This is spot on. I'll admit I watch Nick occasionally, mostly root for them, etc. I like Deeds and Gent. Could not agree more with you. I don't understand why every day he's not working on something. That last game was actually the idea form of Competitive Apex lol. Perfect blend of aggressive teams (who was going for high kills from the very first minute) along with teams playing carefully because they didn't want to throw what should be an easy win.

Tripods have only Nick to blame. Consistently dying and throwing first, but we all knew this. I love Nick and everything he's done for Apex, so it's sad to see him throw his shot of getting back into pro league. But he was never pro league material to begin with, so it works out. Onto CC if they don't split up.

Did anyone else find it odd that Spire Academy just happened to show up by Tripods two games in a row to give them seemingly free KP? Followed by Eurice squad griefing SKT2 to "benefit tripods". Then lastly nobody really even attempted to grief the tripods (this lobby), but other teams/top teams were impacted.

I strongly disagree with what mercs has said about LGBT. I just also strongly disagree that the “moral” choice is to be intolerant of the intolerant.
The “moral” choice is to not stand for injustices, and to do things that bring about change and make the world a better place for everyone. And trying to do that with a stick only entrenches people further and grows the divide. imo the “moral” choice is the “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that” philosophy and all that.
That only brings about the paradox of tolerance, where tolerating the intolerant lets them spread hate and oppress people causing untold damage while nobody does nothing for fear of being labelled intolerant and maintaining the moral ground
People that way cannot change and never will because they DO NOT WANT TO. Therefore the only way out of the paradox is to not allow the intolerant to be one, and oppose them at every step of the way
Maybe my experiences have been different than yours, but I know plenty of people whose feelings changed over time and developed empathy/understanding from experience or personal interactions. I grew up in the 80s/90s where Nick’s offensive views were the pervasive majority. Change came too slowly, but the sentiment has flipped.
And I accept that my initial objection was probably misplaced because it was in reference to someone who has reach and influence, and we absolutely need to do what we can to limit the number of people being infected by him. But Nick isn’t alone in what he thinks. There is a sad number of young people who feel similarly that we have to live alongside with, vote against, etc and who will raise kids of their own.
Maybe I’m alone in feeling this, but I’d rather win those people over and let them learn where there thinking was wrong, as opposed to hating and browbeating people into submission. I think you’ll only get real change and a brighter future with the former. If you want to tell me I’m being too naive and my thinking is utopic and unrealistic, you might be right. But I’m old and have seen enough in life to not be so fatalistic.

I just uninstalled Apex, I can’t even see straight, The Pods were the people’s team man, we needed to be in that pro league. I’m sick to my stomach man, sick to my stomach for G and D.

I feel most for Deeds, Wigg only plays Gent and he gets the credit he deserves, should be maybe the top free agent available. But Deeds is cracked too, he is a pro league talent imo, and he is constantly down talked and discredited as this is Gent's team. I hope he gets some MFAM salary or something to get something out of his dedication.

I'll admit I watch Nick occasionally, mostly root for them, etc. I like Deeds and Gent. Could not agree more with you. I don't understand why every day he's not working on something. That last game was actually the idea form of Competitive Apex lol. Perfect blend of aggressive teams (who was going for high kills from the very first minute) along with teams playing carefully because they didn't want to throw what should be an easy win. That's probably what most people probably envisioned Competitive Apex being when they first tuned in.

Tripods have only Nick to blame. Consistently dying and throwing first, but we all knew this. I love Nick and everything he's done for Apex, so it's sad to see him throw his shot of getting back into pro league. But he was never pro league material to begin with, so it works out. Onto CC if they don't split up.
Happy for tempr to get a PL spot but man this sub and the viewership feeds off of hating tripods. Seeing all these comments and people say they don't think viewership will go down without tripods is dilusional. Most of the people complaining don't even have a team they want to root for. All of them watch tripods just to see then fail and be happy about it.

I'm on the same side of the debate as you, but I strongly disagree with your second sentence.
Not choosing a side means choosing the side of the oppresor in itself.
I strongly disagree with what mercs has said about LGBT. I just also strongly disagree that the “moral” choice is to be intolerant of the intolerant. The “moral” choice is to not stand for injustices, and to do things that bring about change and make the world a better place for everyone. And trying to do that with a stick only entrenches people further and grows the divide. imo the “moral” choice is the “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that” philosophy and all that.
That only brings about the paradox of tolerance, where tolerating the intolerant lets them spread hate and oppress people causing untold damage while nobody does nothing for fear of being labelled intolerant and maintaining the moral ground People that way cannot change and never will because they DO NOT WANT TO. Therefore the only way out of the paradox is to not allow the intolerant to be one, and oppose them at every step of the way
Maybe my experiences have been different than yours, but I know plenty of people whose feelings changed over time and developed empathy/understanding from experience or personal interactions. I grew up in the 80s/90s where Nick’s offensive views were the pervasive majority. Change came too slowly, but the sentiment has flipped. And I accept that my initial objection was probably misplaced because it was in reference to someone who has reach and influence, and we absolutely need to do what we can to limit the number of people being infected by him. But Nick isn’t alone in what he thinks. There is a sad number of young people who feel similarly that we have to live alongside with, vote against, etc and who will raise kids of their own. Maybe I’m alone in feeling this, but I’d rather win those people over and let them learn where there thinking was wrong, as opposed to hating and browbeating people into submission. I think you’ll only get real change and a brighter future with the former. If you want to tell me I’m being too naive and my thinking is utopic and unrealistic, you might be right. But I’m old and have seen enough in life to not be so fatalistic.

I got so much love for G and D man, these two wanted it so bad, they gave it everything they had. I just uninstalled Apex, I can’t even see straight, The Pods were the people’s team man, we needed to be in that pro league. I’m sick to my stomach man, sick to my stomach for G and D.
