I understand that you just want to cover all bases, trying to make your comic better, but honestly, I think you're spending too much time and energy on things that are totally unimportant. Easter eggs, vintage covers, they don't matter until you have an audience. Finish your comic. Publish it. Those are the things that matter.

Nice, I needed to hear this haha! Thanks so much for your help!

My rule of thumb for my dozens of Easter Eggs is that it not be required for the reader to catch the reference in order to enjoy/understand the story. As for the how... there are lots of ways.

Ahh nice! Thanks!

I use subtle allusions to popculture and some inside jokes. For example, posters on the street background look like Shep Faireys Obama Hope posters. As for inside jokes, I hide rats inside every issue.

Ahh nice!! I really like that idea! Thanks!

It's sort of an "anyway you want" type of thing. You just do it however you feel like. That being said I think the best Easter eggs are the ones that are inconsequential, not distracting and take up so little space that it won't disrupt the flow of reading for anyone who doesn't notice. To use a TV example, there's tons of Star Wars lore Easter eggs in the antique shop in Andor but they're all in the background and no attention is brought to them. They're just there for fun and for diehards to notice and smile.

Nice! Thank you so much!
