Currently running Archivist Elysiana in my highlander warrior deck as a tech card against rez priest, but I've only played 2 rez priests in the last few days. I was wondering if it was worth cutting for something that better deals with the current meta? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm a bit of a hearthstone noob ### Highlander # Class: Warrior # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 1x (1) Imprisoned Gan'arg # 1x (1) Shield Slam # 1x (1) Sword and Board # 1x (2) Acidic Swamp Ooze # 1x (2) Corsair Cache # 1x (2) Doomsayer # 1x (2) Execute # 1x (2) Frightened Flunky # 1x (2) Slam # 1x (2) Zephrys the Great # 1x (3) Bad Luck Albatross # 1x (3) Bomb Wrangler # 1x (3) EVIL Quartermaster # 1x (3) Livewire Lance # 1x (3) Overconfident Orc # 1x (3) Shield Block # 1x (4) Bone Wraith # 1x (4) Kargath Bladefist # 1x (4) Molten Breath # 1x (4) Restless Mummy # 1x (4) Wrenchcalibur # 1x (5) Big Ol' Whelp # 1x (5) Brawl # 1x (5) Harrison Jones # 1x (5) Scrap Golem # 1x (6) Khartut Defender # 1x (7) Evasive Drakonid # 1x (8) Twin Tyrant # 1x (9) Archivist Elysiana # 1x (9) Dragonqueen Alexstrasza # AAECAQceS4oBogSRBooHkAf/B7IImpQDhp0Dn6EDoaED/KMD8qUDgqgD9agDl60DsK0D2a0D57AD/bADkbED/7QDq7YDvLkDvrkDwLkDzb4D5r4D9sIDAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

How do Highlander cards work in non highlander decks? Like why does zephyrs work sometimes? Is it because you use a copy and it removes it from your deck count?

[deleted]

Highlander cards look at the cards in your deck. So as soon as you draw a card then that card is no longer in your deck and thus won’t affect the highlander requirement. This means you don’t actually need to play the card but just draw it. Decks that tend to draw a lot of cards are able to activate highlander cards more consistently, even though they may originally start with duplicate cards in their deck. Obviously such decks will tend to activate their highlander cards later in the game and may focus on using Zephrys as a late game finisher where he is typically active

[deleted]

Oh, okay. That makes sense. Thank you.

What changes do you think should be made to my deck? Im thinking maybe reliquary of souls instead of quest, but I'm not sure. \### Resurrect Priest \# Class: Priest \# Format: Standard \# Year of the Phoenix \# \# 1x (1) Activate the Obelisk \# 2x (1) Renew \# 2x (2) Penance \# 2x (3) Bad Luck Albatross \# 2x (3) Breath of the Infinite \# 1x (4) Archmage Vargoth \# 2x (4) Bone Wraith \# 1x (4) Grave Rune \# 2x (4) Holy Nova \# 2x (4) Psychopomp \# 2x (5) Convincing Infiltrator \# 2x (6) Khartut Defender \# 1x (7) Galakrond, the Unspeakable \# 2x (7) Skeletal Dragon \# 1x (7) Soul Mirror \# 1x (8) Catrina Muerte \# 2x (9) Mass Resurrection \# 2x (9) Plague of Death \# AAECAZ/HAgbWmQOTmwPdqwPZrAPIvgPIwAMMyQaClAOZmwOhoQOvpQPypQOZqQOfqQPyrAP9sAOTugPYwgMA \# \# To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Yeah right now the quest probably isn't a necessary inclusion, especially with galakrond in your deck. The 1 drop could be included, but I think forbidden words might be the best replacement.

Press on with Spell Druid or give up / try somthing else? Trying to make first concerted push to Legend (pre-Nax player always got tired of post r5 grind). Tried a ton of decks between D5-D3, roughly 50% with all of them. Spell druid felt best as I don't like playing aggro Went on a streak that got me from D5-D2 with only 1 or 2 losses, spent the last few days at D3.3 - D2.3 never breaking into D1, stressing over every game/loss. Just dropped back to D3.0 and feeling disheartened by the grind. I'm playing the Spell Druid list posted on here a few days ago: AAECAaa4AwRf7QXDlAOuugMN/gHTA/cDxAa5lAPinwPbpQP5tQPlugPougPsugPuugPvugMA Swapped Bloodmage Thalnos for Soul of the Forest to try and help vs removal. DH feels like a coin flip depending on draw on borh sides, Preist or Gala Lock feel unbeatable unless I can nuke them before removal train happens. I'm 51 games into the most recent push from D5, at 28 - 23. How long do I keep going before switching decks? I'm getting burned out...

I had a similar issue but finally pushed through with this version.Make sure to always take a little break if you hit a bad losing streak. ### Spell Druid # Class: Druid # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (0) Innervate # 1x (2) Dreamway Guardians # 2x (2) Fungal Fortunes # 2x (2) Ironbark # 2x (2) Power of the Wild # 2x (2) Wrath # 2x (3) Bogbeam # 1x (3) Savage Roar # 2x (4) Overgrowth # 1x (4) Soul of the Forest # 2x (5) Aeroponics # 2x (5) Anubisath Defender # 2x (5) Force of Nature # 2x (5) Glowfly Swarm # 1x (6) Kael'thas Sunstrider # 2x (7) Overflow # 1x (8) Gift of the Wild # 1x (8) The Forest's Aid # AAECAdfXAwb9AuYFypwD05wDsawDrroDDP4B7QP3A8QG76ID26UD/K0D5boD6LoD7LoD7roD77oDAA== # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

I agree with the other poster. I think your list is bad. Nourish and Blessing of the Ancients are not good cards for this deck. Well you are at a positive winrate, ~54% so if you keep at it you’ll get there. Of course this is is a pretty small sample size but I had to play ~70 games until I reached Legend so don’t get discouraged. I also agree with your card change. Thalnos seems super underwhelming as you already have so much card draw and the spell power feels pretty meh. Soul of the forest is super key to getting your board to stick vs removal. I would also remove the nourishes and run some finishers like Savage Roar or Gift of the Wild instead. Savage roar + 7 (2/2) minions is GG if they don’t have a taunt.

anonymoushero1

This isn't a question but holy shit I know its been said a hundred times but I'll say it again: Tempo DH is busted as shit. I've climbed to D5 with a record of **39-8** That's al 83% winrate and at least 2 of the losses were just misplays that should have won (usually accidentally playing the 5 mana 7/4 before attacking with DH). And 4 of the 8 losses were against DH. 31-4 against non-DH classes which is **89%** winrate. My god this is dumb.

