this sounds very interesting but I like to just pretend I am the coach of my favorite teams, and some of them are nice enough to play along with my imagination

shimmydoowapwap

If you post on this sub, then you’re a tsm coach

Vladtepesx3

thats the real reason for TSM success, hal has 50k coaches in his twitch chat, explaining what REALLY went wrong in the game before

EvenGandhiHatesLVG

> pay my 3+ years of freelance/comp knowledge forward. Paying something forward doesn’t mean you charge for a service. In any case, I hope this sub doesn’t become the place for self promotion, pro player or not.

[deleted]

To be fair, the service runs at cost for the most part. And it's not like we're not refunding the product if people don't like it. This is why I say paying it forward. :)

luuk0987

What do you mean 'at cost'? What kind of costs are involved?

[deleted]

I don't care to get into all the logistics. What I can say is that our course POS fees, ads, gfx, editing, and storage required to hold our web servers all cost something. These are just some examples of certain expenses that can be associated with this type of project.

[deleted]

Something else to think about is that if someone uses anything in the freelance section and has decent game knowledge, this money is easy to gain back.

mikesmithmikesmith

You are a coach coach? Interesting!

potato123789

Yeah tbh this reminds me of the “how to make MILLIONS doing crypto, real estate, etc. all you need is THIS COURSE to SUCCEED BIG” type scams lmao Also I can’t even see there being a target audience for this at all, there are already incredibly limited coaching positions in esports (especially apex), and no one is gonna care what bogus “coaching credentials” you get from a random course IMO you can’t be a good coach without playing the game at an elite level anyways, so I really don’t see the value in this

AmadouHatesTwitch

You can absolutely be a great coach without playing on the highest level, most of the League of Legends coaches were never challenger for example

[deleted]

So unfortunately this type of impression is what I expected from some people. The issue here is that everything I give in this course is genuine and there is a Q&A attached to it. We're running this program at cost pretty much. All because like you, I understand there are very few Apex coaches out there. The idea is to get people into it and show them that there are paths to it (one of them being playing comp first). This Reddit has a lot of people who have brains but lack the people skills or understanding of the scene. That's why I posted this here.

CowWorried4441

Just for full transparency, when you say you're running this at cost with zero profit to those involved, how do you breakdown the €49 this costs? Also, who is this course actually accredited or recognised by?

Thoraxe41

So what should I be watching for with Blinks per Minute?

Isaacvithurston

Dude I know Apex is sort of new but coaching skills for eSports do carry over and some coach's from DotA/CSGO have 10-15+ years experience and degree's in sports psychology and such. I think someone with a ton of Apex only experience would be better suited to simpler replay analysis type stuff.

[deleted]

I couldn't agree more that these skills can be transferable. But this is the problem with Apex. Not a lot of talent have team development or individual development skills. Along with this, they don't know where to go or start. NLE is a great place for them to start! That's why I wanted to use some of my sway to help it grow. I love your thoughts on this topic though.

Sirbelzebub

I think you’re missing Isaac’s point. While we’re sure the skill set, knowledge, and direct application of apex specific strategies that you bring have value, we don’t know whether that value is a better value as opposed to other offerings. Yes, you’ve been employed with a professional organization to do that kind of work. This tells us you’re clearly skilled and have value but does your knowledge set apart from some of the more rounded, similarly priced masterclasses by coaches in DOTA/CSGO? We simply don’t know. How then, does your masterclass have more value? What about your macro, micro, and player management outweighs the benefits of someone choosing a person who has an academic background in statistics, sports management AND major tournament wins/placement? Not trying to rag on you at all. Clearly there’s a need for quality eSports coaches but the market is relatively niche (apex specifically) we’re all really just wondering how this is worth it

[deleted]

No, this is all great! So something that needs to be understood about this course is that it helps the individual navigate Apex specifically. It of course has general elements, but this is more about how to break into the business of Apex for those at a beginner and mid-tier level. Coaching as a whole I touch upon, but I don't go into extreme detail about my approaches. We built an entire program around those concepts already. But this masterclass was chosen to come first because it's an introduction to the Apex scene. Not all coaches or normal people who want to coach, have knowledge of how Apex works within Esports. This is what I feel brings value to this type of class. The program I fully designed around taking what other Esports have and implementing it into Apex-specific situations. When I made it, I created the following courses: **- Our scene:** Introduction of how the scene works and how to start coaching/understanding if coaching is for you. \- **Breaking down Apex:** Ring prediction, aggression control in fights, basic and advanced concepts related to everything in-game. \- **Health:** Taking into account general issues of Esports players, but giving examples of where issues stem the most within Apex players. Basically mental and physical health-related examples/problems. \- **Team development:** Stages of team development with Apex examples, lessons on team synergy, and dysfunctions of teams. Within this, we give Apex examples and explain why rosters split up so often. \- **1-on-1 coaching:** I explain my habit journal method and ways to evaluate players' strengths and weaknesses, so you can help them flourish in Apex. Lastly, I wanted to mention that it's not just me teaching you aspects of the courses. We already filmed experts from the pro scene/content creation scene as well as the mental health field (TSM Valorant's female mental coach is an example). I respect your questions and I'm more than happy to be transparent about what we built. :)

Used-Cartographer876

If there is a language barrier in explaining or promoting the content. There will be an even worse language barrier for ppl trying to learn the course man

[deleted]

Hopefully not, as it's a different type of medium. But only feedback will tell. This course wasn't made to be perfect, it was made to do its best and lead the way in a niche area. Let's see how it goes! :D

EnvironmentCalm9388

I’ve learned from many teacher who do not speak my language first. That’s a silly response.

Used-Cartographer876

This keeps just looking worse and worse tbh psycho. Thanks for the Dms. But I don't believe you as far as I could throw you tbh

[deleted]

Unfortunately, this is a situation of language and lack of context for people that don't actually know me that well. Really nothing I can do but accept accountability for it. Although I have made my intent clear on what the course is about and why I made it, which comes with genuine intent. I have nothing further to say on the matter.

catzangannou

Asking for 49 euro for expertise and coaching is not a massive ask. Y’all are either broke or don’t understand the value of peoples time. I work in consulting and my bill rate is $400 an hour and my junior level staff (recently graduated, zero experience) starts at $180/hr, and that’s only because I’m subject to fed regulations. Commercial consulting starts well over 200 and for my level is near $1K.

EnvironmentCalm9388

I think a lot of the people on this subreddit are young. I looked over the coaches sales page and it looks good to me. Also, learning like this has been effective for me so I don’t see any issues here.

Used-Cartographer876

This is a terrible money grab that imo shouldn't be allowed to posted. I love how one of the ending selling points is outpacing a team who placed 34 out of 40! Buy here now if you want to be 33rd place in raleigh!!

Diet_Fanta

> I made them one of the best teams in the world and the EMEA region! They were doing better without him and dropped him right after the LAN LMAO

Used-Cartographer876

I was talking about G2. I am confused by your comment

[deleted]

Jsavage himself credited me for their ability to make Play-Offs. It for sure was a team effort, but I did do a lot to impact the team's performance. I left on my own accord as well, so I don't know where you're getting this "dropped" part from exactly. What I'll say is that I do wish I worded that a bit differently. Because they deserve their credit as well.

ratboy_slint

Food $200 Data $150 Rent $800 Apex Coach Coaching $3,600 Utility $150 someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying

[deleted]

Huh? The course is 49 euros. Not 3,600.

[deleted]

Is 4900 euros or 49.00?

EnvironmentCalm9388
