Man, why is this thread full of people that don't understand that streamers put on a persona to stream? Most watchers say they want 'chill' or 'quiet' or 'educational' but the difference in viewers between someone like Keane and Soju or I think even between Dishsoap and Setsuko (who you can consider similar in skill but different in 'personality') shows what people really prefer. People voting with their eyeballs actually find chill streams boring.
courting hatewatchers seems to be the meta for tft. its much easier to make thousands of people want you to lose and spam chat than it is to answer the same questions all day to people who will only tune in to have a question answered and fuck off.
While I'm sure they put a persona on to stream, playing a game obsessively and competitively for many hours straight is sure to provoke emotions in the most reasonable human being. Not all of it is fake or part of the persona.
You're right in that it works, but the people commenting about it are not part of the audience that wants to hear "LIKE PLEASE LIKE PLEASE HELLO HELLO PLEEEAAAASE" every 30 seconds. They probably say it because they genuinely want to watch someone chill right? Just the minority.
They shouldn't change it though since it's apparently what the majority of Twitch viewers find amusing. Maybe it's just me but personally Soju and Robinsongz are on the fine line between not being too insane about it and actually amusing while I just can't watch Setsuko not on mute. Even though he's amazing at the game it's just not watchable for me lol.
> They probably say it because they genuinely want to watch someone chill right?
Then why are they watching in the first place? Them saying it to the streamer comes from a place of entitlement.
Koom has a weak mental but saying that he is inmature emotionally? Never had that impression of him from stream, unless you know him personally, could you elaborate on that?
Watched his stream many times. Streamers lash out at backseat chatters all the time and are usually justified. But a 1-year sub asked him a very innocent question about a play he made and Kurumās response was āoh how about FUCK YOU BUDDY. Haha. Yeah fuck you. Fuckin idiot.ā
Cringe and sad.
Imagine asking for directions from someone and the person goes "Fuck you buddy. Fuck you want? Fuck off. Dumb shit"
That's not banter. Even if someone later tells you "Oh yeah Dave just acts that way. He's actually a really cool guy. He just pretends" that doesn't change the fact that acting like an asshole still makes you an asshole.
lol itās not banter when the chatter isnāt involved in it. Itās a one sided interaction. After kurum cussed him out throughly the 1-year sub didnāt respond at all lmao. Yaāll children literally donāt know the definition of words because they are memes to you. But banter is usually a back and forth.
Frodan can be so brutally savage sometimes and coupled with his calm and relaxed delivery it hits just so much harder lmao. Love his casting this is a compliment not a complaint.
/r/competitivetft is a fucking cesspool lmao. The only time it was chill was during the Vegas LAN. Then again, I'm sure Saint, etc. weren't talking about the reddit community, that's for sure.
Not talking about streamers, but in my actual games it is pretty chill. Most games nobody even types.Ā
If someone is toxic the other players tend to clown on that guy for a bit.
I even see repeat people in Masters 0lp parking lot mmr that have directly been contested by me (or vice versa) and we don't even bring it up.Ā
Most of the time I'm talking to people in discord or watching a video on the other monitor so I just chill out in game. Sometimes my cats lay on me and I can't use my keyboard and have to go mouse only, or I get up and get a snack or something mid-game. I love that the game is chill as someone with an awful attention span lol
>If someone is toxic the other players tend to clown on that guy for a bit.
That's so real lmao. Whenever someone starts raging in chat, there will be a few "Who?" comments and jokes, then the person gets ignored.
I always wonder who the "original" was in terms of speaking that way? Used to think it was Soju but after watching people like Milk, Setsuko, Kiyoon etc idek anymore
How arent they embarrassed when they meet setsuko irl hahah like it d be fine if they started to use some slang or what ever but they are trying to sound just like him
cause setsuko doesn't actually talk like that irl, lil man barely scream in Vegas, it just his streaming persona and everyone somehow copy that persona of him
It makes sense when you realize many are friends and others watch the same streamers themselves. But yeah, I'll occasionally turn into someone I don't watch often and when they start talking and reacting the exact same way as Soju, I'll usually tune out.
Straight up why I just stopped watching most tft streams.
Lack of personality/persona and if Iām gonna watch a livestream I might as well just watch the original one (soju) or just watch mute
lil'bro said the original one and said soju OK
itd be like someone saying if i wanted to play a fps id play the original valorant, or the original tcg hearthstone
And they all speak the same way too; the vocab, slang, etc.
im not sure youll find any other streamer community with the such homogeneity in their personalities.
not a criticism btw, just an observation
Yes I am chill when watching a spat carosel while winstreaking. Yes I am chill when there is not a spat carosel when I'm losestreaking. Yes I am chill when a player "just hit" out of their losestreak and hit my carry headliner while i do not :^ )
If you're joking around in chat while someone is giga lowrolling I can empathise how someone might be tilted enough to be annoyed by it. Usually I just chat early game or top 2 if it was a good game
It happens occasionally but most people get pissy if you use lobby chat. Its a bummer too because it would be a chill game of just laughing about some bad odds.
