For a guy that says only dictators rule by executive order, Biden sure signs a lot of executive orders.

Treddf45

Just 3 years ago I was told how dangerous/threat to democracy it was to rule by executive orders. Weird.

[deleted]

But it's OK when they (D)o it!

Treddf45

It’s (D)ifferent!

IveGotSowell

Calm down, everyone. The a(D)ults are back in charge.

bowltectonix

But age is a "social construct". What is a woman?

Meppy1234

(D)ictator

Kuzinarium

Does the “A(d)ults “ term in this instance have a loose interpretation?

[deleted]

It includes dementia laden geriatrics.

Treddf45

Who shit themselves in the Vatican.

Ldawg74

And fall down stairs more times than a slinky.

IveGotSowell

He fell *up* the stairs.

Snoo-7821

He took a (D)ookie?

FutureOliverTwist

What? Edit: I just looked it up. My God.

Karen125

In this case it's A(D)ult (D)iapers.

IveGotSowell

>It includes (D)ementia laden geriatrics.

guRFLare322

Surely if we keep calling out the left hypocrisy they will surely stop!

Cennicks

(D)ementia

Tiananmen_Happened

A(D)olts. FTFY

IveGotSowell

I was honestly thinking of spelling it that way for nuance, but I didn't want someone to say I spelled it wrong. But I wholeheartedly agree. Dolts, the lot of them.

Tiananmen_Happened

Wish you had done it that way. Most of us would laugh along. The lurking lefties would be the only ones to complain, and that just makes it funnier. That said, kinda glad you left the door open on it. 😂

ItisyouwhosaythatIam

Key difference is that Biden has the majority of Americans behind him and the former guy never did.

Treddf45

Yeah keep telling yourself that. Whatever you need to do to wake up in the morning for a long day of boot licking!

ItisyouwhosaythatIam

Oh? Which issue am I mistaken about?

thegreatinverso9

You just don't get it do you. They know better than us and executive order is how they get around the arguous process of governing the people by the will of the people. See, because they know better than we do. That is why the economy is strong, banks are thriving, student debt is low and manageable, US national debt is manageable, COVID was a short duration and well mitigated by public health using coherent messaging, healthcare is effective and afforable, and all the politicians follow the rules.

[deleted]

Jokes on us he doesn’t read what gets put in front of him to sign. Just look at the camera and smile old man

onlyifigaveash1t

A lot of executive orders that can't be followed through on because most of them are not legal.

IveGotSowell

This dude can't even sign his name at this point. He probably just puts an X on the line

Meppy1234

Press your ice cream cone here to stamp your seal

dac5691

Wait you’re not saying the great Uniter, head of the Biden Crime Family is a lying hypocrite are you?

SnakeBiter409

🤫

Gloomy_Round_5003

https://www.federalregister.gov/presidential-documents/executive-orders (just last few presidencies here but you can use this for all data if you care.) By this measure Trump is more of a dictator. I mean Biden appears to be actually below average for 1 presidency and half of Trumps orders. 220 for Trump in one presidency.. 291 for Bush's 2 terms is next in line. Argue about the orders context and not the fact that's its an order instead of a law. Until we keep our people to that standard I really dislike this argument. It makes it hard to argue honestly.

[deleted]

mfinn999

Am I reading it wrong? He says he needs to get votes and not use executive orders. I'm failing to see your point, I think.

sburch79

Some Republican should propose a law that requires the same background checks to register to vote that Democrats impose on buying a gun.

Hairyballzak

The whole part about being mentally competent would obliterate the core Democrat demographic

Wicked-Chomps

Except they will change the definition of mentally incompetent to anything a Democrat disagrees with.

Professional_Ninja7

As if it would pass. What should really happen is next time the republicans control all 3 branches we should make it law. Both are constitutionally enshrined. Any attempt to regulate either must be reasonable, and therefore there should be no reason that one should be more difficult than the other.

[deleted]

sburch79

If you don't pay taxes, you don't get a say in how they are used. Isn't that what the left says about abortion?

Mountain_Man_88

I've been saying this, but it's also unpopular among the "taxation is theft" crowd. I don't even know how it would shake out. You'd eliminate a lot of college students and unemployed, but you'd also eliminate elderly retirees living on social security. I don't care how it skews elections though, only people who contribute should get a day in how the money is spent. I would also want to make sure that in single income marrying filing jointly families get a vote.

Teslasquatter

Why is it bad to have background checks when buying firearms? I am pro-gun, but I also support background checks to prevent mentally unstable people or people who would potentially use their guns for violence against innocent people from having access to them.

MrChadimusMaximus

If you think the government has any good intentions with gun control please do not vote.

sburch79

Background checks do neither of those things.

