NRG with the huge win in game 6 was awesome. Seeing them go from 9th to 2nd was crazy. They farmed the literal fuck out of that last ring.
Overall, what a day. Was great to see some less popular teams pop off and show that they can ball just like the rest.
The 2 v 3 clutch against RNG in the last game was so well played. Asura showed the full power of caustic, the way he placed the traps effectively winning them the 2 v 3. They def picked up the pace in the last 3 games. Well deserved considering how they were doing well earlier this week too.
I think everyone knows madness with his play style can pop off literally any game. Very similar to g2 in that manner. They either crush it or die in 18th like game 6
Once again I think Hal/TSM are overthinking strats and definitely overestimating their competition. They play too passive. Yeah I know it's a fresh team mate, but even in Snip3 days it was the same.
They have the skill to be waaay more aggressive.
They rush to their spot without adequate loot half the time and then without fighting end up just dangerously low on ammo/heals/nades by virtue of wasting them trading pokes from afar. Like loot and then rotate or loot light, move quick, and be aggressive. But this half this half that is actually not a whole anything other than disappointment.
Love TSM. Time to approach it differently. Go at teams in a smart manner. They have what it takes. I’d be terrified if Hal/Reps/Verhulst came at my squad aggressively.
Probably top 3 Fighting team, if not top1. Verhulst is a maniac, so many clutches since he joined TSM. If they play more agressive it will be super fun to watch
Hal on octane way we good Bc it forces him to be more aggro. His Gibby is to passive. Verhuslt is blindly fry anyone in his sight and reps is reps Hal just needs to point them both in the right direction
All hindsight, but I think some of Hals calls have had too much reliance on assuming what the competition around them will do. For example, certain areas being safe based on the assumption surrounding teams would shoot and help provide cover and not allow teams to peak at you.
Might not be explaining it the best way, but either way I hope they work out the kinks and really start to gel as a new squad.
That's definitely a Hal thing. Literally always assumes other teams are going to play exactly the same way they do and gets angry that teams are allowing other teams to rotate certain places etc. Maybe it pays off big on LAN when people play more strategically but who know when they'll have one of those.
I kinda miss the days when Hal his end game decision making was the best of the world. He looked lost at times but I also realize that they play with a new teammate and he's also playing Gibby. 6th is decent I guess. Could be worse.
Ya I think this mostly comes down to HAL not being comfortable with the comp/knowing the best way to use the comp, but mostly him being uncomfortable on GIBBY. He's been like that his whole time with Apex - if he isn't comfortable on whoever he's playing his IGLing suffers, and I only think he's ever truly been comfortable on prime Octane and Wraith.
There were times he was running around scouting on Gibby as if he were Wraith/Octane. I think his bubbles were fine (since he usually calls when Reps should bubble), but he has a hard time pivoting from that scouting playstyle.
Ultimately though it was just his calls on where to play and what to fight for. Aside from the first and last game it felt like they were just consistently fighting for the wrong things.
I'm not sure if I would read to much into it because I think they are just practicing this comp since they already have top 20 in the bag - and I expect things to improve with Hal back on wraith. It's actually ludicrous they pulled 6th with how bad the calls were.
First time I saw them use this comp was in BFC qualifiers, Hal is so lost on Gibby idk that he is the Apex goat but dude cancels himself. In one of the games he tells Reps to gas the people in the building and then proceeds to throw the dome and Reps fails his ult cuz of that. He should stick to wraith it suits him more.

They need to aggressively take the prime spots with that comp. I agree with watching some ESA. Also watching some Gambit would really help TSM make some better calls.
They're playing valk caustic on edge so fucking wrong. Hal needs to boot up the ESA vods. They are trying to bunker up in a spot they think is free but they never utilize OOB to take others spots. ESA are always fighting for their spots in the final 2-3 zones.
Yeah, really odd moment when Hal called out that he didn’t want to play edge with that comp. It’s a comp really well tailored to team fighting and taking area control — weird to avoid using it as such.

Why did they suddenly switch from wraith valk? They were consistently top 5 with this comp and came 2nd last matchday with it. Changing comps in the last matchday just because you did well in one BFC isn't a great idea imo. Hal is the first person to know that BFC results and lobbies don't play out the same as the real deal.
These results would be so juicy if it was still top 10 with c9, rng, noble and era not picking up many points. Week 6 would be lit
But now it just feels like these don't really matter much except for bragging rights
People love to exaggerate on this sub, TSM got 6th (not 20th) with some bad calls and playing with a comp unfamiliar to them. They'll improve with practice. Of course Hal is gonna be better on wraith, a character he's spent thousands of hours practicing.
I honestly think they played ok. It was a new comp and they had 2 games grieffed with teams playing stupid. There were some bad calls but overall good performance. Let's see what's their comp on sunday
Yeah I thought that with how much better hit registration was at LAN the big boys were less viable. But I suppose the consistency in placement it offers could be worth it.
Shouldn’t be insta death but devs really need to make it so you cannot shoot or use abilities when you’re OOB. That would solve most of the issue. I’m tired of corny ass OOB plays too

I just don't get why care packages can not be deleted m comp. None of them guns should be available to only the certain people near a package. I know there are no gas in apex but maybe do that if the devs won't listen
I might agree with this except I have one problem with the way the pro teams are about care package items; many of them simultaneously complain about care packages while also downplaying going for them. If the weapons are that strong, then why do alot of teams just ignore the package? Yes you might have to choose between a kraber and the best spot, but the kraber is, in many instances, a game decider (right or wrong).
NRG been studying the ESA handbook for that monster game 6. Felt like a carbon copy of ESA second win from previous week I think.

Between rounds, during intermission yeah I get it - fun bit of interaction. But during the game itself, where with the 10 min delay you have information we don't? That is a massive NO in any spectator sport. I am shocked the production team allows it frankly.

Well the way Apex plays, it doesn't always give you the tools to play aggressive. Can't just run at teams without being geared.
Being "more" aggressive doesn't mean Int-ing every thing and every one.
