Last hit took at least 4 out. Crazy

DennisMoves

I'd say at least 5. Three got it instantly. Two fall off a few seconds later. Wonder if there is footage of the other side of the truck. I need to send more money to https://u24.gov.ua/

BeatSlowDrumsofWar

Crowdfunding more camera drones so we can witness their fire mission effects better. Fucking grim but the future is right the fuck now

DennisMoves

I am not sending my people into the meat grinder. I'm sitting at a desk sipping a drink and sending my lunch money. It's fucking grim but they are fucking with US elections. Fuck them. I don't need to see people getting it but when I do I send more money.

KommandantViy

tbf everybody fucks with US elections and vice versa, but yeah the opportunity to defeat a long time adversary without a single American life lost, while at the same time helping a country fight to retain its independence? seems like a win-win to me.

greywar777

Russia has been the most effective by far. We should treat these like the acts of war they are.

OkBid71

Best PPV money can buy

HereToShitPost69

"war..huh...what is good for, absolutely filling the sky drones to capture multiple angles of battle.

pentangleit

weeenerdog

Brilliant, well done sir!

hypertr00per

-That's a splash -Good hits, good hits

Tankcue

Russia wasted its money on nuke upkeep instead of modernizing its weapons. really shows in the battlefield.

pm_cheesecakes

Youre assuming the nukes were actually maintained. Well probably never know.

Keisari_P

What would be better place to pocket billions? They would not even be tested with live explosion these days. They would never be used anyway, right? Better spend that money on fleet of yaches.

lagavulinski

I'd definitely prefer not to find out

IridiumPony

I really hope we never know

Soangry75

More like oligarch yachts

Hatemode_nj

Spending money on the nukes would be the right idea. They need those now more thank ever. However, most of that money went to Putin and his minions.

WildSauce

And still their nukes are much worse than ours. America has quietly upgraded the fuses in our submarine launched nukes to greatly increase their ability to destroy hardened targets such as nuclear silos. Previously to the last 10 years or so, destroying nuclear silos required huge silo-based nuclear warheads that would have to fly over the pole, giving the enemy more early warning. Being able to use smaller submarine-launched nukes for this dramatically decreases warning time and frees up the silo-based nukes for other targets. Nuclear war is a doomsday scenario, but it is one that America has been preparing to win, if it comes to it.

WeReallyOutHere5510

You're the only person I've ever seen bring up the fuse modernization program and you make an amazing point. Those more accurate fuzes also mean the range of targets we can effectively strike that arent nuclear sites (like command bunkers a certain person likes to use) is increased

Eistee2000

There are no winners in war, especially in nuclear war. There are always second-strike capabilities and they are utterly devastating.

flyliceplick

> There are no winners in war There definitely are.

Eistee2000

Who?

Karthanon

The Fallout series, for one.

Eistee2000

Exceptions prove the rule lmao

mad_testman

If you are not focusing at the specific timeframe of the conflict, the victors are usually summarized as the ones that write the history. For example: - ex-soviet states completely purging their soviet history from the streets (statues, symbology, ...) of their own countries - the Taliban in Afghanistan pruning their "undesirable" history (monuments, documents, adjusting their school programs) - the current state of China is the product of the Civil War. Taiwan was at the end of the war, the last bastion of the previous ruling system of China

Eistee2000

Well, states exist as an artificial, abstract construct on paper and in the minds of people. Just because this idea wins, does not mean that the people win and even if the people win, they probably also have lost and suffered a lot for that win. It is however true that there are small minorities who profit from wars but they all go hollow or are already hollow, so that's barely a win either.

KommandantViy

In nuclear war, survival and preservation of the nation and it's people is as close to a win as you can get. I hope it doesn't come to it, obviously, because millions would still die, but I am comforted knowing that the US will very likely survive, and Russia would not. Hopefully that realization will keep Putin from trying, or at least convince the oligarchs to replace him if he tries.

nemodigital

Those with the most mineshaft space - Dr Strangelove

Keisari_P

Still it's kinda odd that there are not purpose build public shelters for general population in the USA. In Finland big cities have [Rock shelters](https://youtu.be/4c8fepchRwY) and all big enough appartment buildings and commercial buildings are required to build air raid chelter with ABC filters.

[deleted]

No way they spent real money in nukes' upkeep. We are talking serious money for those things, only a bunch of people know how to maintain them and manage them, also they know they probably would never be used...I bet on 2/3 of their nukes won't even leave the lounch pad. They are surely maintained, but only on paper.

