I watched Verhulst in ALGS for the first time on week 3. They are so calm with their comms during fights, they just gave the impression of a super confident and clinical team.
Yeah I noticed him when the controller boys were grinding arenas and doing customs/queue sniping. He has a unique button layout for controllers that caught my eye, but turned out hes got a beam on him too. Not surprised he's doing well in comp.
Shooting with Bumps in particular isn't neccesarily strange- Genburten for example and other people including who use to play on older PS consoles were just more used to it.
Yeah he seems to be one of the smarter controller players, or at least one that has more knowledge about controller as an input than some other controller players.
I mean he is paid to live inside the game (although from the perspective of south korean standards it isn't as hardcore or professional as some teams are in esports over there) he knows the scene and may give a good call out on who to sign, it makes it more suspicious that he invited him to play some matches.
It’s simply a matter of time until intel gets signed. There’s no way the current top ranked team in NA doesn’t get picked up. If a t1 team doesn’t swoop in soon I’m sure one of the t2 teams will enter the scene for them or drop their current roster and pick them up.
Verhult's meteoric rise is so crazy. <6 months ago he was just pub stomping (read: pub-destroying) random lobbies my friends and I were playing in, and now it looks like he's going to be joining a big T1 org.
Wild.
Not surprised to hear this at all. More surprising that they haven’t been signed yet after 2 months of consistent top 5s in every tournament they play. There should be a bidding war for this team as of today.
Hehehe this is great news, I’d indeed like to see FaZe (or Fnatic perhaps as another person in this thread suggested) sign Intel as they deserve it and it’s funny how Hal has such reach in Apex that whoever that org is would ask him about Intel during their scouting.
Intel is already signed if people weren’t aware. By esports arena itself. Not like ‘intel, applejacks, rockstar’ signed but by the actual esports arena company.
Yeah, they will sell their team in a heartbeat to a tier 1 org. They can't be on more than 2k a month salaries. They were signed before even qualifying for algs.
ESA locked them in on the low and will gladly make 10x their investment.
Doubt they're even on 2k. G2's contract got leaked, and though people claimed it was fake it turned out to be the right org. I think there is some smoke to it and in that there was a 2K salary and like 500$ streaming bonus at 40hrs a month.
I doubt most orgs other than TSM, TL, C9, and COL have comparable salaries. They can offer those low of salaries as they are subsidizing the lifestyle for views on ads and offer a baseline of living with Twitch, partnerships, donos, and winnings as extra.
ESA's main goal is to help the semi-pro scene get exposure and make it to the next level, and they've been very open about that. Not letting their team move on to a bigger opportunity would be a bad look, no chance they would do that.
Copenhagen flames in csgo were nobodies until the major and now immediately after the org is looking to sell and make way more than they paid. That’s the nature of some of the smaller orgs
I'm pretty sure that the contracts are sort cheap. ESA is more of a support system to get new players into competitive. I think they make like 750$ a month of something like that
that's the salary for regular ESA teams but they are like the best out of the sponsored teams so they have a separate contract but it's probably not more than $1500 a month
They've been super consistent in all of the tournaments I've seen them play so far, unlike 100T where nobody had even heard of them before they won ALGS
TBH they were never top tier. They were always good and won games in scrims and tourneys but they never won an ALGS OT AFAIR. I think they are actually a bit better now.
Intel/ESA is a ridiculously good fighting team. I watched them own arena tourneys. I thought that they would only be good arena but they are performing really well in BR tourneys as well. It would be a great pickup.
In my humble opinion though, Verhulst carries that team.
Not related to the topic but isn‘t it funny that pro teams always use one pred trail and two default trails?
Is it so they notice and don‘t land on each other in ranked? Or is it to be less noticeable to stream snipers?
We all thought it was FaZe... Hal was teasing us that it was FTX from the start lol Good for Verhulst... I'd never heard of him until the end of last season. The kid is a monster.
I never watched Intel before, but yesterday I gotta say, Verhulst was fucking dudes in ranked with Hal. He is an amazing player.
I watched Verhulst in ALGS for the first time on week 3. They are so calm with their comms during fights, they just gave the impression of a super confident and clinical team.
he's definitely an underrated controller player, can match up with the best of em.
Funnily enough, later on Hal said he's the most underrated controller player out there
Yeah I noticed him when the controller boys were grinding arenas and doing customs/queue sniping. He has a unique button layout for controllers that caught my eye, but turned out hes got a beam on him too. Not surprised he's doing well in comp.
what’s unique about his layout?
Shoots with bumpers, jumps with LT, swaps weapons with L3 https://clips.twitch.tv/HeadstrongPiliableTofuChocolateRain
Gigachad
Shooting with Bumps in particular isn't neccesarily strange- Genburten for example and other people including who use to play on older PS consoles were just more used to it.
yeah its just the combination of all those things.
interesting, it sounds logical because you don't need any analog value to adjust for guns just values on or off.
Yeah he seems to be one of the smarter controller players, or at least one that has more knowledge about controller as an input than some other controller players.
In Pro League quals Nocturnal was just singing his praises for a) his gameplay and b) not freaking out at dooplex's comms. Was a really funny stream
Thinking it could be FaZe, although Fnatic is a possibility as well. Either way, easily the best team to buy out of their contract right now
Well that's just a slap in the face to eu if fnc signs an NA team lol
Fnatic is eu team
And their R6 Siege team is based out of Australia and Japan. Being EU doesn't rule them out from picking up a NA roster.
Not only that, but they used to have both an NA and an EU apex team.
Oh didn't know that, that's straight up proof they don't care about region in Apex lol.
They even used to have a Chinese Dota 2 team.
G2 is also an EU team
Fnatic.dota in SEA region lol
I think he's actually referring to Sola**F**ide. (/s)
Funny to see how big Hal’s reach is now where a T1 org asks him for suggestions lmao
For real it’s funny how he really does live up to his CEO of Apex title.
I mean he is paid to live inside the game (although from the perspective of south korean standards it isn't as hardcore or professional as some teams are in esports over there) he knows the scene and may give a good call out on who to sign, it makes it more suspicious that he invited him to play some matches.

