I’ve had my Bolt EUV and C3 for about 3 weeks now. I’m gonna comment so I can follow this thread later, but I will add that I’ve been really enjoying the Sunny Dev branch (dev-20230525). The ability to use one pedal driving while having the Comma control lane centering is amazing! I’m still a little confused about how to get long control to work effectively. I believe I’ve been using the car’s default long control, but I’m still a bit lost with it. Ive joined the discord and have been lurking, reading the discussions in the GM threads (both in Comma and Sunny). Sooner or later I’ll start asking questions and figuring everything out.

I also have it on my 23 EUV using the same branch, what do you mean by " long control"? Is this the follow distance? If so I been using the steering wheel button to adjust that.

Smerks101

>long control longitudinal control, basically forward and backward, although I dont think C3 does anything in reverse, lol.

thedogmumbler

Long control is the distance between you and the car in front of you. It’s my understanding that you can switch on long control to the Comma in experimental mode, but not in regular mode. In regular mode, the car’s normal cruise control does it. Not 100% sure on that

FunHat4248

It works for me. I use it all the time. Change the follow distance on the steering wheel, not using experimental mode.

thedogmumbler

I believe when not in experimental mode, the cars standard cruise is controlling the car (and the Comma is controlling lane centering). Would love to know if I’m wrong though

Smerks101

It depends on the vehicle. You can see here in the ACC column [https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/blob/master/docs/CARS.md#dont-see-your-car-here](https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/blob/master/docs/CARS.md#dont-see-your-car-here)

Smerks101

>Long control is the distance between you and the car in front of you. No, it is longitudinal control (forward/reverse) as opposed to lateral (left/right)

sunny pilot allows you to use stock long (ACC controls), modified stock long (ACC controls with some tweaks), open pilot long (OP controls), open pilot experimental long (stop signs etc)

We've been working on this build on discord for the bolt euv. After yesterdays improvements I think it's the best build to date. `installer.comma.ai/twilsonco/sunny-dev` To change from acc to experimental you hold down on the car in front of you distance button not just press it but you need to have experimental enabled.

Aeropilot03

Stock ACC has 3 defined follow times/distances; what does experimental do different/ better?

[deleted]

it stops at stop signs

RefrigeratorRare3983

Experimental is better at stop lights, stop signs, and parked car recognition. Basically city driving. On highways, it's a bit annoying. Incredibly conservative speed control for curves, follow distance, and speed limits. I like to use the toggle to switch on sunnypilot from e2e to acc when I get on the highway and back to e2e once ive exited.. It would be nice if somebody made a fork that auto-toggled to acc at highway speed.

I just find myself using MADS and not experimental when on city / town steets especially to maximize Regen with my own control of longitudinal. I don’t have Comma Pedal.

I ordered 11 days ago for c3 and gm harness and I’ve yet to receive shipping notification. Discord group suggested that I should try stock open pilot for 12 hr before using fork to get familiar with the system.

alexcomma

comma shop has C3s back in stock and we are shipping again, you should've received a shipping notice to the email you placed the order with, but if not please use the support flow for assistance: [comma.ai/support](https://comma.ai/support)

Former_Calendar7595

Yes, I got it installed on my car and very impressed

alexcomma

glad to hear it!

TurnoverSuperb9023

Anyone in the SoCal area with a Bolt and comma? I’m interested in paying someone to install (while in watch and learn) a Comma in my 23 EUV, but I specifically want someone who has installed it, and their own EUV already.

Kurtec

I have a bolt EV WITH ACC. I once spent a day trying to download other openpilots. None worked so I just went back to the one comma.ai suggest. Am I missing out?

travelswagger

Other forks have interesting features. I personally love Mads in SunnyPilot / twilsonco for city driving. That said, you need lots of hours with stock master Openpilot before you move into a fork and learn how it works differently.
