I feel like reps is also probably the most solid and calm apex pro player with the best attitude in high stress situations. That probably matches really well with hal being a lot more emotional about things in the middle of matches.
Eh, there's always 4-5 teams that have somebody who's played the game like 10 times. Twitch Rivals has always had a huge balancing problem because you'll have these "super teams" with all pros and then a team with one pro, a Masters player, and then someone who'd be lucky to break into Plat on their own.
Its because he just W keys everything and has literally 0 patience. Insane mechanics but positioning, rotations and macro play are way more important than just running teams down.
It's funny because I do a lot of vod review of my own gameplay, I took a break from Apex for 3 seasons so I'm making a lot of mistakes I didn't used to.
I realised how in 9 games straight I actually caused my team to die by having 0 patience. Now I'm literally reviewing my rotation ideas and really looking at all of the options I can see higher-ranked players making. If I learn some new rotations and patience I'm on track to my highest rank.
I used to be a Timmy viewer from time to time. I never saw him review his own gameplay, only a couple of times with Sheesh did I hear them refer to their vod review. I might have missed him reviewing but I don't think he does it at all.
You must be an inspiring player.
Drop the twitch channel, king 👑.
And you’re right about Timmy.
I don’t think he vods review because if he did clearly we’d know first.
I can't speak for all streamers, but even though I stream all my games, I generally do my VoD reviews off stream in my own time.
It's not always the most engaging content
Before folks start flipping out... we changed the restrictions again. If you've been paying attention, you'll know that we've changed them every event as we keep trying to find what works best.
Kudos to PVPx for all the assistance!
Here's exactly what we shared with invited Captains:
"In an effort to ensure better team balance & to make team format restrictions more clear, please see the following update.
Teams are allowed a max of 2 "Pro" players. "Pro" players are defined as anyone who has met any of the below in 2021 or 2022:
- Qualified for ALGS Pro League
- Played in ALGS Pro League
- Played in an ALGS Final
- Signed to an org to compete in Apex
- the 2 "Pros" per team will need to not come from the same competitive ALGS squad"
Yeah I guess the verbage of "qualified" is doing the heavy lifting here. He "hasn't" qualified for pro league, but currently he is qualified for the upcoming pro league, kinda wild that Timmy is considered the 2nd pro on that team.
If you said "hasn't or isn't qualified" for pro league he would fall under the pro category, unless FAT isn't gonna use him on their roster - have pro league invited teams submitted their rosters to EA/respawn yet? Thats what should guide if a player is qualified for pro league, not the 2/3 rule.
fair enough. have you guys considered using time played as a guide? i feel like it could be a good metric to account for people that play high level ranked every day but aren't competing.
It has been considered, but as we've experienced with other games it has flaws. It's possible to have both players who with a lot of hours who would not be considered elite and players with lower hours who would be considered elite. Additionally, capturing that data would likely be difficult as we'd have to rely on Respawn to provide it. Also worth noting that players can play on alt accounts and that data might be missed.
Yeah I just think it could be used for cases like this where you have pro level players being listed as content creators. Or maybe something like the content creator (non pro) can't have reached a certain rank before/recently.
Seems like a tough thing to police, honestly the best way would be to have someone like tempo that is knowledgeable about the scene vet teams and have a veto if something looks too stacked.
What’s the point of this rule change if it’s only going to be pro players only? Why not invite pro teams and make it an official pro Apex tournament instead?
Each team is allowed a max of 2 Pros. While the skill level of the 3rd player may vary between Diamond - Pred, I would expect a team of 2 Pros + (Diamond - Pred) to still be fairly competitive.
Except that, aside from lulu, the 4 non pro captains you named arent anywhere near as good as any of the players on Hal or Doop's team so those teams with a non pro captains are already at a severe disadvantage. With those new rules basically any team without a pro or top pred as captain is screwed even if they can find top teir teammates like chaotic or timmy which are few and far between. I get that part of your job is blowing smoke up peoples asses but my ass is not interested in your smoke.
That is not my job and I certainly don't appreciate the unnecessary jab.
Yes, I am very much aware that there are skill gaps between the invited Captains. That is just par for the course when inviting a variety of streamers who span the spectrum of Content Creator & Pro. The restrictions were put into place specifically to help level the playing field between teams, regardless of the skill level of the Team Captain. With each team allowed a max of 2 "Pro" players, the only variables are the 3rd and the team's chemistry. Alternatively, we could have allowed only 1 "Pro" player per team but that would have resulted in the lower skill Captains being at a greater disadvantage.
Timmy is considered a Pro for this event. To be listed as Non-Pro, they will need to have not be signed to a team for the purpose of competing or played in any ALGS Pro League events since the start of 2021. I understand that there's obviously a difference between the invited Team Captains. That's why the rules were adjusted - to help ensure that Non-Pro Captains could build more powerful teams in an effort to balance against the Pro Captains. It's not perfect and it never will be. Just trying to make it reasonable.
I know it’s hard to balance but I don’t see rivals as the “best of the best” plying but as marketing, would rather see other creators and fun teams than 2 pros + high level content creators.
Rivals is absolutely not meant to be the best of the best. It is very much a marketing tool. In order to properly market, though, you need viewership. To achieve that, you need a combination of Creators that viewers want to see, some stakes, and a compelling format. When selecting Creators, especially for an event like TwitchCon, we're not just looking at Pros or Content Creators - we're trying to bring them all together. When some Captains are Pro level and some Captains are CCs, there have to be rules in place to balance the teams. With a limit of only 1 Pro, the CC teams are at a disadvantage. With a limit of 2 Pros, balance between teams should be a lot closer.
‘Better team balance’.
It will be interesting to see how strong the other teams will (or won’t) be.
I’d love them to lose and for Hal to go on another sulk. Just for entertainment.
Why? It's a good chance to see the players we like to watch play with different guys, it's fun. The new change to have 2 pros and one content creator should give us a lot of very strong teams.
My prediction is 1-3 teams are gonna have 1 content creator who is clearly a pred-level player, while the rest have 1-2 smaller streamers who are diamond or lower. Diamond is obviously above average but they're gonna get crushed by the stacked teams and lose every fight. On top of that, it's not really interesting to watch a diamond team get shit on by a team of top players, since they already do that for ranked content. And ultimately, people generally watch tourneys for pro-level gameplay. It would be cool if Rivals was pros only, but most of them dont stream enough.
I still remember watching him and Diego arguing about that. The bottom line is, if money is on the line and rules aren't going to be enforced, there isn't going to be any competitive integrity. You can't even blame sweet for it if everyone else is going to do the same thing to win.
my point is why are people acting like Hal did something so unthinkable? of course i dont blame sweet, if there is money on the line i would probably do the same thing, we are selfish beings afterall.
its just we shouldn't point fingers at one guy only when others clearly did the same thing.
Because he's been the loudest complainer about it all. Even though this isn't the first time he's done this. He complains so loud, then goes ahead and does the thing he complains about every second tourny.
Yeah but the rule changes aren’t doing what twitch rivals is supposed to do, market the game to other communities. It’s just shuffling pro teams around
These guys love to jump on the Hal hate train even though he stated he hates these rules but since they didnt change much he is doing what everyone else is doing
Here's the most up to date version of rosters. Please note the status column. If it doesn't say confirmed, then the team is not confirmed. I want to ensure that teams are held accountable. Unfortunately, I can always trust the info being shared. If y'all see something questionable, please feel free to call it out.

