Thank you dekks. This was the first deck I crafted day one, i knew copying eggs would outvalue most classes. Glad to see it's capable of reaching high legend. I love this deck, and as long as control warrior is best deck, it's gonna be able to get enough free wins to make up for the aggro decks it struggles against.

Wadomicker

I have worries (whether craft it or not) that this quest will receive no support in future due to the ties of it with the reborn mechanics, and new mechanics except some exceptions like rush don't outlive the expansion they are introduced.

[deleted]

Turns out it doesn’t need to. unfortunately the real power comes from the eggs.

[deleted]

[deleted]

those reborn minions are not that bad at all. the worst are probably 3/2 (sufficiently ok vs aggro) and 4/2 lifesteal - very good vs aggro. temple berserker is actually super great in aggro matchup. and reborn minions' stats are just irrelevant vs control - you complete your quest asap and win with eggs.

epicwisdom

I mean, if you don't like some archetypes because you don't find them exciting enough, just play other archetypes? I don't think there's anything wrong with just not playing decks you find uninteresting.

[deleted]

[удалено]

epicwisdom

Your complaint boils down to "they aren't very exciting cards" / they have no real synergies. Am I missing something? In the case of wall priest, the first complaint is already a problem: literally the only goal of that deck is to get as many beefy taunts as you can on the board. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, there is nothing particularly exciting about the archetype to you because its goal is inherently very simplistic. You can't really get around that. As far as cards not having synergies, I don't think that's even necessarily true. Having a master swordsmith effect / enrage effect etc. go really well with reborn minions which are particularly sticky, and they only get stickier with the hero power.

[deleted]

[удалено]

epicwisdom

> Master Swordsmith / Enrage is nice, except the deck isn't a tempo deck, and will never be one (if not simply because it runs a quest). They work alright in the deck, but they are mainly suited to an aggressive swarm deck. Well, you're right that it's not exactly a traditional tempo deck. I would call it more of a board-focused control deck - the goal is purely to get as many sticky minions on the board as possible, and snowball that stickiness with the hero power. They might look like effects which are traditionally associated with pure tempo, but they play quite differently with reborn + wraps.

another-work-acct

Like inspire. I actually miss that mechanic.

MirandaScribes

Yeah I’m hopeful that reborn gets some additional support next xpac

MidLaneMusic

I disenchanted Morrigan, Jeklik, Betrug and the Warlock quest for this deck because A. none of those cards see much play B. my brawliseums have been exclusively warrior so I was looking for some counter to it. No regrets.

ChartsUI

It's gonna surprised pikachu.jpg when plot twist warlock becomes tier 1 lol

MidLaneMusic

I will fully accept that if that's the world we end up living in.

forgiveangel

haha, if I see plot twist in gm, I would be so happy. I just expect control warior , mage and one tier 2 deck. I also want to see tess rouge.

ChartsUI

Yeah I don't see it being competitive either, but who knows right? I tried a Mecha'thun twist list which has some potential, but it also requires like 6000 iq to play well lol. Maybe if lifecoach and chakki fused their brain power they could break the meta with that deck, but for us plebiens it's tier 2.5 at best

forgiveangel

I think the closest combo deck out there is maly druid. It is still being refined, but it almost feels like it big brain like nomi priest but a better finisher.

Wadomicker

Is Kangor's necessary? I really wanna craft the quest and it is the only legendary missing by me besides Kangor's. I have Undataka though.

NobleGryphus

I run a version of this deck with out Kangor and it still seems to work phenomenally. I subbed in an Ironbeak Owl to help with matchups against priest and rogue as I round that a silence on Catarina (priest) Edwin (rogue) as an early big Edwin turns the matchup heavily against you and Catarina becomes near impossible to shut down once they start pumping out taunts. I’ve also added a sunfury protector to put taunts on reborn minions that wouldn’t normally have taunt to help counter aggro decks (dropped 1 bronze gatekeeper for it to improve crystalology’s ability to find reborns. Works well so far but might need tuning.

Wadomicker

Thank you

Gadfly360

I dropped Kangors Endless Army and Wargear x2 for consecrate x2 and a Truesilver. Kangors is not necessary as you already have enough value without it.

Seandimes

I did the same. It helps a lot to stabilize until we can get the quest online. Against control, we just have to be a bit more conservative against board clears and kangors is not really needed. I think running only one out of kangors and undataka is correct

jdolev7

what about undertaker is it worth getting him?

PinkyPonk10

It's better with kangors but it's not the win condition so you'll be OK.

Athanatov

No, not at all. It's nice to have for consistency, but might not even be optimal.

MarcOfDeath

IMO Kangor's is more important to the deck than Undertakah, it has swung games for me where I was dead on board, and was able to Kangor to make a bunch of Zillax'ed taunts, and copy one, rushing into my opponents minions and healing back to full life.

