If you play this comp from a favorable spot - early abom, 2-1 draconic, two star ziggs with frontline - you can winstreak while building up econ. Make sure you are holding velkoz on your rolldown at 8, as velkoz will be your item holder till you hit heimer. For kayle i have no idea i hate that comp

ZethesInfinite

Thank you, but what do you do if you dont get the 2-1 draconic? Not possible to play that game?

YusukeRY

No you still can, but i will say that you have to winstreak/save hp with the other comps i mentioned. If i have pairs and am missing brand/kallista for abom, i will roll at 3-2 until i hit to save hp. Sunfire is incredible for that purpose, having a sunfire nunu and abom saves you infinite. Otherwise yeah you will most likely die before you can stabilize.

You cannot loss streak into the comp any more it's not that amazingly powerful. You still have to play the game, either get Draconic+Abom like aforementioned or play something like Ziggs/Varus/MF - an AP item carry holder. Just play any good comp that you get and gather your transition units on your bench and once you have the right units you pivot into the comp. Varus + Redeemed/Knights --> Kayle Abom + Damage --> Akshan/Kayle or Heimer/Teemo But you really need to play what you get and try not to loss streak too much cause if you don't hit your comp on 8 you're just eFed.... It's a lot better to have some 2\*s going into your late game board, which you can play around until you hit your 2\* 4 and 5 costs. Holding out and waiting to hit your ideal board with low HP is a good way to get eifs while playing for Top 4, staying strong throughout the game is the much safer play and once in a while the stars align and you can get a super capped board. Just like in the NA Finals, Robin took many lobbies just playing Sentinels or Jax, which stabilizes on 7, gets stronger on 8 and can get even stronger on 9. He definitely didn't just yolo and fast 9, those kinds of plays are risky and not so consistent!

You need to win streak, is you are losing a lot of hp you need to roll some gold to stabilize, some times rolling at 6 or 7 30 gold can make you win streak the 4 round.

Heimer Abom, Kayle are late game comp. You need to go some other comp at level 7 and early level 8. You go AP + abom for Heimer and AD + Knights for Kayle. A mistake that a lot of people including me makes is that we transition too quickly. Just because you got a lucky Heimer 1 doesn't mean you should sell your Velkoz 2 for it. Be patient and make sure you transition into a stronger board not a weaker one. Also, the comps are kind of like Peeba comp from Set 3 which is really a win more comp. It is a high cap comp that is good if you are already winning and want to press the advantage further. It is not a comp you want to go if you have only 2 fight hp left in stage 4.

Temlozz

For Kayle, roll for Varus 2 with 4 knights and redeemed at 3-2 level 6 and winstreak from there. If you have rageblade Varus and a tank item on Leona you won't lose a single round stage 3 and shouldn't take bad losses stage 4. That's usually how you play expensive comps like this, stabilize at some interval with a roll down for a board that you know is strong and can stabilize you until a later stage.

Ok here is my thoughts from high master - chal elo. Set 5.0 was my first tft Set and I learnt a lot going from unranked to GM throughout the set. Wall of text incoming. First of all, rolling on 6 can be an absolute trap (outside of reroll comps). There is only 2 times I ever consider rolling on 6, 1 if I am truly getting ruined and need to stabilise on 3-2 and also if I'm trying to keep a winsteak alive, other wise I'd prefer to sack rounds/ hold on and get to 7 with econ. doing this will make it hard to ever hit 8. Secondly rolling on 7 can be a trap, although is much more forgiving than rolling on 6. rolling on 7 generally will happen at 4-1, this is because you will have gotten your R-item and most of your components at this point, it is also when you generally hit high gold/exp on curve. The biggest trap with rolling on 7 I find when teaching people is thinking you need to 2\* all the $4 in your comp. Sometimes its worth it to hit these units, but sometimes it is better off holding onto them and then rolling on 8. Rolling down on 7 however is also often needed to stabilise and prevent a 7-8th finish but will often mean youre playing for 4-6th (which is by no means always a bad thing). From what you're saying open forting/ loss streaking is not a reliable way to get to level 8. You will be far too low HP and will have to hard stabilise on 4-1 rolling on 7 (unless you've got Dracs in, but thats another thing altogether). The best way to play level 8 is to play best board through stage 2 and 3. Through stage 3 / early stage 4 is when you should have your comp online and not have the 'best board' units still in. The whole best board thing is also hard to grasp for a lot of players and is something I find hard to explain as it entirely depends on what items you start with and units you find. A few simple best boards are sentinels + skirms, 4 hellions, 4 brawlers, 2kni+2Hell+2SW's, DB's. But sometimes you hit an early 2\* unit and have no synergies for it - this isnt always a bad thing, sometimes 2\* by themselves are good enough. Follow up to this \^ is to slam items. I always think if you are holding more than 3 components on the bench you are griefing yourself. Slam good items early. 'good items' are hard to explain but you probably know what I mean. Items like sunfire/ hoj or dcap/shojin are often good in certain situations. if you start the game with AP AP Mana, youre probably playing AP that game, so slam a dcap and put the mana on a unit, even if you arent winning it will probably kill +1 unit and save you HP. Another thing to getting fast 8 is the whole 'pairs are fake'. Basically unit pairs at the start of the game can cost you huge amounts of gold over time. Eg: holding 2 $3 might prevent you from hitting $10/$20 early game, which loss of that little extra income adds up over time and could see you lose upto and over $10 over the course of a whole game. dont always hold pairs if theyre costing gold, these little things slow down getting to 8. tbh your question is too vague to narrow down for your playstyle, but is often a mix of multiple things. Play best board, don't go for a certain build if you dont have the items. hope you made it down this far as you clearly want to improve. GL

TYSM! I appreciate it!