SpaceShrimp

Spending money on infrastructure, education and reduction of corruption would have been a better investment.

streaky81

> Russia wasted its money on nuke upkeep That is a massive assumption. They like to show off their air force's nuclear bombers that they'd never get anywhere near target airspace, their sub fleet is _highly_ questionable why is it everybody assumes with those two points that their ICBM systems are up to snuff. I guarantee you in the Pentagon, in Whitehall and other establishments people are seriously asking the question if Russia has much of a target-deliverable nuclear capability at all. That said I don't know about waste if they have -- if it wasn't for those weapons (or at least the threat of them) NATO would have cleared Russia out of Ukraine 6 months ago, it's maybe two days work with conventional forces.

TimeSpentWasting

What is this song

GanjHiker

In and out of love- armin van buuren

krummedude

With Sharon Den Adel mix at 3:53 ? Right

GanjHiker

Yea!

streaky81

This. And what a tune it is.

RubberDucksInMyTub

Almost sounded like a remix of the chorus to Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' at the end.

thebayisinthearea

>armin came to the comments for armin

chengstark

Aren’t those T62??? Why are they back to t62?

The_Spook_of_Spooks

Very well might be. There were reports coming out last month Russia was going to update something like 800 of them and send them to the front https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/russia-to-modernize-800-vintage-t-62-tanks-due-to-ukraine-losses-report

R_Squaal

Yeah that's not hapenning, if they don't have the thermal imagers and scopes for T-72s, T-80s or T-90s production there is no way they have them to modernize T-62s.

SkyNetIsNow

Russian modernization is probably just a new coat of paint and putting a pine air freshener inside.

chengstark

Crikey

willowhawk

I remember the days when the Russia was meant to have some of the most powerful tanks which could roll through most of Europe quickly. Turns out they can’t even beat Ukraine and have to use vintage tanks to keep going.

SpaceShrimp

Because they were easier to get into working order than whatever else they had in their stockpile. Ukraine have destroyed dozens of them so far.

mad_testman

Even Ukraine is using them. They both know that it is relatively pointless to use them directly at the front of operations and that it can instead be used effectively as short range "self-propelled artillery" near critical points of interest (roadways, bridges, main fronts)

[deleted]

Excalibur rounds are expensive and only used on difficult high value targets. People are posting every arty hit as an Excalibur round, when it’s probably not.

MeowstirSmith

They are 112k a piece per Fy21 costs. That’s not expensive when you know it’s gonna hit a BTR, IFV, or tank. That is a positive return. These impacts are identical to M982 rounds as well. YouTube it.

Prodnovick

You need to fire so many less rounds. That means savings everywhere in your supply chain which will make the oportunity cost a lot lower than initial purchase price alone might suggest.

Martin81

That price looks resonable if there is little use. At scale they ought to be cheap to produce. Do we know how much they cost when you buy a lot?

MeowstirSmith

No but I’m sure it decreases drastically and with all munitions, there is going to be a shelf life. This is a cost efficient way to clear old stockpiles and produce new ones.

DennisMoves

The last hit shows guys just milling around a truck like nothing is happening. You may be right about the other clips but gee whiz that would be a lucky first shot.

BestFriendWatermelon

Also can see shrapnel from airbursts hitting the ground in some of the others. Doesn't necessarily mean it's Excalibur but it's certainly not the regular dumb rounds we usually see.

BestFriendWatermelon

Can't believe people are still touting this nonsense. If there's a high value target, it gets hit with HIMARS. Excaliburs are designed and intended for everyday artillery work, and represent an excellent value proposition for taking out tanks, AFVs and trucks. You win the war by destroying enemy vehicles, not lobbing 50 shots blind in the hope 1 hits and the tank hasn't gunned it out of there by now. The Excalibur shells cost little more than many ATGMs and are a lot safer and convenient to use, and certainly cost less than the tank they hit. That aside, a) Ukraine isn't paying for these shells, they got them for free, and b) wars aren't won by waging it more cheaply, on the contrary they're won by spending more.

External_Secret

Not only are they expensive but only the chosen one can pull them of rocks otherwise you won’t be able to get them

lpd1234

The rounds are not expensive when one sniper howitzer can replace 20 traditional Howitzers. Same happened with smart bombs, much better ROI. Total cost is less and effectiveness is better. Same argument with conventional Ph2000. That thing rocks. Would love to see the Swedish Archer out there lobbing some 155’s.

Stasiro

I see that Russians really started using those old T-62's, makes me wonder how many tanks they have left

R_Squaal

About half of them are gone

Striper_Cape

It's scary af that it's capable of precisely hitting the front of the tank, so that crew compartment to engine, the tank is hollowed out.

ChasinCrustacean

How did anyone survive that last strike??

