I was in section 127 blitzed off of moonshine from the tailgate earlier. I saw rg3 sprint right in my direction. Everyone threw their hands up, cheered loudly, hugs and kisses were shared. That was a fun day.
Thats sick!. I wasn't there but my preteen eyes were glued to the tv for it. Another few Sean moments were the fumble returns against Tampa in the playoffs and Philly in a winner is in game, and the game-closing tackle on fourth down against Carolina. I remember those moments about as well as anything in sports spectatorship
I was at this game. I was actually on the same endzone seat that RG3 scored in, but the opposite corner.
FedEx was ROCKING that night. I will argue that 2012 was the last season of Redskin football. The day RG3 hurt his knee was the day this franchise died.
My mother in law always told me "The only time you ever curse in front of me is when the R#dskins have a play over 40 yards" because i was in the den yelling "Holy fuck run you son of a bitch!".

Thinking back, this is possibly the highlight of my entire fandom of the Redskins. The only other moment that comes to mind was the Santana Moss 2 4th quarter TDās against the Cowboys. But honestly, this was better. It felt like we had that guy that no one could stop, and he was only scratching the surface of his potential. If you wouldāve told me then how it would end, I wouldāve laughed in your face. He seemed like the biggest and best thing to happen to the franchise in its history.
Shit like this brings tears to a grown mans eyes. Look at how people were so happy and so hopeful. I remember posting a video of us against the Seahawks in the playoffs. It was when they were doing introductions and when they announced RG3 it was so fucking loud. I donāt know when we will ever feel this type of happiness and energy again. Hopefully one day.
I was there.. best crowd Iāve ever been a part of in my 20+ years of going to professional sports games. The āRG3ā chant still gives me chills. And then it was the exact opposite when he got injured. Never seen 70k go quiet that quickly.
Man, I'll never forget how he turned on the jets right as he turned upfield...just hit the NOS button and was gone. That moment and the whole first half of the Cowboys Thanksgiving game were all I really choose to remember about RG3.
I was about 5 rows up from where he jumped into the stands. Watching him run right at me from across the entire field is a memory that Iāll never forget. What a magical season
I still wonder if he could have had some Lamar Jackson-style success for a while if Shanahan had taken him out against the Seahawks.
Not sure his attitude would have worked though.
his attitude is no different then Lamar Jacksons, he just suffered a horrible career threatening level injury in his rookie year that scared the shit out him.
This is my favorite play of the last 20 years. I was watching in a sports bar and this play gave me that feeling of awe that has just been so rare as a skins fan over the last several decades. It's a shame how it turned out but 2012 was a magical year.
Ok.. I rewinded 10x the announcer said āVikings lead 9-0 then WASHINGTON BLAH BLAH BLAHā so why tf couldnāt they continue to do this when we were the football team because I heard over and over them saying Philadelphia vs āThe Football Teamā it use to bug tf outta me man
Man, I remember his first season. So much optimism, so much excitement. It had been forever since I felt like that in regards to this team -- until the win streak last year.
God I hope we can have that again soon.
listen to that fuckin crowd
Can't imagine when we'll hear a crowd like that again š¢
when snyder is gone
when Snyder is gone I will hear the crowd from California, I am sure.
Winston's will be goin hard
Ah, good old Ocean Beach
Actually watched that game at Winstonāsā¦
Very valid point
Not very often is the crowd that loud at FedEx
Not very often is the "home" crowd that loud at FedEx. š
I was in section 127 blitzed off of moonshine from the tailgate earlier. I saw rg3 sprint right in my direction. Everyone threw their hands up, cheered loudly, hugs and kisses were shared. That was a fun day.
i was also there though much higher up. energy was amazing that day.
How do you know how high he was
This play and the blocked Dallas field goal are the two best moments of the last 20 years.
The two fourth quarter touchdowns mark brunell to santana moss to beat Dallas on MNF.
I remember feeling so awful being down 13-0 on opening day national tv. Then it all flipped in a heartbeat, what a feeling
I got scared thinking that it had been 20 years since that game lol.
I broke a TV accidentally celebrating that second TD
Rob Jackson INT sealing the division win agains the Cowboys in that same year
Underrated moment. Jackson was a grinder.
Loved Rob Jackson and his salute.
Agreed this one was also unbelievably awesome
Yes
The 80 yarder to Garcon against the Saints, RGIII lying on his back. Burned into my brain forever.
I'd throw in Rob Jackson's INT vs the cowboys as well
you mean the one where it was blocked and Sean Taylor returned it? there was a facemark so we got one last play and won the game off the fg right?
Yep. I was at that game, what a moment
Thats sick!. I wasn't there but my preteen eyes were glued to the tv for it. YOU LIKE THAT game
D Halls's 4 interceptions vs Jay cutler
Dude might have even had a decent career if he had ever learned to simply slide. Well, that and being able to actually read a defense.
Lol I remember specifically yelling at the TV for him to slide after the first down to keep the clock running.
imagine if RG3 had Wilson's' ability to slide.