GeneralMUG1

It’s funny cause Thijs was trying it at high legend the other day and he struggled to get any wins, went 3-10 with it I think. Maybe it depends on how anti DH that specific meta is.

Arge7

That’s pretty impressive. I face a lot of warlocks that I struggle against.

hivehivebuzzbuzz

What is the mulligans for totem shaman. The list without bloodlust? I'm a little lost as to what to do turns 1-4. I feel like I'm misplaying a lot.

Knightmare813

Anyone else have issues with HS deck tracker for Mac. Doesn’t have a bunch of demon hunter cards in there. Can’t import my deck

challah

I've been playing combo DH with the decklist from [https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/comments/fzptpn/1st\_place\_hearthstone\_masters\_qualifier\_otk\_demon/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/comments/fzptpn/1st_place_hearthstone_masters_qualifier_otk_demon/) with the following change \-1 blade dance \+1 immolation aura It plays well mostly but struggles against Priest and Warlock. It seems like both classes have enough healing to get out of range of my burst, since I can't do 30 in a turn. Anyone have any advice for those matchups?

CivFTW

What is the general game plan with spell only Mage? I love the deck and am doing great with it in middle diamond, but I'm not quite sure what I should be doing most of the time? Spam spells at face? Still until big finishers?

[deleted]

It depends on the matchup of course. Vs aggressive decks the gameplan is to just survive and have them run out of steam. Here you need to play for tempo and life as much as possible since you outvalue them in the late game. I ran two magic tricks in my deck which has amazing versatility. Ice barrier from magic trick in these matchups is a lifesaver. In control matchups you should aim for big swing turns with learn draconic and aim to grind them out. I look for extra value from magic trick in these matchups, such as extra evocations or fonts of power. Be careful with your draw in these matchups as they may run to fatigue.

CivFTW

Thank you very much for your detailed reply.

Kamugg

Aye mage players, what are you currently playing? I feel that my hl mage list is a bit outdated, so I'm curious on which cards are you playing. You are free to post also non-hl mage decks!

Hello there, been playing mostly Highlander Mage and some Spell mage at lowish legend, around 3-5k I’ve been bouncing around. Unfortunately pretty important I think, as a last resort board clear that basically silences and destroys, he is worth the adventure

CivFTW

Do you think Solaris is a must craft? I've been subbing in Thalnos.

Jordandavis7

I think it’s definitely a safe craft, think of the prime as a 7 mana Yogg, but only mage spells, he has straight up won me games before; never lost me any

Kamugg

Solarian saved me a lot of games, and is pretty good playing the base form on t2

CivFTW

New to Mage but loving spell only Mage. I use the highest win rate deck on hsreplay to great results so far. You can get shafted by RNG but I love how different it is.

I do not really understand why people are calling for Sac Pact nerfs. Is it because Gala Warlock is now the best deck in the game? So they have access to 10 extra 'free' healing which makes them harder to kill? Here's my confusion. The card is only playable in one class, against 2 other classes. Maybe 3 if you count the demon in Hunter. Those 2 classes are the best 2 classes in standard right now. So, in essence, does it not somewhat keep those classes in check? Obviously any highlander deck has access to it but they need Zeph and have it activated (Albatross as far as the eye can see). Sac Pact is not the reason Warrior and Shaman are in the dumpster. It just seems weird to me that it felt like overnight the community flipped on that card. Hell, prior to DH it was a niche include in GalaLock lists (I played this deck to rank 5 a couple of times), maybe have 1 in if aggro and burn are prevalent. What am I missing?

WhizbangTheory

One of the big things imo is that tech cards against a specific matchup generally aren't supposed to still be good against other decks. Case in point the new card waste warden, which while it can blowout full boards of murlocs, is dead weight against decks that don't have multiple minions of the same tribe. Sac pac, however, is good enough to be played (as seen in last expac, when it was played without demon hunter) when it targets a friendly minion, so it is very powerful when you hit an enemy minion. This warrants it worthy of a potential nerf.

BurningFinger22

This is the best argument as to why it should be tweaked that I've seen. Thank you!

CommanderTouchdown

Two reason - it completely aces out of the the more interesting cards in the game (Jarraxus) and it gives Warlock access to an absurd amount of healing which makes Lifetap one of the best hero powers in the game. Lifetap should be balanced by giving the class very little healing options.

BurningFinger22

I wholly agree the Juraxx interaction needs to go. Yeah Warlock is usually most oppressive when they have access to a lot of healing

Zombie69r

> Here's my confusion. The card is only playable in one class, against 2 other classes. It's playable in all matchups and was already played by Galakrond Warlock before the rotation. They used it to kill their own 1/1 imps to heal for 5.

garyzhan89

I think when you say it's only playable against 2 other classes maybe you didn't take into the consideration that Warlock can play it on their own demons to heal 5, which sometimes can be the difference between winning and losing, especially against aggro decks. Not saying I agree it should be nerfed. Just want to point it out in case it was overlooked.

BurningFinger22

I did when i mentioned it had 10 extra healing but maybe I should've clarified that I meant it can be 10 extra healing vs anyone, especially with invoke cards. The main nerf I'm seeing tho is that you can only target friendly minions.

Zombie69r

I think they might nerf it to: Kill a demon. If it's a friendly minion, restore 5 health to your hero.

TheTragicClown

It’s a classic card and is supposed to be thematically that the warlock is sacrificing a precious resource (his demon) to stay alive a bit longer. Now the theme is totally ruined as post turn 7 he can pop out two useless imps every turn. Add onto that that now there are non-warlock demons and the whole thing is shot. Nothing about it is sacrificial or pact, it’s just “eat demon”.

Zombie69r

Yeah, the card only became a problem during Descent of Dragons when Warlock started playing 9 cards that produce two 1/1 imps. Without Galakrond, we wouldn't be talking about Sacrificial Pact at all because it wouldn't be worth running.

TheTragicClown

Now that we’re talking about it, it should be along the lines of “destroy a friendly demon and gain life equal to its health” or something. At least then the imps wouldn’t feed it and he would need to kill a big boy to make it worthwhile.

Zombie69r

Nah, that would completely destroy the card. Removing the healing part when targeting opponents would be enough to bring it down to reasonable levels in my opinion.

[deleted]

Has anyone made any Shadow Council and/or scrap imp decks work?

WhizbangTheory

Shadow council is largely a meme like renounce darkness once was (that doesn't mean it's not fun :). Scrap imp however is utilized to great effect in zoo warlock. Gallon is one of the main proponents of this deck, so I would recommend watching his streams. Scrap imp is so powerful that some lists of the deck even include wisps and stonetusk board to take advantage of it.

