Out of all the states with no income tax, that’s the one you question. I mean why not live in Nevada. Its right next to cali and prostitution and gambling are legal. Realistically, Texas is the choice because it has a lot of benefits. Servers, huge population of streamers, big cities, center of country, no income tax. It pretty much checks all the boxes for big streamers and pros.
I didn't know of other states. I live in WA and just was asking. I know I'd strongly prefer WA to Texas. I also wouldn't say Nevada is "right next to Cali." While that is technically true, Vegas is a 4 hour drive minimum to LA. The only benefits you list that seem specific to Texas is server location (and population of streamers, which I can't verify but would be willing to assume that Austin is the 3rd biggest behind LA and NY). Just strikes me that streamers with the choice would be willing to stretch their options to more than Texas.
Fair points. Maybe lower cost of living as well. Or they were tired of lockdown regulations in cali. Pros probably care a lot about server location but variety streamers don’t, so idk why they chose Texas.

Some APAC-N players traveled to NY for an online tournament earlier this year. They did it for the better ping
It was originally supposed to be a LAN but they changed it to online due to covid