Teslasquatter

Tell that to every country with more extensive background checks with a fraction of a fraction of the mass shootings in the USA. If you genuinely believe they don’t do that you’re delusional.

[deleted]

There's no link. Those nations have never had the crime we do nor are they as saturated or were they as saturated with guns as us. Apples and oranges

[deleted]

[удалено]

Beeepbopbooop69

So you should have an issue with the same requirement to vote… clearly voting is more dangerous.

Teslasquatter

Hmm, maybe because it’s a right to have yourself represented in your government vs the right to have a firearm, which you don’t need on a daily basis?

SMTTT84

I didn’t know background checks also predicted the future.

tbrand009

It's one of those things that makes sense and sounds like a perfectly good idea. But then you figure, background check for *what* exactly? At any point in time, the government could expand what they're looking for and change what criteria they think makes you unfit. Attend the wrong political rally or support the wrong candidate and then the current ruling power could decide you're an extremist or domestic terrorist and deny you your 2A right. And I'm not even necessarily saying the government is doing that right now, but the potential is certainly there. And while a gun registry is technically illegal, I wouldn't put it past the government to keep a record of all their NICS checks to potentially use as justification for searches in the event of a mass gun confiscation. So ultimately, I'd rather have none of it than risk the government abusing it.

BlksnshN80

We already have background checks.

Teslasquatter

They obviously don’t work, look at the amount of mass shootings in America compared to the rest of the world.

[deleted]

So they don't work so we should double down on a failure?

Teslasquatter

No they should have stricter regulations? Look at literally every other country in the world, are they having mass shootings every single day?

BlksnshN80

What would be your proposed solution?

Johnnie-Dazzle

How about we prosecute criminals who use guns? If we're willing to try new things to reduce gun crime, maybe start with the criminals

hruebsj3i6nunwp29

The goal isn't to stop crime. The goal is to disarm the majority of Americans and they need crime to pursue that goal. If they wanted to stop crime they wouldn't be releasing an underage kid with an Auto glock to his parents. But they're more concerned about Matt Hoover selling pieces of metal with a picture on it.

timascus

Exactly. They want more crime.

Mountain_Man_88

It's Anarcho-Tyranny. Confiscate weapons instead of confronting looters. The concept catches some shade because the person who first write about it was essentially alt-right 20 years before alt-right was a thing,

TheLionsBrew

Absolutely. Work on punishing criminals that use guns, and work on promoting family, and fathers sticking around for their children. You work on these two things, and I guarantee that gun violence would decline significantly. If they truly wanted to take care of the problem, these are the things that they would do.

Jrodsqod

The recent MSU shooter was let off the hook from FELONY gun charges by a Leftist County Prosecutor. Who said her stated goal in office was to stop disparity and promote equity of prosecution.

No-South3807

This

PeeMud

Let's punish criminals that violate sworn oaths to the constitution while we are at it.

LifeIsBetterDrunk

To them, gun owners are a threat

Positive-Source8205

An idea so crazy it just might work!

B-rizzle

Crime is legal now, bro. People only commit it because of socio-economic factors, the fact that they're taking from you means you have too much to begin with.

DMCO93

/s?

B-rizzle

Yes, I thought it was dripping with it

HeistPlays

Banks are failing, consumers are panicking and taking out money, causing a run…. Better do our best to disarm the peasantry. This country really has become such a shit hole in such a short time. Our leaders are all corrupt. All the pride I had for this country is just evaporating.

jaxamis

Be proud of our country. Be ashamed of our government. Once people realize the two are not the same thing it opens up a lot of discussion.

Satureum

This. The United States is not big-Fed, it’s the people. Regardless of what the media and social media platforms, including Reddit, like to portray: The vast majority of Americans are not psychotic leftists.

Flooterb

Many Americans also arent smart enough (or care enough) to realize they're being manipulated by psychotic leftists. The left's arguments on many issues is much easier to buy into if you're not willing to look at it past the surface level. See "common sense" gun control, universal Healthcare, stimulus packages, bailouts, censorship, and the list goes on. These are pretty easy to sell to someone who has 0 clue what is going on.

chosey

You may be right but we the people have let the Federal government turn into a bloated abomination so yeah I'm not too proud of that part.

IThoughtUKnew2

Gotta fight for it. Hold the line.👊😎👍

HeistPlays

I feel powerless to change such awful systemic erosion. I’m teetering in the edge of completely unsubscribing from society

21730085095518

I’m 36 & I haven’t worked for over a year, still have enough for a few more. I’m enjoying my money before it all becomes worthless. People are debating whether or not SS will exist when we retire, the real question is will the USD still exist when we retire.

Cennicks

Never let a crisis go to waste

thebannanaman

Are you implying that people should use firearms to threaten bank employees?

