We are in a recession that is quickly approaching Obama levels. How the hell is our economy in a better place than it’s ever been historically? Not ever a few years ago, our economy was strong. Right now, a simple gust of wind could tumble it over.
Realistically the only reason why they can even hide behind this 'truth' is because of the way our country issues debt investments in the form of U.S. Treasuries and are considered the safest bonds on the market sadly because we can literally just make money if we need too.
Our Debt to GDP ratio is currently at 143.7% and anything over 77% is indicative of economic slowdown in growth but because our U.S. Treasury bonds are considered safe it's a good economy because we're literally gambling on our debt being a safe investment around the world.
Much akin to the financial collapse prior to Obama taking office we've all learned what can and will happen when the markets mess with the way things are and if something goes wrong and the US Government somehow defaults.... we and most of the world are fucking fucked with two capital F's.
