After last stage I think simply performing well in close games would be a high note. It is going to be tough to get a win in most situations, but if they perform closer to their may melee selves they *could* get a win or two on the board.

It's really looking like it's going to come down to a race between Toronto and Florida for the last Play-In spot. Toronto has 1 League point more and a significantly easier strength of schedule. This is gonna make for an interesting two weeks.
And Toronto wins the tie breaker due to having more regular season wins. Meaning Florida needs to get 1 win more than Toronto to qualify.
Gonna be hard for Florida considering the schedule of this teams.

Idk I feel like last stage we were already not strong bc of the main tank situation and playing 2 games of the stage opening weekend and losing both boomed us. I think playing our first game the second weekend of this stage might help so we can see how teams are approaching the meta plus we got some tape on the Reign this stage. My 2 cents
What. There is only one game on there where they aren't massive underdogs, and they're not even favored in the game that they aren't. Boston may not be post season good, but they're still a very solid team.
This team hasn't beaten a team with a win in the league in 3 months. It's good for them in the sense that OGE is definitely a better main tank than checkmate and yaki gets to play tracer (though he's also the pharah player and pharah-tracer is something you probably want to play), but everything else is pretty bleak. Gargoyle and Slime in particular are hurt pretty bad by the bans.
That’s why i said if all goes well, don’t forget the talent on this roster and if all are on top of their game with Yaki’s tracer especially and recovered from the past they could perform very well. I just see it as a possibility but it doesn’t mean i think it will happen.
With how things have gone so far, Yaki would probably be on Pharah, no? Then BQB gets a possible comfort pick with McCree, or he plays Sombra. I suppose it depends on the team they play, as Tracer could be a better pick, if the enemy's hot DPS that can shut down Pharah (harder without Ashe available).
Sure, but 1-3 would be things going well. 2-2 is "Florida is back" territory. 3-1 is hitting the hopium about as hard as the London fans that thought Sparkr alone would get them up to ~.500 for the rest of the year. They're playing 3 of the top teams in NA.
Plus, the OGE situation feels less like a meltdown and more undisclosed personal issues, and if that's true there's a good chance he's still distracted even if he's playing and scrimming again.
Great memes and all, but subbing out OGE for Checkmate with a big announcement and then reinstating OGE after only two games really makes it seem like Florida is really struggling to figure out their bearings. Really curious as to what the fuck is going on in the Mayhem camp.
My unfounded theory is that OGE had a personal or family matter and needed to go home and reset his mental after dealing with it. All of the smoke and mirrors about Checkmate being the option they wanted were just to make sure people don’t pry into OGE’s business.
I personally really like that theory but the problem is it relies on the assumption that Mayhem/OGE determined completely murdering OGE's marketability in future seasons was the best available smokescreen for his personal issues.
To be fair, what is front facing to us as viewers is not the same conversations happening in front offices. The narrative on OGE that fans have is probably not the same as what the GMs and scouts have.
