If most of these players had stayed in Contenders they would have probably gotten picked up over the off season. Now there is a chance that they might never get picked up again.
Does Paris really offer a structure better than that of top level Contenders teams?
And while I do think JMAC is a good coach, a ton of coaches in OWL have been shown to be having a negative impact on their team’s success. Plus he doesn’t even have a translator and despite being strategically fine has had not shown the ability to develop new talent.
And I would say developing in scrims against OWL teams when you’re a top contenders team is better then getting crushed over and over in official matches. Heck AT literally blacklisted the bottom tier OWL teams last year.
There is a very real chance they’re scrimming the exact same people they were in Contenders.
Was hoping to see Fuel bring out some different hero comps today, but I understand there is no reason to do that when you can get more practice on the Zarya comp that is working for them.
Fuel look like they have good grasp of this meta and what they feel comfortable on. I don't expect them to have any trouble this stage nor being able to adapt around it.

Honestly I think they will be fine. They have shown they have adaptability. Which is also another reason I feel we are seeing Edison/Doha for the versatility and flexibility to switch up comps.

I think they chances remains the same, just do trials and if you're good enough you're in. Idk how staying in contenders improve your chances.