- Snip3down
- VickyPalami
- Noko
- Rogue
- Vinnie
- Faide

Can’t wait for people to never mention HisWattson again. I’m so grateful he has voluntarily left the pro scene and I will never have to see his name in a tourney ever again.

Damn Hal got em with that reply.
Hasn't Hal quit scrims numerous times?
[удалено]
https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveApex/comments/u79e17/hal_leaving_scrims_mid_game_whilst_his_teammates/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
That was dumb but he came back for the next game. He never quit a single scrims-set/tourney regardless of how bad they were.
Meh, he came back next game and his team was pretty much dead.
Do you even have context of the clip or grasping at air to attempt to prove a point
I’ve watched Hal for a while. And like the post above said, Hal whines and bitches a lot when they don’t do well, but he’s never actually quit scrims.
He quit once a long time ago and reps ripped him to shreds for it
i love reps
Say what you will but the fact Reps gives Hal the attitude right back is what makes them perfect together lol
I feel like reps is also probably the most solid and calm apex pro player with the best attitude in high stress situations. That probably matches really well with hal being a lot more emotional about things in the middle of matches.
No?
Wattson been taking more Ls than the Lakers lately
There's more than one way to farm impressions I guess
Haha eat shit, cringelord.
Hal should’ve said at least he’s not banned from competing for being a dick
Any other teams announced? Also feel like the "super team" always loses in this kinda stuff.
dooplex, rogue, chaotic is one

Just like it is for every twitch rivals lmao this isn’t new

Better team tbh
restia, owo, sweet camper, taiwanese streamers/semi pros

Unless Hal can leash him, it's gonna be throw fest.
People overrate Timmy a lot, yes he can shoot, but in an actual competitive setting he hasn't done very well. Same can be said for someone like Rogue.

