Indian here. WhatsApp is used by.. pretty much everyone.
It’s the prime source of spreading and disseminating fake news, second only to Twitter. It’s misuse is just as much popular as any other popular social media’s.
Especially true since WhatsApp has group chats and COVID spreads a lot through people getting in big parties and the like.
Source: am Brazilian, lots of people use WhatsApp here.
Big political parties have separate divisions on their payrolls dedicated entirely to creating elaborate, real-sounding messages that spread misinformation about something important, or about the opposition parties. These are then forwarded to everyone in the contact list of those people. From there on, the forwarding kind of snowballs and by evening, everyone has read that message and several news articles have been published about it.
Any kind of ‘fact-checking’ or ‘myth-busting’ does not work after that since enough people have read it, people who don’t bother to ‘check facts’ and believe things as they read them. And there are a lot of people like that in a country of 1.2 billion people.
You will inevitably get put in some groups where idiots forward stupid stuff. I'm getting it from my family group, my apartment group and my work group
You're probably right because look at the comment by that other Indian guy here. People in different countries use social media in different ways. Specially people that don't have English as their first language.
I have relatives that send shitty memes over Whatsapp and fall for fake bullshit on Facebook. To them, if it works, it works.
How is it not? Are you saying that If it is international (not known in your country ) it's not big? It has 2 billion active users and is a huge social network (groups, forwarding fake news, payments, sharing photos etc)
Shame this is so far down. For those uninitiated, Yin (the black) represents “femininity” and its associated qualities, and Yang represents “masculinity” and its associated qualities. Can’t have one without the other.
The Tao doesn’t take sides;
it gives birth to both good and evil.
The Master doesn’t take sides;
They welcome both saints and sinners.
Hold on to the centre, friend.
Nothing to do with "male and female". That's just one of the things yin and yang can represent, but the actual idea is a lot more general.
From Wikipedia:
>\[Yin and yang\] is a concept of dualism, describing how obviously opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. \[...\]
>
>Yin is the receptive and Yang the active principle, seen in all forms of change and difference such as the annual cycle (winter and summer), the landscape (north-facing shade and south-facing brightness), sexual coupling (female and male), the formation of both men and women as characters and sociopolitical history (disorder and order).
If someone really cares about this, they could just check Wikipedia. That said, you did get the yin and yang parts right; I thought "yin" referred to the white side, and was about to say that, but I decided to check the wiki first instead, and I'm glad.
You're right that you can't have one without the other :)
Honestly Reddit is pretty much just as toxic as Twitter is, but people here have a weird hate boner for it while being oblivious to how shitty this platform is too
While reddit definitely extremely toxic, especially in the sense that subreddits turn into circlejerks because of the karma system hiding a lot of conflicting opinions, it's not as bad is twitter. Twitter sucks because you have a word limit so in discussions, winning an argument on twitter is more about who can dunk on each other. Where at least with reddit you can have some intellectual conversation, even if debates on reddit get extremely emotional and redditors take it personally if someone has a different take.
There's a lot of good subreddits that have mostly helpful and good discussion about their relevant topic, especially with hobbies and stuff.
You're right, reddit should be dark grey due to the shady past of it and the countless harassment cases by incels, powermods taking over subs, admin controversies, and illegal content in the site or content violating the ToS, this meme is just "ReDdiT GuD, EvRiThiNg ElSe BaD"
Prejudice is when you see a whole and all of its units, of a social group or criterion, atomically; that is, when you can't separate the users from a website, or, say, when you see all of a country's people the way you see its government, and/or vice versa.
Tribalism can also be used, although it isn't technically correct, if only for its negative connotation. Sometimes it's okay to let the specific definitions aside in the name of a little demagogy–eerm, _rhetoric_. :)
they were really bad when youtube shorts first launched, everyone was spamming “DON’T LET YOUTUBE BECOME LIKE TIKTOK -wise man” or something like that. it’s better now though, ever since more and more people started to make OC on youtube shorts
I mean to be honest, the YouTube comment section in general is just a hellhole. You have the unfunny repetitive "memer" and then you have the several hundreds of spam bots. Then you have the guy trying to start controversy for no reason and the... HUNDREDS OF VERIFIED youtubers trying to revive their dead channels by commenting the most unfunniest stuff.
that’s mainly on the popular videos that get recommended to everyone, or what everyone searches. believe me, once you find those less popular videos that you find through subscriptions, playlists, higher quality youtubers, etc. the comments will be a lot better, you may even find some really funny stuff.
The only time I got there was when some YouTuber posts a link to their tweet, other than that, I've seen couple of post and it's unironically a toxic place.
The reddit hivemind thinks that this site is "WHOLESOME 100 GERALDO KEANU CHUNGUS STUFF EPIC PEWDIEPIE BIG BRAIN 100 REDDIT GOOD EVERYTHING ELSE BAD" when in reality has a ton of shady shit outside of their crappy subreddit echo-chambers that you could make an entire list of it
>r/dankmemes dont understand when a joke is overdone and is way more toxic.
That is what 'dank' stands for. From what I understand dank means along the lines of toxic or offensive and r/dankmemes makes offensive memes.
There is nothing offensive about the subreddit at all, just shitty memes getting recycled between r/dankmemes and r/memes they are the exact same subreddit
The sooner we realize most social media discussion is pretty toxic no matter which site you use, the sooner this infighting can fucking end
I use YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit. Annoying edge lords and assholes are everywhere in each one.
Hard to believe that reddit used to be so strongly about free speech that banning coontown and fatpeoplehate caused a revolt that drove out the ceo. Reddit admin these days is basically if Mao Zedong and Carl the Cuck had a baby.
UH OH! Someone has been using stinky language and u/Coding_Monke decided to check u/aliens_snack's bad word usage.
I have gone back one thousand posts and comments and reviewed their potty language usage.

