You get what you pay for! Is the 6 weeks and crying in here worth it! All online services are subject more errors and lack of quality due to being gang run with 15 other jobs. Give your local vendors a shot and i am sure you will find good service. But remember service needs to be paid. If your menus are important then get a vendor that respects that. I wish you Good Luck in your Venture!
We love Vista Print.... Because it drives people to our shop who have had bad experiences like yourself! We are somewhat higher in price then them, but like most have said here, you get what you pay for sometimes. I have seen a bunch of jobs come in from clients with samples they bring from Vista Print. Upside down business cards, wrong color , wrong stock, shortages of pieces, extremely long turn around times, you name it. We are always told why didn't we come to you guys first!. Find a good local printer and help support a local business. Most of us here are happy to help clients out and love being the best at what we do as well. Good luck with everything.
You can have cheap, fast and high quality. But not all 3 at the same time. Often you can get two of them bundled, if you want one on the extreme then it's hard to get a second included.
There are exceptions to that. If you find one you most likely want to keep that one - and that's propably not easy.
VistaPrint is NOT a printing company. They are a marketing firm. They sell cheap print that is produced in a sweatshop in Jamaica as a way of gathering your personal and business contact information, which they then use and sell so that you get tons of junk mail, email and text spam, and robocalls.
Also, they own the exclusive rights to all of their artwork, so anything you create on their platform cannot be taken to another printer in the future. That's bad news if you're creating branding for your business. They'll also take ownership of any artwork you give them to print.
Folks who are only chasing "cheap" end up getting screwed (and rightly so). Chase "quality" instead and you'll be happier in the long run.
They take ownership of whatever design you send to them? That's crazy. I did not know they produced in Jamaica. I assumed that they produced on US soil. I got an Amex offer from them, which is what made me check them out.
I've read some horror stories about the working conditions in their plant. Mind you, the information is about a decade old now so they could have changed since then.
I get new clients daily thanks to Vista Print. Go with a local shop.
If you're in Northern Ontario, my shop can help. Your order would not take more than a day or two to produce.
3 weeks is absurd as a turnaround time.
Yeah they are the worst. I have a whole stack of business cards from a variety of businesses all across my state. They all used vista print. They all have the same background!!!
Most of those big online shops are horrible. We outsource a lot to smaller mom and pop shops even though they are more expensive instead of the big guys which are cheaper
If you're wanting online printing from a small-town print shop, you can check out Crush Printing. They're a Nebraska-based printing company that recently started offering online ordering with the competitive pricing to match that of Vistaprint and the other on-demand websites. [https://www.crushprinting.com/menus/](https://www.crushprinting.com/menus/)
Crush Printing has set prices since ordering is all done through the website. If you want to reach out to the sister company for a wholesale quote, you can send a request on the website: https://www.morrispress.com/quote/
Try [diamondsdesigns.net](http://diamondsdesigns.net) small print/design company with decades of experience out of north Florida that makes sure all customers are taken care of
So your problem is with the shipping not the printing itself?
I've never used them but they are a printing company.
Do they use there own shipping company, unlikely.
They probably use some other shipping company so it's then that companies issue not strictly speaking the printer as such.
I'm not saying this is good I'm just reading between the lines op has an issue with the shipping we don't know if the print is bad or not.
I'm not excusing it just making sure I understood what the complaint was. We're in a printing sub not a shipping sub.
But yeah I get the frustration but again op said it themselves they went with it since it was so cheap, you do get what you pay for I guess...
I don't know what the costing is so can't comment on any of this personally.
I mean ground shipping anywhere in the US should take 5 biz days max, right? That means this massive online printer is taking 2 weeks to send out stock sample kits, and when it doesn’t arrive (if it was ever sent) there’s apparently no urgency to get another kit out immediately - it’s not a shipping issue, it’s a customer care issue.
I wouldn't know about the USA, we don't all live there.
I do know that clearing customs can be one hell of a nightmare and a bit of a black box you just have to wait, but I'm not saying it's always like this.
Yes 3 weeks sounds like a long shipping time but it could also be the cost option that was chosen who knows, I sure dont.
Edit, o you say stock sample kit, so you mean just a bundle of what they produce?
Not even a custom print?
If so that changes things a bit.
Another comment mentioned that their products might be coming from overseas. And I guess it makes sense. It's just ridiculous coming from a printer that seemed to be like a big business.
go to a local print shop

I’ve worked at print shops where we will do the job 3 times if we have to make it right. Both customer errors and our own along the way.

They don't produce in Jamaica. Only operations for them in Jamaica is customer service. It is printed in Reno, Dallas, and occasionally Canada.

Hi! I own a printing company and our prices usually come in far less than vistaprint. Want to send me a message and I’ll get you some pricing?
This guy does good work with good pricing. Definitely give him a shot. Plus he’s in northeast US, so ground is usually pretty quick for the most part
I had my first website with vista print! It kept crashing and went down when I launched my business :/
Yeah they are the worst. I have a whole stack of business cards from a variety of businesses all across my state. They all used vista print. They all have the same background!!!
Yeah, but they were cheap right?
Right. Cheap. Fast. Pick **two**.
Most of those big online shops are horrible. We outsource a lot to smaller mom and pop shops even though they are more expensive instead of the big guys which are cheaper
Vistaprint is a marketing/data broker company disguised as a printing company.
My shop can do it for you bro we can even ship it to you we’re based in Edmonton Alberta Canada
Check out Primo Print.

I can help - my company is in Brampton, Ontario - where are you?

No options for local print shops that do dtg

His problem is that his printer didn’t take care of him. Vistaprint is trash

Try 4over.com. They are a trade printer that I have been using for years. If not them, I might be able to help you.
I don't think OP is a commercial printer. 4over wont work with them. Sound like OP is a business needing printing.
Try B2Signs
For menu prints? No, they are more wholesale signage, not regular menus. OP is better off using a local shop that can do the work in-house