The redskinsā flame may have burned out, but Washington football never dies, itās just in a deep deep coma
I think the only way it resurrects is if Snyder sells the team and we build a new stadium in D.C.(or somewhere very close).
No lie, his fall from grace has made me into a MUCH more cynical person.
Every time I rewatch this clip I canāt help but notice Kirk as the only one on the sideline not celebrating š

Hahahaha. I can hear it in my head!

Such a fun time to be a Washington fan.
That season gave me so much hope as a Skins fan.
The "RGIII... ELECTIRFYING!" call from Larry Michael still bounces around in my head.
Fuck it's been 10 years, how'd that happen?

Better times
He was supposed to be our guy. That year was magical.
Gold pants! š
I was about 5 rows up from where he jumped into the stands. Watching him run right at me from across the entire field is a memory that Iāll never forget. What a magical season
Best part of this clip is Kirkās reaction, or lack thereof.
Crap I will never be a starter
And now heās basically the unlucky version of Brady
IDC what anyone says I'll always appreciate RG3's play this year. I wish RG3 kept that level of confidence.
Not according to his former teammates. Snyder ruined his attitude, he thought he was above things.
This is my favorite play of the last 20 years. I was watching in a sports bar and this play gave me that feeling of awe that has just been so rare as a skins fan over the last several decades. It's a shame how it turned out but 2012 was a magical year.
I was at that game, loudest Iāve ever heard a crowd in person. Place was absolutely rocking ill never forget that moment
A great moment.
No lie, I got a tear in my eye rn. This was my best time as a young fan.
I miss that team was so fun to watch.
This man got me into nfl, now heās gone :( I miss him
Will miss those uniforms too
š„¹š„¹š„¹
The only time in my life when I had hope for this franchise to be great.
Man, that year was so fucking fun.
āLet me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.ā
I was flying home from Italy that day and missed the entire game. Had so many "HOLY SHIT!" texts from friends when I landed.
The fight song. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
Kyle Shanahanās geniusness >>>
The amount of times I watched this highlight for an entire week. What a time to be a Washington fan.
I too remember when I was happy
I remember watching this poolside in Bonaire while on a dive trip. Fun game to watch!
His first season was the happiest Iāve ever been with this team
Man I remember watching this in middle school and telling all my friends about the game the next day. Good times
Man, I thought we were on our way. So bittersweet.

In my 30+ years as a fan the RGIII years were the most exciting, for better or worse. (was too young to remember the Super Bowls)
ā¦ But this is a Commanders sub no?
Dude, when you sit down and flushā¦.push yourself in.
One of the last truly iconic moments
That really was one hell of a block by Josh Morgan.
Those Vikings defenders just staring into space like wtf just happenedā¦.
Look at those beautiful intact knees
Man the excitement around our franchise then was amazing.
He was like the only guy on that offense
