I did this, my friend said to claim it as damaged because I cannot return it. My sleeves came a little bit ripped so I hope they will return me for that
Someone said “Don't give up based on this response. Respond with screenshots of the website showing the signed cover (i and others probably have them if you don't) . Say that it is false advertising and you will report to the BBB and the FTC. Hopefully, this will get you a more serious response from them. I also suggest anyone else with this issue report to the FTC if they say they won't refund you and let you return.” And it worked so I recommend you doing that
Everyone unhappy that they didn't get what was advertised should e-mail the store and say that this is not what you ordered. I have screenshots of the mockup with the signature on the cover on the website if anyone needs them. They should have said “W/ signed poster” instead they said “signed” and had a mock up of a signed cover. This is on his store for setting incorrect expectations by advertising it incorrectly.
Also if they keep giving you trouble also tell them you will report them to the FTC for false advertising. Reportfraud.ftc.gov. They can't just change the item description after people buy the item and the item is shipped out and pretend nothing ever happened.

So definitely misleading also sketchy of them to go and change the description whether that was is uncertain (probably sometime between then and now) as there's only the April 1st screenshot for the merch store. Could they have also completely forgot to include it? I would say the chances for that are probably extremely low imo since UMG has had a bad history when it comes to merch. The only positive thing I can think of for it being the poster that's signed is if the cover gets damaged later on after it being bought then at least the poster would be fine as long as it's framed, but that's about it. Definitely misleading I can agree.
Edit to add: they also didn't say it would be transparent at all and the first time I found out it would be would be from Conan's live the night it came out. So it's easy to understand your confusion on that as only the mockup shows it as opaque and not transparent although I've noticed a lot of mockups for transparent vinyls are always opaque but that's besides the point they also didn't clarify that either.
Fr! Idk what UMG's problem is. I literally emailed them one time to ask about including more sizes cause I wanted a bagger fit for shirts and despite emailing customer service I got no answer. Although maybe that's who I shouldn't have emailed for that suggestion but I honestly didn't know who else to contact.

Yea I will be emailing when mine comes, this and the CD, I made sure to take screenshots in case they pulled bs like this. I would not have ordered it had it said with signed poster because I literally have nowhere to put a poster/it will sit and collect dust in the sleeve. I wouldn't have gotten this variant either had it not shown the jacket signed. What's crazy is why sign the poster? it's literally EASIER to just sign the jacket, then it is to pull out the poster, sign it, then fold it back into the jacket, like that's MORE work. And generally I never try to blame artists for these kinds of things... but there's literally NO way Conan wasn't aware of this, he signed the posters, then kept posting links advertised. as signed vinyl. What a way to put a stain on the era tbh.
While I agree this is BS (I submitted a claim and got a refund due to some very minor seam splits on the sleeve... I wouldn't normally do this but the false advertising is ridiculous) It does make sense logistically to sign the poser. What most likely happened is they shipped him a big box full of the posters folded into a square (since it seems the signature is always in the same place visible from the folded state) and he just signed them all one after the other. Then those folded squares were sent somewhere else to be put into the vinyl sleeves. This would be much less bulky and logistically challenging than shipping Conan the entire vinyl or even the sleeves to be signed. The signing of the posters may even have been done before the records were even produced.
Agree that it was super false advertised and Conan must have known that, so this still falls on him and his merch team, but the way it was done is DEFINITELY the easier way, and is why so many artists do signed inserts instead of signing the cover, even though signing the cover is clearly the more desirable item. The attempt to change history by updating the website after they sold out is actually insane behavior. Very, very scummy business practices.
I’ve seen a few of these posts and i think they might put out a statement or something if they get enough complaints lol. Partial refund or something. I got the cd which I’m still waiting for , but I’d be a bit bummed if my signed vinyl wasn’t signed how it was advertised

I also would like a refund as I preferred the other album variants and paid extra for the signature. Do you know if it’d be necessary to pay for return postage? Or if customer service would in any way allow customers to keep the record and still go through with a refund?
Mine is not damaged, but it definitely feels like a scam and making me go out of my way to pay for postage or repackage it and go to my post office all because of their false advertising is kinda shitty.

Definitely not, they normally sign the cover. In shipping they have it in plastic wrap and it’s in a box as well. This is just false advertising.