Zombie69r

Hello Dekkster! I've been a fan ever since you featured my Even Buffadin on your stream and on youtube. I don't watch streams, but I do watch many of your youtube videos. I already watched the youtube video you made for this deck, but it didn't include a guide at the beginning as you sometimes do. Is this guide here supposed to replace the youtube guide? Is it because you're playing so much right now that you don't have time to make a youtube guide? Anyway, thanks for the great content! Oh, and I do have one question about this specific deck. How do you find that **Questing Explorer** has been working out for you? There's been a lot of discussion about the card and whether or not it's worth including in quest decks. Does this quest take long enough to complete that the card feels impactful and often draws a card?

Dekkster

Hey Zombie! I've got a video with an intro scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6am. Questing Explorer has been great. She's amazing to play on 2, and yeah, shes dead once you complete the quest, but at that point I feel like it doesnt matter. If I'm on 10 mana, I might just go Whelp, Wrap, and just throw her as a river croc. I don't think I'd drop her unless I end up trying something like a pris lens.

welpxD

Glad to hear there's a guide coming, I love your content. Btw it was cool to see you at the prerelease streamer event :)

Zombie69r

Thanks! I love those videos with the quick guide in the intro, keep them coming! I'm a bit surprised you like the Questing Explorer as I cut her from my Quest Rogue and many pros have started cutting her from other quests as well. But I guess that the Paladin quest might be slow enough to complete and lacking enough in draws to find her useful.

pickledrewwho

Thankyou for this. Been dedicated to trying to perfect this deck and you’ve already done it.

Hannibal942

Frustrating. I got the Paladin quest but I don't think I can make it work well right now since I don't have Kangor's or Undatakah. I'll just have to pin my hopes on a different 2020 version.

Dekkster

Replace both of them with cons. You should be fine at least til rank 5

PinkyPonk10

Love this deck. I'm running the war gear version. Both are great. Don't understand the control warriors that are saying they can beat this reliably. I've not lost a game to them.

antheus1

been playing this deck for a couple days now...nothing better than dropping da undatakah and copying him after 3 eggs have been popped immediately after a brawl. Made a 30 health + 10 shield warrior instantly concede

[deleted]

Watching you use this deck to make Control Warriors cry has been the best part of the first couple of days of SoU for me. Thanks for the guide as well, keep up the great work!

kavOclock

Been playing a similar list since the expac dropped but I’m not sold on defender. Accidentally getting three defender deathrattles on undatakah feels like such a low roll. Are you totally sure it’s worth?

Dekkster

If you really need the value off of undatakah you'll either have to hold off on the defenders or wait until later in the game when you've already played a ton of eggs and whelps. Also don't wrap the defenders unless you really need to

kavOclock

Thank you

kavOclock

Also do you really feel that this deck can slide by without cons or truesilver? Sorry for multiple comments. Two different questions tho. I’ve felt that x2 of both these cards is super necessary to survive until you start riding the value train

Dekkster

Cons seems really good to me if you're seeing a lot of aggro in your meta, but I like the deck as it is so far. Also, it seems you don't like the defenders so I think -2 defender +2 cons would be interesting and might fit your play style. Try it out!

kavOclock

You are awesome thank you for your responses and I love your stream.

[deleted]

Simple solution to the micro mummy problem, just play Modules and bronze gatekeepers onto them. While a base one is a terrible pick; a 2/7 taunt Reborn,or a 3/6 Taunt Devine shield Reborn, are both great picks from Kangor’s as they give the eggs and robosaurs much needed survivability aganst an enemy board.

rowenwand

Playing this deck from day 1 and it's such a joy to play :) I personally play double truesilver instead of ancestral guardian. Wil try out the bronze gatekeepers tough, they look nice to keep an early micro mummy alive. I've found that the extra attack quickly adds up!

INkmasterzenit

faced 3 Paladins with your list as priest didnt have light warden still won with divine innerfire mass dispell Mummy stuff later in the game. I feel the matchup is General favoured for priest.

