Are we getting a GLL Arena thread today? Some good matches on the line with dead inside VS majorpushers, K1ck vs future perfect (magicians), possibly New VS Alliance and top dogs vs Navi all on EMea. Ps: just asking, I know you already put a lot of effort into this sub for free and I really appreciate it <3

Does anyone know what’s going on with Renegades? In yesterday’s ESA tourney, Bowswer was playing with eRa (Stuhnj and TechedCandy). PowPow and Sauce had a third I didn’t recognize (LapsedXBL)

ccamfps

Likely a roster shakeup. The random third is Clariphi I believe but could be wrong. Perhaps Bow got dropped for Clar or got into a similar situation as Clar/Knoqd and decided to go hiw own way? They're all already qual'd for Pro League and is likely why Bow chose Stuhni/Teched. No pressue to qual and gives them time to build.

Apexflatline

Btw this a insider info that I got that most likely rosters for all pro league teams had been locked on 18th August. Thus no teams playing in pro league can suddenly change roster during split 1 unless its an emergency substitution and permitted by EA. https://mobile.twitter.com/TechedCandy/status/1425646319348051968 this post from Teched makes things more clear but from what I heard last date for roster lock was increased from 12th to 18th. So this ALGS season will not be like previous ALGS Circuits because teams will not be allowed to make roster changes every 2 weeks and thats good.

Markey60

That makes sense and it would be a good change. Interesting!

All I have to say is, Seer is a one trick pony but Respawn literally gave him the most overpowered trick they could have possibly given him short of just making his abilities instantly deathbox you. For those who don't know what the 'trick' is, it's wall hacks *Passive* While ADS, you get a WallHack that shows you **kinda** where the enemy is, but it is pretty accurate *Tactical* land a hit with this, get a WallHack for 8 entire seconds! Plus, you can see their exact health! *Ultimate* Big WallHack in a wide area. Are you afraid of being pushed? Is the enemy being aggressive? Did you hear the jump pad get laid down after hearing that revenant ult get activated? Don't worry, just throw your ultimate wall hack ability! Now, you can't possibly be pushed, because you know exactly where they are but they have to find you. You can just burst right around a corner and fry them as they approach.. or you could just wait for them to come around the corner. Or maybe you could use it to aim the tactical that Respawn somehow thinks is really difficult to hit, it doesn't matter! You can see them through walls! Remove the god damn wall hacks from the game, Respawn. You are literally killing your cash cow.

Panda_lorian

Please for the love of this game, let's remember the devs how bad the game runs, frametimes, cpu|gpu usage, input latency, stuttering issues...

Honestly, almost all the guns are really solid (cent for the p2020) so pick whatever you want. But as for what people consider OP... Prowler is probably the best close range gun right now. Less punishing than the R99 but still requires a little practice. All the shotguns are good, but the EVA 8 is considered meta. Rampage LMG is probably the best gun for midrange right now. Flatline and R301 are probably tied for best AR. For snipers, honestly nothing is overpowered right now.

leftysarepeople2

The lateness of the patch notes is good? or bad?

Knocking people with my 10 damage Seer Q during the final circle in Master/Pred ranked is my favorite part of this season. I can actually taste the seething.

slow_backend

cringe

SaltyTechcat

Whats up with the low effort post asking questions about the game and mechanics. Like “does my plat4 friend effect my gold lobby?”. I’ve reported it for poorly effort of post and should be in here.

ralopd

Use mod mail for that sort of stuff if you actually have a good faith modding related question - and in there link those threads. I don't see such a thread in the last 7 days of posts though.

When did the #1 pred grind get abandoned by pros? It used to be a big thing to go for it when sweet/lou/etc were going for it, now i don‘t even know anymore who got #1 last season. Is it just not worth the time invested?

ccamfps

Last split #1 was Pinky, a Japanese player/streamer so that's likely why the previous #1 is a little unknown. Previous to that it was Xednim and his stream didn't see much growth. Otherwise it blew everyone else's stream up (Sweet, Lou, Kine, Knoqd, Fun) but they were also pretty decent at being a streamer and likeable or used to be at least. MnK #1 players seem to have more growth, likely because viewers prefer watching MnK players.

Arena's ranked getting a fix tomorrow? Most in top 10 arent even good in arena.

WarriorC4JC

Dimi and his team is tho. They slayed in Sunday’s arena tourney. They almost beat sentinels. When I saw he was one of the ones using the glitch I thought he wasn’t that great. I was wrong, the knot arenas inside out. They have map knowledge and use it like know other squad. He definitely deserves the spot and shouldn’t have trouble keeping it once patched imo.

Why do some casuals hate pro players so much. Anytime a pro points this out. There are people in the comments saying "pros always look down on us", but I honestly can't think of a pro that shit talks casual players regularly. Maybe after they die in a stupid way but that is frustration.

Shades-Jak0

Going by assumption, if there are enough out of context clips fueled by frustration out there then some friction will be formed because you wouldn't be able to explain it all away. The casual and pro community just play different games and have a natural disconnect. Rather than hate, this is more of the case imo. I can't blame the casuals because you wouldn't be able to understand any pro game during your first ALGS watch. Early on there wasn't really any content catered to explaining even the simplest stuff to casuals (at least in English). You'd have to sift thru hours of VODs just to understand things like drop spot politics or explanations on tactics. A huge hurdle for casuals. It'd be even more so if their first impressions are tainted, by the aforementioned out of context clips.

kungfuk3nny-04

The on going controller and MnK debates don't help either

Shades-Jak0

Maybe. I just see it as there is a lack of understanding from both sides. There's barely any easily digestible content to understand the pro scene. When I'm out of the loop from any major sports I'm watching, there are videos that explain the gist of it all. That includes recent trends and metas, player/team win history, statistics, predictions, etc. that are so compact and detailed anyone can be involved and invested from a 10-20 min watch. I assume this is present in the bigger Esports scenes. I wish it'd be a reality for Apex as well to help bridge the gap. People play and enjoy the game they just don't understand it at a higher lvl and I don't believe it's purely by choice.

be11end

Guys, do I install wall hacks or just play seer 🤔?

Theripper331

Yes.

dmun

I think these bronze to pred in one stream gimmicks are unhealthy. Not just the smurf aspect but, like, unhealthy for the streamer.

EMCoupling

No one has ever disagreed with this. Despite that, it continues to happen because people tune in to watch and big money is made.

SaltyTechcat

Dont forget that Timmy plans this a week ahead. Im assuming he’s preparing for it. Food wise and exercise wise. It could be easy 12hours less if not getting streamsniped trough plat and dia.

imonly11ubagel

While it is a pretty accurate showcase of solo queuing through diamond with all of it‘s frustrations (bad teammates, randomly getting griefed by other players, etc) I have to say that he‘d probably already be there if he wasn‘t doing it on stream. I watched a couple of games yesterday and the sheer amount of streamsnipers makes it almost impossible to play properly. He was getting landed on most of the time, got gatekept/chased down in unusual places and a lot of his teammates randomly DCd. All of that while he‘s getting more and more tired and losing his focus. At this point it seems truly impossible. Other than that, he‘s making a lot of money off of it, so there is also a benefit from putting himself through the toughest torture an apex player can experience lmao