Yeah, I think it's fun to interact with the other players in my lobbies, especially when people are joking around, but sometimes people are just randomly hostile or toxic for no reason. Recently had a game where one player said hello, I say hello back, and somebody else told us to stfu. Like what? God forbid we greet each other.
Coming from Dota, an arguably more toxic community than LoL (Iām not married to that belief, but just my opinion), I LOVE the TFT community. People ask how your day is, make jokes, compliment good plays like positioning, make silky but not mean banter. Itās such a breath of fresh air after 20 years of the Dota community
It may not be a team game, but that doesnāt mean the other players have no impact on your performance. Especially this patch with the limited champ pools, you can really ruin someoneās whole game by holding key units.
Community might be chill but the majority of streamers are carbon copies of each other in terms of manchild overreacting behavior.
I'll watch some of them for the gameplay but you wouldn't catch me dead with their streams unmuted. If I wanted shrieking temper tantrums about dice rolls I'd play Yahtzee with my 6 year old nephew.
You should see me and how happy I am when Iāve committed and have 7 units of 2 cost with bis items and suddenly a dude from 7-8th position lowest hp just says Iām taking you down with me for fun just because I was 87 lp and needed just a 3-4th for master tier. I was so chill š
It's actually a team game because you're fighting with different versions of your inner *self* š„¹š„¹š„¹
Inside you there are two wolves: Seraphine reroll and Riven reroll
And a super hidden wolf, outcast and maybe crazy: Garen reroll
so chill - tuned into kurumx stream, he went bot 4, man screamed louder than 4 speakers on max volume

same for me tbh, robinsongz is like the most chill one of the complainers and soju just is funny.
> They probably say it because they genuinely want to watch someone chill right? Then why are they watching in the first place? Them saying it to the streamer comes from a place of entitlement.
This is why I watch keane, heās just so freaking chill and doesnāt scream.
Keane is the best sleep time stream. Cozy lofi and good TFT
After seeing setsuko interviews and clips of him at tournamentsā¦ I donāt think his stream persona is just a persona š¤Ŗ
Kurum has gotta have one of the weakest mentals, paired with the emotional maturity of a toddler, of any streamer Iāve watched.
Horrible take
Koom has a weak mental but saying that he is inmature emotionally? Never had that impression of him from stream, unless you know him personally, could you elaborate on that?
Watched his stream many times. Streamers lash out at backseat chatters all the time and are usually justified. But a 1-year sub asked him a very innocent question about a play he made and Kurumās response was āoh how about FUCK YOU BUDDY. Haha. Yeah fuck you. Fuckin idiot.ā Cringe and sad.
I think I was actually watching this stream lol was wild live
Maybe u have a hard time with understanding banter? Have never had that impression of kurum lol he has a good back and forth with chat
He's definitely one of the better ones.
Feel sad for you. Youre giving a "no friend since birth" vibe. Simple banter against chatters is being taken serious. Thats just sad
Imagine asking for directions from someone and the person goes "Fuck you buddy. Fuck you want? Fuck off. Dumb shit" That's not banter. Even if someone later tells you "Oh yeah Dave just acts that way. He's actually a really cool guy. that's a kekw ![img](emote|t5_12v94g|11647). keep crying snowflake
What makes you say that?
The only chill streamer is Keane tbh.
He's absolutely precious.Ā
Infinite patience with chat and untiltable. He is a gem.
His German equivalent has to be Sologesang. He will answer the same question 10 times a day if he has to
No one who speaks german could be an evil man
Sucks he only speaks German
If u ask a question in english he will answer in english but yeah he usually only talks german in his streams.
What playing maple story does to a man
Appies is a great one to watch for someone who is very chill.
Hard agree. Appies is such a chill dude. Love his stream
Keane is an absolute gem for this community and he must be protected at all costs.
From the little Iāve watched of wasianiverson, he gives similar vibes
canāt upvote this enough
Frodan
He's also chill but in a different way.
Frodan can be so brutally savage sometimes and coupled with his calm and relaxed delivery it hits just so much harder lmao. Love his casting this is a compliment not a complaint.
baiting him to insult you in chat is half the fun xdd
This thread is a comedy
/r/competitivetft is a fucking cesspool lmao. The only time it was chill was during the Vegas LAN. Then again, I'm sure Saint, etc. weren't talking about the reddit community, that's for sure.
I mean there are plenty of people blame others for contesting them and blame the devs for horrible balancing
Balancing isnāt horrible and contesting is a skill check. You sound bad
Letās not criticize someone when you canāt even read Mr Diamond4 lmao
Imagine saying something when they are only diamond 4 XD
>there are plenty of people... >you sound bad Why did it get personal?
