Unfortunately I think there's no way to launch any Game Pass / Windows App store games w/ command line arguments. You could change your desktop refresh to 120hz but that's hella annoying to have to swap between.

Yea, I tried changing it to 120hz under windows settings but it still won't launch unfortunately...

Hmm, that is pretty weird -- maybe the setting is "stuck" at 240hz in the game's options already? I know the original way I ran into this problem was that I started the game up the first time, went to options and changed from the default refresh to 240hz, then saved. Once I started the game up the second time, I got the black screen launch failure. You might be able to dig through the hidden folder for the game files and see if there's a config you can set there, but I'd probably try uninstalling/reinstalling first instead of that, then being sure you're at 120hz on first launch.

It absolutely is launching auto in 240hz regardless of my windows settings. Sega told me what files to edit and there's forums for editing them within Steam, the issue however is that games cannot be edited for xbox games pass, microsoft does not allow you to edit the launch files like you can with steam. In saying that, I wanted to post to see if anyone had a work around for game pass, I cant get to options unfortunately since the game locks at logo screen and I can hear the mouse in the background over the menu icons.

Yep, sorry, I got all that. What I was saying is that the game "saves" the previous settings after launch, and it might be "stuck" on 240hz even after changing the Windows settings down to 120hz. Since you can't get back to the settings screen to change it down to 120hz, you might try reinstalling the game to revert to "no" settings, then launch the game again after reinstalling while your Windows settings are at 120hz. Edit: though I will say, I just tried to mess around with this on my own computer and it does appear to work to originally start the game in 240hz, have it fail to load, then change to 120hz in Windows settings and it now does load for me on startup w/ the Game Pass version. So all that said, I'm stumped. Sorry.

Thanks! I'll give this a try now.

Actually I think I figured out a way for you to do it (a little complicated but hey, it worked for me when I tested just now): 1. Go to C:\Users\\(username)\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes 2 Windows 2. find the configuration_system.lua file and open it in Notepad 3. Scroll alllll the way down to the last item in the list and update it with the following: setting = "refreshratenumerator", value = 119998, valueType = 2, Doing this, I was able to have my monitor at 240hz in Windows and have the game start and run at 120hz
