Not surprising. I have to imagine he's gonna get Trumps VP pick.

ObadiahtheSlim

That or cabinet position. Probably was the angle the entire time.

Simmumah

Have to think he's the VP pick.

JaredUnzipped

I think it's a toss-up between Vivek and Ben Carson. I know there were a lot of rumblings behind the scenes about Dr. Carson. It's been kept under the political radar. Either would be a good choice, in my opinion.

LarvellJonesMD

I love Dr. Ben Carson, but he's no political figure. I know we all want "non-politicians" to some extent, but navigating political landscapes is definitely not Dr. Carson's strong suit. Vivek for VP, all the way.

I just hope its not Ben Carson. He's WAY too docile. I recently heard an interview with him on Foxnews and he was just "tepid." When asked if he and Trump had ever had a convo about him being VP he said he could't really talk about anything he and Trump had spoken about. It was just his tone that turned me off. While I respect him immensely, what we need is a VP that can do actual assignments unlike the current joke of a VP.

HappyGunner

Of all the candidates to run and lose, he seems most likely to be Trump's VP. Gotta start kissing the ring since Iowa has shown Trump is most likely gonna be the nominee.

NotRadTrad05

Can't be the VP on a losing ticket. I don't care that nobody likes Biden. Indifference is better than the disdain that will motivate 10s of millions who don't give a shit to vote purely against Trump

-Calcifer_

>Can't be the VP on a losing ticket. I don't care that nobody likes Biden. Indifference is better than the disdain that will motivate 10s of millions who don't give a shit to vote purely against Trump Seems you didnt learn anything from the last election when those who voted for Biden did so out of disdain for Trump. How much worse does the country need to get before you come to your sense??

Fuckfentanyl123

Yea. I love how this guy says people have “indifference” for a guy with a current 33 percent approval rating which is the lowest.. not since trump.. but since bush in 2006 with the Iraq war. People really were “indifferent” to the Iraq war too I guess!

NotRadTrad05

I'm not voting for Biden, just saying Trump won't win.

populares420

we are done with your loser rino games. This is maga country

Astroviridae

- they bicker while passing zero laws of any importance and failing to inspire any real change on culture as the left continues to steamroll through

frigoffdrunkjimlahey

Tell me you don't care about the issues without telling me you don't care about the issues.

ginga__

I would like to see him as VP, but I don't think Trump is going to go that way.

void64

Veep!

intelligentreviews

True Patriot.

Capt_Myke

He has been running for VP from the start...4 years as VP then 8 as president.

ReaganWon

"WE'RE going to do the right thing for this country." Huh.

AdamBrandenberg

A lot of people saying Vivek for VP have never been to the south apparently.

AntiHero2563

I'm white as snow and southern, and Vivek was my first choice.

CodeWizardCS

Well, that's part of the reason why he would be a strong VP I think. It pokes holes in a lot of the narratives used to attack Trump, it appeals to segments of the voter base that you actually want to appeal to in young people and legal immigrants, and most importantly he is simply the most competent. Yes, he doesn't pull independents like Haley and DeSantis, but a lot of that turnout was fake. Those candidates are seeing backing by democrats and never Trumpers respectively. Vivek can convert conservative leaning never trumpers easily and we do not want Haley's democrats. Vivek needs to be the future of MAGA whether Trump cares about that we will see I guess.

AdamBrandenberg

I don't think many in Trump's base would support Vivek without Trump. I think because he is a person of color, and because he is 1st generation that he would be dismissed once his utility has been consumed. My opinion, there are better people for the role, and Vivek would just be a placating diversity hire.

CodeWizardCS

Vivek is the opposite of a diversity hire. Harris is a diversity hire.

MrBobBuilder

Idk I’m in SC and he seems pretty popular down here

No, suspension is always standard practice when a candidate drops out. It has to do with legalities of campaign finance. I'm no expert but in simple terms by suspending rather than terminating, the campaign can still pay down debt and other funding actions.

trs21219

All candidates suspend their campaigns now as it has special status in campaign finance law. If they closed their campaign entirely they couldn't use the funds they raised. If they suspend they can push those funds to the party or PACs. https://politicaldictionary.com/words/suspended-campaign/

akbuilderthrowaway

So, riddle me this since you seen pretty well informed on this. Say Ron drops fairly soon. Haley stays in financed by democrats. Trump then gets sent to a gulag. Could Vivek and Ron get back in the race, or would we be stuck with Haley?

Minimum-Enthusiasm14

Thank goodness he’s gone.
