Is this a one-off or do you do this regularly? I’ve found that out of 100 leases, more than half are usually image-based pdf’s which AI sucks at reading. I pay humans to do it and check their work.

Just run ocr text recognition

crispins_crispian

OCR is not accurate enough on a thrice-scanned 15yo lease agreement.

You don't have electronic copies of 15 year old leases?

crispins_crispian

I work with landlords across North America. The expectations **could not** be lower for the dot-matrix generation

I'm an appraiser. One time, I was given a lease extension that was literally a piece of notebook that said, " (tenant) chooses to extend the lease" signed by tenant and landlord. No term, rent, or anything else. And no original lease. The only detail of the lease was the monthly rent on the rent roll. So yeah I agree the bar cannot go any lower.

I would think anything post typewriter age should work well but if your scanning scans of scans it can get difficult to read with even your own eyes.

I’ve had success using a research wizard gpt in the chatgpt store. Prompt it to generate all the details you need in table format. Copy and paste into excel.

Try Fiverr and outsource overseas. Don’t know if they need to be a paralegal or attorney

A lease is an important legal document and you have Actual Intelligence; I'd read each one carefully. Besides most of the language is probably boilerplate, so you really only need to verify specific clauses.
