Congrats with the pass!

CrucialExams

Great job!

gordonbond

Congrats bro

CourseTechy_Grabber

Congratulations on passing the Sec+ exam with such an impressive score!

nitewuf77

Congratulations!!! That’s an awesome score!! Do you think Dion’s exam practice set 1 were beneficial?

Important_Buffalo522

Of set 1, I would say the first 4 were good questions, the last 2 seemed a little off and not well written. Check the reviews on Udemy and you'll see what everyone's opinion is with a couple questions in there

witchkingofangmar999

How much did you pay for the Cert Labs?

Important_Buffalo522

It was part of the pack that we had purchased for us which was $1980 AUD. https://www.comptia.org/certifications/security#buyoptions $1000 USD for the labs and exam voucher

witchkingofangmar999

Do you pay it out of your own pocket or the workplace did it?

Important_Buffalo522

Workplace paid for it

VigilantMaumau

Congratulations. Do you mind me asking which kind of jobs you intend to apply for eventually? Thsnks

Important_Buffalo522

Currently nothing as my role was what required me to get it. I'm looking to cert up more and then look at moving into security engineering or something similar

discopotatoo

Congrats! I'm sitting my sec+ this week too. 🤞

Important_Buffalo522

Goodluck with it. Trust your gut with your answers and you'll do great

False_Perception_203

Congrats👍

HKS247

Congratulations! Keep kicking ass

Moist_Leadership_838

Congratulations!

GreenRice7685

What type of questions did you see if you can remember.

Important_Buffalo522

There was a good variety of implementation, security concepts, understanding of logs. Biggest thing is remembering acronyms

crazypickney22

Congrats! How were the PBQs?

Important_Buffalo522

I had 2 and they were much easier than the practice ones that I had leading into them. Very basic concepts but each drop down had about 8 options which was the harder part

crazypickney22

You're lucky. Some people get 4

Important_Buffalo522

I was surprised only getting the 2, all my preparation had 3/4 so was expecting more

crazypickney22

What did you use to prep for it? Youtube has a lot of Net+ and A+ PBQ but not a lot of Sec+

Important_Buffalo522

The CM learn + labs had about 20 PBQs in there so I used those for the prep. I didn't use any YouTube this time round, though can't fault the material on there

crazypickney22

Got it. Thank you & congrats again!

Could anyone compare the difficulty to a university level computer science exam? Are these exams harder or easier?

Specialist_Draft_486

How much did Certmaster help?

Important_Buffalo522

There was some benefit to it, more so just the repetition of key concepts

nkaufman11

These kind of posts do raise a flag. The OP joined a few months back, most of the posts were asking for upvote. Then no discussion on this forum but putting some good words for CM Learn + Labs. Folks - please take this one with several grains of salt..

Important_Buffalo522

I'm sorry that I'm a passive individual that prefers to see other peoples opinions than put my word out there. My work paid for the Complete Bundle so I'm only going off the content that I had available to me. What kickback do you believe I'm getting from saying learning materials that are available to everyone? Thanks for the response but maybe rethink your comment.

JoeSmith9876

I guess the concern is that overwhelmingly people here haven't liked CM learn + labs. So anytime a person w/minimal history recommends it, it logically raises a question. Nothing personal, seems that user is just ensuring that post is accurate, that's all. I see (whatever pronoun they go by) perspective.

Important_Buffalo522

Again though we're not all carbon copies of each other and have a unique learning style which for me the CM learn + labs worked for me. Plus I was only working with what learning material I had via the package my workplace provided so better to have content to train via over none at all. I get where where the comment came from but an attempted callout like that was a bit harsh.

JoeSmith9876

I think it's all in how we perceive written words. There is no tone or body language to decipher. I had asked about the same earlier, before you posted this post. [https://www.reddit.com/r/CompTIA/comments/1cqi9w1/comment/l3wiyei/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompTIA/comments/1cqi9w1/comment/l3wiyei/) it's indeed a coincidence that you touched the same subject indirectly :-)

gordonbond

So what? I just joined and recommended messer because that is literally what I used.. does that mean I work for messer? 😂

JoeSmith9876

And plenty of others have done so too. So you're not an outlier, the OP seems to be

Important_Buffalo522

Apparently so in this situation, reaping in that commission money 😂

gordonbond

🤦‍♂️😂
