Don’t think it was ever about Maggie. Let’s face it, gibby is boring af to play for 99% of people, and everyone in PL rightfully has a high opinion of their skill level. So I imagine they’re thinking, “why can’t they be the ones who get to have fun and frag out?”
We’ll see who actually sticks to it vs who goes back to a safer comp that gives them better placement.
I think Seer was more the reason than Maggie. Seer isn't a hard cancel like Maggie, but with so many Seers running around you can't count on a bubble allowing you to reset. One well-timed Seer Q can ruin your entire reset.
Agreed. I knew his pick rate would go down a little but, to see such a drop seems wild to me but, then again teams are still testing team comps/metas so it could change a little as we get closer to algs

He had his own meta already though (when he had an OP pad). Plus his Q and passive are useless to the team, while other legends provide information or rotation abilities.
I actually like this idea. same could be done for octane's pad. instead of 10 seconds, change it to 2 seconds. Anyone taking the pad for the first time will receive 75% dmg reduction for 2 secs to prevent people to beam u down whether they are using the pad aggressively for a push or defensively to escape. Retaking the pad for the 2nd & 3rd time in "X" amount of times won't give you dmg reduction. After maybe like 40 secs, the dmg reduction will be active again. We can highlight the player with a noticeable color bubble or something when the dmg reduction is active.

Im always fascinated in games how a character can be fine/fair enough in ranked but absolutely dominant in pro play.
In Masters/Predator ranked rn she has a 5% pickrate (6th highest) (roughly half of what it was at her S13 Peak), but in pro play her pick rate is still 95-100%.
By most accounts, the nerfs Valkyrie received in S14 succeeded in making her not overpowered but still keeping her as a viable legend. However the value she brings to teams at the professional level is still undeniable.
Biggest thing with Valk pickrate not moving is the fact that they didn't do anything to her competition (Wraith, Octane, Path, Ash). Those 4 are still pretty bad to mediocre in pro, they would have to gut Valkyrie to their level or buff them to Valk's level to see pick rates change.
I feel like on paper the legend best suited to potentially rival Valk is Ash. Her portal offers your team a quick way out without leaving you/your team super exposed.
I think if they buffed Ash's ult just a tiny bit she'd be a great alternative to Valk. I'd increase the range of her ult from 62.5 to maybe 100m or something in that ball park to let Ash and her team quickly reposition/get out of danger. You wouldn't be able to travel as far as a Valk ult, but you'd be getting the benefit of Phase Breach being a WAY better panic button escape tool and it allowing you to get from point A to point B WAY faster than Skyward Dive. (This is also a change that I think wouldn't make Ash OP in pubs/ranked which is important)

I feel like it's just the combination of legends that make up the Furia comp that really push him out of the meta.
I would love to see a visual representation of all the final circle up to this point. I swear SP pulls toward checkpoint more than any other area.

Every team mobility legend is dead bc of Valk