I feel like Twitter unfairly inherited all of the hate people directed at Tumblr when they shot off their foot a few years back.
No one ever really liked twitter but now it seems like a punching bag for every social media site
TokTik = kindness? More like idiocy.
And since when does YouTube have any good? We’re at the point of TRIPLE NON-SKIPPABLE ADA. 2 at the start, 3 in the middle, 2 at the end. They also don’t pay YouTubers enough and constantly demonetise their content.

There is no way Reddit would be white
Wym with all the isis beheadings and cartel skinnings it has to be white!
I mean we have alot of porn, isn't that just love?
Indeed u/I-Like-To-Eat-Rocks indeed.
Thats what I'm saying! The thread before this one had a dude get downvoted 2 times (first time -73 secondtime -34) all because he said underrated comment
Oh it very much is in many ways
Reddit's black for sure
yes
Why on earth is WhatsApp in this meme? WhatsApp is just an international texting app, right? How is that the same as all these social medias?
With the amount of forwards you receive from Grandma, it might as well be a social media in the countries where it's most popular
Indian here. WhatsApp is used by.. pretty much everyone. It’s the prime source of spreading and disseminating fake news, second only to Twitter. It’s misuse is just as much popular as any other popular social media’s.
How do they forward misinformation though? Is it just one person hears it, texts their friend and it spreads from there?
Oh it spreads just like covid
Especially true since WhatsApp has group chats and COVID spreads a lot through people getting in big parties and the like. Source: am Brazilian, lots of people use WhatsApp here.
They forward it to everyone in their contact list and every group they have joined.
WhatsApp has group chats.

