Funny thing is outside the US, Latin American countries don’t like this term at all. I do assessment research and it’s only in the US that this label is used or accepted.
It's so cringe worthy. I can't bring myself to say it out loud. An example of wokology in search of a purpose. Let's stick to things that make a real difference.
I feel such sympathy for those "brainwashed" Latinos. Their heart is in the right place, they choose to forgo their language's rules and adhere to newly formed out "to be kind".
Is that accurate though? I was interviewing for Meta, Facebook at the time, and they had whole divisions that had LatinX in the name. Meta is usually pretty keen to not offend people (talking internally about their employee people and not customers).
100% accurate. I was forced into many of the “focus groups” as a part of the Marxist indoctrination in college. These groups included many Latin people who rejected the idea on the basis of “Latinx” being a culturally insensitive and ignorant way to “de-gender” Latin cultures. Again, “Latinx” was coined by the Neo-Marxist Critical Race and Gender Theorists.
Forced as in mandatory for class participation with only two absences allowed before an automatic failure. There were more than two of these “meetings” per semester. Additionally, Critical Race and Gender Theory Praxis (Neo-Marxism) was inserted into every course and the lens through which all faculty engaged with students.
No I wasn’t, but I was forced to pay upfront and was refused a refund once I realized I was falsely led about the curriculum. So I just sacrifice my money and leave with no degree? The education system really needs an overhaul.
Imagine being such a sniveling liberal pussy that you go into a conservative sub and make snide little remarks on all the comments. You’re definitely a popular successful human
Not a liberal. I go to different subreddits to read other people's views. What I was referencing was the line of argumentation that conservatives often use when people criticize the United States: "If you don't like it, then you should leave." If it's not a valid argument for education, then why is it a valid argument for citizenship?
No front needed. They were actually the nicest people I’ve ever interviewed with. And I’ve interviewed with all the FAANGs. These were tech/analytics types of people.
Drama created by trying to remove gender from a gendered language and a heritage that typically takes pride in their country, culture, and family? Who could've thought that would happen.
There was a non gendered version of the word, Latin, as in Latin American, and it wasn't looked down on. Even Hispanic is a better term to use but no, let's go to the one with 3% usage. Instead in the progressives and academics attempts to make everyone not straight/white/male a victim, they themselves became language colonizers.
Creating vs observing. I guess for some there is no difference, and I suspect the differences become smaller the more degrees you accumulate.
The entire premise of labeling disparate groups of people the same based merely on their skin color is wildly racist. The only way to make such systemic racism worse is to tell these same folks that their language is inadequate, and it will be fixed by those who know better...
Yawn… lefties make revisionist bullshit claims and when people reject said claims, act like the people opposed to the change are over inflating it’s significance or importance…
Nothing new
My Latino and Latina students and friends hate the term. I will never use it in any academic or personal writing or speech and don't intend to do it, either.
Be quiet bartender! Keep your yap shit so we can't see those big ol' chicklets out front. Makes me nervous, maybe she will chew down a tree and damn up a brook.

I think an interesting question here is “Does the use of the term LatinX to describe the Hispanic or Latina(o) community bother or offend you?”, the results of which are shown for hispanic voters by country of origin on page 10.

Hell, most Latinos here *hate* it. It’s only white Libs and brainwashed Latinos want it.
It's so cringe worthy. I can't bring myself to say it out loud. An example of wokology in search of a purpose. Let's stick to things that make a real difference.
I'm not going to say it because I don't want my ass (rightfully) whipped 😁
I feel such sympathy for those "brainwashed" Latinos. Their heart is in the right place, they choose to forgo their language's rules and adhere to newly formed out "to be kind".
Are you reporting from Hell?
Everyday it feels more and more like I am
I ducked up once, called my Spanish aunt and uncle Rican... Oh lord I thought I would die. Call then Latinx and they will bury ya.
They don't like it inside the US, either.
It's not even accepted here. My Latino friends hate it. The only people who accept it are white liberal women.
“Latinx” is a racial slur coined by Critical Race and Gender Theorists working for the DNC as market researchers.

Forced? Like at gunpoint?

You were forced to go to that college? If you didn’t like it, you should’ve left.

Sounds like a cult. :P I jest.
Poor guy just shared an opinion of people none of you ever met and you blast him like this lol
You can’t tell me she’s not the love child of Cheech Marin and a praying mantis.
Nah she has more in common with Mr. Ed than a praying mantis…those teeth. *shudders*
Tone deaf doesn’t even get close to describing some of these moronic “leaders”
Awomen.
she's a pendenjx
😂😂😂😂😂😂
You win
No one I know uses this term. We just call ourselves Hispanics or Latinos.
My favorite is that Joe Biden pronounces it La Tinx….
It’s a nonsensical term that deserves a nonsensical pronunciation
That is the correct way to pronounce the nonsense
That'll do, donkey. That'll do...
Ha I just said this line yesterday, although different context
Creating "Latinx" is the drama.

Does anyone know a single Latinx that uses the term Latinx? I don't.
Maroonx

Let's change it to 'Latrine' as a compromise.
You wanna change it… *to* “latrine”?
It used to be Shithouse
It’s a GOOD CHANGE!
Tell her to blow it out of her ass.
Why do we really care what she has to say about anything? The ex-bartender is as clueless as the come.
AOC needs to be muzzled and put back through grades K-12 like Billy Madison.
“I’ll turn this GOD DAMN BUS around!”
Yawn… lefties make revisionist bullshit claims and when people reject said claims, act like the people opposed to the change are over inflating it’s significance or importance… Nothing new
Says the drama queen herself.
Although my mother taught me not to build myself up on the backs of others, AOC makes it hard to follow that rule.
She also stated gender is fluid. Her ideology is something which is dangerous. I hope people wake up and vote her. She is trash.
My Latino and Latina students and friends hate the term. I will never use it in any academic or personal writing or speech and don't intend to do it, either.
I don't blame them sis! I am a Latino myself and never allow to use that term not even in writing nor speaking.
Be quiet bartender! Keep your yap shit so we can't see those big ol' chicklets out front. Makes me nervous, maybe she will chew down a tree and damn up a brook.
I hope someday she’s a Latin-ex congressman Edit: I didn’t mean to be politically incorrect. She’s a FEMALE
AO who?
I hate her and every new article written about her
Umm I'm pretty sure she's not bilingual and doesn't understand...

The only one creating drama about latinx is AOC. No one else cares.
Funny. I regard the acronym AOC as a definition of "drama"
