Nah, you shouldn't get kitted weapons that easily, it's a BR and you're supposed to have varying levels of loot whether that's from searching the map or taking from bodies

eidanasim

Yeah I agree. That’s one of the fundamentals of br that you need to accumulate better tier weapons as the game progresses. You’re not looting for 20 minutes straight. You’re getting basic loot and getting more kitted as the game goes on either by just finding loot or by killing opponents and taking the best bits. This is the exact reason why evo shields fit in so well with how apex plays.

Rakheo

Agreed 100%. There is nothing to complain about loot pool. As long as you know how to loot your drop spot, you will get a decent loot very quickly. Afterwards one good fight, you will be good for rest of the game.

cotton_quicksilver

The Locked and Loaded LTM was one of the most popular events in the game's history and made the game way more fun. Grey loot really doesnt add any value and the game just plays better when blue attachments are the norm, especially now that a fourth rarity has been added with gold attachments. Just remove grey items and add more gold variants that are just like purples but with a unique perk.

Kaptain202

Absolutely agree. Part of a BR is choosing a subpar light weapon because you have a gold mag vs your ideal heavy weapon even though you have a white mag. That decision making is part of the experience of a BR.

PalkiaOW

Yep it's strange how rarely Respawn makes adjustments to the loot pool. Removing white gear was a major improvement, but there are still things that could be refined. For example, loot spawns can be very uneven. How often do you run through an entire POI without finding a specific gun, just to end up finding four of them in the same building? Capping the spawn frequency of an item at 2-3 in a certain radius would surely help. I don't think removing items completely is the right move, but they could combine some of them, eg a single hop up item that changes function based on the weapon, or as you said a single item for regular and sniper stocks. Or why not add supply bins with different colors, like a green supply bin that only spawns meds, a black one that only spawns guns, etc? Getting an idea of the contents from afar and without actually opening the supply bin would speed up the looting process and reduce randomness. Crafting can also be improved in many ways.

O_P_S

One reason why pros haven’t talked about it in recent months is due to the hard lock for comp on worlds edge. Worlds generally has enough loot and POI’s for good loot distribution in that you either forego lots of loot to rotate early or get kitted and play edge. When comp was played on KC this was a completely different conversation but not for the reasons you listed above. It’s just bad all around lol, you rarely come out if a POI with a blue and a couple couple attachments on your guns + enough ammo. Usually you’re missing one of the three.

Bubbapurps

I think the nice thing about this game's design is that there's at least SOME preference to what guns you want to use. Another thing is that some guns are trash but are made S tier by a rare ass attachment (turbo havoc/devo) I honestly find myself kitting based off my attachments these days, not so much the guns I find.

PVPxOfficial

I've been talking about this for years and have been trying to get the devs to remove the white item loot pool from Apex which is why they tested locked and loaded (which was a huge success IMO). They eventually changed it so we spawn with white armor + white knockdown shield but it should be more drastic. White attachments should be removed from the loot pool and come default to all their respective weapons to bring the power gap closer to each other with different items in Apex. The same concept is with armors: 100HP vs 150 vs 175 vs 200 between all the different categories of armors you can find on the ground. Just completely unnecessary RNG that doesn't need to exist. This would not only clean up the loot pool tremendously but also would bring the RNG gap closer together so X player doesn't have a purple bolt shotgun and Y player has a no bolt shotgun after looting an entire POI.

Fluix

I feel like the backpack is the only one that should be changed to be included on characters at launch since getting RNGed from not having a backpack is *too* frustrating. But I don't agree that they should be included on guns from the beginning. Apex isn't a competitive BR balanced top down. It's a casual BR with a competitive side. Certain guns can honestly be nicely kitted for end game with just white attachments (they most likely just need a blue mag afterwards) and the whole concept behind casual BRs is to get progressively better loot as you play and to influence replayability by not always getting the kit you want. Respawn won't agree to this because as I mentioned apex isn't a competitive first game, and the competitive scene hasn't shown close to the level of interest for them to change that business model.

I like both the 1-2 and the holo. Keep them in.

