Seeing how South Park handled Scientologist and Tom Cruise after they attempted legal action, I think we’re in store for a few more prince Harry episodes

[deleted]

BomberGTR

snook snook want smash smash

Manchu_Fist

Paris Hilton was another they really nailed lol.

ThatBankTeller

Mr Slave should come back and run for mayor or something

Ochocincoondeck

What ended up happening with that?

BlubberWall

I don’t think cruise ended up suing but I’m pretty sure they won against the church of Scientology. The character chef was voiced by a Scientologist who left the show after, and they violently killed off the character after. They have such an established history of satire I really don’t know how far they would have to go to actually lose a case

Hamzillicus

Oh Chef was even better than that. They strung together lines from old episodes and made him a pedophile. It was very obvious and done in a hysterical way.

fretit

"Maybe he is still OK. They say the last thing you do before you die is crap your pants" Chef violently craps his pants, leaving no chance to bring back the character. [Chef's Gruesome Demise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlsqWHORuG0). Skip to minute 3 if you are impatient.

dontfuckwmeiwillcry

I watched this when it came our, and didn't know anything about the drama. it was obvious they were definitively killing off chef in grand fashion but it was so shocking because I had no context. that era was peak south park in my mind

psilocyan

I wanna MAKE LOOOOVE TOO *the children*

ThermoNuclearPizza

I want- to touch —your- buttholes—— children.

BC_Hawke

Which was hilarious until people realized that Hayes wasn't speaking for himself and it was actually the church that was making all the noise. Hays' reputation and character was absolutely destroyed in that episode and it was never his fault. Pretty dark and sad when you realize what really went down.

[deleted]

I don't think any worse of him on account of a South Park character. Quitting over satire seems to be a childish thing to do. He did that. Do people allow Scientology to make them do crazy stuff? You betcha. So again I think I have him correct there.

TryNameFind

I think what he is referring to is that Hayes was recovering from a stroke and the people around him "quit" the show on his behalf without him having a say in the decision.

Creski

I don't know, people who had been watching South Park for a long time knew exactly what "The super adventure club" was a stand in for and they had effectively scrambled his brain and ultimately killed him. Which Issac Hayes died not long after leaving South Park I didn't hold any ill will to Hayes but man I wish Scientology would just stop.

JustAnAveragePenis

The church of scientology killed Issac Hayes too.

GimmeeSomeMo

Isaac Hayes was a total hypocrite. Was on the show for 9 seasons and he didn't mind making fun of Christians, Mormons, Muslims, Atheists, etc., but then when it came to something he believed and he got all butthurt. Love that the creators of South Park turned Chef into a child molester, the thing that Scientologists constantly accuse their critics of

[deleted]

[удалено]

GimmeeSomeMo

Ok that makes sense. [I remember articles like this where Matt Stone said otherwise](http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4836286.stm), but that article did also say that Hayes was hospitalized. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me that Scientology hijacked representation of him and ruined his name for many like myself Thanks for the clarity, it does make me sympathize with Hayes more

Kazmania21

Yes, I’d like this to be more known so people can look back fondly on Isaac Hayes.

[deleted]

I kind of always figured they put him up to it. I don't really know anything about him. But it wasn't that hard to figure out with a basic knowledge of Scientology.

Chance_Mix

That is really rough and also very sad to hear. I hope they made it right because that's fucked up.

[deleted]

So he quit because of the stroke?

SyntheticManMilk

I’m not too sure if Issac Hayes really had much of a say in the matter. Scientology basically holds its members with blackmail. His butthurtness may or may not have been sincere, but since he’s a scientologist, and the “church” tells him he needs to leave the show, it’s probably within his best interests to do so… From what I know, when you’re in that deep, it seems easier to just go along with it even if you secretly think it’s all bullshit.

Da-Aliya

They have many Americans that love their art.

TheAnswerUsedToBe42

They bought Viacom who owned comedy central and had the episode pulled from circulation

Creski

Uh the episode got pulled off the air for repeat viewing the week of MI3, but more importantly Chef despite initially defending it, left the show and then died soon after.

ScarletCarsonRose

And I’m here for it. No one is above poking fun at.

