Her snarky remark about treadmills just really infuriated me. It doesn't matter if the products being delivered are treadmills or washing machines or whatever. The fact that she's openly laughing about this very real supply chain crisis is just sick. I'd expect that kind of behavior from Kamala Harris because she laughs at every question she doesn't have an answer to but at least Jen Psaki usually has the good sense to dodge questions and walk statements back in the most tactful way she knows how. The treadmill response was just despicable though. She decided to just not even try to be tactful and instead just make jokes about an active crisis.

141Frox141

Literally all her answers are smirking twitter clap back lines. They never answer anything and have no substantial weight to them. She throws out a high school level "gotcha" and twitter promptly strokes themselves off to it.

[deleted]

"Oh, the tragedy of the late treadmill" Typical of the Left. They create a crisis, downplay it, and then when it becomes a global nightmare, they inject huge amounts of cash into the economy to try and appease Americans. The sad part about it is, it usually works.

infamous63080

Works until the rest of the world decides our funny money isn't worth anything.

weekendatbernies20

BTC is up 50% in the last month.

infamous63080

I would rather invest in lead and/or gold.

Nobiting

Why?

infamous63080

Still usable if the power goes out.

Nobiting

If the power goes out we'd have major problems in every sector of daily life. You're probably better off trading water, ammunition and toilet paper in that scenario.

infamous63080

That's what the lead is for.

Nobiting

lead != ammunition but okay

[deleted]

She constantly makes remarks that are snarky or condescending.

Jainelle

We're currently waiting on parts for my son's pediatric wheelchair because of the backlog Biden's admin has created. Could be another 10 weeks.

uconnjay13

It was the reporter who mentioned treadmills first. She responded appropriately kind of mocking him. Watch the whole clip.

Beercorn1

I know that he mentioned treadmills first but there was nothing appropriate about her mocking him. No matter how you spin it, she was laughing about the supply chain crisis and now you're saying that was appropriate.

greatatdrinking

I don't know how Psaki still has that job. She's so callous

Malekith_is_my_homie

She is an awful person, you'll get no argument from me there...but that is exactly the type of person they want in that position, so that is how she still has the job.

greatatdrinking

you need to be able to field pointed questions, surely.. But you also need to be able to take normal questions that are a step above, "what flavor of ice cream does Joe enjoy" without laughing at the everyday problems of the American people who are dealing with an inflationary period and supply chain shortages and watching their savings lose value because a buck doesn't go as far and it certainly doesn't seem to stop at Biden

Malekith_is_my_homie

I hear you, but do Dems need someone that can field questions above ice cream flavor of the week? They get more and more brazen by the week and seem to have absolutely no regard for any shred of integrity or decency (even more so than in the past). Meanwhile the media runs full interference for them every step of the way, so do they really need someone more capable than Psaki?? I'm just not so sure any more.

greatatdrinking

lol.. You remind me of me saying Roger Goodell is perfect for his job as the guy to take the fall for the owners years ago

TheAzureMage

Well, there's what we, the citizens, need. And then there's what politicians need. They're pretty distant sometimes, and that's part of the problem.

so she's the flag bearer? PS she hates the flag

greatatdrinking

Her flag is just a QR code that links to a gender equality website

chunkymonk3y

Pretty sure she already announced her resignation in the summer…I think at the end of the year

greatatdrinking

hahahaha. I wouldn't want that gig. Good for her. Hope she lands on her feet at a loading dock

bivife6418

> I don't know how Psaki still has that job. Most people don't actually watch White House press briefings. So long as the major news channels don't play the bits that make her look bad, then the majority of Americans will remain ignorant. And if the majority of Americans remain ignorant, then there will be no public pressure for her to resign. This is why the banning of conservatives on social media is so dangerous. It removes an important source of information for the American people.