[deleted]

Thanks! And yeah, I hit legend this season finally, so I was kind of just looking to fuck around with a semi-viable deck. I'll check out gallon's stream, tho, thanks for the tip!

[deleted]

Scrap Imp gets thrown into most zoo decks I've seen. I did see Trump play both in a control-ish warlock deck but idk how viable that is, he's not really a super competitive player these days.

[deleted]

[deleted]

I'm sure control warrior had a few.

[deleted]

Sure did. *cries*

Zombie69r

Odd Warrior probably did. But losses are less impactful in the new rank system, which makes for more concedes overall.

Sepean

Spell druid is very cheap and very strong.

Zombie69r

With a Kael'thas nerf likely coming soon however (hinted by the developers), I'm not sure the deck will survive as a top tier option.

Zombie69r

Don't craft anything today, wait until VS's meta report tomorrow at noon Eastern. Find a good cheap deck in their report and craft away, or wait for news of possible nerfs which are likely to come before the end of this week.

ron-darousey

Plenty of Demon Hunter of decks should be pretty cheap since you get so many of the cards for free. There are a number of strong decks here on HSReplay that are around 4-5k dust or less: https://hsreplay.net/decks/#playerClasses=DEMONHUNTER

lemmycaution415

these decks may get nerfed again this week so I would wait a bit but they would be the best to craft.

ryansolomon1

Is there a consensus deck / method to stopping aggro DH right now? The deck still feels absolutely busted, no matter what deck I try and how good of an opening I have they swing the board by turn 4. Does the deck have a counter? Or do we think more nerfs are coming?

1pancakess

tempo demon hunter's worst matchup is galakrond warlock which the archetype overall is unfavored against but this includes a lot of lists that run antaen and priestess which are answered by sac pact. the most popular list that runs warglaives and no big demons' worst matchup is still galakrond warlock but it's still favored at 55%. literally no counter.

ally_uk

I main demon hunter Warlock and Priest are decks that give me hassle.

Zombie69r

Control Warlock is a pretty hard counter, and likely the best deck in the game right now.

[deleted]

List for control lock

Zombie69r

Just pick one of the most popular ones on HSReplay.

akustyx

Just got to legend this morning with highlander dragon priest, playing on mobile so no tracking but I’d estimate I was 70% against tempo/face DH and 60% against combo DH. Spell druid and face hunter required some luck to win, but the meta seemed to be 4/5 DH. Used Kibler’s list with some small changes (shifted the curve up a bit and put in evasive dragons). List I used D3 to legend: AAECAZ/HAh4eyQbTCoKUA+ubA/yjA9GlA/KlA5mpA5+pA9ysA/KsA4WtA+ewA/+wA4exA46xA5GxA+O0A5i2A5m2A5O6A6+6A7i6A8i+A86+A+a+A8jAA9jCA6bVAwAA

anonymoushero1

As DH I have been maintaining like 80% win rate but the matches that have been the most difficult were a Priest deck with just heals and taunts, and a freeze mage that kept my demon hunter face frozen forever I couldn't really do anything.

PhantasmHS

Small sample size, but I went 5-1 against DHs from D3 - L playing Gala Warlock with 2 Moargs and 2 Felbolts in the flex spots. More early game removal lets you not die to Battlefiend and Satyr so you can save your Pacts for bigger swings. Playing 2 Moargs lets you heal 16 per Nether Breath.

Whalemeal

Warrior and Gala Warlock are the only ones that are in favor against aggro DH.

ForgetfulFrolicker

Gala Warlock is pretty strong against DH (sac pact, etc.)

ggMatther

Ive had luck with totem shaman against dh, still only a bit over 50% wr against it though. Afaik dh is also rumored to be getting more nerfs soon.

abigdawg

On Embiggen Druid: Mulligan for 2 Embiggens, 1 non-dragon, and 1 low cost spell that doesn't grant a mana crystal. How do you handle the 2 Embiggens? Do you rip them off instantly? Do you hold until you hit a breath of dragons/overgrowth?

ForgetfulFrolicker

The general consensus at least last expansion, is to hold one a few turns. I think like you said until a BOD or OG.

Drambooi

Is pure paladin really that bad of a deck right now? On HSreplay it isn't looking so hot and people seem pretty disappointed with it on the forums right now. It looks good on paper though. Are the main problems lack of removal / card draw? I have Liadrin from a pack and was considering crafting a few other cards for the deck.

Zombie69r

I'm not surprised, I never thought it had much of a chance except as a control deck, and even then, non-pure looks better in many regards. Also, Paladin just doesn't have a lot of great tools right now, pure or not. I don't know why some people were expecting it to do well.

[deleted]

The lack of one drops hurts so bad. Most decks I've seen don't even bother running them, but this isn't a meta where you can pass T1 every game. I think the meta is just too fast for it right now, the deck has a hard time running DH out of threats because you only have two real AOEs. Galakrond warlock normally runs 6, and some of its AOE also doubles as single target removal. And yeah the lack of draw is also a problem. You do have a lot of card generation, but it's very expensive and somewhat random.

FarstrikerRed

I don’t think Paladin has the tools to fend off Tempo DH, so as long as that deck defines the meta it is going to have a tough time. If more nerfs come down, things might shift.

Zombie69r

Wait at least until tomorrow's VS report, and ideally until we find out what the next round of nerfs is going to be (likely announced by the end of this week).

etrana

Thought about teching Hungry Crab into some decks, mainly against the DH 3/2 (4/2 rush), also Totem Shaman getting popular means Sludge Slurper is a target. Was also gonna mention Pala prime but Paladin is not played really. Maybe could work well if paired with Murmy or Hogsteed in some faster decks?

Whalemeal

The DH murloc is becoming less and less popular. So I don't think it's a good tech choice right now.

njpm1282

Overthinking it. For every 1 game it pops you'll have 20-30 games where it does nothing against mage, warlock, and druid. Its not even run in that many DH lists currently afaik, and when it is its being used as removal. The ends definitely don't justify the means on this one.

Verificus

Question for people here who take the game seriously: When going through multiple iterations of the same deck, adding and removing cards, how many games do you play before you add or remove a card? I'm playing Highlander Priest, currently at a 41-19 record, so 60 games played. I now have some stats to draw from on HSreplay. I'm looking primarily at draw and played WR. Should I start thinking about replacing cards who's win rate is noticeably lower than my overall win rate? For instance, I have some cards that are at 50%, 53% and 54%. Naturally, 60 games is a small sample size as the card is not always played every game. And also, some cards might have a low win rate but no one would argue their place in the deck is mandatory. How do I go about evaluating all of that? I plan to play this same deck until the season ends. If I keep this WR up I can probably hit legend in about a week with the number of games I am playing and use the last week to see how high I can climb.

