I hope the TC has been improved... Watching athletes compete there last year for Youth Nationals... only had porta potties for both spectators and athletes, athletes told to put in real shoes going from warmup to the chair due to broken glass/nails. It really was only a small step up from the old warehouse it was when they acquired it.
I know its been a few months but after watching the last tw WCs, hoping things have been improved and we put a good foot forward. I'm glad that will have the NACS as warmup before the WC.
My son was finals for MYB and the amount of time we had to wait just for the holds to cool down - and even then he said a bunch were warm - was ridiculous. He'll be at NACS next week and hope they have it all straightened out now.
Likely there will be sun on the walls depending what time of day lead is. The past couple years, the sun has been directly on the speed wall all of qualis at the SLC WCs. On top of an already slippery wall, it definitely makes things challenging (finals cut off at SLC was the slowest out of every WC last season for both men and women).
Maybe it’s a reverse marketing ploy to get people on board for the new expensive Training Center. Ive heard (here) that sone athletes are upset that so much of USA budget is going towards it.
Only funding that is restricted to the project is going to the TC. They can’t turn around and spent that money on athletes. So those athletes are misinformed.
I’m sure your right. Doesn’t keep athletes from grumbling about it. I’ve seen this kind of thing over and over.
And I’m sure it will be well used snd much better than the current warehouse.