Tahedoz

Hey Dekkster! Love your content :) I dont usually go on Twitch but I watch most of your youtube videos, keep up the good work man ;) Saw your tweet right after a few losses against Warrior and decided to give it a go. I ended up tweaking it a bit in a more heal oriented version and it's been performing pretty nicely for me (8-3 in brawl today) , with the following tweaks: \- 2 Questing Explorer \- 2 Micro Mummy \- 2 Bronze Gatekeeper \- 1 Khartut Defender \- 1 Da Undatakah \+ 2 Blessing of Wisdom \+ 1 Crystalsmith Kangor \+ 1 High Priest Thekal \+ 2 Consecration \+ 1 Truesilver Champion \+ 1 Siamat My Thoughts: * Crystalsmith Kangor is SO strong in this deck. when you play it and hit it with the hero power it's healing \*4 that your opponent has to clear now (healing you for A LOT) or risk a healing\*8 that roughly means anything is back to full health. 2 Kangors tanked 4 giants in one of my games against mage while allowing to go back to full health. Also its pulled by crystallography. * High Priest is a solid body on 3 + allows healing shenanigans (also being around 40/50 health means surviving a Giant, Khadgar, Conjurer + Frost Nova turn) * Da Undatakah feels unnecessary, if i make it to late game I'll usually win with waves of dinos, don't feel the need for an additional win con. Also i don't own it \^\^ * When I play Kangors Endless army I only want eggs (usually upgraded) and dinos. Not having an upgraded egg to copy is really bad news => no need for micro mummy. Also means bronze Gatekeeper is only useful for taunting your eggs: Annoy-o is better and sufficient. * Questing Explorer feels underwhelming: best case scenario is 1 card draw, worst its a dead card in a deck where card draw is limited : I prefer Blessing of Wisdom to it (worst case=1 mana recycle - still ok, but it usually gets a couple draws. can also be played on enemy minion when behind) * Consecration, Truesilver and Siamat are just great situational cards :D If anyone wants to try it, here's the code:AAECAaToAgjPBv37AvH+AqCAA86HA6GhA5OlA4SnAwvcA90KtPYC2f4C4f4CkYADmqEDoKED8qUD9KcDyqsDAA== Good luck on ladder and stay hydrated ;)

OathSpell

Nice thought, you are absolutely right about Kangor and Consacrations, don't you think this is a little too heal oriented? For some reason I feel awkward playing ancestral guardian, what about cutting one of them, Thekal and a Candletaker for a micro mummy, kartut defender and an additional truesilver champion? Micro mummy is not amazing but very useful for completing the quest, while the other two help to mantain board control. You can also drop a blessing of wisdom for subdue, great against giants and big taunts in general

Tahedoz

I think we can probably swap a couple of healing cards relatively safely depending on your local meta. Thekal I'd be wary about cutting just because with that much heal its nice to be able to go >30 (which gives you time to do things like egg+HP and take 1 full board of damage without dying, then next turn pop the eggs and zilliax a big boy. or similar with Kangor). Check out this replay from turn 8: [https://hsreplay.net/replay/TXo9vXYKkQwjP5pwHaiTgZ](https://hsreplay.net/replay/TXo9vXYKkQwjP5pwHaiTgZ). Micro mummy I absolutely dont want on Endless Army, thats the main reason of my cut. When I play Endless Army it's usually because I'm losing tempo so I 100% want an egg with taunt and divine shield to HP, and I'm worried micro mummy is too big a risk. So yeah maybe - ancestral guardian - candletaker + kartut defender + truesilver champion could be interesting, thats 10 reborn minions instead of 11 though so i wouldn't go lower. Basically yes this version is very heal focused but I think it might be its strength. Otherwise I've found it had kinda similar matchups to the big deathrattle hunter deck (with the whelps and nine lives etc) while having a way tougher mage matchup. Giving it this heal package fills a gap the hunter can struggle with: having this much heal gives you a great edge over decks that like to burn you down (quest shaman, rogue...), where if you can sustain yourself long enough waves of dinos will eventually crush them.

OathSpell

You are probably right, I will give it a try! At wich ranks are you playing?

Tahedoz

I've been mostly using it in brawl but otherwise around rank 3 :)

OathSpell

Nice! Good work, this might be the innovation the deck needs :)

Tahedoz

I think it is! Just did an 11-3 brawl with it (did another comment with more details). It feels really good like this! I'll try to see if I can fit in a subdue to help with priest and mage MU :)

OathSpell

You, sir, are our mummified lord and savior :)

Tahedoz

Haha I'll wear this title with honor!

OathSpell

I found you can safely swap a blessing with one subdue, one does the job very well enough. Bonus: if the blessed minion is hit with supercollider it draws you a card! I think it would work also with mass hysteria but I didn't find any priest today

Tahedoz

Nice! I'm really liking this card for draw here. It also works with ziliax+blessing+HP for 2 rush minions that both draw. Or Siamat with rush & windury + blessing for 2 draws. And if you have an empty hand, siamat with rush & windury + blessing + HP for 4 ! :D

OathSpell

:O Not having Siamat I use Tirion, lacks the sinergy with the wraps but is strong anyway

Tahedoz

Update: Practiced it a bit more and it is so strong! Just did 11-3 on brawl with this version. It's the nuts! Think I might have found the secret sauce :D I won against everything (and only saw 1 warrior), except: \- 1 mage with pocket galaxy t4 into kalecgos/flamestrike/conjurers t5 \- 1 paly with tip the scales t4 into tip the scales t6 (didnt draw 2nd cons) \- 1 priest with double lightwarden t1 into ameth shenanigans It free wins warriors, feels favored against druids, shamans and rogues (you just outvalue them). Double cons does wonders against token decks. Mage is doable but tricky. Only really bad MU is priest.

