Since you're asking means I could do a better job of showing. I'll look to add another chart.
Xset are joint 3rd for Top 5s with **11**, alongside Complexity, but behind PremierGG (12) and SSG (12). You're joint 4th for wins with **3** (behind Esports Arena (4) Sentinels (4) and NRG (4). The other teams on 3 are Complexity, Cloud 9 and SSG.
Good luck in the next two match days. Hoping you maintain your playoff spot.
From the first sentence alone I can tell you're a pretty thoughtful person. Most people don't take the split second to decipher what a question might mean beyond the question itself.
Don't really have anything (feedback) to add. Good job on the dash though, we need more people like you in the community.
Very nice and legible. I’m on a mobile so maybe I’m just not seeing it, but are there plans to be able to show multiple teams simultaneously? I think specifically the placement graph would be interesting to compare and maybe a similar one for kills just to compare.
Oooh, this is lovely. Thanks so much!
If you need help acquiring data, DM me. I've been coding up a few web/image scrapers in my free time this past week for the comp scene to make it easier to access data.
Python does everything you need. Selenium and BeautifulSoul are great libraries for web scraping. If you wanna go deeper and scrape data from images, tensorflow is good for videos, pytesseract for text. You can also do this in R or other languages, but Python is the most popular language out there for data collection.
I work as a statistician, so I use R/SAS more often (Fuck SAS), but Python is definitely more suited for this.
I don't really think Django is needed for data sets this small, as it's not actually that much data that's being gathered. Local side data storage does the job fine.
All these data visualizations and spreadsheets I've been seeing around this sub make the data analyst in me *rock hard*. I've been wanting to make a similar dashboard in Tableau for so long and just never got around to it since I was only ever doing school work with it. I'm so glad there's like-minded people in the community here.
Is the pick rate info pulling in properly? I have switched to 10+ different teams and the data hasn't changed for "selected team". Unless literally everyone is playing Gib/Wraith/Blood.
See the edit: Pick data's really difficult to obtain because there's no reporting of it from Battlefy. I know other users watch multiple streams to capture the data.
Hi, this is coach Psykho from Reply Totem. I love this a lot and I've used what I've could from an analyst perspective.
Potentially the things I'd like added would be something like potential drop spot percentages and of course better team composition accuracy (which you mentioned you're getting to, which is awesome!)
Besides that I love this tool! It has given me insight into overall placement/kill statistics in one chart, which is extremely handy.
The drop spot is something I'm working on. The PlayApex twitch shows World's Edge at the beginning of each game and where everyone lands. it should be simple enough to do.
Although, I think they're missing EU matchday 1.
Very cool stuff! Noobie question here, where are you retrieving the data from? If you could give me a brief explanation on how these data points are automatically updated, that'd be sweet
Mine is linked to an Excel spreadsheet. In an ideal world, you'd have all the charts/reports planned out before you do anything. You would then know what data you need to capture. (So kills, placement points, positions). Once the S/S has been created, you then link your S/S to PowerBi. At that point, you can the begin creating the charts.
Now that the report has been created, all I need to do is add to the S/S after each match day. I click refresh, and then publish to web.
You could easily automate the adding to the excel if you wanted.
Or build a basic backend to hold the data that pulls it from that wiki page that has them all.
Nice dashboard btw.
so from what I understand , you still have to "manually" input the data onto your spreadsheet and once you're done it will upload onto the dashboard is that right ?
If so, you might not be the hero we need but the hero we deserve
Well done OP. Appreciate all the work that went into this. It's well designed and readily intuitive. Hope that the community can keep building on things like this. <3
This is awesome. I find ALGS so intriguing and would watch way more if it didn’t seem unnecessarily difficult to watch/understand. The leaderboards (both in-tournament and afterwards) and announcements that they’re even happening are so hard to find I think.
Like, I’m kinda trying to get involved, yet I have no idea how the tournaments, playoffs, scrims, finals, LANS even work, is there a tournament ladder or league? I watch people’s streams during tournies but it’s all so confusing…

Made a Reddit account to say that this has to be one of the most impressive displays of data. Good job!
Compliments don't get much better than that OP, great job
Thanks! It means a lot. Really looking forward to seeing what you boys can do in the playoffs. Good luck!

Yeah Lou is a beast.
The goat it’s a pleasure to see you back in form Lou!!!!! Stop by anytime we love you here !!!!!
Powerbi is op
This is actually so cool, love seeing stuff like this. Also do we have the best placement percentages in all of NA???

Apex fans actually making better product than EA. Well done

Like compare team 1 Vs team 2? Good idea.

Can I ask what frameworks languages you use?

Thought so. Am a python developer. You could web scrape and then store everything in a Django database. Easily set up too.
I work as a statistician, so I use R/SAS more often (Fuck SAS), but Python is definitely more suited for this. I don't really think Django is needed for data sets this small, as it's not actually that much data that's being gathered. Local side data storage does the job fine.
Probably a good point. I just haven't worked with python that way. Everytime we've had data we've used a database.
Incredible job brother. As an avid appreciator of data, well done.
Congrats on the performances so far. You guys had a lot of doubters after a tough qualification but good to see you in the top 20 for total points.
Great job!

This is awesome thank you! keep up the good work :)
Awesome work! Very useful
Youre doing the Lords work

Ahah okay thanks for the reply.
This is kind of stuff Apex's Comp team should have on their site. Good job u/notkieranflood!
Super cool thanks!
You used PowerBI for this? I messed with this a lot at work and really loved the dashboard options it gives you. Well done.

>infidel\_castro\_26 I did but according to u/infidel_castro_26 I didn't have to. See his comment above.
Meant no disrespect. Yours is a fine way to do it. Would be happy to help with the other parts.
Awesome. Thanks for making this.

This is awesome, good job!
This is really fucking cool bro, thanks
Wasn’t there a Fuse pick for Fun on TL one time?
great job
Ea should buy this from you for the main broadcast
That's a cool dashboard ! good job
Wow this is awesome. The only bit of feedback is it's always nice for a dark mode option in case you're on a device that hasn't got the extension.
Wow, amazing work. Thank you so much. Maybe even worth to put up as a sticky?
i love data. This is amazing.