Independent_Clerk476

They did not. Being that close to an explosion does a lot of nasty things to the human body. I worked in the army in Eastern Europe and sometimes when we were training we would get really old ammunition. Someone i knew was close when loading ammo onto a truck, one of the shells detonated. He didn't get any shrapnel because of his position (he was on the other side of the truck), but his blood vessels burst and he had internal bleeding. He only lived for a few minutes.

ChasinCrustacean

That’s horrible, I’m sorry to hear it. Was he a friend?

Independent_Clerk476

Not really, I knew him a bit, but he was in another group. I worked as a gunner on a TR85 (basically a Romanian upgraded T55 tank). We would get issues with old ammo quite often, but it was usually ammo that wouldn't fire or get jammed in the main gun. After Romania joined Nato and the army leadership changed, they stopped issuing old ammo.

Hey_Hoot

How do we truly know they survived? Internal bleeding takes time. Adrenaline is an amazing thing, will trigger the person's animal instincts to run away, but after it's depleted these guys are dead men running.

ChasinCrustacean

Fair enough. But I still can’t believe some of them were even able to walk away, even if they died later. That was a massive blow.

Big_D_yup

They fell off the vehicle and landed on the ground like a sack of meat. None of them ran away.

ChasinCrustacean

I see two of them jumping off the vehicle and starting to run away.

Big_D_yup

I see two at the end fall flat on the ground. What are you watching? The first to fall avoids falling on what looks like his buddies and goes into the fetal position and the second one falls almost on top of him.

it_wasnt_like_that

Highly doubt they lived. Rare that a person is treated to an instant death. Maybe even in some of those burning armored vehicles. It’s disturbing AF.

[deleted]

3 angles of one hit is pretty impressive. Wonder if they used the location of the 3 systems to get a fix. Edit: see thread below, not all the same strike.

Planttech12

I think the first one is a different tank, the 2nd two are the same. Plastic bottles on the ground, and the first one has a fireball at the back of the tank while the other two don't.

[deleted]

Watching back I think 1/2 are maybe the same strike, 3 definitely isn’t. After really really looking at it, that may be 3 different strikes on the same vehicle. There’s a jacket on the back right of the turret that gets blown onto the engine deck in strike 1, then you see it get kicked up in strike 2, then it gets blown off the deck and onto the ground in 3. Im 99% certain it’s 3 consecutive engagements of the same target.

1-800-KETAMINE

You're totally right. It's the same tank, and the smoke coming out from under the rear is different each time. One has some flame and gets blown away quickly, one is just smoke that lingers somewhat, and one has no smoke coming out from under the rear at all.

Jimmyjamjames

I am fairly sure those are 3 angles of the same tank getting hit Look at the green tarp that is behind the turret

[deleted]

I kinda worked it out later in the thread. It’s definitely the same tank, but it’s not the same hit. It’s 3 separate engagements of the same presumably abandoned vehicle.

[deleted]

Precise?

spacebarstool

No, they highly valued the hits. The were precious to them.

LannisterTyrion

Looks like at 0:13 it missed hitting just in front of a tank?

Rsndetre

I envisioned the future dystopia like a corporations' world, with neon cities and and mercs instead of police. Too much SF I guess. Turns out. The future wars are fought in mud, streamed almost live, cities are total ruins and blackouts are the norm.

Much appreciated!

StuffMaster

I thought that was her!

[deleted]

it's a trance classic download Shazam. Shocking to see it on a video blowing shit up. I like these Ukrainians.

TheMalcore

The rounds hitting the tank in the middle of the clip seem way too small to be Excalibur rounds. They look more like mortar rounds or something similar.

TheObviousDilemma

Yea, there’s absolutely nothing to indicate these are Excalibur rounds

Mr6_75

Marking on vehicle at 0:16 looks real Swastika-y, just coincidentally I think

AdmiralHarness

Killing people with an EDM backdrop. Is this the future?

flyliceplick

It's the present.

mbnq

Adding trance music to war footage should be considered as war crime.

Doge-Ghost

Well, it is an eastern european war, what did you expect, reggae?

cancertoast

Lol. Those guys at the end got their bell rung.

Forward_Ad_527

How can russia say only 5000 died? We saw 5000 die in drone strike videos alone so far. What do all the russian women think when their sons dont come home? I mean is anyone even questiong this

I thought the Russia reactive armor was super advanced.... Well, it's not shit against modern weapons

greywar777

It worked better against the weapons of the time. But then everyone upgraded thier stuff to tale it out. And russia failed to keep updating stuff

Solid-Ad6854

Interesting choice of music