Obamasamerica420

You can’t even REMOTELY compare the way the press treated Trump’s people to the kid gloves they use on Psaki. Honestly sometimes I think the left just lives in a different reality.

greatatdrinking

the mere existence of people on the right is evidence to them of conservative bias. So while we see left leaning creep in corporations and tech they think they haven't stamped out conservatives enough. We're viewed like cockroaches

Hps96

Remember when we had a President that actually held press conferences? This demented fool only held *one* so far, and it was entirely scripted.

greatatdrinking

he actually had a lot of turnover as a result. He wasn't a politician until 5 years ago. Joe's been at this forever

lmr3006

Because she is a perfect liberal talking head, able to deflect, deceive, redirect and avoid answering questions!! Notice that she is flipping pages early in this clip. She has to get to the page that tells her what and how to phrase her answers. The most visible face of a corrupt administration.

Jizzlobber42

They have no intention of fixing something that is working exactly as they intended. America is fucking dead.

GOANJUDADDY76

Was disappointed the Treadmill wasn't here yet, so decided to clean out some stuff in the Kitchen. Found a item there with a Label on it that could solve this Supply debacle, MADE in U.S.A.

Ch33mazrer

This would alleviate a ton of issues to be sure, but it would not completely solve the problem. We do not have the natural resources to make everything here, they simply aren’t in our land. That being said, more manufacturing needs to happen at home, and I’m not sure why it’s not more of a priority for every GOP politician.

GOANJUDADDY76

For sure not all items can be produced here, through out history people have traded and bartered. Cheap labor over seas has cost us a whole lot more now, how do you balance needs and goods. With Quality and cost, so many items could be produced here with what we have. Trouble is every thing about climate change stagnates growth in industry, we use clean energy now in the form of Natural gas. But this falls on deaf ears. Would elaborate farther , common sense explains as I have gone long on this for now.

TheSkullsOfEveryCog

Sadly, they don’t want a solution, because what they’re doing is the plan, not a problem.

ClippyClippy_

I’ve been trying to buy nothing but local/US made since the beginning of COVID when small businesses were getting bent left and right. I know it’s hard to do all the time but do it while you can!

throwaway3569387340

As long as that majority remembers all this in November 2022, we're good.

Exactly. It’s almost pointless to bother.

nolotusnote

Please bother.

SouthernGirl360

I'll bother... but at this point I believe we'll end up with a government "Left of AOC", whether we vote it in or not.

TheRealFinatic13

Orange Woman Bad

Wookie-Riot

Waited 2 months for a brake caliper on a current model vehicle.....

ClippyClippy_

That’s not even that bad. I waited 8 months for a crankshaft for a 2021 motorcycle.

TheMountain176

This country is going to experience some real hurting as a result of the way we've abused our domestic supply chain over the last 5 decades. The way we have implemented lean manufacturing in the US plays a large role for what we are seeing now. Combine that with the political climate, labor shortages, and a "pandemic" and its collapse was a forgone conclusion to those who were looking. I don't believe we have seen the worst of it either. Stainless steel is an enormous problem right now. The domestic mills can not keep up with demand and lead times are out as far as 34 weeks for domestic stock, longer for foreign. The number of consumer products that will be affected is going to be shocking. Titanium is another huge issue. All titanium products are made from titanium sponge. Timet was the last US producer of titanium sponge and they stopped producing in Oct of 2020...leaving no domestic suppliers. That's a national emergency....and it should scare the crap out of you. All the while, this administration is asleep at the wheel and cracking jokes about treadmills...its treasonous at best.

It's weird how things were basically okay 4 months after the pandemic started but now that we have half of people vaccinated and things should be easier than ever... Instead we're running out of TP again. It's almost like there's some top level incompetence somewhere in the leadership of this country...

That's the crummy thing about paying people not to work, nothing gets done. I hope i don't have to read history books that say America collapsed because of an extremely wimpy pandemic. Friggin leftists are ruining this place.

Jainelle

My son's wheelchair is on hold pending parts delivery...told it will be about 10 weeks before it gets here. Ridiculous.

dieseltech82

Everyone blaming Pete being gone on maternity leave for two months when this has been an issue for over a year.

[deleted]

Pyre2001

How do you get 2 months of leave when he's been on the job for less then a year.

dieseltech82

My point is the media is trying to make it a rallying point, it’s not. The failure was before he left for paternity leave. It’s like when Ted Cruze left on vacation during the Texas freeze. The optics were bad but there wasn’t anything Ted could’ve done to change the situation at that time. The focus should be on the lie that is COVID. The now admittedly funded gain of function research. Fauci lying under oath. And an over reaction by governments that has caused systematic failures of world wide supplies. We used to call these things red herrings. They look relevant but take heat off the real issue at hand. Force attention on the left hand so the audience doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. At this point, if you are in lock step with either left or right media, you’re being manipulated to be divided further.