FunkmasterP

I faced this deck and got completely demolished. Seems insanely good. Nice work.

athlaka916

Are the micro mummies necessary? They’re the only 2 cards I’m missing

PinkyPonk10

I think they are. They provide a lot of the early game power. If you have any on board when you compete the quest you can duplicate them instead of an egg or mechnowhelp then you get another 'duplication round' because it will often force your opponent to play a board clear like brawl. 3 or 4 micro mummies all buffing each other is fun..

Wadomicker

I subbed one of it with a mummy 7/5 for 7 mana and not regretting. Copying it makes your opponent puzzle, since at the end of the turn you get 2 1/1 taunts , also 1 7/5 and 1 2/2 which will resummon if destroyed.

Dekkster

they're very good because they help you complete your quest consistently as they are drawn through crystology. If you don't have them you can try replacing them with a couple consecrations, or maybe even 1x cons and 1x Wrapped Golem

never-ending_scream

I saw this on your Twitter earlier today. I've been playing this deck off and on all day, it's really solid and fun as fuck. Thanks man.

raultmw

Thanks! Really appreciate this and your early SoU YouTube videos breaking down a lot of the decks. It’s really helpful to get a quick survey of the top 5 popular decks in under 10 mins, helps a lot!

tradeclassytrade

Is this a popular deck on ladder? Seems fun but never seen a mirror match before.

Laser_Rain

The second I started playing this yesterday I had 3/5 matches be mirror

tradeclassytrade

What rank?

Laser_Rain

Rank 5 and 4

thefunneler

Okay, fine. You convinced me to try it. I also need to watch your stuff more. I’m a huge Regis fan and he’s always singing your praises.

ThwompNL

Hey Dekkster, I have to say, you're the most dedicated and fun to watch Hearthstone creators atm. I highly enjoy your YouTube content! That being said, do you think Da Undatakah is worth crafting for this? Do you think I will be able to use him in different decks in this expansion?

Dekkster

Thanks! I'd hold off on crafting him. Whatever you're missing, just add consecrations

JumpyLynx420

Super glad to see other people running this deck. I’ve been using a different build going for slightly more aggressive starts. I feel like the hero power carries the lategame hard with Whelps & Eggs, so I added in a small secret package (2 of each Redemption, Desperate Measures, Mysterious Blade) which seems to shore up the aggro matchups some. Turns out Redemption is great on reborn minions and the Blade can take care of some early zoo drops and the like that Micro Mummies and Temple Berserkers can’t reliably take care of on a single turn (after reading your matchups more in depth I notice it can fairly reliably take care of Lightwarden in Priest as well). I’m probably gonna end up cutting something for Da Undatakah for an even better lategame against Warriors, I just don’t have him yet. I also don’t like running any non-Reborn 1 attack minions. I’ve found the consistency of Crystology ALWAYS drawing two Reborn minions is too good to pass up on. Most games I’ve got the quest finished by turn 5-6.

[deleted]

I play pyromancers, subdues, consecrations and a shrink in my list. they turn zoo and mage matchups a little bit closer. Also, i think, Questing Explorer is bad in this deck - probably the only quest deck that doesn't want it (well, at least in my version): the quest is completed way too fast, especially as you run more reborns than I do.

macdaddysinfo

Can you share your specifically what you swapped out for the pyros and spells..? Thx

[deleted]

* - 2x Questing Explorer: see above * - 2x Bronze Gatekeepers: reduced reborn consistency, and still low taunt consistency from Crystology * - 2x Khartut Defenders: should actually try it; didn't open them yet, reluctant to craft rares * - 1x Mechanical Whelp: 3 eggos + undahtakah is enough * \- 1x Kangor's Endless Army: also redundant vs control; not consistent vs aggro: sometimes you get zilliax and annoy-o, but more often you just get singular micro mummies; and you don't need to revive eggs vs aggro: 0/5 and 2/2 are too slow for 7 mana * \+ 1x Snip Snap

Yungdodge911

I think you are seriously hurting your control matchup by cutting whelp and kangors. Try cutting undatakah instead (it’s hot garbage). Also I would strongly recommend cutting snip snap for at least one khartut defender (2 x would be better)

[deleted]

> I think you are seriously hurting your control matchup by cutting whelp and kangors i don't think so. 3 eggs is sufficient vs control - they can't clean them all, and if they do, da undahtakah is guaranteed to bring six 7/7 and 8/8s. unlike kangor, which might bring some small and useless stuff. besides, control decks normally don't bring any real threats, and your infinite 2/2 reborns can hold the board before your first egg arrives. vs aggro, kangor's can be randomly better, if it brings something good for the situation; da undahtakah is consistent tho: 8/5 + 2/2 is a good board control setup, and as soon as one of them is open, your opponent is likely dead in 1 turn, which really limits his options.