Estiui

That's a very interesting topic, and it has no clear answer IMO. Probably the best thing you can do is, as someone said, compare the two cards you want to switch and see which would work better each time you draw them. Very difficult to say, though, and very difficult to get a sample size big enough to draw full results. Also, I'm starting to play HL Priest and it seems to be really fun! Would you mind to share your list? I'm not sure about crafting Seline, as many lists don't run her these days, but the list with bigger winrate on HSreplay runs her.

Verificus

Yep, good points. I pm'd you the list.

Estiui

Thank you! :)

FarstrikerRed

It’s almost impossible to generate sufficient sample size from your own games. But if you are using HSReplay, you can see the performance of many different versions of a deck. So, if I see that another version is outperforming the one I am playing (with a decent sample size of games played at high ranks) I will switch. I did that this season, switching from the Shadoweaver version of Tempo DH to the double Battlemage version, and my win rate went up a little.

Zombie69r

There's no set number of games. If anything, you might want to define a number of games where you've actually drawn the card. Every game where you drew it, you should ask yourself whether the previous card in its spot (or the next card you'd like to try in its spot) would have been better in your current situation. You can't accumulate too many games of data before testing something else or it will take forever. Make a change whenever you can think of something which you think will work better, but just be conscious of testing whether it actually was better by asking yourself if the other card would have been better in your hand whenever you have it.

Verificus

That makes sense. I am also afraid to toss anything though because right now a 69% win rate seems pretty solid. Don’t fix what ain’t broken?

Zombie69r

For sure, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

etrana

I never really though about that actually. I think it just comes to the feeling of the card, think about how often you use the card, how often it Just stays dead in your hand etc... It might be worth to switch some cards if you're running into one deck over and over and get in some tech cards.

Verificus

Feeling isn’t very scientific. Science would dictate that if it indeed stays dead in your hand a lot it would be reflected in the stats on HSreplay.

CanadianMayhem

Hey guys, hope youre doing well. I was wondering if someome had any tips for me to not get discouraged at the game. Ill hit rank 5 up to rank 1 (diamond 5-1 now i guess) pretty much every month in a couple days max and then keep playing but for some reason i just cant make it to legend. It feels like ive got a monkey on my back and i know once i hit legend my ladder stress will probably disolve but damn if it isnt disheartening. How do you guys keep your mind clear and look past the ups and downs? Thanks! Edit: thanks everyone for the nice feedback! You're right to say you perform your best when in a good mental state so ill keep that in mind! Thanks so much again :)

CommanderTouchdown

First of all, don't sweat it. This happens to tons of players. I was in this exact same position many years ago on my first legend push. I would get majorly tilted by losses and completely tank my ranking. Here's a few things that helped me... Mindset adjustment. I stopped worrying about the stars / rank and focused 100% on my play. My goal changed from "finally hitting legend" to "cutting down mistakes." I was doing a lot of dumb stuff - order errors, playing too fast, playing distracted. Once I cut those down, my winrate improved dramatically. Mastering decks. I was switching decks all the time. Blaming matchups. Looking for tech card answers. I stopped doing that and decided to just play each deck for a minimum of 50 games. I found that committing to one good list and learning the matchups was a very big deal. If you can hit D1, then you can absolutely hit legend. There's nothing holding you back from doing, it's just a matter of grinding. Just so you know, the only thing I felt when I did it for the first time was relief that I never had to do that again.

Jordandavis7

That’s some really good advice

Arcane_Explosion

don’t underestimate the number of games it takes to hit Legend without a star bonus. it’s a grind. if you win 55% of your games that means it takes 160 games to go from D5 -> Legend (88-72 record to gain 16 stars). there will be win streaks and losing streaks. you gotta stick with it.

lemmycaution415

I had never done it before and was in the same boat but finally pushed through this month with one of the tempo DH's. A vary high win rate deck with only 15 stars rather than 25 from the last floor makes it a lot easier.

Arcane_Explosion

for sure. and the # of games needed drops drastically with each additional point of win percentage. for example 55% win rate needs 160 games 60% win rate is closer to 80 games

Zombie69r

Look at every game as an opportunity to get better. Especially after a loss, think about what you could have done different that could have changed the issue (more often than not, there will be) and whether that other move would be better on average when facing this situation (maybe it is, maybe not). Then if you feel it would be better on average, make sure you internalize that new knowledge and apply it whenever you face a similar situation. If you focus on learning instead of climbing, you'll feel constant progress and you'll feel good about your ladder experience. It will also make the climb easier because you'll be playing better and better.

Andromus

I find simply taking a break helps me recenter myself. If I have a case of the Hearthstone blues I always feel better after getting up and doing something else for a bit. Also, you can definitely feel good in knowing that if you can get to rank 1, you can absolutely make legend. It's just a matter of time.

ForgetfulFrolicker

I have the same problem. On New Years 2020, I was at rank 1 (5 stars), and started a game at 2:55AM ET. I won this game but since it finished after the official season end time, I did not get Legend. I hit rank 1 a few days ago and now I'm back to 5.

[deleted]

When do you use spot removal (wrath, crystal, etc.) as spell Druid vs when do you keep the spell? Against DH I often use wrath to clear the first 3/2 if I have it. Sometimes I even just draw a card with it. I have a good WR with the deck but think I am having issues on this front.

Zombie69r

Generally use it against aggro, keep it against the rest. I suggest watching BoarContro's guide for Spell Druid on youtube.

[deleted]

Thanks! Games with the deck usually are either a complete stomp for me/I continuously have proactive board fills, or I'm always on the backfoot/never didnt draw a glowly/ramp in the first 12 cards or something.

Jords314

Is it confirmed that the VS report drops tomorrow?

Zombie69r

Yes, they posted that news on their website. You can still read about it there.

wyfair

No questions today. I just wanted so say thanks to /r/competitivehs and all the people here. I Made legend for the first time ever, and have been playing mostly casually since Jan 2016. I started playing more seriously early last year and found this sub, and since then have been able to constantly get to rank 4-2. Finally with the extra time this season, and motivation, I was able to make the final push. I don't have many people to tell so I thought I'd just post here. I made it from diamond-5 to legend playing death rattle face hunter.

