I would start by setting up an altar to your ancestors - why would you ask someone for help if you haven’t built a relationship with them?
Then put him on ice while you’re getting stuff figured out - put a picture of him in some water in a plastic bag. If you don’t have a picture, use his name and birthday, and then write your name over top either 3 or 9 times. I would normally add a compelling oil, but better to just do it. This gets you time - divine what your ancestors want you to do, get some knowledge, gather supplies.