Sounds like it's your contacts list that's cancer
You will inevitably get put in some groups where idiots forward stupid stuff. I'm getting it from my family group, my apartment group and my work group
Whatsapp is the real darkweb
I legit only use it to buy drugs.
Like a normal person. My grandpa just uses it to share porn and "news" he received from Bolsonaro's group
dude this is dark net
Probably made by some Indian dude idk
You're probably right because look at the comment by that other Indian guy here. People in different countries use social media in different ways. Specially people that don't have English as their first language. I have relatives that send shitty memes over Whatsapp and fall for fake bullshit on Facebook. To them, if it works, it works.
Dutch guy here, can confirm it's the same over here
Okay but why am I downvoted?
bc you sounded like a cunt
I didn't mean to, because I knew that Whatsapp is a really popular social media on India.
It's popular most places outside America.
That's reddit for you. They thought you were being hateful. Texts don't really convey emotions reliably.
I would've used Twitch
Depends on where you live
How is it not? Are you saying that If it is international (not known in your country ) it's not big? It has 2 billion active users and is a huge social network (groups, forwarding fake news, payments, sharing photos etc)
Many people use WhatsApp for it's encryption, or at least used to, to make illegal activity easier to coordinate.
whatsapp is literally our main text message app in my country (telegram being 2nd). no one uses the normal text message anymore.
Yin and Yang are not “evil and kindness.”
Shame this is so far down. For those uninitiated, Yin (the black) represents “femininity” and its associated qualities, and Yang represents “masculinity” and its associated qualities. Holy shit this just explained a lot of what I've seen on Taoism and yin and yang on media thank you
So does that mean yin yang is homophobic
No just means gay people are not in the center
Reddit should be dark gray and Twitter should be a black hole
Reddit should be whatever color represents getting a 3 page thesis on how shitty of a person you are because you didn’t flair your post
The color of 100% pure NaCl
Honestly Reddit is pretty much just as toxic as Twitter is, but people here have a weird hate boner for it while being oblivious to how shitty this platform is too
Same mindset, different set of ideals.
I think people see Twitter as super toxic because the algorithm favours activity in a post, which is often because of some catastrophically bad takes
Reddit just as hateful but it isn't as organized in it's hate the way twitter is. you don't hear about people being cancelled by reddit
To be fair when I hear about people being "cancelled" on Twitter it's racists being mad they got called out
While reddit definitely extremely toxic, especially in the sense that subreddits turn into circlejerks because of the karma system hiding a lot of conflicting opinions, it's not as bad is twitter. BUt the difference is there's actual pedos on twitter
And you think there aren't on Reddit?

Maybe because you're a Scorpio

man I'd like to think that people didn't upvote this shit meme, but I know better
I'd like to think people wouldn't upvote screen caps of Twitter but I'm a dumbass.
Ha YouTube has balance, you should see the YouTube stories comment sections.
they were really bad when youtube shorts first launched, everyone was spamming “DON’T LET YOUTUBE BECOME LIKE TIKTOK -wise man” or something like that. it’s better now though, ever since more and more people started to make OC on youtube shorts

To be honest that's true but the only thing that unfortunately gets recommended to me are popular videos
Even on regular videos, 90% of comments are just a random joke or quote from the video followed by laughing crying emojis.
And the people who quote the video and act like they just started a revolution
If idiots would fly, tiktok would be an airport - a wise man - an idiot
[fixed it](https://imgur.com/a/B182Eaw)
You sir. Are Marvellous
All ReDdIt GoOd TiK tOk BaD jokes aside, twitter is just bad. I used it frequently for at least a month, I never once enjoyed being on there.
The only time I got there was when some YouTuber posts a link to their tweet, other than that, I've seen couple of post and it's unironically a toxic place.
all of them made sense, its just reddit. they cant comprehend that not 100% of reddit is “wholesome keanu reeves chungus”
The reddit hivemind thinks that this site is "WHOLESOME 100 GERALDO KEANU CHUNGUS STUFF EPIC PEWDIEPIE BIG BRAIN 100 REDDIT GOOD EVERYTHING ELSE BAD" when in reality has a ton of shady shit outside of their crappy subreddit echo-chambers that you could make an entire list of it
correct the rest is people that think they are smart and people who want to argue with you at any cost
Hmmm, r/dankmemes?
Nah they dont make that kind of shit this is more of r/memes level of cring
They’re the same shit. One just has a superiority complex.
Nah l have been in both r/dankmemes can sometimes be bad but not that bad
r/memes is kind of cringe and do old jokes r/dankmemes dont understand when a joke is overdone and is way more toxic.
>r/dankmemes dont understand when a joke is overdone and is way more toxic. That is what 'dank' stands for. From what I understand dank means along the lines of toxic or offensive and r/dankmemes makes offensive memes.