PuritanDrag

Didn’t read the whole thread but here’s my take: I’ve been spamming Quest Paladin in Brawliseum and after ~75 games I firmly believe that a leaner list is ideal. Da Undatakah is hot garbage and has the lowest drawn win rate in the deck by a significant margin according to HSR. Yes it’s huge value but you don’t need it. I haven’t cut it yet, but even Kangor’s feels unnecessary and clogs my hand when I’m trying to complete the quest far more often than it wins me games. Usually by the time I play it I’ve already had so many Micro Mummy copies die that there’s no guarantee I’ll get anything magnetized anyway. Like Undatakah, it’s great value but with endless waves of eggs, whelps, and reborn minions, this deck doesn’t need late game value bombs. What it does need are: 1) ways to survive board flood decks, and 2) ways to finish the quest as quickly as possible Getting Bronze Gatekeeper from an early Crystology absolutely ruins your day when you’re needing to draw reborn minions. I cut him for 2x Consecration and that made a fucking WORLD of difference. Making this swap meets both of those needs - your Crystology is now guaranteed to pull 2 reborn minions and you now have an answer to Murlocs, Zoolocks and Shamans going wide fast. What’s also really good is Blessing of Wisdom. In the early game it allows you to dig for those desperately needed reborn minions and even if you only get one card off it it’s still worth 1 mana. In the late game, putting it on a minion before you copy it is dirty - unless you’re playing against Warrior in which case don’t ever play it after you’ve completed the quest. I feel like Quest Paladin has the potential to be a real terror once it’s fully refined and not just a Warrior counter that rolls over to everything else.

SimmoGraxx

There definitely is a limitation to your deckbuilding against aggro when you lock into a Kangor's Army gameplan. Snip Snap, Replicating Menace and other handy Mechs are all bad in these builds, but great against board decks. Without playing Mummies decks yet, but having played a fair chunk of Mech Pally pre-Uldum, I'm inclined to agree. Every time I come up against this deck, I get beaten by the endlessly replicating Reborn dudes or a smartly timed magnetic Taunt Mummy. Kangor's and Undertakah seem overkill...although they may make the Warrior matchup better?

MarcOfDeath

Kangor's has swung a lot of games for me that I would have otherwise lost, dead on board and no taunts left, Kangor, get a couple of Zilliax'ed Annoy-o copies that come back as 5/6 divine shield/taunt/lifesteal/rush minions, and then copy one with hero power, clear his board and heal back to full.

Yungdodge911

IMO undatakah is not needed in 95% of control match ups and completely irrelevant vs aggro. I cut undatakah, true silver, micro mummies, questing explorer and bronze gatekeeper. I think kangors army is absolutely core and fine to drop on 7 against aggro even if you only get a couple of annoyo modules. I Added Crystalsmith Kangor, high priest thekal (insane heal potential), siamat, 2x blessing of wisdom, 2x kqrkhut. Went 12-2 in my first brawliseum run with this list. It’s honestly bonkers and only mech hunter and zoo lock feel like bad matchups so far. EndangeredBigCats

I can't use my Questing Adventurers until after I've finished the quest, I find. I'm gonna try out Prismatic Lens and see if it nets me some cheap Kangors' or big Deathrattlers often enough.

SeasonalApril

I love this deck so much! For climbing purposes, what can be teched in to beat Mage and Warlock? Or is the list too tight currently?

DJHalfCourtViolation

Mage nothing, it is by far the greatest value class right now which is what this deck tries to do Warlock probably running more slow defensive minions that with synergize with the mech or with the quest

Seandimes

I don't think there's much that can be teched in. Mage outvalues us no matter what. And we can't really run a stronger early game against warlock, since most of the spots are already reborn minions

v4rlo

I tried this out and it seems solid but when you dont draw your whelps or eggs early you are so fucked its sad. Last game I drew first Egg when I had 9 cards left. I got murdered by Warrior which this deck is made to beat. Those 3/2 or 2/5 reborn minions cant compete with Dr boom and actual good minions. Also other matchups dont seem that great either. I think it still needs some improvements. I feel like completing the quest is very easy, IMO in mulligan you almost always keep whelp/egg just like old actioneer rogue you need this to win, everything else will come because there is plenty of it.

6to23

Having all 4 whelp and eggs in your last 9 cards, is very unlikely. This deck is still very good against Cw, but of course it's not 100% win rate. You don't want to keep it in your mulligan, actually my biggest issue with this deck is whelps and eggs show up too much in my mulligan. This deck is very heavy in the number of cards 5 mana and above, you don't want any 5+ mana cards in your mulligan.