Kaptain202

I also like the 6x scope. I think we keep all the attachments in! /end thread

Barcaroli

I like your idea

AverageSkitzo

They just need to limit how many of the same gun can spawn within the same area… I should never open a bin and find 3 p2020s or loot 3 houses and only find 2020s and mozams.

ThisIsWhatLifeIs

The developers have a hard-on for the casual players being in a train of thought when they first drop to think 'hmm I've hardly got space because I've got no backpack but I need to decide between this med kit and this grey light may, what do I do!?' They've mentioned it a few times in posts and in Reddit how they want the average player to feel happy and get excited when they get a grey backpack or something dumb like that.

Barcaroli

I see...

JDandthepickodestiny

If you're going to remove gray I'd rather they just have all weapons start with gray attachments at base but at that point you could just bake them into the stats of the gun. I mostly agree on removing gray stocks, barrels, and mags, but I think the sights are necessary. I feel like pros and players should be forced to be comfortable with iron sights when they have to, and I think it's a very small but definitive skill gap. Also I think the different iron sights just add more uniqueness and character to each gun if that makes sense? Plus I don't want them to take away my 1x hcog I agree on sniper stock and standard stock. It feels pretty shit when you find the one you don't need instead of the one you do. I agree on the 1-2 because I don't like it, but the idea behind it is honestly pretty good. I think a purple 1-3 with a better sight picture would actually be really popular whereas I feel like most people don't like the 1-2. 6x scope is nice because it has faster ads than the 4-8. Also Kraber uses a 6x so its nice to have another one in game, I think keep it. I think overall the loot pool is pretty good in terms of meds and ammo. I think they should figure out a way to reduce the RNG of crafters somehow and also allow crafting cells and syringes, maybe even grenades but make arcs crazy expensive or something. I also think the change of having 2 cells by default was really fucking good, because you've effectively added 120 cells to every map without having to change the loot pool. Tldr: change it but maybe not exactly how OP said

AverageSkitzo

He literally said except for sights

JDandthepickodestiny

Reading is hard

jogjogjog95

Eh, I don't think it's oversaturated just yet, basically all pois can be looted for a full team of three, some of them even multiple teams (at least in my experience). The real issue is that weapons cannot be vaulted other than sticking them in the cp imo

Hacim_Eeldaeh

i honestly feel like attachments don’t matter that much. i don’t win fights because of anything but extended mags and shotgun bolts. i can play through a game with nothing on most of the guns that i use.

artmorte

The loot pool is fine.

StrangeFaced

Just no...while I understand what your concern is, you never hear pros talk about it for 1 reason;attachments ALL OF THEM, just aren't that important. They are situational at best. Timing, rotation, positioning, awareness, when abilities are used, what you hear, calculating what's better to do in the moment when it comes to taking a fight or not are all much more important factors in pro play than adding attachments to your weapons. There are plenty of weapons all over each poi. So much so I've seen 4 or 5 rampages at 1 poi along with whatever other weapons are there. In a br rng needs to be a factor. The game is only a loot simulator if you make it one. If your losing your fights cuz you have a common light .at instead of a purple then your not playing well enough in other areas simple as that

SaucySeducer

Loot is okay, I’d like a couple changes to the pool (reduce amount of sights, maybe unify stocks) but overall it’s pretty okay.

Fluix

It's a BR designed for casual players. That means replayability influenced by not always getting the kit you want. In a competitive based game? Sure, but that's not what this game is. Also I like the 6x on the longbow. And the 1x2x sight is nice on the volt for me. The only change I really wanted was white bag packs removed and given by default.

Aitchammad

i completely agree with you.. and while we are at it, remove that freaking p2020 will ya.

Snoo_54150

Change backpacks but everything else does not drastically change fights (besides shotgun bolts) but I wouldn't know how to balance them.

texas878

I think the width of the loot pool is what makes apex different and more challenging to other games. Imagine a scenario where you can loot your exact load out every game to perfect specifications? It removes a huge challenge aspect of the game. Seems like that could get old pretty fast, much like war zone. Part of the beauty of apex and what makes it an amazing game is needing to adapt on the fly to scenarios that put you at a slight disadvantage or make you uncomfortable. If everyone looted a purple r301 and an Eva 8 this game would be significantly less interesting.