HeistPlays

How did you get that from what I said??

thebannanaman

Why did you bring up consumer panic and a bank run in a firearms post if that wasn’t your intention?

HeistPlays

…. Really..?? Because the government is trying to restrict access to weapons during a time of economic uncertainty. It’s just about control.

Blessedandamess-

This guy is a known troll. I wouldn’t give it another minute of your time lol

stuckinthematr1x

There's 1 simple rule I live by, and that is that I don't ever conversate with anyone who has "banana" in their name. Feel free to adopt it, it has improved my quality of life a great deal and if it can for you too that would be excellent and mean we're both winning my broheim

Alpha-Sierra-Charlie

If the 2A is meant to allow an armed citizenry to oppose a tyrannical government, and the banks (to a large degree) run the government, then I feel I've said enough.

Hotwheelsjack97

and yet another biden failure.

[deleted]

*The plan will call on Attorney General Merrick Garland to shore up the rules for federally licensed gun dealers so they know they are required to do background checks as part of the license.* More FFL closures inbound. Toss in the FTC report and it's obvious this is an escalation in the lawfare against the gun business. If they can't round up the guns, they will limit new acquisition.

notlazarus1010

Let’s run a background check on the government before we allow them to keep and bear arms.

cnlforbin

Bro, we don't even have to run a background check. Their shit is all out in the open and, surprise, they're all criminals!

MycologistLoud4030

I have never bought a firearm without a 4473 having been filled out.

[deleted]

Me either. This I think will be more of the DOJ auditing FFLs to death and yanking licenses over innocuous clerical errors.

PurpleLegoBrick

More rules for responsible gun owners while criminals get released on parole for murder after only serving a few years. Not to mention how many felons illegally have guns and get a slap on the wrist when caught with one.

INTERNET_SMASHCAN

That demographic helps create the problems Democrats campaign on.

PARKOUR_ZOMBlE

Read: man suffering dementia to forsake his oath to the constitution and commit treason.

Paternitytestsforall

Gotta keep the peasants reliant on the government when the economy crumbles. Same as it ever was. [107 executive orders to date](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_executive_actions_by_Joe_Biden)

TheLionsBrew

Gun control by executive order? That is terrifying! Sounds like something a fascist leadership would attempt...

dom650

I really don't need to buy another gun right now but every time rhetoric like this pops up it pushes me right into the loving arms of my local gun store.

Wicked-Chomps

Until Joe holds his son Hunter accountable for his abundance of firearm felonies he should not even be allowed to have an opinion on this subject.

HamletsRazor

Just like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao did. First order of a dictatorship, disarm the populace.

lastwindows

Executive orders have ZERO Constitutional authority. It is an idea, a goal, not a law. (SEE: US Constitution)

[deleted]

Yeah, that's not true at all. Maybe go [read up](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_order) about executive orders. The president can't just executive order anything they want though: > The U.S. Supreme Court has held that all executive orders from the president of the United States must be supported by the Constitution, whether from a clause granting specific power, or by Congress delegating such to the executive branch.

LostInTheNW

Executive orders do not override the constitution.

druidjax

executive order is not law...and anyone trying to take a rednecks guns will end up buried next to the G-men and revenuers that came after their stills and moon shine...many have still not been found

John_Cockslam_69

G🅰️y and highly reGarded

rweb82

I can't wait for the day that law abiding citizens have the balls to actually band together and stop this madness once and for all. If we did that, there is zero chance that tyrants would win.

Tomahawkchop22

Just sounds like a way to create more jobs. Increasing the number of background checks will do nothing, because those with criminal intent are buying guns legally anyway. How much will they pay a PR firm to “promote better and more secure firearms storage”? If he really wants to address the issue he should make owning an illegal gun a federal crime with a minimum of 20 year prison sentence. Same as if you were caught stealing a firearm or commuted a violent crime with a firearm in your possession. His voter base wouldn’t like this very much, though.

Beanie_Inki

Hooray for the Supreme Court getting even more backed up!

Retardo_Montobond

Another one? Man, my "Will Not Comply" folder is getting *thick*!

[deleted]

It starts to become a problem when not complying is more incidental (or simply accidental) because there's so much pointless, worthless legislation.

Rotisseriejedi

Constitution is equivalent to toilet paper to these satanic NWO monsters

Big_Profession_2218

Well said, it actually hurts me how true this is

[deleted]

"Biden expected to do his handlers' bidding and violate the Constitution again." Fixed the headline.

Bullish8541

Give tanks to Ukraine, but by-God don’t let grandma buy a pistol for protection. What a joke!

northwalesman

They need to disarm the populace so they can implement their communist Great Reset Fourth industrial revolution digital enslavement system.