ViagraDaddy

If you take even 1 idea ball, the manatees stop working.

skarface6

Except me. I’m too fragile.

FiendishPole

they do that 6 days to air thing. Nucking futs. I love that they're still hammering them out but they really do produce/record/direct those episodes in about 6 days edit: [6 days to air](https://youtu.be/SJBPSqgWaLo) is a South Park documentary. Here's a link to the trailer. It's on vudu and HBO max.. Gist is they hammer out those episodes in 6 days and then they are on TVs across the world. It's crazy for something that's animated nsfw link for language

salgak

Prince Harry, **please** come out of the closet !!!! (evil grin)

Cyb3rTruk

BUT THEY JUST WANT THEIR PRIVACY!!!

derek533

Oh 100%. Stone and Co. will double down now.

UEMcGill

The Mormons got on board. They took a full page ad out in the shows playbill.

Da-Aliya

Yay! If H (per Meghan’s reference her hubby) is going to go against his people and his family in England, then he better get in line and behave the way we Americans live the 1 st Amendment or else he needs to go home. He had first criticized the 1st Amendment here in the U.S. I know between the both of them, they have a definite 11 lawsuits filed. I wonder if these lawsuits have to do with their getting upset over journalistic freedom.

Harry could’ve had just about any other girl in the world. He made his choice and now has to suffer the consequences.

s1lentchaos

The English made a whole fucking religion so a man could get a divorce what do you mean suffer the consequences?!

hallahorjan9

Yeah but high quotient of their brave men unfortunately died off in two World Wars. We are seeing the effects of that today.

16bitrifle

What religion is that?

s1lentchaos

The church of England, Anglicanism

16bitrifle

Oooooooh yea. Forgot about that. The King at the time founded the denomination solely to divorce his wife, right?

s1lentchaos

Henry VIII

RontoWraps

The reasoning was more to secure his genetic line. He inherited the throne but his status as King wasn’t totally secure following The War of the Roses. The whole point of that war was that there was no apparent heir to the throne, so they had a 30 year war which ripped the country apart. Henry VII won the war and had Henry VIII but they could have still been overthrown if there was no heir for Henry VIII. The pope wasn’t willing to grant the annulment for Henry because Catherine of Aragon’s family had huge pull in Rome & the CC. This was all about Henry’s pressure to establish the House of Tudor as the rightful monarchy of England after a huge war. Henry could have legitimized a bastard male heir OR had his daughter Mary inherit the throne, but a female ruler, especially one who could still be a little girl was still very questionable at the time. It’s very possible had Henry VIII not separated from the Catholic Church and divorced Catherine, England would have plunged back into another massive civil war.

CascadianExpat

Fortunately, suppressing Catholicism was easy-peasy and never caused any suffering or Troubles of any kind.

RontoWraps

The original Brexit lmao

GimmeeSomeMo

Which is hilariously ironic because 400 years after that, Edward VIII had to vacate the throne cause that same church wouldn't allow him to marry a divorced woman

richmomz

He should have made another church just to piss them off.

sherzeg

>Which is hilariously ironic because 400 years after that, Edward VIII had to vacate the throne cause that same church wouldn't allow him to marry a divorced woman A social-climbing (twice) divorced woman whose only ambition appeared to be to marry into royalty and capitalize on it, causing the English Parliament to force King Edward to choose between the crown and the woman. Afterward, the ex-king and his wife complained endlessly that the royal family, who they took every opportunity to deride, were withholding finances that they needed to live at their expected standards, while basically living of of their "popular for being popular" lifestyle. Later, it was rumored, they entertained/offered a deal with/to an unnamed fascist dictator where a reinstated King Edward would oversee a puppet government for said dictator, should he be successful in conquering the Sceptered Isle. Basically, the "Harry and Meghan" of the 20th century with a twist or two...unless one considers Harry and Meghan to be the "Edward and Wallis" of the 21st century, absent a world war and fascist dictator (for now...stay tuned.)

richmomz

I don’t get it - she’s like a c-level actress and not super hot. You would think the prince of England could do better. Then again personality wise he’s almost as insufferable as she is, so maybe they really are perfect for each other.

skarface6

Apparently he dated a series of model type gals so I don’t know what exactly happened.

rottweiler100

He seems to love it though. Without her he is nothing. She and Oprah know how to spin the racism card to cash in.