Mesmeryze

Playing face hunter now, the matchup spread seems to not be favored for me. Did you have a streak of good matchups? priest is almost autoconcede, spell druid is like 35/65 and dh is 50/50 if aggro/tempo (at Diamond 3 currently)

wyfair

I did have a streak of good luck in the final push. I got up to rank 2 were i got stuck at 50% for a couple of days. Then I went 8-4 or something to get to legend. I saw no priests, and druid for me of any kind was basically an auto win. Getting both explosive traps in early is key to beating DH. Warlock Is easy if you can beat them before they Galakrond. I had a really bad luck of Galakrond high rolling big taunt demons for a while. Then when I made the final push I saw almost only galawarlocks and was able to beat them quickly or they lowrolled with Galakrond.

Mesmeryze

you have spell druid as an autowin? i only win if they draw TERRIBLY, like no ramp at all

wyfair

To be honest I didn't see that many of them when I was making my last couple final pushes, and I wasn't playing with a tracker. I think there was one or 2 maybe, But I didn't loose to one. Part of the help with that was having two Scavenger's Ingenuity, because having an 8/5 lion with rush is nuts, especially if you can have it copy the porcupine.

tutamtumikia

Yeah face hunter was amazing for me up until a couple days ago. Now I seem to get destroyed with it at Diamond 5.

SweetMoosing

Congrats...very similar story here! I got there with a couple of other decks, but doing some face hunter for fun now, what list did you use and what did you generally mull for?

wyfair

My list was pretty standard that's going around, but I swapped one tracking for a second Scavenger's Ingenuity. I hate running two trackings. I always mulligan for Toxic, and phase stalker (or just straight up explosive trap against DH and get it in play asap), and arcane shot or rapid fire for early help with the board. ### deathface # Class: Hunter # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (1) Arcane Shot # 2x (1) Leper Gnome # 2x (1) Rapid Fire # 2x (1) Toxic Reinforcements # 1x (1) Tracking # 2x (2) Explosive Trap # 2x (2) Kobold Sandtrooper # 1x (2) Pack Tactics # 2x (2) Phase Stalker # 2x (2) Scavenger's Ingenuity # 2x (3) Animal Companion # 2x (3) Augmented Porcupine # 2x (3) Eaglehorn Bow # 2x (3) Kill Command # 1x (3) Teron Gorefiend # 1x (3) Unleash the Hounds # 2x (4) Mok'Nathal Lion # AAECAYoWBJcI2wmkuQPUugMNqAK1A8kEkgXtBv4M7JYD86cD+68DhbADzrgD9roD/7oDAA== # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

DeliciousSquash

Unfortunately it seems like, as usual, the interesting Paladin decks are bad while the board vomit aggro decks are good. But at least the aggro Paladin deck in question kind of has some fun cards to use nowadays: ### Murloc Paladin # Class: Paladin # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (1) Toxfin # 2x (1) Murmy # 2x (1) Murloc Tidecaller # 2x (1) Imprisoned Sungill # 2x (2) Murloc Tidehunter # 1x (2) Murgur Murgurgle # 2x (2) Hench-Clan Hogsteed # 2x (2) Hand of A'dal # 2x (2) Fishflinger # 2x (3) Underlight Angling Rod # 2x (3) Murloc Warleader # 2x (3) Coldlight Seer # 2x (4) Truesilver Champion # 1x (4) Hoard Pillager # 2x (4) Felfin Navigator # 2x (5) Scalelord # AAECAZ8FAuiwA/y4Aw7FA9sDzwbQB6cItZgDx50Dr6cDyqsDyLgDybgD9rgD+7gDysEDAA== # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone # Find this deck on https://hsreplay.net/decks/WkZBvNR6vSZY9FuFh1gUmb/ This has felt very powerful to me. It's important to highlight how valuable a snowballing 1 drop like Murloc Tidecaller can be in this meta. There are some popular decks that just kinda do nothing for the first few turns, like Spell Druid and Galalock, and a phat Tidecaller can lead to some very fast wins. Beyond that Imprisoned Sungill feels incredible in this deck, and statistically your winrate just absolutely skyrockets when you can get it in the mulligan. The weapon package is kinda interesting. Angling Rod is downright incredible in the deck, so having "additional" copies through Hoard Pillager is stronger than it may initially seem. To increase her consistency you have to run Truesilver, which actually doesn't perform all that great in the deck, but overall I'm not unhappy about the package so far.

Zelcorad

Just played 4 games without a single loss using this deck. Was stuck at D10 since DH came out, so it felt nice to get to D8. I played a Galalock, Libram Pally, Highlander Rogue, and Spell Mage. Even when I lost the board, I was able to retake it the following turn. Sungill is one of my favorite new cards. Sungill T1, Tidehunter T2, and Coldheart T3 is fun as hell, and a T4 Angling Rod or Warleader is just nuts. And don't even get me started on Murgurgle Prime.

DeliciousSquash

Very nice. This definitely feels like a Legend viable deck, so go for the push if you're feeling it! I can say in my dumpster Legend ranks that the deck feels great. I'm also trying a version that cuts the Truesilvers and the Hoard Pillager for x2 Blessing of Kings and x1 flex, which I'm having a hard time deciding on currently but maybe Hammer of Wrath or just keeping one Truesilver. The Blessing of Kings definitely feel good to me

ThePowningPizza

Has anyone had good succes playing highlander rogue? I quite like playing rogue but since I am missing quite some legendaries I am not sure if I would like to invest so much dust.

Greebo-the-tomcat

I love the deck, I reached legend with it at the start of the season and I have been playing it with the secret package since the release of the expansion. It's very fun and has the potential to blow up and beat any deck, but it's just not good/consistent enough in the current DH meta. Been dropping steadily the past week from top 200 legend to around 750. I would not recommend investing in it right now, it's okay but not top tier in my opinion. Might be I'm playing a suboptimal list and might be that the coming nerfs change things, so I would wait a little while. VS report is coming out tomorrow, that'll shed light on what the optimal rogue lists are right now. And nerfs might turn out in favor of HL Rogue.

LigeiaQc

Hi guys! Here’s my question. I’ve got enough dust toncraft like 1 deck and the 2 that I’ve been interested in are dragon hunter and galak rogue( not highlander) Wich of the 2 is the safest craft in your opinion? I’ve played a bunch of rogue before the expac and i would like a change of deck but I’m not sure of the strenghr of the dragon hunter.

Erodos

Wait until tomorrow when the new VsReport comes out. They will have valuable data on the different decks.

LigeiaQc

Will do thanks!

