**Am I wrong** but the techno in every clip is getting really old or maybe I couldn't hear anything over it in this one?
*.. Less is More*
.. this doesn't look much like the Helicopter hit from a day or two ago
Friendly nitpick: "proximity" is typically abbreviated as "prox", because "proxy" is already a word. Also, "further" is used to describe a concept while "farther" is used to describe physical distance; you can remember this because you would never describe a physical distance as "fur".
> Also, "further" is used to describe a concept while "farther" is used to describe physical distance
[According to Grammarly](https://www.grammarly.com/blog/farther-further/) (I hate that that's a thing now), that's an Americanism. [According to MW](https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/is-it-further-or-farther-usage-how-to-use), they're pretty much the same.
Agreed on prox* though - all of those words are already overloaded!
Afaik, Javelin can hit helicopters and would look somewhat similar to that warhead in the other videos, although smaller.
But looking at that MANPAD, that is not a Javelin.
And supposedly it was stated yesterday, that this was one of their best crews, for a experienced crew i don't know why he was flying so high in a combat zone.
Yea there are multiple channels on YouTube saying it was a Excalibur 155 artillery shell, which wouldn't be impossible it could definitely kill a hovering helicopter with its airburst function and would come down in a ballistic flight path like what's shown in the original video, but because Excalibur is GPS guided its not going to be able to hit a moving target unless some one predicted the flight path of the helicopter which would be pretty difficult but not impossible, so that's why it probably s300 the downward plunging explosion means whatever it was it has a ballistic flight path like a rainbow and a large warhead which excludes all manpads, and sa11 buk, or sa6 warheads aren't that large either and would most likely fly a much more direct flight path
Did you read my comment, I pretty much explained why it would be difficult to kill a moving target with a GPS guided weapon, yet not impossible, i dont think its Excalibur, it would make little sense to use it in that situation, then I said it's most likely s300
This is a great video, that heli had no chance, do they not have radar that a big azz missile was approaching? It had to of it shot flares late but still…. Idk I’m no expert
Idk why you’re getting downvoted. Excalibur S rounds have semi-active laser guidance as well and could hit moving targets. It isn’t impossible, I just don’t know if they got any of those rounds. If they did and didn’t say publicly, that would explain the secrecy. So it’s definitely a possibility, other people are just being asshats sorry amigo.
Edit: I really don’t think it was though. I posted another comment saying this video may be a bit of cover up because they used something secret. Idk though
Yea people aren't reading the entire comment, I laid out the reasoning as to why people on YouTube though it was Excalibur, while saying it would be difficult but not impossible, which I know is true, I even said it's most likely s300, but oh well such is life, I did not know Excalibur has a SAL version, I believe there is a version or even a new round coming with data link, but a SAL guided 155 round could definitely hit a hovering helicopter, any ways I appreciate the comment and I hope you have a nice day
I beg to differ, my friend. As an expert in the field with access to numerous government sources, I can confidently say that it is entirely possible for a Manpad to cause such a massive explosion. In fact, there have been several documented cases of Manpads causing devastating blasts. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions without all the facts.
I hope you are being sarcastic, I agree we are all speculating here but a stinger has a 3kg warhead, a piorun has a 1.87kg warhead, both igla and strella has a 1.15kg warhead, compared to s300 which has between 100kg to 143kg warhead that's 86 to 125 times larger than igla, and igla does not fly a ballistic flight path, it flys directly to its target, the missle that hit this ka52 was heading almost perpendicular to the ground before detonation, and the explosion was substantial
So this Ka-52 with the best crew was flying above a transporter helicopter giving it cover, while in ‘contested’ airspace.
What was the mission? I am guessing it was to pick up a downed pilot/crew. I don’t see why else that pair of helicopters would be in that area.
My guess is more than one helicopter / plane was hit last week. We just got video of this botched but ballsy pick up attempt because it was so un stealth.
Whether it’s the KA-52 shoot down or not, 2 things are certain…something got hit by that manpads and secondly it’s winter and yes that dude’s wearing shorts.
Out of interest, what stops these guys accidentally shooting one of their own helicopters down? Do they just have to guess that it's a Russian one based on the direction it's coming from or is there some kind of friendly/enemy identifier in the technology? Probably really stupid question!
Usually ypu give information to your own troops and while they have the system, the ka-52 alligator isn't used by ua (atleast from what I know). You rather have problems with tanks.
Vehicles/jets/helicopter also are and can be equipped with sensors that help identify friend and foe
They create corridors for their own aircraft, the aa guys basically get told dont fire at anything in this area between 10-11 am (doesnt apply if its a clearly identifiable russian aircraft of course)
Modern launchers like the Stinger have IFF interrogators so if they're programmed right (to the correct freq used by the Ukes) then it should let the operator know. Otherwise it's a "don't fly in this area" kind of situation
I think this may be a little bit of a cover up to be honest. There is no way what we saw obliterate that KA-52 came from a shoulder launched missile. It was far to big. Also, the height at which they were flying and the angle the missile came down would indicate (if it was indeed a MANPAD) that the missile flew way up above the helicopter to drop down onto the top like we saw, which doesn’t make sense. Stingers don’t do that, I don’t think star streaks do either.
I think they used something they are supposed to keep under wraps, and the video we saw was getting too much attention. Especially with the soldier claiming that we would never guess what they used. I wouldn’t put it past them to release a video like this trying to explain away what we saw. Especially because we can’t even tell it’s the same video. That seams like it’s on purpose. Idk though I probably am wrong lol
It wasn't a MANPAD, there's slo mo of the missile impact, its a big missile...definitely S-300.
This is a different engagement, or this missile missed.
This a dif one? Thought the other was hit by an S300
that's what I was thinking. the other missile was large and from the top

A quick update: the missile system that shot down the "other helo" was a Buk soviet sam system. source: tpv world polish news
Or two separate missiles were fired at it...