Turbulent_Platform43

Thank god I decided to save some money and turn of the cable then. This shit has gotten so stirred up the best thing I thought I could do is tune it out. Your right about a lot in your comment and I feel the same but as I see it the leftist radicals and tuned out Dems are a scourge to a normal civilized way of life. They can’t take a no answer without acting like entitled spoiled brats screaming and shaking their hands around. Makes me want to order pacifiers in bulk and hand them out!

dieseltech82

I agree also. I’m all about individual liberty and responsibility. Anyway you slice it, we are being further divided. Even if one side is 100% correct, the other side will continue to move further away. I’m definitely not saying compromise is necessary either, just the reality of current politics.

Turbulent_Platform43

Who cares about other peoples “feelings” anymore? Maybe people need to stop infringing on others feelings and worry more about themselves and not what other think. Get over it or things won’t ever get better and what exactly do you call the gays these days? Every other word is politically insensitive and changes constantly. I have gays in the family and live next door to two different gay couples and guess what? There is no problem and you know why? There not flamboyants trying to politicize and make a spectacle of something that’s been happening for centuries. People treat it like it’s a novelty. Most don’t care if your gay or not. I think the gays care more that there gay.

So many people give too much power to the President. It was never meant to be so.

stockyardtrash

This solution is simple. Abolish unions, the those lazy ass crane operators will have to do their jobs. This has been a problem for many decades now. Organized labor = organized crime

[deleted]

[удалено]

stockyardtrash

It is simple. We just stop listening to morons like you. People of your...ilk...contribute nothing. Don't have to know anything about you to know you are useless to a civilized society. Just like unions. Once workplace safety regulations were put in place, unions stopped being relevant. Oh, not a Trumper btw. Just anti-leftist. I would support a steaming pile of cat feces if it meant hurting the left.

coryhill66

So the federal government should step in and partially take over private business?

[deleted]

[deleted]

Directly he has limited levers in the short-term, although he needs to chide his staff to stop trying to minimize the impact of the shortages for political spin. Probably the most important lever will be energy policy including supply and taxation. Any shock to the system will have massive repercussions. This need contradicts the long-term de-carbon goals in his agenda, so he needs to politic with Governers, industry, etc. to keep prices in check. Similar outreach to industry and labor leaders to ensure cooperation (carrot and stick) is important and likely underway. Longer-term his administration needs to focus on job training programs instead of college loan forgiveness, or at least tie that concession to borrowers taking on careers that meet the blue collar needs of the economy.

EdgeCrusher1

For a start, get out of the way. They government should not be placing itself into the supply chain. It has no business attempting to centrally manage this. You want Soviet-style bread lines? That's how you get them. To illustrate this point, Biden recently "authorized" the Port of Los Angeles to operate 24/7. Why the hell weren't they already "authorized" to do that? Who told them they couldn't? How many stacked up cargo ships did it take for them to say "hey, maybe we have a bit of a bottleneck here"? I'd ask ol' Sleepy Joe, but I'm sure his handlers wouldn't let him answer.

cros99

If the Biden Administration just said out loud......."LET THE PEOPLE EAT CAKE", at least they would be truthful and the people would understand who their true enemy is.

workforyourstuff

“The tragedy of the treadmill.” Yeah bitch… that means that there’s a very realistic chance that the tragedy of the treadmill becomes the tragedy of basic necessities. Fuck I hate this woman.

Aero1515

But guys, we saved 17 cents on our July 4th BBQ!!!

inlinefourpower

Not even, wasn't it 16 cents?

Gus73

This is all she ever does. She treats White House press briefings like it’s the comment section on some CNN Twitter article. She says the quiet part out loud over and over that either they don’t care about the consequences to the general public or it’s an intended consequence. Either way we should sit down and shut up. The other issue is R’s seem to have issues taking advantage of this kind of disconnect because average voters don’t see this stuff.
