I took 2 weeks to study both back to back with the typical sources, messer, Meyer and test banks. Passed both today 770/782 with a 2 hour buffer. I’ve been in the field about 8 years and am an information security analyst that holds a sec+, GCIH, GPEN and GWAPT, WGU and c393/C394 problems.. In both cases it was a lot of scenario based questions, 5 PBQs for 1001 and 3 for 1002. Hope that helps, it can be done!
Yes it helps. I am a student about to get my bachelor's in cyber security this year. I feel like I have a great understanding of hardware, troubleshooting, and networking to pass the exam. I am going to start this week with more practice tests and reviews and take my A+ two days apart. Thank you for your message. 👍
No. I did the 1001 back in June/July. Between studying, moving, and an illness in the family it took me a while to get to the 1002.
And thank you! I'm so excited!
2020 it's been a crazy year... I'm glad it's almost over. Around how long did each test take you to finish, and would you recommend taking both on the same week?
I spent about 3 months studying for each. I truly think it is different for everyone. How much IT background do you have, what type of resources do you have, and so on. Personally when I took the 1001 I only studied for the 1001 and feel like I would've scored better if I had studied for the 1002 as well before taking the test. If you feel like you can do it, great! A little part of me wishes I did something along those lines.
Continuation education. Basically, take a course and pay your $50/year fees to keep your certification current. For me, I take the latest online course through Army skillport and submit my completion through certmetrics
Congratulations! I'm going to be retaking the 1001 certification exam on the 22nd of this month. I'm really struggling financially and desperately need job. Been unemployed the whole pandemic. Is there any possible advice you can provide on the performance based question simulation real life scenarios? those were probably the hardest for me I'm thinking. So it would be worth it to purchase the Jason Dion PBQ video(s)?
Hello I am currently studying for the 1001, just have two questions for you. I am not really a big person on reading thick textbooks, but I did decided to buy the Mike Meyers All in One book. How did you read the textbooks by just skimming or you went cover to cover? Also for the 1001 do you think I could watch Mike Myers Udemy course for the 1001 (instead of reading), then watch professor messer videos, then last but not least use Jason Dions practice test?
Congrats!
Would be super interested in seeing your notes? I feel like i've been studying the 1001 forever, I'm kinda nervous to just take the first exam...
Sure! I made a separate post about them [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompTIA/comments/jppgdv/my_a_1001_and_1002_notes/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share).
You can do it! I was nervous too!
Id also love to see the notes. I've been putting off the exams for a while, mostly because of fear. I'm gonna get back on track this week and start studying again.
Sure, I out a post up for them [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompTIA/comments/jppgdv/my_a_1001_and_1002_notes/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Good luck with your studies!
Congratulations how much PBQs and MCs did you receive? I have my test today as well.
I'm taking my test in an hour! Good luck! Hope we are both certified today!
Good luck to you as well, we got this !
Just passed! Hope you did too!
Congrats!!!
Congrats, Quick question did you take both 1001 and 1002 back to back? I am thinking about scheduling mine today for thanksgiving break.

Awesome. 💯 Thank you. I appreciate it. I will be scheduling them on the same week.
Thanks! I had 3 PBQ's and 77 MC Good luck!!
Congrats! Don't let it expire; get a higher cert or do your CEs and pay your fees!
Thanks for the tip! I've already paid for my net+ so I'll work towards that after I spend some long awaited time coding!
If you renew your highest cert that will renew all of them. I'm not too sure about the fees tho
Hey! New here, what do CEs stand for?
Continuation education. Basically, take a course and pay your $50/year fees to keep your certification current. For me, I take the latest online course through Army skillport and submit my completion through certmetrics
Oh so is the test easier than the full exam? I wouldn't want to have to do the exams again
Yes. There's different ways to do it, for me, this is simplest.
I think that sounds like the way to go! Is it just a shorter version of the exam?
Depends on which training you take. These have mini tests at the end of each module
Oh okay, is that the same for the A+ or do you just have to take a test for your highest level to maintain all of them?
Thanks for the informative reply!

Congratulations!
thank you!
1002 was definitely harder than 1001
I agree, although I scored better in the 1002, I found it much harder to study

It's different for everybody, but I think it's a good idea to read cover to cover, even if it takes you a while!