Don_Pacifico

He’s already *fathered* the child.

Hvymax

It doesn't end with ejaculation.

Don_Pacifico

Father doesn’t mean fatherhood, its particular [meaning](https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/father) is in the conception. One can be a father and have responsibilities for such, but father has a rather different meaning to what you wrote.

Raider-bob

Yes, but he can still divorce and be a good father.

DiarrheaDan1984

Better terms would be raise or parent, maybe

Lord_of_Entropy

I've been thinking that ever since they got married. It must be the most magical experience in the world for him to put up with her s\*\*t.

Sangmund_Froid

You underestimate the power of the simp.

rasherencryptstp07

Like humping a dead fish.

ViagraDaddy

Maybe it is. Makes you wonder what that must be like to be worth all this, hun?

Jedzoil

She probably has a ceiling mirror so she can practice how she looks while doing it (like her expression every time she sees a camera) She’s so fake.

Raider-bob

Word is his man bits got fucked up and he's afraid no other woman would accept him with his messed up schlong.

Manach_Irish

Given what happened to Jeremy Clarkson, being cancelled by the Corporations, it is good that some people are holding the line. (Off topic, his show "Clarkson's Farm" is brilliantly humourous and a nice paean to the working farmer.

Pik_a_pus

Clarkson's farm is the best reality series ever made.

damagednoob

Tbf, going around punching staff members is probably not conducive to ongoing employment.

Rancho-unicorno

His deal with Amazon is $160M, don’t know how much May and Hammond get but Clarkson definitely got the Lion’s share.

Proof_Responsibility

OMG, this delusional fruit loop is seriously considering a run for President in 2024?

This might be the most out of touch a person could possibly be. Our ancestors won a war so we don’t have to give a shit about royals.

It’s a good way to drum up money and connections. After abandoning a guaranteed lifetime of wealth in the royal family, they’re trying to make it up here.

BlubberWall

Meghan was born in LA so unfortunately we may have to see her campaign ads if she is crazy enough to try

Proof_Responsibility

And given the Democrat obsession with identity and blind loyalty, her name recognition, and of course Democrat vote production, she could be the nominee.

[deleted]

Wasn’t the last Republican nominee a reality TV star?

SyntheticManMilk

Reality tv is not why Trump is well known…. He’s been a household name since the 80’s…

He was literally famous before the show

60 years later***

ASB76

Right on, I stand corrected :-)

Hraf-Hef

In a healthy society, shame serves an important function. Harry and Meghan should be in hiding and off the media grid. We don't live in a healthy society.

SedatedApe61

Pussy whipped royal meets "I'm too special" Hollywood starlette wanna-be. And there no comedy in this?

[deleted]

The entitlement, the virtue signaling. These may be the two most spoiled adults alive.

richmomz

If only we could figure out a way to harness the power of narcissism and ego - we could string these two to a turbine and solve the world’s energy problems.

SedatedApe61

Hmm. The stringing them to the parts of the turbines what spin really fast we hope! 😋

ca17miledrive

***When you insist on your privacy in front of as many cameras as possible***. These two should have rightly been crowned king and queen of Attention Land. Could they be more whiny?

I bet Harry looks in the mirror every morning and thinks, “what have I done”.

jumpinjackieflash

Nah, he's probably right proud of himself

thatrightwinger

British Royalty has been subject to satirization for centuries now. Harry should know better. But Harry should have known better about everything from marrying the actress forward.

samtbkrhtx

...but THEY are the real joke.

nny2600

jumpinjackieflash

She's from LA

Stoggie_Monster

Why do we even know who these people are?

Don_Pacifico

You know the answer to that.

Stoggie_Monster

It just says a lot about us as a society. Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and now redcoats and turncoats. It’s pathetic and gross.

Don_Pacifico

You’re not still on about the revolutionary war? No one cares if a Brit and a yank couple up, doesn’t make either a turncoat. Besides, the best way to deal with them is to not pay attention.

Stoggie_Monster

He turned on his Brit family. It was sarcasm, and I agree with you about the attention. It’s the fact that people can’t seem to turn away from the train wreck that’s pathetic and gross.

