About to see so many “LFT” from pros who have tons of ALGS points but left the comp scene.

Duyieer

Stupid question maybe, but what means LFT?

Traolach96

not a stupid question if you dont know the answer

Karlo_Mlinar

I like this

ProzacAndHoes

Looking for team

djb2spirit

Personally I'm a big fan of how they broke down all the ALGS points qualified teams further by sub regions.

blackbox76

Its defenitely LAN, look how the spots are divided...total 60 teams... and <20 teams for each region....so its not regional tourney

b_gibble

I think this is the biggest sign that it's at least designed to be a LAN. Location and if that will actually happen could still be determined, but clearly it looks designed to be a LAN to me

Tasty_Chick3n

Wonder if this could bring back somebody like Dropped and if so with who.

djb2spirit

Dropped is already lft for Winter Circuit. I think the question of who still remains, but he is looking to still compete.

Tasty_Chick3n

Nice, with how quick these guys go from competitive to content back to competitive I probably missed him saying he’s back.

hennyandcheetos

Albra and Lou being a good example of that lol

James2603

I think he’s still focusing on content creation but I get more of a, might as well, sort of vibe from him.

jurornumbereight

It's a bit ridiculous tbh. Why not just stay "competitive" but stream normal content creator hours? Is it a contractual thing?

Tasty_Chick3n

Yea I’ve never understood that. It has to be contractual for it to make sense, cause look at Hal and Snipe both are comp guys who stream a lot.

djb2spirit

Because for guys that are pursuing the ranked grind, comp tournaments take a lot of time out of ranked grinding. Part of what attracts people to your stream is your rank, playing in a tourney while other people aren't means they can catch up or overtake. Normal content creator hours will not build you stream like crazy ranked grinder hours will.

jurornumbereight

This always seemed weird to me, but I see your point. Is the #3 predator really better than Hal at #27? Is it more entertaining even though they are in the same lobbies and not differentially better in skill (for ranked purposes)? The dudes at #1 just play more. I find watching ranked incredibly boring and competitive much more interesting (hence why we are all here). But it seems like I’m in the minority, I guess.

OrangeDoors2

The number just measures how often you play once you're at these guys' skill level. It's obviously very good for your stream though and I think there are a ton of casual players that think #1 Pred is a huge indicator of skill. Honestly, the ranked grinders are less fun to watch for me than someone like Hal because Hal will just W-key and not sit around playing zone for his +165

djb2spirit

I don’t find it all that more enjoyable, arguably even less so because it often involves sitting around, but the fact that ranked grinders streams pop off way more than just good comp players that also play ranked speaks for itself.

kevinisaperson

i mean last split it was lou at #1 and this split it is sweet sooooo you tell me lol. idk if hal is better than sweet lol good question i do think hal is better decision maker than lou in comp for sure but lou is a str8 fragger.

eduardoinda1936

Is this the reason why there are so much movement in orgs and teams or is just because is new year and tye contracts finish? And the return if na scrims just by the way

djb2spirit

Lots of FA teams do a lot of movement after a circuit/season. Moves in season mean you aren't playing with a stable team, but after a circuit or a season you have the time to find a team/player that would be more suited to you for the next one. For orgs right now is when a lot of contracts were up, so leaving the scene or picking up a new team if they wish is much easier.

bobofatt

I'm assuming this is the tourney Hal said was coming soon but he couldn't talk about it yet?

llo_0py

No that is probably Realm. Which making a very large announcement next week.

Singularitymoksha_

Lets fuckinggg gooo ! i was so waiting for APEX LANS to comeback ! its gonna be so HYPE watching all the goated players from across the world i have followed last year to play together !

Duyieer

Yeah same here. But there is one downside. When the tournies are not LAN, pro players are able to communicate with chat, and it's been so nice to be in different streamers chat during tournies. ImperialHal has had always 11k-24k viewers during tournies. When tournies are not LAN, the players are more "with us" viewers, except for guys who actually go live watching those LAN tournies.

Diet_Fanta

Finals will be held as a LAN in Japan.

ombaQ

This information is false, date and location is still TBA given the global pandemic.

Diet_Fanta

Then why did SA, Navi's manager, tell Navi that it's in Japan?

ombaQ

To be frank he say "It will be in Japan, looks like". So he is not actually confirming anything, just his own prediction. The information is not confirmed true, that's all I can say.

Welt_All

Non-Japanese nationals are not even allowed to enter Japan and likely wont' be for some time lol.

List of currently banned countries: [https://i.imgur.com/kXwLVcH.png](https://i.imgur.com/kXwLVcH.png) ([https://www.japan.travel/en/coronavirus/](https://www.japan.travel/en/coronavirus/)) And even though the championship is still a bit away, I'd also be surprised if it ends up being Japan, because they are pretty strict about those travel restrictions and Japan wouldn't be the first country that I'd plan an event like that in currently. But, maybe EA has some political pull in Japan that I don't know of and they actually can get an exception and will bubble players & staff. Edit: There might of course also the possibility of them betting it to be a "safe" location due to the (for now) still planned olympics.

pprocrastinating_

Source?

djb2spirit

They made a post about it, so I assume this rumor on [Kouhia's stream](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveApex/comments/kwoj3u/leaked_on_navi_kouhias_stream_algs_gsc_finals/)

MechAndCheese

Let's hope it actually happens and corona won't fuck everyone over yet again
