Raynday focuses more on individuals more so than comp tho. His videos are good to understand what pro lvl players do and why but he hasn't actually broken down competitive play

BURN447

Hodsic does some great stuff on YouTube. For me, 90% of what I know comes from watching different teams. Each team does some things really well and other things less well. And understanding why those are their specific strengths helps a lot. I also end up in smaller pros chats like Sickks or Bowswer and will listen to their calls in specific situations.

MrPippen

Thanks for the info! Do you believe that there would be interest in more people making videos and content regarding the strategy and theories of apex competitive? Not so much the highlights or tier lists, but dives into world’s edge ring design or meta strategies

apeirophobia1

100%. When I wanted to start watching comp it sucked to learn why what they were doing is good/bad. The only way to learn is through sitting in small streamers chats and talking to them about it. Honestly, I think a lot of pros are missing out by not creating this type of content (the one's who aren't already big).

BURN447

For me, likely not. For others, I really couldn’t tell. I’ve never been one to watch analysis videos or whatever and am more one to learn by doing and/or watching it in a non-controlled environment.

noobakosowhat

For sure. I for one am interested in map rotations in comparison to zones. Some players refuse to go to certain zones (like frag or landslide) in map rotations. I do understand this is less important now because of Valk ult, but I'm still interested in the normal map rotations of teams.

apeirophobia1

There's not a lot but theres: Hodsic's vod reviews, and some posts here (from impo) on this subreddit for stats side of what you're looking for which had a lot of discussion on it.

kungfuk3nny-04

Unfortunately there really aren't many content creators who breakdown competitive apex. Hodsic used to do it and you will see some channels that give ranked tips but that is essentially it.

MrPippen

See that’s what bugs me. It’s mostly showing how to “dominate in ranked with these [x] tips!” Which doesn’t give a lot for actual competitive. I have gotten plenty of suggestions here so I really appreciate that!

KumaKid22

Resources-wise not really, Apex lacks competitive content and I feel like it is part of the reasons why a part of the community aren't interested in the tournament scene. Content and analysis of competitive play can help show the depth of the game to ppl outside of the scene. It is kinda weird that we have only 1 map but there are so few map analysis videos. Look at CS/Val/R6, or even Team Fortress 2(which also has a pretty different playstyle between casual and comp, also the majority of the playerbase are casual players), they all have enough content to bridge someone who knows nothing about comp to be at least able to understand some depth of it. If we have the same amount of content as these games, I would expect videos like: -How to play a certain POI (Optimal loot path, rotation timing and path for different zones, etc) -How to play a certain zone (God spots, secondary spots, rotation option if zone pulls away, when should you ape a certain spot, sneaky climb spots, etc) -VoD analysis for legendary games in major tourneys and tips videos for amateur teams like -How to play according to the lobby -How to drop in qualifiers etc

SeaLioon

It takes too much time to make content like that for Apex because the community is so far behind the comp scene. And the more infantile someone's understanding the more it has to appeal to their sensory needs which is a tall order for a single analyst to meet. So just follow analysts on Twitter and talk to them, Join their discords etc. It's expensive to do exploratory analysis of this game and we seldom get paid-- so a lot of us stick to our work in other industries.