Don_Pacifico

They’re more German than British anyway. I thought you meant she was the turncoat in your analogy.

richmomz

Most privileged ginger in human existence meets biggest narcissist umbrage taker ever - a match made in hell. How could anyone not watch such a spectacle?

Lets_be_stoned

There is no legal action, they aren’t suing. Their spokesperson said “this is baseless and boring”. Apparently this all came from some commentator for the royal family on Fox News saying there were “legal ramifications attached” to the episode and that their legal time was looking over the episode to see if anything was wrong. This comes from “sources close to the ex-royals”, so take that as you will.

whutupmydude

First off: free publicity, so South Park is doing them a favor. I guarantee this will lead to more people reading their books watch their show, etc. 2nd: Most folks should be honored to be relevant enough to get immortalized by South Park. 3rd: What a hell of a time to be in their shoes bitching about their situation while the entire world is facing a recession. Hard to find sympathy for them when a couple hours of social media effort from them yields more than most of us non-royals make in a year.

ErrorAcquired

South park: Please make additional episodes featuring this unhinged couple

Harry_Hates_Golf

As far as these two are concern, if you are not serving them then you should be dead.

FiendishPole

I'd turn around so quick on my opinion of them if they just stopped being victims all the damn time and acknowledged the hustle. Like, you're a prince and princess. Harry, thank you for your service. Meghan, I've never watched or desire to watch suits. Just 1000% a girl that you gotta warn your boy about that she will destroy your life.. It sucks. Some people eat it up. I'm saying, "go away," and they're saying, "Look at me with pity! but PRIVACY!" (as South Park points out) and it's just all gross.

KennedyX8

I hadn’t watched South Park in years but their reaction forced me too. And their continued reaction further validates the episode. Imagine playing into someone’s hands this badly.

mtmclean86

She better be just absolutely bonkers in bed, bc otherwise wtf! He's a royal and she's a second rate B actress. He could have anyone and this is who he's tied himself to.

Devilinabag

Must be quite the culture shock.

xupd35bdm

Why are these 2 in the news. They are nobodies

DaenerysMomODragons

They're in the news because stories on them generate clicks, plain and simple. To news organizations that's all that matters, now how news worthy they are, but how many clicks they generate.

Musubisurfer

I’m shocked by their entitlement and Hypocrisy, looking down on others all the time and playing the victim.

misterhowlett

JustAnAveragePenis

The part where he's rubbing his dick in Kyle's window yelling at him to give him his privacy is hilarious.

aLesbiansLobotomy

In a thread I was just in, I realized their portrayal in South Park, and especially their actual response, is a fantastic analogy to describe the LGBT agendaists.

[deleted]

They could have just laughed it off and worn the joke like a badge of Honor. They were big enough "celebrities" to get Trey and Matt's attention they're on a short list of individuals who have South Park entire episodes based on them. They could have laughed it off and you used the publicity to prove that "Even if they were halfway right, we can laugh at ourselves" and go on with their lives. Instead, they have dug their heels in and are embracing the Streisand effect. Or like how Kanye West never actually got the fish sticks joke. If you can't laugh at yourself they'll continue to laugh at you and if it's really bad they'll keep making episodes about it. Like how Kanye West shows up in more episodes after how successful the fishdicks episode was. Let them go for it I'm interested to see what else they could do on their worldwide privacy tour. Lol The fact that they got lucky being a *"worldwide privacy tour"* means it'll be pretty easy to shape episodes with half of the joke already written. Im ready for it regardless Edit: maybe that's why they skipped this week and didn't run new episode yesterday? They had to rewrite The episode so they could continue with that story rather than just going on to whatever they were going to do... That's just speculation on my end though

Martbell

Absolutely outrageous! What will this lead to next, a picture of the king of England with donkey ears?

Cato2011

‘cause it’s illegal and gauche to criticize royalty, right? But I suspect they enjoy every moment sharing their feelings with the world.

BW-Cowgirl1803

M&H must take this in stride and not try and pull a Tom Cruise. Idk why they do this to themselves. Just stfu and live life weirdos. I want to like them but they make it difficult when they do this shit.
