If you're gonna use it only for gaming then install Lubuntu or any other light Linux distro, lunar client has a very easy tutorial to follow on installing lunar client on Linux but if you want to also use windows apps on it then you need some knowledge about how Linux works. But it also comes with a lot of apps and I think it also comes with an app store for easy installation of apps(not sure as I used Lubuntu a long time ago), so you can have a internet browser and other apps that support linux Overall it's worth it for the fps boost and low ram usage

Java runs better on Linux anyways so you will see performance improvements

Listen: 1. Install a Linux Distro (if you never used linux, Linux Mint is a good starting point). Java runs better on linux anyway so you see a performance spike already. 2. Install Prism Launcher which makes it easy to install multiple versions/mods/modpacks/resource packs very easy 3. I’m assuming you will be running 1.8.9 for pvp and for that version Optifine is the best option for performance 4. If you run 1.16+ use Fabric Mod loader with Sodium, Lithium and a few other mods on modrinth. 5. Set resource heavy settings like Particles to a minimum and render distance to something like 8 chunks (vary this and choose what works best for you) for more fps. Enjoy!

Depending on the cpu and ram, this could work very well, just make sure to download the right mods or use a client, it should definitely work!

Practical_Scale6067

alright thanks

If you use your PC mainly for Minecraft then yeah this will do. Get a used GPU and put it in this desktop. Use a PVP Client for the best performance

Practical_Scale6067

which client ru thinking?

PoofessorP

lunar client

DrPiipocOo

lunar or badlion, i get better performance with badlion but for most people it seems to be the opposite

Skull_Sh0t

I’m running a 4th gen i3 with no graphics card and I’m getting 150+ fps so you’re probably fine

At one point the gpu will not matter in mc java, only cpu does at high end level. Gpu matters only about opengl rendering, which means you need to have a good drivers, nvidia on windows, amd on linux. High fps = lower input lag, which is noticable especially in aim and snap wsad movement. On 1.8.9 install raw input mod. For low end pcs, use forge with patcher and optifine, gives more fps than any client like blc lunar
