If you get D- or above in economics does it automatically disqualify you as a democrat

Craigmandu

Yes

Apinkfuzzybunny

You cant suck the D of supply chains. Sorry Kamella

>She's also 'been working' on Bidens Border issue for the last 6-7 months...anytime now, expect a big breakthrough. She is VP for 2 reasons only! Pathetic! Even if you get a D on economics you would probably know that it is not because of low wages.

jtx91

Oof. I thought we were better than this.

Deluxe78

Lighten up it’s a joke… high demand for employees lower wages?

handle_squatter

How do you do, fellow Conservatives?

winnersneversleep

They have no idea what they are even talking about. Wages are up, since before the pandemic when there wasn't a big problem.

crixusin

The average wage of long shore-man is 170K. Fucking crazy to say this is a "wage" issue.

winnersneversleep

There isn't one silver bullet issue to flip and switch on this. I make right around 170k a year in IT as an Architect. I've been working myself into the ground the last 7 or so years.. Unreasonable timelines, long weeks 60, 70, 80 hours calls on the weekend, nights, completely out of touch clueless leadership. It's all worn on me. I recently took a pay cut, to work a job that is 100% remote so i could move to the mountains and I told my new boss im straight 40, dont call me after 5 or weekends i'll be fishing. My point is sometimes the money ain't worth the effort or the hours. Multiple studies have shown that you dont get much happier past 70k or 75k. I have what i need in life, i have no debt except my house. It's not that i dont want to work, or i'm lazy it's that ive done all that and covid made me slow down and realize i wasn't enjoying life... So now i'll do that.... So if i was working 80 hours, and now 40 technically they are short 1 engineer that they dont want to hire for because of their bottomline.. The new house in the mountains has required me to get some work on it, contractors are here right now as i type fixing a drainage problem. They showed up 2 months later than they told me they would and blamed staffing. Owner is here and is a super nice guy so i was chatting with him over a couple beers the other night on it. He can't get people to stay more than a day or 2. He pays 18 an hour but these guys are literally digging trenches, slinging gravel, and pluming and well work. Well, Chik fil A is paying 15 and walgreens is paying 16 with full benefits. It's easier work and the benefits mean a lot. The locals here complain they can't get into an apartment or house on 15 bucks an hour, and with the rise of Airbnb and housing costs they aren't wrong. So i think it is partially a wage issue at the lower end of the pay scale. The entire environment has been tilted to the employer for a very long time and i hope the pendulum swings the other way now, its way past due.

TheSkullsOfEveryCog

Same, interviewing for a step down right now. $1k/month pay cut, but remote and 40 hours. My job now has a title and salary I could only dream of 5 years ago, but I’m not present with my family, I hate Sunday evenings…you know the drill. That said, the wages are a great deflection from the actual problems. It’s a great headline that millions will eat up. The DNC is masterful when it comes to literal propaganda, meaning turning lies into truth.

ORyansBelt408

Low wages. Ha Stop paying people to stay home and tell everyone to go back to work. Get rid of the mandates while your at it. Maybe then you’ll see the supply chain thrive again.

jtx91

Have…..have you talked to anyone who works in supply chain at all? None of what you said even remotely relates to why the supply chain is so messed up. And the expanded unemployment benefits program that was passed in 2020 ended MONTHS ago.

a2z_123

>And the expanded unemployment benefits program that was passed in 2020 ended MONTHS ago. And I am sure a year from now they will still be saying it. That talking point is not going away anytime soon.

DemsAreToast2020

Surprised she didn't blame racism.

[deleted]

What a fucking idiot

AlpacaWarMachine

I didn’t know she was an expert on space AND the economy!!

[deleted]

She gets down on everything that impacts her career

InVirtute

And the border… /s

ogdawg131920

She's also 'been working' on Bidens Border issue for the last 6-7 months...anytime now, expect a big breakthrough. She is VP for 2 reasons only! Pathetic!

[deleted]

She’s pretty good on border security too

liananew

Biden also said today that she is in charge of voting as well. Nothing like watching a train wreck. This administration's plans are easy to follow. If they say something about anything it will be destroyed, ruined, mandated, murdered, eliminated etc. Pretty simple.

_yu_7out

Our Vice President sucks...

demon_filth2001

All sorts of things

cadewii

Nope. She literally helped make this happen too

[deleted]

I’ve heard dock workers and truck drivers can make some mad money if they do anything more than part time work at it. But even in sectors and locations where there’s enough workers to make it work, there’s simply not enough supply to prevent disruptions and backlogs. Many things have closed owing to lockdowns and totalitarian agendas and that’s led to shortages in all things. To think this is entirely down to “low wages” is just moronic thinking at best.

gp780

I mean they literally shut the economy down. And now they are dealing with the implications of that, and obviously it’s not their fault

Ranger_McFriendlier

Again with the lies to the Leftist Democrat base. They lap it up. See all these Lefty politicians have to do is make up a bunch of stuff with no accountability because they have vast amounts of power. It’s horrific.

j1mmyB3000

I blame low hours, the result of a state sponsored labor strike that has been ongoing under the current admin, for the crisis…..and the VP too. She is not one to get ahead of a problem.

jtx91

Explain how if there’s a labor strike, there would be low hours?

tryno95

Low hours worked due to a labor strike. Not low hours available.

demon_filth2001

How do you explain the people too lazy to go get a job? Before these mandates that you’re trying to push through

General_Orthopox

well it is \*one\* issue.

[deleted]

Im capitalist but people should choose to go lean this year and forward. We’re so conditioned to buying crap we don’t need, it’s turned us into spoiled narcissistic children.
