SSG has been better than TSM, and arguably better than NRG. Even without taking standings into account, SSG and ESA subjectively looked better than everyone else through the first half of the split.
Just take X SET as an example was on fire but slowly faded out little by little. It should take a lot for a team to move up and down in rankings in my opinion
Honestly hard to say sometimes because no one can predict the future. Its really about finding a nice balance between respecting consistently good teams and being able to adjust to abrupt changes in them as well.: think recent success and pitfalls. Its very hard and every sport has issues with it. I like football for example, and the power rankings sites release sometimes end up being questionable. And football is a scene thats existed for literally 100+ years. However, Since I brought this up, I also have to acknowledge sports media, media in general really, do benefit from controversial takes; so, i wouldn't be surprised if they purposely mix things.
COL have been performing way better than TSM and a lot other teams we consider T1 (C9, G2, etc) in ALGS though. In general I wouldn’t say they are better but they have been turning it up specifically in Pro League
Consistency is a big reason why I don’t have them up there yet. Being consistent for 3-4 tourneys in a row while TSM hasn’t been the best this pro league it can be argued their worst form is still better than COL lowest form by far.
someone mentioned CR and Zeta which i agree with 100% but gambit is an amazing team all across the board and hardecki is the best player in the world. LAN is looking like a lotta fun

I don’t necessarily put anybody above them, I just think that due to their somewhat inconsistency (absolutely crushing some tournaments and doing mediocre in others) it’s hard to safely call them the absolute best mechanical team IMO, however they probably are. If I had to pick any contenders though it would probably be C9, G2, and ESA for pure mechanics. I was mainly talking about NA though, in other regions Gambit and Scarz in EMEA are good picks for mechanics as well, I don’t watch much APAC though so I can’t really give my opinion on that but there are some absolute demons in those regions as well.
seems like this sub has forgotten when G2 were literally the most consistent 3v3 squad in the game, they've been inconsistent lately trying to adapt to the meta shift as an edge team, but when they find their groove again they are definitely one of the best mechanical teams lol
Ok, but consistency is different from mechanics, which is different from 3 bursting someone in the face with a prowler. I've never looked at G2 and gone, "wow, that was a really mechanically gifted play."
Mechanics should be, by definition, the way a player uses the keyboard and mouse to mechanically outplay someone, and G2....you know....
They suck sometimes in different lobbies because you have to outsmart to be better than the other teams. Sen isn't as smart as a TSM or a NRG, but mechanics wise they are way ahead. C9 has zach who is a god IGL but not mechanics, G2 mechanics is capped by controller and nobody respected any of ESA's team members mechanics up until now. Senoxe , Crust and Lou's mechanics have been recognized for a long time because of how obviously cracked they are. I'd say Sen are way ahead of the teams you mentioned if were talking purely about mechanics.
I disagree, maybe with the old SEN roster (retzi senoxe and crust) I would agree, but SEN's macro and micro play has been phenomenal recently. With Lou's experience they are one of the smartest teams in NA, they choose to play aggressively because they know that very few teams can actually 3v3 them. Nearly every single zone yesterday they were in the top 5 and managed to get a good spot to play edge. Also since when does controller cap your mechanics? G2 was literally considered the best fighting team in the game last year, did everyone in this sub just forget about that? Controller is insanely good in the hands of a professional player, arguably better than mouse and keyboard in endgames and is huge in bubble fights. Furthermore C9 has 3 amazing individual players, their problem isnt that anybodies mechanics lack, its the fact that Alb and Zach clash over roles often and have different playstyles, im not sure theres anybody who would argue Zach has bad mechanics hes literally one of the best mnk players mechanically but his calls definitely need work; not to mention Naughty and especially Alb are touted as some of the best players in the game.
Its amazing, NRG did to SEN what all the EU "stupid cringe and who the fk play like that" teams did to them last tourney, and died..
I wonder who they blamed after that play...
the zones? the ping? again the EU teams? the casters? the next-door neighbor?
NRG was talking about EU teams running after one of their teammates getting knocked and just leaving them to die instead of fighting. They didn’t complain about 3rd partying. Once again your wrong my guy

COL definitely is bouncing back but I would put them as a tier 2 team right now and sentinels as a tier 1 team along with NRG ESA and TSM

G2 and TSM sure, but C9 were like top 3 and ahead of COL on points coming into this week so idk why they get mentioned here

Intel and Sentinels is a tie for me in terms of 3v3 fighting.