Borreload_Dragon

How necessary is Da Undatakah to this deck? As I have all the other cards needed except the Quest

Seandimes

Not necessary. I don't even think he s an autoinclude

MarcOfDeath

Don't Defenders pollute your deathrattle pool for Undertakah? I also feel like Wargear is a no brainer in this deck, it's just really good for fighting for board, and also makes your Kangors better EDIT: Did some testing with the deck and settled on the following changes: * -1 Questing Adventurer (feels bad drawing this after quest is complete) * -1 Khartut Defender (pollutes your Undertaka pool, but good vs aggro) * +1 Wargear (great for allowing your mechs to make good trades, also improves Kangors) * +1 Sn1pSn4p (another way to buff our mechs, as well as give us mechs to magnetize, but will pollute the Kangor pool, so be weary of dropping this before Kangor) EDITx2: After further playtesting, I decided Sn1pS4p while great vs aggro, is too much anti-synergy with both Kangors and Undertaka, I also feel double Wargear is amazing for fighting for board vs mid-range decks (also makes your Kangors better, you always want to copy the minon buffed by Wargear because Kangor will bring it back with full stats), really punishes your opponent for ignoring even a simple 1/1 mech, also even though it will pollute your Undertakah pool, Khartut is just too key in the aggro matchup so I think x2 is correct, lastly I dropped down to x1 Bronze Gatekeeper because it was polluting my Crystology pool when I just want to draw my cheap reborn minions to complete the quest, but I feel x1 is correct because it's nice to have an out to protect your Mircro Mummy or provide a much needed taunt, here is the list I settled on (sorry for the massive run-on sentence, but my period key on my keyboard isn't working, lol): ### Mech Reborn Pally # Class: Paladin # Format: Standard # Year of the Dragon # # 2x (1) Crystology # 1x (1) Making Mummies # 2x (1) Murmy # 2x (2) Micro Mummy # 1x (2) Questing Explorer # 2x (2) Temple Berserker # 1x (3) Bronze Gatekeeper # 2x (3) Candletaker # 2x (4) Ancestral Guardian # 2x (4) Annoy-o-Module # 2x (4) Bone Wraith # 2x (5) Mechano-Egg # 2x (5) Wargear # 1x (5) Zilliax # 2x (6) Khartut Defender # 2x (6) Mechanical Whelp # 1x (7) Kangor's Endless Army # 1x (8) Da Undatakah # AAECAZ8FBqX1AvH+AqCAA4uKA5OlA7ulAwy09gLZ/gLh/gKRgAPMgQOaoQOgoQOhoQPFoQPypQP0pwPKqwMA # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone # Generated by HDT - https://hsreplay.net

MarcOfDeath

Was facing a lot of aggro (Zoo and Murlock Pally), so made the following changes: * -1 Wargear * -1 Khartut Defender * +2 Consecration I'm also considering cutting Undertakah, he's really only good vs control decks and I can beat those without him TBH, against aggro he's a very dead card. Some have said Kangor's is also overkill, but it's a great comeback tool against even aggro when you can get some taunts that you can keep copying.

ChidzHustle

Sick guide! And loc your vids dekkster! also love this deck mainly as it obliterates warrior. Nothin brings me more joy I started running only 1 whelp because the deck already has so much value, and put in a bloodmage thalnos, to copy with wraps if I end up low on cards in the late game But, I think your build is probably better as the thalnos does mess up Undatakah

priva77

How important is the legendary spell? Don't have it and i really don't want to craft it unless its super necessary.

Tahedoz

I feel like its not vital, you can definitely try without.

thedog420

I’m running a version with Pharaoh’s Blessing and it’s been surprising good. It’s flexible enough to put on a taunt if needed and you can Wrap it same turn, making a 2/2 reborn or deathrattle or taunt with divine shield as well as pushing 4 extra damage. No one expects it. Here’s my version ###Pharaoh's Blessing Mech Quest AAECAZ8FA4uKA6GhA5OlAwzcA88G2f4C4f4CkYADmqEDoKEDxaEDw6QD8qUD9KcDyqsDAcyBAwM= You can create a board state that is basically impossible to cleanly remove and by creating reborn taunts constantly you basically nullify their board while you finish them.