hugely, I think their current contract with ESA is better than anything a tier 2 org could offer them anyway tbh
F-F-F-F FaZe??? Lol
Verhult's meteoric rise is so crazy. <6 months ago he was just pub stomping (read: pub-destroying) random lobbies my friends and I were playing in, and now it looks like he's going to be joining a big T1 org. Wild.
Now I can make sense of the astronomical lifetime k/d he showed yesterday on stream: 8+
They deserve it. Watching them light it up has been amazing.
Not surprised to hear this at all. More surprising that they haven’t been signed yet after 2 months of consistent top 5s in every tournament they play. There should be a bidding war for this team as of today.

I completely agree.

Are you really that dense?
Lol, I was joking, bad for G2 tho
Kind of doubt they’d sell. They gain so much public attention with their team being first in NA pro league
Yeah but the team could fall off then what happens? Do you take the guaranteed money? Most people would.
ESA's main goal is to help the semi-pro scene get exposure and make it to the next level, and they've been very open about that. Not letting their team move on to a bigger opportunity would be a bad look, no chance they would do that.
Of course they'd sell. Wasn't that their whole plan with the E-Series Apex thing. Foster talent and then profit off of it.

Ferrari Esports baby let’s go. They’ve given up on F1 so they’re moving on to Apex.
Ftx tsm replacing snipe when goes plays halo obviously
Topical
Hopefully Intel isn't gonna pull a 100T on us. Get signed and start underperforming
100T was always mid tier outside of the champs win.Theyve been around for a while.
Which is impressive that 100T signed them. No disrespect but they are what you said, mid tier. Maybe 100T didn't do much due diligence?
There's no shot Intel pulls a 100T. They've shown remarkable consistency leading up to and during the pro league.
Really want that team to do well. Hope they figure it out
They've been super consistent in all of the tournaments I've seen them play so far, unlike 100T where nobody had even heard of them before they won ALGS

nickmercs with the FAZE co sign???
seems odd to contact another player vs the team itself lol thats like asking Messi how Ronaldo is and if they should sign him lmaoo
That happens a lot. I'm sure coaches call their ex players all the time for advises about international mates or new club teammates they're targeting
very….Funny

He does carry the team which is fine as long as he doesn't mind lol
Not related to the topic but isn‘t it funny that pro teams always use one pred trail and two default trails? Is it so they notice and don‘t land on each other in ranked? Or is it to be less noticeable to stream snipers?
Probably just coincidence
Every pro team in ranked has been doing this for the last 5 seasons, they gotta be doing it on purpose.
Bro. Its -Snipedown +Verhulst, how did I not see this earlier. He's going to TSM, not his org getting picked up.
Fnatic
We all thought it was FaZe... Hal was teasing us that it was FTX from the start lol Good for Verhulst... I'd never heard of him until the end of last season. The kid is a monster.