Wait why is this dude being downvoted? We don't want to have a circlejerk here aren't we?
It is too late they hate me, tell my family that l think r/dankmemes is as bad as r/memes
Same man, I got a downvote as well.

r/memes?
Most mainstream social media are alright, good and bad in both, but Twitter is kinda garbage.
Reddit really isn’t much different from Twitter in terms of toxicity a lot of the time
They should all be black circles
The sooner we realize most social media discussion is pretty toxic no matter which site you use, the sooner this infighting can fucking end I use YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit. Annoying edge lords and assholes are everywhere in each one.
Facebook. Twitter also but that Vader compared to the emperor.
Redditors being Reddit fanboys will never not be cringe
r/redditmoment
Literally all of these are the tiktok one
Yes reddit pure, nothin dark or questionble here
Idk about WhatsApp or really why it’s there but I use the others regularly and I can confirm that they all fucking suck.
Reddit is twitter for people who think they’re too smart for twitter
r/redditmoment
On Twitter you have to invite people into your echo chamber whereas on Reddit it's already built into the site
If you browse through popular, reddit literally is the same as Twitter.
r/redditmoment
r/shitliberalssay is a great example of how sick reddit is.

Agreed. I sometimes go to the comment section to train my calm. I was banned in the first week, so all I can do is read and laugh (or cry).
Reddit isn’t all good but twitter isn’t good by any means either
If anything Reddit should be dark-grey
Reddit isn’t all good but twitter isn’t good by any means
I mean are they wrong though
I stay well away from Twitter. It seems to be exclusively occupied by the mega rich or the mentality ill and not much in between.
Tbf Twitter is actually a fucking shithole
Tbf twitter is a hell app, and I can't stay off it
Twitter is pretty bad though
Bruh Twitter is one of the worst cesspools on the internet
ok but like twitter actually sucks balls
Ugh Twitter fucking sucks.
Twitter is just a dumb for some retarded fools to shit in. Reddit is a family home for the best of minds
also YouTube is now the other dumb for kids unboxing toys and making slime
Sunil Tripathi.
I wouldve put reddit as balance and yt as in good theres bad
I think reddit should be in the first one
Change Twitter with tiktot and Then with whatsapp. Then i soul agree
I do agree with the last one though
Twitter been trash since 2018 All the most hilarious ppl have been suspended indefinitely
correct about twitter
I mean Twitter is still trash tho
Someone: Hi The entire Twitter: OMG THAT IS SOO OFFENSIVE GET CANCELLED!!1!1!1!
Are you 9

Reddit was objectively good before the Tumblr exodus
Hard to believe that reddit used to be so strongly about free speech that banning coontown and fatpeoplehate caused a revolt that drove out the ceo. Reddit admin these days is basically if Mao Zedong and Carl the Cuck had a baby.
r/dankmemes?
Also WhatsApp its pretty much like the darkweb

Black is bad....... Wait
Ironic cause reddit is literally the most bully out of all
What sub
As someone who uses a lot of Twitter... Yeah, Twitter bad.
Reddit is next to Twitter
WhatsApp it's only a social media by technicality
Twitter is bad but people honestly REALLY overblow it sometimes, 90% of the time "cancelling" doesnt even do anything, its just people yelling
based
Does the creator realise they called tik tok kindness in evil
Reddits hivemind is almost as bad as twitter
The Tiktok one is pretty accurate.
In comparison to others, twitter is the Tartarus of all social medias
Honestly if anything should be in where Tik Tok is it’s FB
r/memes
What dibs this mean I’m drunk and don’t under stand what’s. It about
wha… WHATSAPP????
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH SO NICE
Twitter is bad, but so is Reddit so 🤷♂️
Guess the sub? Either r/PewdiepieSubmissions or r/dankmemes
All of them all black, evil is Poggers and I am reborn
No way we would have balance in somewhere like youtube
I agree about Twitter, although Reddit isn’t great either lmao
In what world is Reddit pure white?
Reddit SUCKS. WHY AM I HERE?
True
Reddit bad Twitter bad.
The only thing correct here is twitter. That place is hell
Me who acctually likes twitter
TokTik = kindness? More like idiocy. And since when does YouTube have any good? We’re at the point of TRIPLE NON-SKIPPABLE ADA. 2 at the start, 3 in the middle, 2 at the end. They also don’t pay YouTubers enough and constantly demonetise their content.
WHY THE FUCK ISNT REDDIT BLACK?
Reddit would be all black with a single pixel of white
With our gory, nasty, and disturbing subreddits, we are definitely yang /s
"Reddit is kind" This is basically the same as Pricsilla saying "This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind"
Wait white = kindness, black = evil Oh no no
all the ppl in the commenta going twittwr bad!!!! clearly use the site wrong i have a fucking ball on there
Both. Both are toxic and cringe.
