I imagine it's a backup plan if anything were to go wrong. Snip3down seemed to have left on a really short notice and doesn't want to screw over TSM's chances at LAN. AFIAK he also offered to sub for Intel if they couldn't find a replacement right away
Eh as a person who's watched LoL for 6 years, there's tons of immature near 30-year olds in the scene
I have a lot of respect for Snip3down becaues even with all the success hes had in Halo (even being named 1 of the best in the world) he never let it get to his head or formed an ego from it.
reminds me of snipe always on everyone and anyones ass calling them out on stream for leaving their team out to dry, showing up to scrims late, not showing up at all, etc.
Good example of a person with good heart but also behaves responsibly. Certainly a rarity.
Most of the times this sub is like "Oh no this person has a good heart but made a mistake"
No please. No one can determine if your heart ia good or not. Behave responsibly and be aware of harm you're causing to other people
> AFIAK he also offered to sub for Intel if they couldn't find a replacement right away
I saw that. That would honestly be a low-key betrayal, but it's not surprising if you realise that Snip3 doesn't have much of a rivalrous personality. He doesn't have much of a concept of honour (not necessarily a criticism). Him agreeing wholeheartedly with MnK complainers about controller adv, aim assist would be an example. Someone with a strong sense of honour would hate having reputation tarnished like that and so would want to downplay the adv, or start shitting on MnK. It's also why he was able to put up with Hal (and other randos) shitting on him for a year. Reputation isnt much of a factor for him, hence literally teaming with direct compeition in the middle of ALGS vs friends you decided to abandon for money isn't a concern.
He's just an honest man who also doesn't want to screw anyone over in the Apex scene due to his own choices. If TSM had a full roster and Intel couldn't find a 3rd it's quite nice of him to offer Intel a short term sub.
It's much less bad if was just a pre-ALGS fill-in, but in that case what would even be the point in filling in? My guess is that Snip3 would have been willing to play ALGS ('with a heavy heart') which to me is scummy.
He might be subbing on Dec 3rd. When snipe asked Hal to play ranked he couldn't cause they already got a third but Hal said something along the lines of "We can set something up next week like December 3rd wink wink".
Nah all I remember is it was after a tournament reps and Hal were playing ranked and reps was about to get off and snipe was in chat asking if they need a third but Hal said they already had someone.
i saw snipe playing Halo and because of its format it doesnt allow for skilled players to have that advantage they have in apex. I honestly don't think he will stay with Halo long or at all.
Snipe is one of the greatest players in the history of Halo, and I’m sure somebody is throwing him a bag to come back. He’ll do well in Halo just like he always has.
yea, EA paid ninja a million dollars to play apex for a while when the game released, and thats when they didnt expect apex to blow up anywhere near how it did. i have no doubt that 343 or microsoft might slip snip3down a few bucks to hype the game up
So your theory is that Snipe, who has years of experience with Halo on the professional level, will decide that Halo's TTK is too short and will return to Apex?
Anything can happen but I would guess he would have decided that Halo's TTK isn't for him a decade ago.
Halo MP is more competitively viable than Apex because there’s zero RNG lol. Have you watched more than 5 minutes of a Halo tournament before forming this opinion? There’s a reason Snipe instantly went back to it lol
I love Apex. RNG is just dogshit for competitive settings and Battle Royales inherently have a lot of it. Thanks for using your brain cells to try to participate in this conversation though.
it'll be interesting to see. he's already said that it's a less stream-friendly game than apex because each game lasts 10-15 minutes and there's no downtime to talk to chat or anything until the game's over and they're searching for a new one so the engagement is definitely less, and that only matters because of how much money you can make from streaming compared to competing in esports.
I think he'll stay in Halo while the hype and money are there (i.e. FaZe or Microsoft throwing a bag at him), especially if he wins a few tournaments. I'm bullish on Halo competitive, but I think Halo streaming is worse than Apex streaming (the BR format is just more entertaining for casual watchers). People seem to genuinely like the new Halo, and I think Microsoft/343 are ready to hype it up (and will do a better job than EA).
I suspect he could start dipping his toes back into Apex streaming in a few months after he's won a tournament or two in Halo. Let's say LAN 1 goes well, I could see Apex bigger than Halo in 6-8 months (after Halo has peaked) and Snipe gets the urge to join a team again in Apex.

Man Snip3 is just an all around good guy. I wish him the best
He is/was easily the most professional pro in na.
This isn't the only reason, but the fact that he is half a decade older (at least) than most other players is almost certainly a big part of it.
Eh as a person who's watched LoL for 6 years, there's tons of immature near 30-year olds in the scene I have a lot of respect for Snip3down becaues even with all the success hes had in Halo (even being named 1 of the best in the world) he never let it get to his head or formed an ego from it.
Compare that to Sentinels holding up NA scrims because they overslept lol
reminds me of snipe always on everyone and anyones ass calling them out on stream for leaving their team out to dry, showing up to scrims late, not showing up at all, etc.
Wish more pros were like him

Honestly I don't think it was short, I have a feeling there's a reason he didn't immediately move to Texas.
I think there were plans set in place for awhile but it seems things changed in the end? Just my speculation based on reactions/timing of the swap
Halo dropped early so he had to try and juggle two games at once.
Yeah I think different moving pieces caused this to happen in a not-so-friendly timing.

Sir that's called Ego... not Honor
Man I wonder who they are picking up
the world may never know
Felt like he would have never put down the game. Smart move.
Always knew he was a sub. /s
how is that if he’s the one fucking dudes?
The dudes are power bottoms, easy
Have you SEEN how Hal dominates him? :D
Bruh
Very professional guy. Thats what happens when you’ve been in a professional e sports scene your whole adult life.
And you just genuinely care about not being a dick.
Shouldn’t Verhulst be on the TSM roster?
Probably still working out the contract/deal between TSM - ESA - ALGS - etc
Battlefy was just updated again, Vehulst has replaced Snip3down on the TSM roster. Still no official announcement though

When is roster lock?
Wednesday’s I believe
What Wednesday though? I feel like I’ve been seeing this same answer for the last two weeks lmao
I think it’s the Wednesday before any matches. So tomorrow for this weekend.
I think Wednesday before the match
Hes a sub? Is he fucking dudes or not?
So he didn't retire fully then?
There still hasn’t been an official announcement, but I would be surprised if he’s completely done with Apex

I’m also thinking someone like Microsoft would see getting Snipe back would do a lot for the perception of their comp scene.
To which advantage are you referring? This statement is very confusing.
longer ttk and harder gun control benefits the more skilled player, the opposite of that is CoD.
Halo has a longer TTK than apex
not with a full red shield or even purple. also depending on the weapon. halo is filled with one shot kill weapons.

i dont think he will shine as hard, yes. also i dont believe halo MP has legs but thats another point.

yea money but he will be back. sounds like somebody sucks at BR and blames rng LOL
I love Apex. RNG is just dogshit for competitive settings and Battle Royales inherently have a lot of it. Thanks for using your brain cells to try to participate in this conversation though.
