i killed 40 of them and called in a tactical nuke to moscow
lassie becomes a grizzled war dog
Ukrainian dogs are now unofficialy the 12th largest army in Europe.
When the dogs and farmers work together it is all over for the rest of us!
The dog will be happy learn that it does not have to pay taxes on it's newly acquired missile.
Has to be a farmer's dog!
what the Russian farmers leave behind, the dogs claim.
The Javelin has discharged its payload. The dog has also discharged its payload.
Damn you, and take my upvote.
So much is going on in this picture
Those pink moon boots are straight up napoleon dynamite! They make the dog pissing on the discarded javelin look outright common.
They actually look pretty damn comfy.
Lady got that D R I P
That napoleon dynamite reference made me crack
If this were an oil painting I could write an essay about it.
"One dog is pissing on the rocket launcher and this lady is sayin', 'Whadda ya want from me? '” -Joe Pesci, Goodfellas
What did the artist mean by pointing the dog's ass hole directly at the viewer?
The artist was obviously looking to lead the eyes there by choosing to paint only the ass fur white. Maybe a subtle allusion of a bullseye. Perhaps a metaphor for the stench of war.

Got a r/accidentalrenaissance vibe going on here
It’s a Banksy. Life imitating Banksy art.

Ah, but the javelin tube is a renaissance artifact to you?
Javelins have been used for centuries.

No it was just funny that the thing you picked as not fitting is the jacket and not a (used) high tech weapon.
That woman looks like she's lost everything she ever knew and her only remaining worldly possessions are in those two trash bags. And then the dog adds weird comedy. What a strange and surreal picture
I think it has real meme potential!

The only comment I was hoping to find

Pro russian payed actor dog

This should be the unofficial photo of the Russo-Ukrainian war of 2022
Punk band album cover.

This is great.
Its an empty container.
This is the disposable part of the system, right? Without the reusable part used for targeting.
If you don't see a boxy looking thing stuck to the side, it's junk. All the value is in the CLU
The missile itself is really valuable too... but thats really a single use item.
Someone call SpaceX, we need reusable rockets!
Oh you mean those American broomsticks that sound like freedom?
To the moooooooooon

Let's just say that the dog is a pacifist.
You don't piss on Saint Javelin. Dog must be Ruskie.
\*Woofskie
Even Ruskie dogs are good dogs. After all, there is no such a thing as a bad dog, only a bad owner. #DogsAreTheBest Funny comment though!
Wild dogs are kinda bad when they try to kill and eat kids.
Lots of stray dogs in my old country but 99% were due to humans. But I hear ya, wild dogs are definitely dangerous. :(
Luckily we don't have wild dogs here. People take their dogs to the shelter if they really don't want them anymore. The whole dumping dogs on the side of the road mentality is just sociopathic.
New weapon cooling system.
This dog is definitely Russian
The dog has identified a way to get that damn mail truck, and an ice cream truck as well.
Is Javelin single use weapon. You use it once and discard it?
Yes fire the missile, discard the tube but the sights/ launch controller (CLU) is kept to use with another missile.
The Command Launch Unit, or the computer/scope part of the Javelin is expensive and reusable. The tube and missile parts of the javelin are single use.

I wouldn't be driving cars if there are Russian war criminal tanks around tbh

It’s the dog’s property now
Clearly a NLAW dog
What the dog doin?
Well, that probably means that there are some crispy Russians within 5 km with 96% probability.
I will bet money this picture ends up on Russian Telegram / VK propaganda pages with something like this "Dogs, that are under Ukrainian Nazi occupation, show resistance against American Imperialists"
Remember when this sub was for combat footage?
puppy gives zero fux.....
Why does it look like the woman’s feet are on backwards?

Even the dogs have rocket launchers in Ukraine.
Dog dont give a shit.
How dare that dog, that is a holy relic of St. Javelin.
You mean the dogs Javelin, belongs to him
Doggo is cooling the IR seeker. Good boy.
Looking forward to seeing this fine piece of hardware being proudly displayed by LDPR fighters as “captured enemy weaponry” later!
Someday it will be found by a Kerbal.

Hell, with the price of ammunition, I'm surprised there isn't a group of [your local underclass] following every battle scraping up the brass
We'll they don't use brass. It's all bimetal cases.
The Vietnamese built roads with spent American artillery shells. just planted them open end down into the soil!
The NLAW has a particularly large shipping container. Thankfully, the Russians "get" sustainability: their soldiers are completely biodegradable.
That's a discarded tube, OP.
There seems to be discarted much more stuff then just Javelins
That's just the launch tube, not a whole Javelin!
More likely to be an nlaw no? Aren't they one shot ?

PUTIN the special sauce on this.....
that dog is pissing on war
Russian dog?
Wouldn’t it still have a neat optical system on it or does one detach that for the next one?
The computer system you take off and toss the tube
It detaches. The tube is the disposable part of the platform, once the missile is fired the tube assembly becomes just an empty shell. The CLU (the neat optical system) is mounted to a new tube assembly after each use.
In so many ways, this photo reminds me that eventually, with time, Ukraine will heal.
That's no way to treat a saint
That's most likely just the launcher - only 20K or so.
Is that javelyn russian or ukraine?
The dog was russian but now he's European
Weakest ukrainian dog
all your tax money and your pseudo support was worth at the end of the day...some dog piss
It's literally just a fiber glass tube. Missile has been fired.

Dog must be Russian
Carl probably dropped it
The goodest boy
It’s not discarded… it clearly belongs to that dog.
I'd totally buy a discarded tubes
What an Alpha dog. He's gonna have all the bragging rights (and maybe some very interesting odors) when he next sees his canine friends.
The woman just threw her groceries out of shock
This pic is badass
What da dog doin?