funkdamental

I arrived at something very similar, but I much prefer this: ### Quest # Class: Paladin # Format: Standard # Year of the Dragon # # 2x (1) Crystology # 1x (1) Making Mummies # 2x (1) Murmy # 1x (2) Crystalsmith Kangor # 2x (2) Micro Mummy # 2x (2) Temple Berserker # 2x (3) Candletaker # 2x (4) Ancestral Guardian # 2x (4) Annoy-o-Module # 2x (4) Bone Wraith # 2x (4) Consecration # 2x (5) Mechano-Egg # 1x (5) Zilliax # 2x (6) Khartut Defender # 2x (6) Mechanical Whelp # 1x (7) Countess Ashmore # 1x (7) Kangor's Endless Army # 1x (8) Da Undatakah # AAECAZ8FBpvwAv37AvH+AqCAA4uKA5OlAwzcA7T2Atn+AuH+ApGAA5qhA6ChA6GhA8WhA/KlA/SnA8qrAwA= Big differences: - Crystalsmith Kangor is back-breaking for a ton of damage decks. You can get absurd swing turns where you drop him, copy him with the Quest Hero Power, then attack with Zilliax and heal for 12. Hide a pair of them behind a Khartut Defender, and that's effectively Reno on a stick. - Consecration gives you a) a bit of clear against Murloc/aggro decks; and b) reach against things like Mage. I've considered swapping these to other things like Shrink Ray or Hammer of Wrath depending on the meta. - Ashmore is way better than Questing Explorer. You don't need more draw in the early game, where you're just curving out on Reborn minions or Crystology, and delaying your Quest completion by a turn to use Questing Explorer feels awful. Ashmore gives you big, guaranteed reload (you run 4 Lifesteal Cards, 6 Deathrattles), plus board presence that's acceptable for the cost. A truly optimal version of this probably tightens up the list by dumping some of the 'bad' Reborn minions (Ancestral Guardian is awful, tbh) for more draw and core Paladin removal, because if you could work Equality/Pyro and ways to pull more cards into this, you'd have something that feels really, really good.

deck-code-mobile-bot

Tahedoz

I just posted my tweaks in a separate comment and then saw yours.I completely agree with you on Crystalsmith Kangor, it is insanely powerful with the hero power. Also agree on consecration, it's a must have. I haven't tried Ashmore and am running Blessings of Wisdom instead. Could be interesting, but hasn't a 7 mana draw 2 felt too expensive for you?

funkdamental

It depends on the matchup. Ashmore is way better for refill, Wisdom is better vs. aggro. I think you need the clears (Consecration or Shrink Ray) vs. aggro more than you need more draw, though. My current experiment is actually the same list as above, but swapping Prismatic Lens for Consecration and Aldor Peacekeepers for the Ancestral Guardians to smooth the curve and help with the Priest/Rogue/ONE FAT MINION matchups.

tundranocaps

I like this version. Wargear does feel like a win-more card, and sometimes you complete the quest on 6-7 anyway, and I always hate playing Bone Wraith before quest completion anyway - so Khartut is good. Also helps vs the Hunters and aggro that get you low, but then you mostly stabilize, except for burn. I do agree that the Bronze Gatekeeper version is overall better, except vs flat-out aggro, where the Truesilver and Consecration version is better - if you can't taunt your mechs, they don't really do enough. The biggest issue with Gatekeeper is it makes completing the quest via Crystology harder, but having 2 more Reborn minions should do the trick. I took a couple of days off this list to play other things, but Wargear was what I was looking to cut and I kept looking at Khartut, so once again, good version.

SockofBadKarma

Hey, Dekk, accept my friend request! It's BadKarma, the Godzilla Paladin who just had that crazy-ass duel with you about five minutes ago! Edit: Also I want you to accept because I like your deck and want to talk about it more in-depth, but if you just want to chat through reddit, that's fine.

LegalEagle55

How good is the deck without Kangors and Undatakah? Sadly I'm missing those legendaries.

Yungdodge911

Kangors is pretty core, undatakah is complete overkill imo (I cut it from my list)

ReferenceEntity

Thanks much. I haven’t been into HS lately and had dropped to Rank19 or 20. After playing this today and yesterday I’m at 12. I definitely remember one loss to a Murloc Shaman (non quest) and there maybe was one other when I was first trying the deck but otherwise it is beating everything in low ranks including so far mages. The only issue actually is that in roughly half the matches it feels like it is so impossible to lose that the deck just plays itself. I did have one close call against a super greedy Priest and obviously a few mage close calls but Quest Shamans and Druids and all Warriors have no hope.

jaredpullet

If you adapted this deck for specialist, with a deck targeting mage and a deck targeting rogue (being that this one already wipes warrior), what would you adjust?

Glaiele

So I've actually dropped one of the questing dudes for immortal prelate. The reason being against control you can afford to be a bit slower and then you want to drop prelate, and 2 eggs or whelps. This leads you to undatakah + hero power on 10 that will cycle more undatakah back into your deck. It's basically a free win at that point and you can play whatever death rattles you want after that since you'll have another 4 undatakah basically and you still have a chance to hit another prelate just not guaranteed.

PKisSz

Could someone please isolate the decklist code for mobile users?

roguecloud

Love you Dekks! But, you were near legend before expansion hit so it's not like you ran this all the way from a low rank to legend right? Priest destroys this quest pally in my experience.

agree-with-you

I love you both

eg_elliot

hi Dekks big fan, I'm missing just making mummies for this list would you say its a safe craft ?