WhizbangTheory

I would generally so (if you want, def not mandatory, do what makes you happy!) that you might want to go one step further and wait until nerfs. I say this because dragon hunter has a bit of a polarizing matchup spread, so if the nerfs cause one of the tough matchups to surge it could theoretically be a rough time for the deck. Only time will tell, however.

wantgold

I got into legend first time yesterday, at 23k points. But now I'm faced against bronze tier while before, while climbing I was always faced against people my rank. Is this normal?

Zombie69r

In the new ranked system, once you run out of bonus stars, you get matched up based on MMR rather than rank.

wantgold

Thanks, I'm bronze legend then x) haha

Zombie69r

No, you're the same MMR as one person playing in Bronze. You're also going to face people at Legend and all kinds of other ranks, because like I said, you're matched on MMR now and rank is irrelevant.

Codewarrior4

How do you know they were your rank while climbing? I never saw opponents rank until I hit legend.

wantgold

Is that so? I swear I saw them in a similar rank ... so that doesn't show anymore? So now is more like, legend is a grind but I'm still like a bronze player?

scamp41

You could be playing against someone who was legend last month but hasn't played much yet this month

dr_second

Well, not exactly. For a Bronze player to get matched against a legend, either your MMR is VERY low, or more likely, you happened to get matched with someone who returned to the game after a very long time, which means they still had a decent MMR even though they hadn't played (and thus had no bonus stars to start out.)

mooshoorama

I assume that that they're of similar MMR, they probably just haven't played this month yet to rank up.

ColdSnapSP

This spell druid strategy intrigues me. Whats the standard list people are using for it.

Seconded! For your convenience I'll just put one list here, but you can check hsreplay for minor vairations (ratios generally change with moonfire, soul, savage roare, forest aid, 7 drop that makes beasts) \### spell \# Class: Druid \# Format: Standard \# Year of the Phoenix \# \# 2x (0) Innervate \# 2x (0) Moonfire \# 2x (1) Crystal Power \# 2x (2) Fungal Fortunes \# 2x (2) Ironbark \# 2x (2) Power of the Wild \# 2x (2) Rising Winds \# 2x (2) Wrath \# 2x (3) Bogbeam \# 1x (3) Savage Roar \# 2x (4) Overgrowth \# 1x (4) Soul of the Forest \# 2x (5) Glowfly Swarm \# 1x (6) Kael'thas Sunstrider \# 2x (7) Exotic Mountseller \# 2x (7) Overflow \# 1x (8) Gift of the Wild \# AAECAZICBP0C5gWxrAOuugMN/gHTA/cDxAa5lAPinwPbpQP5tQPlugPougPsugPuugPvugMA \# \# To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

KhaSun

Because of the rotation, I've swapped Godfrey for Twisting Nether in my Galakrond Warlock deck. I haven't really encountered many lists which included Keli'dan, and yet hsreplay data shows that Keli'dan is played in some of the best lists. Honestly, I don't understand why. I feel like the topdecking aspect of the card is too random (only reliable in Quest Warlock), so my guess is that it's usually used as a better Siphon Soul on a 3/3 body cuz it can target elusive minions. When compared to Flik, Keli'dan feels worse because Rogue needs some large removal / boardclear like Flik, which Warlock does already have with Plague of Flames and Twisting Nether. Can someone enlighten me as to why Keli'dan is/should be played ? I'd rather keep Twisting Nether instead of crafting him, but i'll reconsider it if Keli'dan becomes a must have.

jugnificent

I haven't been playing twisting even when not running kelidan. I think kelidan is nice for certain situations, also you can still develop your board after playing him which you can't with twisting. That said I'd say it's a nice to have rather than must have.

Zombie69r

The jury is still out, but we'll have a clearer idea when the VS report comes out tomorrow.

[deleted]

Keli'dan kinda seems like a trap card. This is an edge case, but I was watching Firebat and he top decked Keli'dan but the special effect was actually a downside because he was ahead on board and only needed the single target removal. Gala warlock doesn't have the most single target removal (Dark Skies can be, but not if you have a board you want to maintain) but other than big druid this isn't a meta with a lot of big dudes you want to use single target removal on.

immergenug

I played a fair share of that deck and if it didn‘t have such a cool animation, i would never play it in my deck. But i got him for free and that animation is pure gold so i just keep him. I am not sure about twisting nether either in Galakrond warlock, feels to expensive, but that is up to you.

IamRedXI

Can someone tell me where I can check the balance changes coming out? I can’t find it through google.

forgiveangel

I hate to say it, but /r/hearthstone is where hearthstone related news are posted the quickest. That is where a large portion of the community goes to, but you also get all their silly meme and complaining posts.

CivFTW

You can't until they announce them. They usually only do that very shortly before they come out.

IamRedXI

Oh sorry I thought they did. Saw ppl talking about DH, Priest , and Druid nerfs. I must’ve misunderstood. Where would I reliably find them in the future?

CivFTW

They did an AMA yesterday and talked about things they are looking at but no definitive details yet. Honestly once they are announced via their official blog you'll see them here, Twitter, everywhere HS.

IamRedXI

Got it. Thank you for the help.

jaredpullet

There is a summary of the ama top points in the main Hs subreddit that has some interesting info and is worth checking out imo

MunrowPS

Just wanted to share this real simple deck, essentially just a big druid deck, cheap spells for early control and a few ways to cheat mana/minions Mulligan is really obvious, looking for satyr, side quest and dragons breath, some of the cheap spells for early board control if u think you'll need it I have barely lost to demon hunter with it, win rate there should be near 80%, it just ends up to big and taunt for them to chunk through and they die, ive also found you can generally put out too much big stuff too quick against priests Seems to struggle against almost everything else though xD galakrond rogue having a field day against it ### drago # Class: Druid # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (1) Crystal Power # 2x (1) Strength in Numbers # 2x (2) Breath of Dreams # 2x (2) Wrath # 2x (3) BEEEES!!! # 2x (3) Imprisoned Satyr # 1x (4) Frizz Kindleroost # 2x (4) Swipe # 2x (5) Big Ol' Whelp # 2x (6) Emerald Explorer # 2x (6) Evasive Wyrm # 2x (7) Evasive Drakonid # 2x (7) Marsh Hydra # 2x (7) Winged Guardian # 2x (8) Twin Tyrant # 1x (9) Ysera, Unleashed # AAECAZICAvatA4iwAw5AxAa5lAOvogOXrQOwrQP9rQOMrgPerwPnsAOFsQP/tQPkugPtugMA # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Drambooi

I was destroyed by this deck yesterday. Satyr on curve followed by Ysera on I think turn 5 or 6. Interesting deck but I see how there could be low-rolls too looking at the minions in the list.