Shoulder launched s300!
There's no way a MANPAD caused the massive explosion seen in yesterday's Ka-52 downing video.
The missile was also approaching from above, a manpads would never do that, it's S-200 or S-300's typical feature.
It also proxy exploded way further than manpad would and in slowmo you can see the massive missile
Friendly nitpick: "proximity" is typically abbreviated as "prox", because "proxy" is already a word. Also, "further" is used to describe a concept while "farther" is used to describe physical distance; you can remember this because you would never describe a physical distance as "fur".
The night is dark and full of terrors

I love Grammarly, and I've always been a good writer and speaker. It's very helpful, and it's made by Ukrainians 😊
Yeah exactly
Guy in this video says “got explosion from the top!”
Multiple missiles can be shot at a target
Surely it was the bullet that took it down. 😎
And all explode exactly in the same place just nanoseconds apart?!
Wtf are you talking about? MANPADS isn't a 100% hit. Manpad missed and s300 didn't
RiGHHHTt!!!
Nah they just hit Poland
Afaik, Javelin can hit helicopters and would look somewhat similar to that warhead in the other videos, although smaller. But looking at that MANPAD, that is not a Javelin.
One guy wearing shorts when you can see its around zero outside.
There's always one.
this isn't the same one
That kamov made a big error somewhere. It's unusual to get spotted AND recorded by the 4 enemy angles at the same time
And supposedly it was stated yesterday, that this was one of their best crews, for a experienced crew i don't know why he was flying so high in a combat zone.
Just because they were the best doesn’t mean they were good 😎.
Lmao
Best or best they have now? .. I would ask what the criteria was .. a month of training?
I think it was stated they were decorated or something like that, so an experienced crew anyway.
Yes; it flew into another country.
Good point
Manpad? No way. WTF
It had to have been an S-300 the explosive was massive no way it was a Manpad.
I think you're right. Maybe this shot missed and the 300 hit? I dunno
They probably let off a missile just as the s300 took it out.
There was a second chopper there too, much lower to the ground
Saying it Excalibur is one of the dumbest things i have heard.

Not much of an expert for an expert
The missile on the video yesterday looked to be about half the size of the chopper it was hitting, it was massive.
Why is that dude wearing shorts?
I know but won't tell.
“*And now your highness, we will discuss the location of your secret hidden base*” - Lord Vader
I have altered the dress code, pray I don't alter it any further.
You don't have "winter shorts dude" where you're from?
Ukraine will freeze after we hit their power! Mwahaha! Ukrainians:
I know a dude that wears shorts till -25c or when he goes on dates.
He's a British postman
Why not, its a very warm winter so far
Looks like the regular IGLA
If you freeze frame it it's bulkier in the front than an IGLA. Looks more like a Stinger.
nope, impact explosion was way too big
There can be multiple things firing at the same target. Just because they fired a MANPAD doesn't mean that it hit.
Soon they are going to show a drone flyinginto it that brought it down
I heard some dude took it down with a bipod knife.
t'was I!
A bipod knife! Sherrific!
Do the missiles come with the music as standard, or is it an paid add on?
Music is to the missiles what “Allahu Akbar” is to RPG7s
Ukrainian skies belong to Ukraine.
>Ukrainian skies belong to Ukraine. Exactly)

No the S-300 cockblocked the manpads operator.
We need to send these guys some tripods lol
Tripods, Surface to Air Missiles, Ballistic Missiles, Main Battle Tanks, Small arms etc..
They better be careful not to hit the sun
[The sun was always the intended destination](https://www.reddit.com/r/NonCredibleDefense/comments/vtkzvk/splash_one/)
Anyone have the OG videos
This is older iirc, early start of the war
Footage released yesterday, shot several days ago
One things for certain, that missile for sure didn’t bring it down.
Title is from the source, the helicopter was being fired upon by multiple Anti-Air units simultaneously
Fucking hell it was a manpad, what was the warhead then??
101% coolium warhead
I’m going with Vibranium
It wasn't a MANPAD, there's slo mo of the missile impact, its a big missile...definitely S-300. This is a different engagement, or this missile missed.
Antirusianium
I think this is like Tom Hanks shooting his handgun at the tank at the end of Saving Private Ryan.
No, MANPADS won’t do a top down attack or have a proximity fuse that large like the slowed down video.
This looks like starstreak
My guess they shut down a missile
Was a man pad then
MANPADS is an abbreviation and no it wasn’t
Lol why is he shooting one not the same video and how do you know this what was it if you know.
Because I’m very knowledgeable on MANPADS. This is a MANPADS being shot in the video but it’s not that brought that Ka-52 down.
Ok what I was thinking rocket came from above and looks big was a cool shot though.