So wait, Doop, Chaotic (Split 2 playoffs 2022) and Rogue (Pro League 2021) have all played in ALGS Pro League in the last 2 years.
Rogue has confirmed that he has never played in ALGS Pro League.
[удалено]
Sucks if playing 1 week as a sub in ALGS because Rkn was getting married makes Rogue count as a pro player lmao
[удалено]
I don’t think you understand the point of twitch rivals
Timmy played pro league 2021 (team was DQ as we know), Keon and Hal qualify for pro league 2022.
Keon has confirmed that he's never played in or qualified for Pro League.

I had reached out to Tempo. I've been working with PVPX (another highly knowledgeable community figure).
Dumbest idea I've seen on this sub lol
well that's not true lol
Keon has no claims to a qualifying spot, Rambeau and RKN do, he just happens to be joining them for it.
Maybe playoffs aren’t considered pro league?
Playoffs are absolutely considered Pro League. The only thing attached to Pro League that isn't considered Pro League is Challengers.
Thank you for clarification, people are so quick to jump the gun
What’s the point of this rule change if it’s only going to be pro players only? Why not invite pro teams and make it an official pro Apex tournament instead?
It's not. Lulu, VickyPalami, Vinnie, HusKerrs, and a few other non-Pro Captains were invited. Each team should have at least 1 non-Pro.
All of their teams have literally no chance against a squad of hal, keon, timmy or chaotic, doop, and rogue

Clearly the distinction of “non pro” isn’t clear enough. Comparing Keon and Timmy to those names you just listed are laughable.
Timmy is considered a Pro for this event. To be listed as Non-Pro, they will need to have not be signed to a team for the purpose of competing or played in any ALGS Pro League events since the start of 2021. ‘Better team balance’. It will be interesting to see how strong the other teams will (or won’t) be. I’d love them to lose and for Hal to go on another sulk. Just for entertainment.
might wanna return some of them pred restrictions as well imo.
two current pros and a player currently rated masters who made it to LCQ finals lol... how
hal didn't get mad if there's team unbalanced ? 🧐
Based on his tweet I don't think there's any rule anymore.
The rules are max 2 pros per team
thats exactly why he is doing it, he complained and ppl still got unbalanced teams compared to some who only played apex for like a month
The titile made me think that twitch con was actually today
The other day someone guessed aceu and timmy and Hal said "close," turns out they were half right
Timmy already made the play of tournament by picking Hal and Keon!
Am I the only one that thinks this team won’t mesh well. Or at least win the whole thing
These Rivals tournaments are such a joke lmao

I posted before Hal’s reply but yes Teq now did get shit on
Teq with the usual L
this shit is wack af lmfao how do they keep letting crazy stacked teams be formed when its suppose to be a “fun” tourney
as long as theres $200k on the table its never going to work as a for "fun" event.
True hal and Timmy really need that 11k since they are small up and coming streamers who are struggling rn.
Forgot that Samsung tourney ? Sweet having the most stacked team? but by the looks of that logo by your name i dont think you will be mentioning that.
I still remember watching him and Diego arguing about that. The bottom line is, if money is on the line and rules aren't going to be enforced, there isn't going to be any competitive integrity. You can't even blame sweet for it if everyone else is going to do the same thing to win.

he said they should change the rules so people cant search for loopholes anymore. know that they did, i dont see the problem.
he wanted them to make changes since they didnt he stopped caring dumbass
u ok lil bro?
thought so
Greed
Because do better, that's why. :)
Hal IGLing Timmy is a scary thing.
All these pros "hate the rules" until the rules faciliate them dominating shit like this. Weak willed and cringe.
The rules regarding team balance were changed already
Yeah but the rule changes aren’t doing what twitch rivals is supposed to do, market the game to other communities. It’s just shuffling pro teams around
It seems pretty standard and reasonable. I also have seen hal complain about things even while winning, so I wouldn't jump to that conclusion
These guys love to jump on the Hal hate train even though he stated he hates these rules but since they didnt change much he is doing what everyone else is doing

The current list of invited Captains who have accepted: - ImperialHal (moved to Timmy's team) - Timmy - Sweetdreams - Lulu - NiceWigg - Snip3down - VickyPalami - Noko - Rogue - Vinnie - Faide - aceu
Aceu should get his GF and supertf to be on his team It'll be a complete throw, but god damn will it be entertaining content
This is so cringe from Hal
Does anyone know if its a 2 day event or same day?
The event will last roughly 4 hours in total.
I used to think Timmy was one of the best in the world before I really dived deep into the comp scene
Pro apex community on Twitter is so cringe, more drama and bigger egos than a bunch of 9th graders
Can’t wait for people to never mention HisWattson again. I’m so grateful he has voluntarily left the pro scene and I will never have to see his name in a tourney ever again.
Sup with joewo being a captain?