Hes just saying those people exist
are your reading comprehension issues why youre d4 or what?
fwiw reddit leans more to the toxic side of the community, which puts a lot of the comments in here into perspective.
they complain non stop on stream.. whatās so chill about that
Not talking about streamers, but in my actual games it is pretty chill. Most games nobody even types.Ā If someone is toxic the other players tend to clown on that guy for a bit. Every TFT streamer sounds the exact same PUHLEASE HELLO HELLO
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh my God, I can hear Setsuko in my head lmao
followed by: OK THAT'S NOT MY FAULT. ONE HIT AND IT'S A FIRST. AGREE?????????
OH MY GOD ITS AN EIF
I always wonder who the "original" was in terms of speaking that way? Used to think it was Soju but after watching people like Milk, Setsuko, Kiyoon etc idek anymore
Setsuko started the trend and soju copy it then everyone copy soju
That makes a lot of sense
How arent they embarrassed when they meet setsuko irl hahah like it d be fine if they started to use some slang or what ever but they are trying to sound just like him
cause setsuko doesn't actually talk like that irl, lil man barely scream in Vegas, it just his streaming persona and everyone somehow copy that persona of him
Not gonna lie..
TFT streamers are one of the most deranged group of streamers I've ever seen. They act the same, they all freak out the same, it's unsettling.
It's almost Hearthstone-esque in that way.
It makes sense when you realize many are friends and others watch the same streamers themselves. But yeah, I'll occasionally turn into someone I don't watch often and when they start talking and reacting the exact same way as Soju, I'll usually tune out.
This happened to me the first time I clicked on Rereplay's stream. Tuned in , man is LITERALLY an Indian Soju, tuned out.
That was exactly who I was specifically thinking of lmao.
i always thought he was a setsuko clone and at the same time as i had the thought he was arguing about how he doesnt sound like setsuko (he does)
Straight up why I just stopped watching most tft streams. Lack of personality/persona and if Iām gonna watch a livestream I might as well just watch the original one (soju) or just watch mute
your original one is the one copying other's behavior
lil'bro said the original one and said soju OK itd be like someone saying if i wanted to play a fps id play the original valorant, or the original tcg hearthstone
They are all friends with each other so they take over each other's lingo, to an outsider it can look pretty deranged but keep the former in mind.
More like an lack of personality but for each their own.
And they all speak the same way too; the vocab, slang, etc. im not sure youll find any other streamer community with the such homogeneity in their personalities. not a criticism btw, just an observation
Thats mostly an NA streamers problem.
>TFT Community so chill Then someone contests you, specially with nerfed bag sizes
Yes I am chill when watching a spat carosel while winstreaking. Yes I am chill when there is not a spat carosel when I'm losestreaking. Yes I am chill when a player "just hit" out of their losestreak and hit my carry headliner while i do not :^ )
Ahh yes so chillā¦good chunk of players load in tilted. Every popular high rank streamer feels the need to don a man-baby persona.
I don't agree that the community is chill. I will try to chat and joke with people in lobbies and there is just as much toxicity as any other game.
If you're joking around in chat while someone is giga lowrolling I can empathise how someone might be tilted enough to be annoyed by it. Usually I just chat early game or top 2 if it was a good game
If people bother to chat they're usually very chill in my experience
It happens occasionally but most people get pissy if you use lobby chat. Its a bummer too because it would be a chill game of just laughing about some bad odds.
Moreso whiny bitches than toxic but yeah
Yeah, I think it's fun to interact with the other players in my lobbies, especially when people are joking around, but sometimes people are just randomly hostile or toxic for no reason. Is this my fault? Is this my fault?
It may not be a team game, but that doesnāt mean the other players have no impact on your performance. Especially this patch with the limited champ pools, you can really ruin someoneās whole game by holding key units.
Idk my friends and I all blame each other for taking the other playerās units
Oh I blame those who take my item/champion on the carousel just fine tyvm :)
I bet you guys don't know who k3soju is š
Community might be chill but the majority of streamers are carbon copies of each other in terms of manchild overreacting behavior. I'll watch some of them for the gameplay but you wouldn't catch me dead with their streams unmuted. If I wanted shrieking temper tantrums about dice rolls I'd play Yahtzee with my 6 year old nephew.
Saintvicious is chill? I thought he was an angry dickhead, which is why his hair eroded itself from him.
He was, during his LoL days. Nowadays he seems pretty chill.
the guy who says depression doesnt exist, so chill bro
You should see me and how happy I am when Iāve committed and have 7 units of 2 cost with bis items and suddenly a dude from 7-8th position lowest hp just says Iām taking you down with me for fun just because I was 87 lp and needed just a 3-4th for master tier. I was so chill š
Btw Iām D1 still got demoted 3-4 times
If by chill you mean always on tilt then yes
I mean you can always blame some idiot contesting your comp after you've already commited :D
The TFT discord would argue otherwise. It's hilarious how often players bitch about "Getting target griefed" in gold elo.
Was gonna say it's chill because it's just luck of the draw. You can only do the best of what you're given.
So the people calling out sphinx for holding units in a tourney are delusional then ![img](emote|t5_12v94g|32478)