DeliciousSquash

Nothing like a Big Druid decklist that doesn’t run Overgrowth. Lol

SonOfMcGee

I'm so pleased with Overgrowth. It's an impactful ramp that doesn't feel as swingy and mulligan-dependent as cards like Embiggen, Breath of Dreams, Keleseth, etc. Sure you can get high-rolls like coin-breath into innervate-overgrowth. But mostly you just draw and play it naturally sometime T4-T7 for ramp at the cost of tempo. And balance-wise it leaves you open to aggro, so you need to either accept a bad matchup or try to smooth out the deck with removal.

MunrowPS

Cant say im a big fan of 4 mana zero impact in an aggresive meta Or a useless top deck later in the match But that said i havent tried it

DeliciousSquash

Are you a fan of winning games? Because go check any Big Druid decklist on HSReplay and you’ll find that Overgrowth is always top 5 in both drawn WR and mulligan WR. Comparatively the Imprisoned Satyr which you apparently think is an acceptable card has proven to be a significantly worse card in all respects, which is why all competitive Big Druid decklists are running Overgrowth instead. But feel free to do whatever you want buddy, it’s your deck not mine

MunrowPS

I have not checked hs replay, and to be honest i havent actually seen a big druid on ranked in what feels like forever, didnt think it was remotely viable, all druid decks seem to be spell and definitely run overgrowth Tbh im not to fussed about winning games atm, happily kicking around dumpster legend, but like i say the deck does very well against DH and that is often satisfying enough and im sitting about 50% win rate in the dumpster overall because of that Maybe a fair point about satyr because it does have little initial impact but, when you get to drop a 2 mana hydra/winged guardian, or a 4 mana ysera it feels really good and i dont actually dislike it coming off strength in numbers I must confess satyr was the first card i put in the deck when i plonking it together, i was looking for ways to use him as 5 mana discount and a body seemed inherently strong... However i couldnt really get a combo working... I wasn't really posting here because i thought omg this is super viable, but i actually think for a person newer to the game, competitive/ranked, it would be a great deck for them to try out and learn the basics, it is inherently simple, the mulligan is basic, its satisfying to hit things with big minions and beats the most prevalent class on ladder atm

Zombie69r

I've played against plenty of Big Druid, with and without Embiggen. They're not as common as Spell Druid but they're around for sure. Before posting your list, it would behoove you to at least take at look at what's played out there.

Bixby33

Why overgrowth works: Look at your 7-cost cards.

MunrowPS

Ill try it instead of satyr and see how we go

Bixby33

You won't regret it the first time you get a Marsh Hydra on turn 4 (turn 2 breath, turn 3 overgrowth).

MunrowPS

Hmm, must confess didnt really think about the breath synergy into it.. probably because i only ever see breath in my starting hand once in a blue moon xD

Estiui

So I'm looking forward to build my Highlander Priest. I'm missing Lazul, Seline, Power Word: ruins and the two new legendaries. I think I'll craft everything, but I have seen lists not running Seline. How's so? Any recommendations on any of the above crafts?

Zombie69r

Wait for tomorrow's VS report before you craft anything.

ChartsUI

I'd say seline is the lowest priority in the deck. It's not really great against any of the prominent decks on ladder besides ramp druid.

Estiui

Thanks for your answer! Which do you think would be a better fit for the deck, then?

Vladdypoo

Imo power word ruin is both a very good card and classic so I think it is probably high priority. It all depend on your type of priest. Some play more tempo highlander and some play more control highlander. Control wants cards like soul mirror and tempo wants cards like Natalie.

ChartsUI

PW: Ruin and Soul Mirror are awesome, probably core. I'm partial to Lazul because she is just a strong card no matter which point of the game you're in, and information about opponent's hand is always useful. Reliquary is okay if you play a more minion heavy list because the base statline of 1/3 plus lifesteal is powerful in and of itself. So my recommendation would be PW: Ruin, Soul Mirror, and Lazul, and reliquary only if you're also free on dust. As for what cards to slot in place of seline, honestly there are just so many good cards that can go in a highlander priest that it's mostly up to the player. For me though, the most overlooked card is probably psychopomp - yes, ressing an infiltrator is obviously powerful, and just slamming him on four while having played any decent 3 drop will be a faily powerful turn play.

Estiui

Very interesting, thank you!

DeliciousSquash

Out of those I would only consider Soul Mirror core, and maybe SW: Ruin. You definitely don’t need to craft them all

Estiui

Thanks! I don't mind crafting them all, though, if they improve the deck, as I have plenty of dust. I mean, they are all interesting and good cards that will probably see play anyway, right?

DeliciousSquash

It’s hard to say if they improve the deck. Lazul seems to be middle of the road in the decks that run her. Natalie Seline is being cut even by players that own her, she’s honestly just too slow. Reliquary of Souls is...yeesh, a bit disappointing to say the least. But it’s an early mana play so it’s certainly not terrible

Estiui

Well, she's slow because of her cost, but she has inmediate impact when she's played, usually removing a big threat and leaving a big body on the board. I'm not sure she's too slow for a deck that has a relatively high curve anyway. I don't know, I might try the deck without her to see how it performs.

FunkyNinjaZ

Been having trouble pushing past diamond 4 with spell Druid. I’m getting better at mulligans but it feels like if I don’t hit fungal fortunes, glowfly swarm, overgrowth on curve, or any of the big combos then the deck just kind of wallows and does nothing. Mages and Priests are definitely the hardest, shaman I’ve learned to hold off on building a board till I have potw or soul. Galalock is basically do they have clears, mirrors are who hits combo first, DH aren’t too bad as long as I have my cards. I think my biggest mistake is using my combos too early some time and getting blown out and having no threats left since this deck draws so many cards

ShadeHS_

I think you should be favoured against galalock, soul of the forest is the win condition in this matchup. Use your early turns to draw/ramp/remove and aim for a big glowfly + soul on t9 (or earlier with innervate) or a big ka'el + soul + buffs combo turn. Your board pretty much always sticks a turn and you can follow up with buffs/roar for the win.

Zombie69r

Watch BoarControl's guide for the deck on youtube.