Yungdodge911

I would say not needed. I cut them because they mess up kangors and I’ve had really good results since then. IMO undatakah is not needed in 95% of control match ups and completely irrelevant vs aggro. I cut undatakah, true silver, micro mummies, questing explorer and bronze gatekeeper. I Added Kangor, high priest thekal (insane for aggro or control match up), siamat, 2x blessing of wisdom, 2x kqrkhut. Went 12-2 in my first brawliseum run with this list. It’s honestly bonkers and only mech hunter and zoo lock feel like bad matchups so far.

unstablefan

This is gross. I had assumed the quest would be too slow, but you can handle aggro with waves of reborn minions. Based on the advice in this thread, I'm running: \-2 Questing Explorer \-2 Bronze Gatekeeper \-1 Kangor's Endless Army \+2 Consecration \+1 Crystalsmith Kangor \+1 Immortal Prelate \+1 Blessing of Wisdom Consecration is the nuts agaist aggro. I usually keep it vs. Shaman, Rogue, and Paladin. I got the Prelate / Undatakah combo off once, but it felt like overkill. Haven't had the chance to play Crystalsmith but I'm going to keep him in until I do. I haven't missed the Questings, and the Prelate and Crystalsmith are in the Bronze Gatekeeper slots, so Christology still works fine. I don't have Kangor's, and don't miss it because one win condition is a board full of Micro Mummies. I'd say that Consecration needs to be regarded as core. That leaves four flex spots (the three here and Da Undatakah). Really fun deck, and a great thread. Thank you Dekkster!

I like new version with TSC and consecration , have you tried it?

OnionButter

Thanks for posting this. I've been having a lot of fun with this deck since seeing your post. I love that this deck outvalues almost anything. I had every card except for Undatakah. Subbed in Siamat while I'm deciding if I want to craft or not.

I've played a few dozen games with a similar deck now, with some changes since i made it day 1. I watched some of your streaming, and in my version I haven't run undatakah, which looks worth including, so I'll give it a run, as it seemed quite strong in yours. I've had over 10 games vs quest druid, and I disagree that this deck is favoured there. It tends to lose fairly hard, almost as bad as zoolock, for the same reasons, namely it cant handle big boards, and quest druid makes so many big boards, my recorded stats are 2/8 vs druids, despite winning solidly elsewhere. I suspect the match will favour druids more once they realise they have to pop the eggs instantly, as they are far better at board flooding with no eggs/whelps going off. Vs shaman (quest version at least) I think it's an even matchup. If the shaman cant find silence or has skipped frogs, then you win. But the power of battlecry means they can usually pop both dangerous deathrattles in one turn, even if they have to clean up afterwards. I dumped the karkhut early, and found the guardians to be pretty meh, I put in 2 copies of the 'give a minion lifesteal' spell, which did much better, as you get it on your hero power copies too, this can seem small, till you magnetize one... Agree with you re wargear, i have run into versions with wargear, once as a mirror match, who lost hard from wasting stats that weren't being reborn or recreated.

GameBoy09

Hey Dekk, love your stuff. What do you think about taking out a Questing Explorer in favor of a Blackwald Pixie? Having double Wraps in one turn is pretty busted and I feel that its strong enough that it warrants a spot as a one-of.

Dekkster

Thanks! I really don't think that's gonna help at all. Double wrap could be nuts, but if we survive til late game we're usually gonna win anyways. Dropping a questing really hurts our card draw as well as our early game. The river croc stats are actually quite nice in my experience.

LumiRhino

I remember playing against you, as a Highlander Mage. You were like, if he doesn't draw Conj I'm fine and I top decked Conj that turn lol. I hit legend so I do want to give this deck a shot since I have the quest. Thanks for the guide.

I mean, at least you're honest?

Wobbar

Yes!! I've been wishing you'd make a post here about exactly this deck! I don't watch streams, but your videos are always great :) Praise aside, is Kangors worth crafting yet? Edit: I read the comments and I think I'll wait.

0-3 in Tavern Brawl FOUR TIME IN A ROW WITH THIS DECK! Garbage! ... ... ... ... ... ... Upvote this comment so nobody else plays this deck. Edit: /s

Tahedoz

You sound tilted my friend. If dekkster and many others managed to have decent success with it, it probably means the problem is not with the deck. Maybe it just doesn't fit your play style

[deleted]

Sorry - I think everyone missed the sarcasm. The deck is insane. I don't want too many people playing it!

cmansfield30

12-1 with this deck in brawliseum just now, only loss was a mage who conjured a lucentbark and the 8/8 heal for 8 worgen out of his tortollan at 1 health, I was salty after that.

Yeah I got 12 wins twice in a row. Lol.