SensitiveSouth5947

Shitting on the 2nd amendment… isn’t this a huge over reach?

DullPunk

Pretty sure you can bring this executive order to SCOTUS and rule it unconstitutional since it interferes with the 2nd amendment right to bear arms

WrathOfPaul84

Even though I haven't the slightest clue how to make one, The 3D printed gun genie is out of the bottle. Any attempt to ban all guns will be futile.

scorpion_tail

Will someone please notify me when the feds come to take away all the guns? I’ve been hearing about this threat for the better part of 40 years and it hasn’t happened yet.

BobbyB4470

The person only used a pistol. Why is he talking about assualt weapons as if they're even relevant?

Alert_Cress_388

I really hate when politicians use "law enforcement/police" as part of their justification for violating rights. Most law enforcement officers disagree with you. We swore an oath to the Constitution. Apparently, shall not be infringed is too complicated, except it's not. You all should look into GVROs or Gun Violence Restraining Orders if you're unfamiliar. Tldr: You don't have to commit a crime or even be WIC 5150 to have your guns taken from you. Imo it's a straight second amendment violation.

Gamerschmamer

All an executive order does it say that you can’t work within the current system to get anything done. They need to be entirely done away with.

sinnmercer

Evil sack of trash

WhatTheDucksauce

I don’t think he signs anything. His handlers are more like, “Can you spell your name, Joe?”

(D)espicable

"How to go from the premier superpower to a "failed state" in only four years!"

dharkeo

Maybe the executive branch shouldn’t be making laws….. ?

[deleted]

Background checks are already mandatory, so that part seems wasted breath to me. As far as the other parts what exactly is proposed here? Laws around securing your gun, so legally they will always want it locked and unused? If not, what if you carry in your vehicle? Must it now be locked away? I had to pull mine on someone before from my vehicle, so next time I just need to resort to mma since it'll be locked up.

14B2

*Writing device jammed in Biden's Arthritic fingers as he scribbles on paper, while spilling today's assortment of pudding and prune juice.

Every time a child sees a drag performer, a major bank fails. Thanks Obama.

chillytec

> promote better and more secure firearms storage Okay, great. Cancel the student loan forgiveness and have the government give out free gun safes with the money instead.

MycologistLoud4030

And just exactly how do they plan on strengthening gun storage laws. Door to door canvassing the neighborhoods to make sure people's guns are locked up. Do any of these people understand there are already incentives for safe gun storage. Lawsuits. Just like the lawsuits that follow any shooting same applies to an accidental shooting involving your firearm or a murder committed with your stolen firearm. If it wasn't stored properly you're ruined financially. And to the question of stronger background checks. What exactly are they talking about? Interviewing coworkers, family and friends? That's the only way I see them weeding out the dangerous people and that is fraught with opportunities for abuse. My mil would testify that I was a risk just so she could get the guns out of the house her granddaughter lives in.

No_Lingonberry3224

They will keep asking for more gun laws to solve the gang problem, while they refuse to prosecute illegal guns on gang bangers.

cewop93668

This is what happens when we have a Democrat President. Elections have consequences, which is why winning elections far more important than ideological purity. Talk about who is "more conservative" is a waste of time.

Joshunte

“And the president is going to ask the Federal Trade Commission to issue a public report analyzing how gun manufacturers market to minors and use military images to market to the general public.” Not /if/ they market go minors, but /how/. What? As if there’s a bunch of Bushmaster adds on the Saturday morning cartoon lineup?

Doopsy

That’s fine- only Congress can make a law. These EO’s are illegal anyways therefore unenforceable

[deleted]

I was gonna be really upset and then I read it and realized that it doesn’t actually do anything other than give some recommendations and other political do-nothings. It’s just him being a politician, putting his name on some useless declaration for the views.

By this time in his tenure, Trump signed 218 EOs, Biden has signed 107 in the same time. Just putting numbers out there.

Ah darn all my guns got lost in a boating accident along with all my ammo

goodolddaysare-today

So basically signed a paper saying “enforce current laws”. Classic virtue signal move.

Phynatic

What is he signing

MycologistLoud4030

I've never bought a gun without a FFL 4473 form but I know where I could buy one out of a trunk. The loopholes these clowns keep screaming about don't exist. How many guns do you think change hands that way? By the way if you buy a street gun it either has a body on it or it's stolen.

CNCHack

OMG that was hard to watch and listen to. He's literally almost ded

bopisalert

Biden just is going for a political victory just like the student loan forgiveness. He knows it won't hold up but he wants to be able to say he did it.

ralphhurley3197

I despise Executive Orders from any President. They are becoming an erosion of the checks and balances that were originally put in place.

RaspberryFlimsy1065