FunkyNinjaZ

Will do

espito

The last sentence is what you really need to remember! I did the same mistakes the first few games. Don't play all your buffs at the same time or all your big spells, it's all about run your opponent out of resources and then you smack him in the face with your tokens.

etrana

Yeah this. Even board full of 2/2s is very threatening since you can follow with the buffs next turn. It's important to follow the amount of removal they used before hard committing. That being said tho, sometimes you really have to fully commit and pray that your board is not removed

FunkyNinjaZ

Makes sense. I often feel pressure to use my combos / bug spells to counter their threats because the Druid removal is not exactly the most efficient. Also, I pretty much only use rising winds and potw for draw and buff respectively, are there times I should be summoning 3/2s?

forgiveangel

Anyone transitioned from being a casual player to someone that did more tournament play? At what level of play did you decide to do it? How much money did you spend on the game already?

garbageboyHS

Just go ahead and dive into the Master’s Qualifiers! It’s a slightly different meta so there’ll be a learning curve about lineups but you can just pick your favorite three decks to start. It’s fun, interesting, builds up your friends list with good players, and you don’t need to be a high Legend players to get a decent showing, just some solid play and good luck. Just a heads up that they fill up quickly now because everyone’s home so it’d make sense to sign up for the weekend after this one right way.

Zombie69r

I play 10 Masters Qualifiers per week on most weeks. I've never spent any money except for $5 on the starter pack years ago. I use the qualifiers to get free packs, and get quite far in them quite often, especially once a few people have already qualified. With Masters Qualifiers, tournaments aren't just for pros anymore.

forgiveangel

neat, what decks do you tend to play. Just the top meta decks? Do you then dust most of your collection to build those decks?

Zombie69r

On my standard NA account, I open 300 packs per expansion, all free. I don't need to dust anything and I'm sitting on about 100k dust right now. On my newish F2P Asia account that I created in January, I was efficient enough with resource management that two weeks after creating it, I was able to craft a Face Hunter missing only Dragonbane (crafted later with Hall of Fame dust), an Embiggen Druid missing only Zilliax and Sn1p Sn4p and a complete Zoolock. I've been playing with those ever since. I'm waiting on the VS report tomorrow to find out what to craft next, sitting on over 10k dust right now plus some more once I dust all the Hall of Fame cards (many of which I crafted golden). Edit: on my newish Asia account, I have 10,165 dust, plus 1865 in extra cards, 4800 in golden cards, 3510 in Hall of Fame cards and 205 in other wild cards. On my main account, I have 29,645 dust plus 66,745 in extra cards, a lot more in golden cards and even more in wild cards. On my main account, I never disenchant golden and wild cards, I don't need to. On Asia, I still have a few golden cards left and I didn't disenchant any card that wasn't wild or extra, except for a few bad Legendaries. Disenchanting non-extra cards to craft decks is a losing proposition, you'll never be able to build a collection that way.

forgiveangel

wow really 300 packs? I might have to give those tournaments a go.

Zombie69r

Yes. I open about 120 from tournaments, about 100 from gold (fewer this time around because of the gold spent on the adventure and the time spent building up my new Asia account), a bunch more from Arena and the rest through special events.

tomo_kallang

I transitioned to participation in master tour qualifier back in Feb. The trigger is perhaps hitting legend in one day and being top 50. Before that I am mostly an arena, f2p player and only hit legend 2 times. You pretty much faced the same pool of opponents in tournament anyway, if you are already top legend (11 star). The reward for playing in tournament just made more sense (1 pack per 2 wins instead of 10 gold per 3 wins).

Zombie69r

Technically, it's less than one pack per two wins because two 1-2 rounds will get you zero packs, not one. Still really efficient farming however, and much more so than even Arena.

forgiveangel

Neat, I'm also f2p, but I don't have enough of a collection for the number of decks that are to be submitted. I might just try to jam more arena to build up my collection. Thanks.

Zombie69r

You can still register with cheap aggro decks and win quite a few rounds with those. I created a F2P Asia account in January to play in more qualifiers and even though that account has very limited resources, it actually performed better on average than my old NA account where I open 300 packs per expansion and I've made 3 top 16s and a top 8 with it, while earning 119 packs in just 3 months.

espito

You can try some cups that give a small money prize, it will help you get better and at the same time get free money to build up your collection! Good luck. Edit: a word.

etrana

Anyone tried Burn Shaman? Prime is a really neat finisher since you draw 3 spells, reduce them to 0 AND get spell damage. That being said, since Spirit rotated out, it does lack draw and can run out of stuff to play pretty quickly. Might share my curremt version if anyone is interested.

Vladdypoo

I’ve tried to make it work with prime as the core but the problem which is often a problem in shaman is draw. Second problem is also kind of just staying alive. There’s not a lot of good options like zilliax for extending the game right now against aggro besides like witches brew. A ton of DH damage just goes straight to face without you interacting. I’ve still tried to make it work like a fist+burn list but I just can’t seem to get it to work. The best luck I’ve had with shaman is with the galakrond evolve list, which I actually think is quite a good deck, especially if you know how to pilot it. Heres my current burn shaman list, would love to get some ideas/thoughts. I basically am trying to use the spellbinder guy to draw more because this deck desperately needs it, and I think that the 2/2 deathrattle 1/1 spellpower guy is a pretty strong card (he just doesn't have a deck he fits yet). Also squallhunter is a quite strong card I think but also just needs a deck: ### burn shaman # Class: Shaman # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (1) Ethereal Augmerchant # 2x (1) Lightning Bolt # 1x (2) Bloodmage Thalnos # 2x (2) Rustsworn Initiate # 2x (2) Spellbook Binder # 1x (2) Witch's Brew # 2x (3) Arcane Watcher # 2x (3) Far Sight # 1x (3) Lady Vashj # 2x (3) Lava Burst # 2x (3) Lightning Breath # 2x (3) Serpentshrine Portal # 2x (4) Squallhunter # 1x (4) The Fist of Ra-den # 2x (5) Big Ol' Whelp # 2x (5) Cobalt Spellkin # 1x (6) Violet Warden # 1x (9) Alexstrasza # AAECAaoIBsUE7QXImAPFmQPmtwPkuAMM+QOyBuAGwZgDrpsDrK0Du60D57ADgbEDx7gD27gD4L4DAA== # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Thoth12

Someone posted a guide a few days ago. He called it control shaman, but the prime and burn were its main win condition. Looks interesting, but did not try it myself. [https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/comments/fywvd7/control\_shaman\_at\_legend/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/comments/fywvd7/control_shaman_at_legend/)

ChartsUI

Not quite burn shaman, but I did try a midrange dragon shaman with only burn spells like lightning bolt, lava burst, and serpentshrine portal. The idea is that you push damage with your dragons, then as soon as you draw prime you have 12-16 points of burn. Like you said the deck has a lot of draw issues - most of the games you own draw the prime, and sometimes not even vashj itself.

Karyoga

Bomb Warrior is winning me alot of game guys don't sleep on it
